Selyse watched as the ninja cat dashed behind the counter, as a giggle escaped her lips, and heard the emotionless words from the grinning man. "Oh my story?" she asked and put a finger to her lip, looking up curiously. She seemed to be lost in thought for a little while and then said, "Well, you know, it's kind of strange. Are you sure you can handle it?" Selyse looked at him closely, with a gaze unlike any he had seen from her. But then she laughed again.

"I'm just joking! Selyse Yamanaka." She pushed out her hand as if to shake with the crouching, stitched-up man (who gave her the slight impression of a plushie). "I've got a knack for getting into people's heads."

She was keenly aware of Krystal and Isamu's presence behind her. Somewhere, deep inside her mind, Valerys wondered about Krystal and why she had attended the exams. Was it for the same reasons I did? She made a mental note of the information she needed to convey to Isamu, although waited until the two were in a more secure location to do so.

Yis observed the woman and the finger pressed against her lip. She seemed quite animated and full of energy. A stark contrast to his stiff and unmoving form. “Strange? I seem to be a magnet for the stuff.” He said while pointing a finger at the flayed flesh around his neck. He seemed confident that whatever story the woman came up with, he could trump it. “Yamanaka, huh? Call me Yis.” Yamanaka seemed to dance off Yis’ tongue for a longer period of time than the rest of his words. It was as if he was tasting the name to analyse it. “That’s a new one. Must be a made-up name.” He thought to himself as the conversation naturally flowed. “What a coincidence. I have a knack for keeping people out of my head.” He said with a grin as he shook the woman’s hand. It appeared her name was Selyse. “So… Are you a Genin too?” He asked ignorantly while tilting forwards so that his ‘headband’ flashed from just over his collar. Rather than being worn on his forehead, he wore the piece of metal etched with Cloud’s symbol across the lower part of his neck like a necklace where it loosely dangled and naturally found its way underneath his shirt.

Selyse chuckled lightly at his joke and shook Yis' hand. She didn't seem at all perturbed by his appearance and took note of the Cloud Village headband around his neck, finding it strange that he asked if she was a Genin. Weren't they all supposed to be? But she enjoyed the way that he said Yamanaka, and this too made her want to laugh.

"I am!" Selyse said with genuine excitement, "Although, hopefully, not for much longer." Her eyes wandered around the room, sizing up the competition and wondered what kind of test they were about to go through. "Have you ever taken the exams before? Any advice?" She said this rather loudly, not yelling but just so the other participants could hear her. She was interested to see if any of them would speak up and reveal some information that might prove useful later. Her eye also occasionally glanced in the direction of the brutish barkeeper, debating how much he knew.

Hopefully. Yis took in the woman’s words. She didn’t appear to be stressed by the idea of the exams, which suggested that they might possibly be not too difficult. Of course, her personality seemed so overwhelmingly positive that it was difficult to tell either way. “First timer I’m afraid. I just hit Genin a few days ago, so I was hoping to ask you if you knew what to expect.” Yis wasn’t exactly old – but he certainly was old for fresh Genin standards. “Extracting information? Wise.” He thought to himself as he noted how the woman glanced around the room before asking her question. Clearly, her words were aimed at the entire room and not just Yis. “Advice would be helpful.” He said robotically, at seemingly no one in particular before focusing his gaze on Selyse. “Say – that other guy. He’s from the same Village, correct? What’s his story?”

Isamu took in the scene and conversations unfolding in front of him. Isamu took in all of the information storing it away for future use. It wasn't much, except for the detail that she had worked with Shihana in the past. Yis was quite old to have graduated from an academy Too old. Something strange was going on there but Isamu couldn't put his finger on it. Maybe things were done differently in Kumogakure, but Isamu hadn't heard tell of it in all his years of service.

Yis asked about Isamu and he answered, "Isamu Shounin, Genin of Sunagakure. Pleased to make your acquaintance Yis." Isamu turned to Krystal, "and yours as well Krystal." It was short and perfunctory, but not unfriendly. He didn't extend a hand in greeting. Doing so might reveal his cool touch, leave a few grains of sand. Hopefully there would time for pleasantries after the exam.

As the conversation continued Krystal puffed and pouted silently as a small storm cloud appeared over her head. It was whenever Isamu greeted her that her bubble popped and she smiled politely waving back. "Nice to meet you as well."

Krystal could see the sand but made no motion to point it out given she didnt see what it would matter, sand people are still people after all. Still, Selyse/Val ignoring her made her static and tension brew but she remained close since the short kunoichi didnt want the neko hanging on.

(Quick post to get you guys going. Just make a quick response since there's 5 of you this should go quickly. After this we'll be starting the exams.)

