While Axel couldn't tell what was happening he felt the bond with Rey grow taut as his wolf whined low and shivered briefly before howling out from resisting the attempt all while the Burning Wind still blew. It was then that Axel's eyes drained of the crimson glow becoming black and the cloud of wire froze looking like water stopped in time. Within the blackness seals would be weaved as the black rage seethed through Axel from the attempt at corrupting his wolf.

As she made her comment to Houkou a burst of smoke would fill the area obscuring normal vision but Houkou could see the Double-Headed Wolf beside him with olive fur. A faint rumble would tremble through the ground as Axel leaped into the air aiming to bring his massive claws down and through the woman and cleave her apart. However while the attack seemed just like a provoked attack, Axel's black tendril would whip through the air after the woman hidden by mist and smoke aiming to ensnare her if his claws didn't end her pitiful existence.

Description: Must make a Fortitude save to take half damage. User summons a howling wind, driving the burning land into the faces of their enemies. Targeted creatures suffer 20 armour points of damage per round, and are blinded for the duration of the wind unless they succeed on Fortitude save. The burning wind does not set free to combustibles or otherwise affect objects.
Limit: Must be an Inuzuka member.

Axel was not a fan of the Genjuts that was had crept up on his pup, and with good reason, just as Houkou was not a fan of some apparition asking him to partner up. He’d had enough of ghosts and specters to last him a moment, as they were all annoying, and almost always useless to him. Before he could answer, his partner was in full assault mode, the smoke exploding on the field as well, but he could see Axel still thanks to his chakra. Double-Headed Wolf. A powerful technique. Let’s see how he uses it. Houkou knew he had done his part, as they was a battle for Axel and not himself, not truly, and he would play the role of support.

Yeah, the burning wind was how some of the wire ANBU were "...blown away" in the previous post.

"Oh look," said Ms. Inuzuka, "it didn't work."

Her laughter drifted into focus, then faded.

Axel struck, but there was no physical body to strike. The voice was echoing, like before, from beyond the mists. Though the double-headed wolf struck where the voice might've come from, there was nothing but the mist. The wires from Axel struck the mists as well, but they didn't hit anything of substance, and when those wires withdrew and returned, small white symbols were scattered where the wires met mist.

Parts of Axel's wires were now covered by tiny symbols of the waterfall. Each was no larger than a speak, and needed to be seen from up close to identify. From afar, it merely looked like the wires were a shade whiter where they had brushed up against the mists.

The symbols shined with chakra in Houkou's eyes. They were scattered like stars in the sky. They nearly covered all of the bits of wire they touched, but never overlapped. There was no pain, or other feelings, associated with their existence. It was only by sight that they were seen, and they remained rooted like a seal or tattoo.

"If only you weren't a lump of metal," she echoed, voice growing distant. "It'd be good to know if a two headed pup could be mastered. Stay patriotic, I suppose. I'll be seeing you."

A new voice, male this time, spoke from the mists. "I am a lifelong friend. To love oneself is to love me. I always come to the lake with you, and I always leave when you do. What is my name?"

After none of the attacks made contact Axel felt a deep knot of agitation in his chest and made the large beast shudder with a rage strained sigh before letting the technique dispel leaving the red head to look over his wire as he drew it close seeing the off-color to them. He would quietly stretch a few wires between his fingers analyzing the miniature markings before hearing the next voice boom out.

A lifelong friend, to love oneself is to love me, I always come to the lake and leave when you do. Axel quietly tried to focus through his anger and agitation while Rey laid at his feet. "My reflection..." In truth his biggest rationalization is the lake part along with the 'self' references.

The visage of Mrs. Inuzuka started to distort as Axel answered the question. She laughed a shrill laugh that seemed to cause the fog around her to freeze. There was something supernatural that was filling the air. Something that was unmistakably evil. A dampening mist started to fill the air around Axel as she loomed in closer to him. Her feet seeming to hover over the ground as she glided towards him. 

"One last riddle little one... What looks like a little bitch... and is about to die on this island?" 

The question, clearly rhetorical was this wraiths moment to attack. She lunged towards the ninja with pure intent to kill.

As the visage spoke again Axel could already feel things weren't the same, it made a point of telling him off when he was wrong and if he was right he would've gotten an orb like Houkou had. Whenever it had attacked this time he knew better and when she lunged Axel would drop to the ground before thrusting his arm against its chest as it went over him before letting his wire fly free with deadly speed aiming to impale it.

