Exploring the Multiverse [Epic]

The golden Krystal entered the cabin with the man and noted that it was a pretty humble abode, furnished with very little -- a couple of rooms and a living room/kitchen that was packed into one with a small fireplace. The man walked in and sat down on one of the benches and motioned Krystal towards a chair. When the two of them were alone in the cabin, he looked at her and sighed. "Getting to the Second Layer of the Beastlands is rumored to be impossible, but I know one or two people who have done it. North of here is a large hill that is monitored by some great beast -- of what type I'm not sure. It is said that if one conquers this beast, they will be given access to the second layer."

The man looked at Krystal with a bit of worry on his face. "But most everybody dies. It'd be better to stick it out here, where at least its a little safe. The monsters don't hurt us here in the valley. Pick up a hoe and a shovel and get to work on a patch of land, I'm sure you could enjoy it here." He looked at the gold woman, seeming to know it was not going to happen just from her appearance but having to try anyways.

The real Krystal, Tonya, and Akari stood out with the villagers who watched them curiously, some of them getting back to work. However, always out of the corner of their eyes they stared -- as if this was a very interesting turn of events.

Krystal listened and sighed soft as this man also began to suggest that she stay as well like the girls had and even said she need only grab a hoe and work a plot for herself. The neko would shake her head and start to get up before heading over to the door. "North, thank you."

Krystal breathed out low as she rejoined the girls and herself before reaching out for Tonya's hand while the other picked up Akari. With their group reformed Krystal would begin to lead them North and out of the village before taking off again trying to get out as quick as possible. "To the north and another beast."

Krystal and her copy left the village in a hurry after getting their information, leaving the townsfolk wondering what had happened. As she traveled further north, the group would pass more small hills and plains, following ever the course of the river. But further ahead the river split into two and suddenly began to circle around some massive heap of earth -- the enormous hill that the man had told her about. It stretched one hundred meters into the air, more a plateau except for its build and softness. Plants and grasses grew across its entirety, although Krystal did not see any creature yet. The river made a circle around this giant hill, and seemed to trace its beauty before connecting again on the other side and trailing off.

Although she didn't seem the beast that was rumored to be here, she did see a sundial on the top of th hill. If she flew down to it, she would be able to see that the hours from 5am to 10pm were easily distinguishable. The other section of the sundial had been covered from some black stone, perhaps obsidian, and merged with the traditional marble side of the sundial by some unknown means. One could not even read any hours during this period as if it was just empty stone work.

After reaching the large knoll the Krystal's would glance at each other while one tilted her head up and the other would nod. The gold Krystal would go over the top to the sun-dial looking over it and seeing if the extra stone could be broken away without any real damage. If it wouldn't work Krystal would glance to the sun before trying to judge the time with the sun-dial.

The violet Krystal however would however down to where the river split and touched the hill curiously seeing if she could feel anything and as she closed her eyes she would reach out sensing with her soul for any living beings. "Hello?"

As Krystal reached out to sense at other souls she would not be able to detect anyone or anything else in her perimeter, except the small animals such as mice and gophers who patrolled this area. The two different stones of the sundial were fused together by some great crafter and could not be broken, it would seem, without some sort of damage. Right now the sun caused the center of the sundial to cast a shadow between 5 and 6 o'clock. It still had about four a half hours before it reached the obsidian section of the sundial. Tonya and Akari looked at it, cuddling around Krystal. "What are we supposed to do?" Akari asked.

After a long moment of deliberation considering neither approach proved to be useful Krystal had an idea and whistled for her other half. As they met they would interact making simple noises and gestures around the sun-dial. The purple Krystal would nod and hover a bit higher above them before focusing and forcing her body to grow again becoming as massive before and casting a great shadow over the area almost like a curtain of night.

Thee gold Krystal however would focus on her body and slowly begin to draw out the light form within turning her form into a white beacon that shone like daylight. Now having become a mini sun Krystal would hover around to direct the sun-dial and line it p with the dark side trying to create a reaction by becoming the sun.

As the purple Krystal grew in size and began to cast a dark shadow over the area, suddenly the sundial was buried in this darkness and for a second there seemed to be a shaking from the earth -- like the start of an earthquake which brewed from beneath the surface. But when the gold Krystal became the sun and tried to direct the sundial, the shaking would stop and no matter how she directed it, nothing would happen. However, if she left it in the darkness once again the shaking would continue. But it would level out at about the strength of a small tremor and just continue -- getting no more rough or powerful.

"Maybe it's not dark enough?" Akari would offer and Tonya would nod, inspecting the sundial for herself, although both of them seemed slightly hesistant about the shaking of the land that surrounded them. One might have even wondered how far this shaking was occuring, as it was difficult to tell without some ability to feel the earth for long distances. But either way, it appeared that without a way to make it darker than a shadow the mystery would have to wait...

Until night.

As everything began to tremble the larger Krystal looked around however as the trembling faded in relation to the light coming from the other they would both look at the sun-deal. With a shrug the gold Krystal would turn off her light letting the rumble come back. As the tremors finally reached a point where they would settle at a certain level.