When Krystal Solara approached and mentioned her name and village, the Chunin Examinee looked up and pointed at the paper. "Please fill out the information," the male said before going back to his paperwork.

Rikur Cragson, standing behind one of the bar counters reached into the bottom shelves and pulled out a single large Television set. He placed it on top of the bar. The size of the set was approximately 27 inches but looked quite old, something you would see 50 years ago as it was quite large and round. He plugged it into an outlet. He then turned it on and flipped through the channels while turning the Television towards the audience, or any audience that would be curious in this, well non desirable establishment.

He walked away for a moment and came back up with 5 wristbands. "Oy, all Chunin prospects!" he yelled, not caring one way or another if he was heard. "Get your arse up here and put these on your wrists!" he said flailing the wrist bands up in the air before placing them onto the table. He would then go about the rooms and begin turning on the other televisions. Each one was nicer, and flatter, showing they were in fact new.

The 2 members of the Chunin Examine Committee took all the information and collected them. They placed the information into a suitcase, and then with a few handseals teleported them off into an unknown distance and new location.

One of the members, a young woman stood up and stood on top of her chair. She quickly placed her hands against lips and began to speak in a loud voice. "All Chunin hopefuls please go to the front of the bar and grab a wristband. Place it on your wrist. It does not matter which wrist you place it on." She said loudly. "Once you do so, we shall begin!"

As the examiner stopped Krystal she blinked for a minute before sighing and taking the form before going over to gently tug on Selyse's shirt. "I need your help." After a moment of pulling her to an empty table Krystal would give her the form while whispering low. "Can you fill this out for me? I can't... read... Please?" With a pout and lowered ears Krystal looked up at the blue haired girl as cute as she could. If she agreed then Krystal would give the best information she could given her amnesia.

The bartender cut across the light chatter in the room, "Oy, all Chunin prospects! Get your arse up here and put these on your wrists!" Isamu made his way to the bar and claimed one of the wristbands. The Genin inspected it briefly and the officials he had checked in with spoke, "All Chunin hopefuls please go to the front of the bar and grab a wristband. Place it on your wrist. It does not matter which wrist you place it on."

Isamu thought on that and despite the examiner's statement that wrist choice didn't matter the Sadojin chose to place it around his left wrist. The wristband didn't weigh much but he didn't want it to restrict his sword arm. He also had no way of knowing the purpose of the wrist band. On the whole, his left arm was not nearly as necessary as his right. With the wristband in place he sat back and awaited the next instructions.

Angy gently rocked her chair back and forth as she enjoyed and played around with the piece of gum in her mouth. Her body was still in the same old dirty tavern, but her mind was somewhere nicer in the land of milk and candy. She got snapped back to reality by the bartender's loud voice when be yelled out something to the chunin prospects. Having come here for the exams, she sat quietly and listened to what the man had to say.

Quietly the Sankuchi got up from her chair and went over to the table to pick up her wristband before wearing it on her left wrist. She stood in front the desk examining the wristband, trying to figure out its purpose. Her main guess was that it had to be a tracking device. As she headed back to her seat, she spotted a familiar face and put on a smile as she winked at the one she knew as the leader of Stone.

She took the man's turning on of televisions as a signal that the exams were about to commence. Angy's hazel eyes quickly examined everyone and everything in the room and counted the number of people. She carefully observed every face and made sure to store their images in her memory bank. She couldn't see anyone else in the tavern wearing a forehead protector with the same insignia as hers and so guessed she was the only leaf shinobi around.

Selyse hurried with Krystal to fill out the slip of paper, Selyse joking as she went over each of the questions and musing for a moment over Krystal's answer to relationship status. Engaged? She felt a shudder pass through her body as Valerys noticed. But when she was finished writing down the answer, she gave the form to Krystal so that she could officially put in her request.

Just as they had finished, the bartender disposed of a few wristbands on the counter and started turning on all of the tvs -- a young woman yelled for them to put on their wristbands and that the exams would begin. And who is this? Selyse asked herself when she saw the woman. She watched as Isamu walked forward and put on one of the wristbands. Valerys looked at them suspiciously, but knew that they didn't have many other choices.

Selyse copied her partner and cuffed the band on her left wrist. Her head was spinning with possibilities now that the exams were about to start and she glanced around the room at the other participants. Her eyes fell on the other Sadojin for a moment. A shame...

"Alright, Isamu, you ready?" She giggled.

"HM?" Krystal tilted her head noticing the shudder before glancing toward her chest while tilting her head silently questioning Val. She didn't particularly understand the notion but was still curious of the feeling. Still Krystal returned Angy's wave before going to get her own wristband working it onto her right wrist glancing over it curiously before leaning back into a sitting position hovering on the air.

