Goro listened intently on the girls story. She was a spiritual leader of some sort. It was interesting because he was never one for religion. It wasn't that he was against it but he just never gotten the chance to know about it. Growing up, a god seemed cruel to even think about. And if there was one, he or she really enjoyed kicking him in the balls. Yoko pointed out an ocean they had to cross which worried Goro. Up until this point he never left the country before. He really didn't know what to expect.


So a spiritual group you say? Thats cool. So like your the priest or something?" GOro inquired hoping that he wasn't stepping on any toes. THe topic of religion was always a sensitive topic after all.

“I guess you could say I’m a priest. I carry out the will of my patron directly.” There wasn’t much else to it really, there was no order that she knew of or anything of that nature in which to recruit others too. Nor was there any real guidelines. “It tells me to do something, I do it. Pretty simple.” Was ‘it’ even the correct word? Yoko wondered to herself about this matter, after all, there was nothing to say death had a defined gender.

Fortunately, the other members of the village had arranged for passage over the ocean by way of boat. It would not be pretty, they had to remain in the cargo hold, but it would at least keep them hidden from onlookers. “Shouldn’t take that long in the scheme of things... Know anything we can do to pass the time?”

Goro listened intently as Yoko described her faith. The more she talked about it the more mysterious and interesting it got. The will of her patron. A patron that tells her to do something and then she does it. Goro couldnt help but have a feeling of slight misfortune and malice in all of that. She seemed very determined to carry out the will of this "patron" no matter what the cost. So if the patron had asked her to kill a whole bunch of people then she would have to do it. Or if her patron asked her to runaway from the village would she betray her home? Goro didn't want to assume or ask. However this intrigued him.

Arriving at the dock they would board a boat that would carry them to their destination. They were asked to remain in the cargo hold for the time being seeing as they needed to stay hidden and away from other people. The mission was secret after all and they did need to be discreet. Sitting there Goro began to realize that things were a little dry considering that they are in a cargo hold with nothing to do. Yoko seemed to have the same idea as she asked if he knew anything to do to pass the time.

Goro smiled at the offer and began too look around the dock. Quickly his eye spotted a small wooden peg, about the size of a kunai at the other side of the cargo hold. He walked over and grabbed it and turned to face Yoko.
"Me and my academy friends used to play this all the time. We would throw this peg at each other, like how you would throw a kunai at a target. The other person has to catch it. If they don't catch it, its 10 pushups. So? Wanna play?" A devilish smirk creeped on Goro's face.

The boat ride was quite the boring experience. But Yoko found the strength to endure it. Upon being approached by Goro, she decided to decline his offer of a game. Throwing things hardly seemed like the most discreet way in which to hide. “Well I’m not too sure about that, how about you just show me your skill with a blade?” He was a swordsman after all, and a confident one at that. Surely he’d take her up on the offer?

Goro frowned at the rejection of his game. He was after all excited to play it. It had been a while since he last got to enjoy himself like that. Suddenly the girl offered to have him show off his skills with the blade. A nerve struck with Goro. Not with her but herself. He heard the words that his master had told him. The sting of denial was rotting in his heart and his mind and his sudden confident demeanour turned into something less comforting.

That I cannot do. Even if my life depended on it and I would suffer. My master forbids me to draw this blade anywhere but in his presence. He deems me unworthy of wielding this blade. He makes me carry it so that he may taunt me and remind me that I am not worthy." His words practically bled out of his mouth. His fist gripped tighter around the rod as his mood quickly changed. He hated feeling weak. Feeling like he wasn't able to accomplish anything at all.

A swordsman that can’t use his sword? Sheathed sword techniques? Pretty interesting. Clearly, there was some attachment to the blade, Yoko could tell by the way the youth gripped the blade. “Well at least that’s out in the open, guess we will have to keep that in mind in case a fight breaks out” Yoko didn’t know how to spin it in a positive light, but in many senses, she was in a similar situation. If death had commanded her to never use her blade, then she wouldn’t be able to. Presumably, the entity would never issue such a command, but if death was anything it was mysterious.

“Well, I guess we can play your game for a short period, although I doubt the journey will go on for much longer.” Pausing for a brief moment she followed with “I’m a skilled marksman by the way, so… I hope you enjoy press-ups”

A smile dawn on Goro quickly as it became apparent that his game was too be matched. The challenge of the girl being a marksman made Goro's blood boil in excitement. It would definitely be something that he will be looking forward too. As he got into a stance and readied himself, the boat came to an abrupt stop and the sound of footsteps would be heard. It would seem that the boat had docked.

"I guess we will have to continue this another time? It would appear that we have arrived at our destination."

Wow really? Were we really here? That hadn’t taken nearly as long as what Yoko had expected. The footsteps accompanying the sudden halt alerted her to such. Pausing for a moment the youth considered the possibility that they were in fact not at their true destination, but the idea was just that, a fleeting one. It seemed the pair had been denied their chance to play the game, “there is nothing to say we can't play when we arrive at our true destination” after all upon setting up camp they would no doubt have plenty of time on their hands.

So with that Yoko gathered up her equipment and began to disembark from the ship. Time to set up a camp?

Disembarking from the ship, Goro continued to walk with Yoko. It was strange, going on a sudden journey with someone that just came out of no where. He had wondered how the girl had been able to change appearances in the first place. Yoko seemed to be a strong ninja, simply not someone Goro was allowed to underestimate

So you know about my skills.... but other than being a marksmen, what else are you really good at?"

“Hmmm, outside of my marksman skills, I’m pretty unremarkable for a shinobi. I guess I’m rather skilled when it comes to hiding?”

She paused for a brief moment, allowing the other passengers to walk off selecting their own routes, this was all a part of her plan after all. Once everyone had dispersed she elected to head in the least followed direct, a small thoroughfare. After travelling for a good distance, enough for all the other travels to have faded from view she’d start to seek out a place for their camp to be established.