As Akari made a comment about the darkness Krystal looked up at the larger version and nodded. Shadows would spill out around her body becoming a wraith as she kneeled down covering the sun-dial with her body the shadows consuming any light inside. She would watch closely to see what would happen listening for anything else. Whatever it was couldn't be world ending or else it would happen every night.

The large-wraith like Krystal manuevered entirely over the sundial with her body, covering it from the light of the sun -- although needing to be careful not to let in a single beam of light. As she did this the ground once again began to shake although this time much worse. It was as if the hill was experiencing an entire earthquake, and the river that surrounded it swayed back and forth, the water creating waves over the edges. Tonya and Akari watched with fear, wondering if the earth would split, as something began to emerge from a portal on the earth.

It's large, scaley body emerged -- a dark-skinned quadrepal / bipedal reptilian with a massive snout which hosted an enormous set of horns probably used to ram an opponent (image). It also had a thick, long tal which sprouted from its tailbone and swiveled through the air, decorated down its length in a display of dazzling blue lights. It climbed through the portal slowly, letting out an enormous bellow that sent all of the animals in the area running. These massive beast looked at the world as it came through the portal, and not happily it seemed.

All of a sudden its eyes fell on the covered sundial, and the odd group of women, although it had not attacked yet -- its body still pulling from the opening and its tail flickering in the air. "What is that?" Akari asked in horror, and even Tonya seemed quiet upon seeing its massive form (which stretched at least 150 ft. into the air and 200 ft. long). Although, it seemed that enormous beasts were the nature of this plane...

Seeing the massive creature from the portal the gold Krystal would sigh soft looking over the hulking creature and fly over to it. She would raise a hand forward towards it trying to show no hostility before speaking up. "I take it you can't understand me, or if you do we can't talk this out?"

If talking didn't work and she expected it wouldn't the Wraith would shoot forward tackling the dragon-like beast as the Gold Krystal flew down grabbing Tonya and Akari before racing past the giants to enter the portal the creature had come thr9ough before it closed. Once they were through the Wraith would shrink back and fly after them.

The massive creature looked at the gold Krystal as she held up her hand and spoke to it, but it did not attack her as she might have expected. The creature's vagely blue eyes reduced in size from the light as it let out a deep chuckle that echoed across the earth. "Can't understand you? I've been speaking multiple languages before your birth... And what is there to talk out? Why you've brought me to this world in the middle of daylight, leaving my eyes to this pain?" It rolled its head and sniffed at the air, looking around despite the light. It clawed at the ground a little with its front, left foot, seeming to make sure of something. It had come through a portal on the side of the hill, so still some distance away and down the slope. Although, with that massive size it did appear that it would be difficult for it to bridge the gap.

"Oh~ I'm glad we can communicate." Krystal responded in kind however he smile slipped a bit as he inquired why they had brought him there. She saw him paw at the ground and felt guilt for causing the great creature pain but she had to keep looking forward.

"I apologize for that, I didn't know what would happen and tried what caused a reaction. I'm looking for a way to the next planar level, and a master." Krystal responded in kind while presenting her reason for the actions that had brought him forth. She hoped it wouldn't offend the leviathan as she watched its hulking form.

The massive creature peered at Krystal through the sunlight, its hulking body at the base of the hill which it could easily climb. As it heard Krystal's request, it skulked around the river and hill, moving around it in a circle so that it could inspect the land. As it walked around, it said, "Very rarely have I seen this place in the light..."

It let out a gigantic roar into the sky and sent several of the surrounding birds, which had been brave enough not to fly away yet, flying into the air. It then looked back at Krystal and said, "I know how to get to the other plane -- you could say that I am the gate between this layer of the Beastlands and the next. But why help one such as yourself obtain anything there? Quite frankly, I say let the lowly animals cling to their existence here on the first layer... what makes you think you are any better?" It snorted through its nostrils and squinted its eyes, not all together enjoying the new view it had of this area.

Krystal would hover around the large creature as it explored the area roaring to scatter the birds while the neko watched. However her face fell a bit when he seemed to be unwilling to help. She took a moment to breathe and center herself as she thought before looking to the creature.

"My friends and I are not from this plane in all honesty. I came through some portal thinking I'd have a nice night with two girls but instead ended up here to procreate and populate the plane. So realistically I think I would've met you eventually. Anyway, I wish to return home and I'd rather it not come to violence..." Krystal explained while ending on a softer note. She didn't know if the creature had any empathy or if any part of her words reached him but she truly didn't want to fight or potentially kill him.

"I apologize for being a bother but would you please help us?"

Suddenly the massive beast let out a gigantic boom of laughter and it rang throughout the area. The ground seemed to shake from its force. "Trying to come to the Beastlands to have a fun night with a couple of girls?" it said, "You sure have some bright ideas." He kept laughing, but then wiped away a tear from his eye with his tail. "I can respect that. Although your desire to leave us so quickly is a little aggravating -- you should consider yourself lucky to be among the Beastlands..." Suddenly he started to climb up the side of the hill toward Krystal, her wraith still covering the sundial. If it let any light in, the creature would suddenly disappear.