[Ranzu]

Zeki got up from his table and approached the counter where the wristbands were located. Following the instructions of of the committee employee, he would put the band on his right wrist. Afterward he would start milling around the counter waiting for the next set of instructions, a bit eager to get this all over with. He wanted to pass of course but he didn't like crowds very much and so wanted to get away from this all as quickly as possible.

“A pleasure to meet you too, Isamu. I hope we can work together.” Yis smiled at the cloaked man warmly as Neko peaked at the exchange from over the counter. It was unfortunate that before the conversation could continue much further, a booming voice interrupted to suggest that the exam had begun. “Does my cat need a band too?” As Yis approached the bar, Neko leapt behind her companion and remained there in that position like a permanent part of his shadow. Meanwhile, the flayed man gently grasped one of the wrists bands and held it up to his eyes to investigate.

“Hey… This looks ominous. You… Think the test is to not put it on?” Yis wondered as Neko picked up on the thoughts via their private telepathic link. “There’s no way you’re going to pass if you get paranoid about every little thing.” She explained, which prompted the flayed man to shrug. There seemed to be a mix of individuals opting for the left and right wrist. Feeling somewhat nervous, Yis decided to mirror Krystal and popped the band around the wrist of his right hand after deciding that refusing the instruction would potentially do far more harm than good. If this was a test – then surely they couldn’t fail everyone in the room for blindly obeying?

While Selyse help Krystal finish the other examiner quickly stood up and yelled out. "Need another wristband!" towards the owner of the shop.

Everyone seemed to finish gaining their wristbands and Rikur Cragson just sneered before grabbing a wrist band and tossing it across the bar towards the table where the examiners and Krystal Solara were located at.

Those who placed on their wrist band would hear 3 beeps coming from the band before stopping.

"Now that I think everyone has their wristband," the female Chunin examiner spoke out in a loud voice. "We will begin shortly," she was honestly waiting for Krystal Solara to place her wristband on.

(OOC: Just need Wolf to put on the wristband).

Despite the registration holding up everyone else Krystal didn't notice as it took more time to get another wristband. After the wait she placed it on her right wrist noting the beeps that came off it.

As everyone placed on their wrist band, in the blink of an eye a bright emitted from within the tavern and everyone wearing a wristband disappeared, off to a new location.

When I post the new location I'll mark it here, and everyone's names in the new thread.

Those who came back to the White Tankard, the Televisions would broadcast the result.

"Ladies and gentlemen after the votes from "some" of the Kages, we come to you with the results. Each particapant must make an average score 5 or above. Those who do

Isamu appeared in the bar in a flash of light. Isamu's feet hit the floor and he immediately stepped to the side, his hand reaching to his blade; he was still ready to fight. Quickly his new surroundings dawned on him and he relaxed a hair. He supposed it was possible that others might not switch off as quickly and kept his hand on the blade.

Isamu's eyes cast over the room for his Kage. Once he found the Kazekage a wave of relief came over him. At the very least they had made it out a live. The Sadojin cast his eyes around the room taking stock of the other competitors. Then the TV crackled to life and an announcer began to read results. Shihana was first. A pass. Isamu felt pride for his Kazekage and his village but anticipation clung to his heart and clouded his mind. Krystal was the next Isamu felt a ripple of surprise at her score. After everything he had thrown at Krystal she hadn't even been scratched. Maybe it was something that happened after she had flow upwards.

Yis passed next. Isamu supposed that was fair. He hadn't seen the other Genin very much but what he had seen were techniques that had changed the course of the exams. Then his name was announced and a wave of relief and happiness rushed over him. Isamu's face was set, emotionless, but inside he felt vindication for all the years this had been put off. The uncountable hours of training and service to the village, all recognized in a single number. A passing number. The next names passed quickly registering in his mind, but he was busy savoring the moment he had waited so long and worked so hard for.

As the contestants reappeared the wraith would comeback hanging around not-selyse protectively while Krystal herself burst with lightning covering her body and flames running along her arms scorching the wood at her feet. She looked around confused before she saw the screen come up and numbers flash across the screen before noticing Isamu relieved. "What? No! We barely got started, send us back."

While her voice barely raised the flame and static released from the combined teleport and having been holding her abilities until a good time to use them translated her frustration. How did running face first into a fire fight qualify people to be recognized by the organization. Her anger faded slightly when she saw Zeki reappear seemingly safe and kept her body phased for the time being in case Angela's bombs exploded like her 'hold' released.
