Rendezvous
Isamu held his hand up to shield his eyes from the sun and scanned the busy beach. Touristseason was just ramping up in Moon with the end of the oppressive summer humidity. A strong sea breeze tempered the even stronger sun and shopkeepers yelled out to passing tourists on the beach offering fresh fruit, boozy drinks, and grilled seafood.
Isamu had eschewed most of his mission equipment. Even having done so he still stood out from the crowd. The Sadojin had formed a white linen shirt and loose khaki pants. His belt that wrapped around the pants held his death's tear and immortality stone which he never went without, and on his left hip he wore his thermal and cryo enhanced katana. With the abundance of sand in the area he had gone without his gourd. It would only serve to attract attention. Isamu's headband formed the buckle of his belt.
The contract specified to come to the Saffron Beach Bar and Grill for more information. Isamu had wondered about the brazen name, but he knew that tourism often drove illicit drug trade and led to lax enforcement by local officials. Places like this catered to the desire to escape and relax they needed the money that tourists brought to survive. Some locals still made a living as fishermen or sailors like their ancestors, but now the economy revolved around extracting money from tourists.
The restaurant was only a little farther down the beach, but Isamu was looking for Amira. She had been the one who asked him to come out and assist. Scanning the crowds, he did not see her. Still this was a busy beach and she might even be waiting for him at the bar. Isamu continued on down the beach.

Isamu looked towards the water. A number of small birds were hunting in the surf. The most prevalent bird however, were the gulls. There were seagulls everywhere and Isamu knew they were drawn to human activity. All the waste that humans produced was a feast for them. It seemed to Isamu that there was nowhere people were more wasteful than on vacation so it seemed right to Isamu that this area should be so dominated by them.
The Chunin watched as a gull stalked up behind a tourist on a beach chair. Having waddled along the sand undetected it reached into the woman's bag quickly, tugging at a wrapper, and took to the sky some half finished leftovers in its beak. Other gulls quickly followed it, eager to steal its hard won prize. Isamu wondered if hey had learned that from watching the humans on the beach.