It crawled its way up to Krystal and if allowed would reach its head up to meet her in the air and sniff her, smelling for anything unusual. Then it would say, "Alright, I'll let you pass to the second layer of the Beastlands, Brux, the land of eternal dusk." He said this with a booming voice and would all of a sudden open its mouth -- revealing a swirling and colorful interior down its throat which did not lead into a stomach as one would expect. The range of its jaws were enormous, opening at least wide enough for Krystal to walk through in her ordinary form, if not a little bigger.

The creature seemed to be waiting for her to walk in -- and into this strange portal inside of his stomach.

"Well I didn't know I'd end up here," Krystal responded and stuck her tongue out pouting a bit, she knew what she did she didn't need to be reminded. However as he stated it was strange for her to want to leave made her tilt her head. "It's not exactly that I don't want to be here, just that I want to get home."

Krystal smiled in response as the creature came closer before sniffing her which she wiggled her ears at from the sound as she reached up to rub his snout affectionately. It was then after he agreed to let them pass that he opened his maw wide right next to the group on the hill. Now, Krystal wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed but the swirling vortex made her trust him slightly more than any other dragon that opened its mouth and told something to get in.

For the record, if this IS what it looks like it won't end well Krystal softly warned and patted the dragon's snout before picking up Tonya and Akari and flying into the dragon's maw while the wraith shrank down until it was small as possible to keep the sun-dial covered before blinking through the portal in the dragon's maw simultaneously allowing him to return to his realm in the same moment.

The violet Krystal yawned as the shadows receded and looked around with the group. "Well, we made it this far."

The group traveled through the beast's maw and stomach, a portal to another world -- which became obvious as their flesh touched its inner edge and began to warp and warf through space (and who knew, perhaps even time?). The second layer of the Beastlands, what that guardian had referred to as Brux, was covered in an eternal dusk. On one end of the plane the sun stood, ready to set and casting a dim light over the area. On the other side, a half-moon was beginning to rise from the ground, ready to cast the world into darkness. Neither prevailed by split the plane in shimmers of dim daylight and the dim glow of dusk across the landscape. The wraith certainly looked at home here.

The group appeared on a platform high in the air, at least 200 meters, made out of some ancient stone-work that could have been assessed given the right skills. A narrow bridge made out of the same stonework led across the pit to another platform 50 meters ahead, which entered into a stone door leading ino a massive tower which stretched far below the bridge and all the way to the ground. Flocks of birds swirled around the group's head and the wind blew, making a loud sound in their ears, a reminder of how high they were. Akari looked down over the edge and got a look on her face, a bit scared.

It seemed that they were here.

As the Wraith made it through and looked around at the dusky landscape it began to purr and happily nuzzled Akari lifting her onto it's back. Krystal meanwhile looked around at the surroundings as well as the large bridge stretching to some tower. Considering both Krystals could fly, the gold one lifted Tonya onto her shoulders before heading towards where the bridge lead.

The Wraith with Akari however would leap off the bridge and explore the area for anything worth noting. The golden Krystal would lightly push open the entry to the tower before stepping inside and calling out to anyone who may reside there. "Hello? Is anyone here?!"

As the wraith and Akari circled around the lower part of the bridge, they would find that it was constructed on very high beams that fell toward the ground, into mist which would be difficult to see through without some special ability to see through mist. Although, they could have flown into it if those so chose. This mist stretched as far as one could see and seemed to blanket the ground, making it difficult to find if not impossible at times. As the golden Krystal and Tonya walked across the bridge and to the large door to the tower, they would notice a few runes on the door in some language -- one that they probably did not understand.

Opening the door and walking in, Krystal would yell for somebody -- anybody. The enormous white colored, stone castle remained quiet, nothing and nobody could be detected in the area. The door opened to a wide and marvelous chamber, forming a 40 meter semi-circle which was lined with several doors and two hallways as one entered, one to the left and one to the right. A glass chandelier hung from the ceiling, and one could see a balcony about twenty meters in the sky, clinging to the wall with several doors exiting out to it but no discernable way up (without, of course, flight as Krystal would note).

Although Krystal's yells had so far fell on deaf hers, she found herself in yet another lavish and beautiful tower. "You know, we could live here instead," Tonya said playfully.

Considering there was nothing of note besides the mist, the Wraith would fly back up to the bridge where Krystal had entered entering on all fours as if Akari was riding on her back. Once rejoined, Krystal would step into the room beneath the chandelier looking down each path before going to look at the doors.

The wraith however would leap up along the well to the balcony curiously before moving along the wall opening the doors and peering inside. Krystal shook her head looking back at Tonya before smiling small and going over to her. As she neared her her hands would move around her waist placing her back against the stone wall. "Oh yeah? Sure you can handle it?"