Due to his previous attack he was positioned far enough from Houkou and his wolf that his attack wouldn't reach him but as a fail-safe more wire would surge from his arm as lashing tendrils would shoot out to whip around and hold onto the ghost regardless of how it moved.

The wires struck forwards as it enveloped outwards towards the spirit. As the threads pierced the being there was a beam of purple light that started to fill the air and beam outwards from the being. There was an explosion of light that would start to fill the area as the light started to cascade in a growing surge of power. The light would start to get brighter and brighter as the seconds started to stretch on. There was a powerful vibration that was mounting.

As the light streamed out and the force and vibrations began to shake the world around them Axel would use the tendrils he had already ensnared it with to fling the spirit up into the sky above them. The build up of energy typically was the precursor to some form of explosion and Axel couldn't take the chance of it harming Houkou or the wolves. Once the spirit had been sent flying He began to let his body unfurl and weave into a dome around them all using his body as a shield while wrapping the remaining wire around his heart. Given that his body was steel it should provide a moderate enough defense to protect the others inside the dome from the blast that he expected from the spirit.

There was a bright flash of energy as the spirit was flung up in the air where it exploded. Light came crashing down in all directions dealing incorporeal damage to everyone effected in the blast. Axel would take 40 ap of damage. The ghost would no longer be there but there would be a small plonking noise as a small orb would fall to the ground a few meters in front of him. From deep in the mist the sound of chuckling could be heard from all around him. 

"Tell me oh bundle of wires... What else has several hearts but no other organs?"

A low hiss would escape the wire after the energy hit Axel while he slowly reformed his body from the dome while rubbing his arm. He became even more annoyed as the voice spoke again with another riddle. Without biting back Axel would close his eyes and think when his friend came to mind making him smirk slightly while Rey collected the orb from the ground.

"A deck of cards."

The air around the ninja seemed to shake as the same ominous laughing seemed to fill the air around him. "Not as brainless as you appear." The mist chortled on as it swirled around him. A small orb fell from the mist a few yards away from the ninja. So far the wire person was moving through the riddles quite quickly. There was a moment of silence from the mist as the mist waited for Axel to get the orb.

Rey would collect the third orb as well making a small pile from them.

[I'm back. No font or anything for this, just getting re-set up and then let's get back to it.]

"Sorry, got lost in thought, didn't even realize we were still doing these riddles. I'm good now though, let's finish this, shall we?" Houkou looked over to his companion, eying the little pile of orbs he was making, impressed that he was doing so so quickly. He would have to catch up.

Rey would move the orb to a small pile.


Houkou:

The voice from behind the mist would start to chuckle as it heard the man speak. "I had figured you had simply died from trying to use your brain for once." It chortled in a high pitched jeer. The mist began to coyly swirl around as it started to settle around him. "Tell me... If there are 14 ninja in a dojo that are female. 8 of the kids use fire ninjutsu. 2 of the ninja are neither girls or wear a use fire ninjutsu. If 5 of the ninja are girls who use fire ninjutsu how many kids are in the dojo total?

Axel began to glare at the fog feeling the same park of annoyance from somewhere fair away as his wire began to shift within his hand while he counted. Silently he would take into account the clues given before working them out. 8 using fire and 5 are girls leaves 3 boys using fire and 2 kids who are not female or using fire added another 2. "19 total, 5 boys and the 14 girls."

The mist growled at the wire construct. "That riddle was not meant for you worm!" It shrieked. The mist around them started to glow and crackle as the mist swirled around them. There was no reward dropped even though the answer was correct. The mist swirled around the two of them once more and started to speak once again.


Axel:
We can be venomous without touching. We sting without moving. We speak the lies and the truth. Many can mean few and few can mean many. What are we?


Houkou: Follower of man, Dark as night, A trained Choreographer, Comes after light.

Houkou cocked his head at the now angry mists, curious as to what the riddle would next be, as his partner had answered the last. He would have to thank Axel for that, as he really didn't feel like answering one so simple, and yet the mist kept them simple. Perhaps the controller was just a simple mind.

"The answer is Shadow."

He placed his hands in his pockets and looked around bored, actually hoping he got it wrong, so that he could at least fight something interesting, but he knew that was the answer. You shadow is dark, follows you and mimics all you do once there is light.

The mist chortled. "Looks like it can speak." The mist mused. "Very well. Take your orb." It said as it dropped one at the ninjas feet. The other ninja seemed to be taking his time.

"A hunter of men may take. Several trails a path to make. The more you take, the more left behind. All may follow except the blind. What am I?"
