Appearance
Entropy; the red haired oni that represents gradual decline into disorder. Entropy possesses wild and unruly ruby red hair, with two jet-black horns jutting along the top of his forehead which serve as a representation of his demonic heritage. Other notable features include iris that reflect a unique shade of amber, and red markings underneath each eye that flow down each cheek like streaks of blood-red tears, both of which the tell-tale markings of a demonic possession.
Unlike his twin brother, Entropy boasts a rather muscular frame, despite being no taller than his twin. Often, the oni can be seen sporting a red kimono, which has been rumoured to have been crafted from his own hair. A stark contrast to his pale white flesh, which at times, can lend to giving Entropy a rather horrific ‘undead’ appearance despite all vital readings showing that Entropy’s vessel is most definitely alive and in peak physical condition.
Atrophy; the blue haired oni that represents the degradation of effectiveness due to neglect. A opposite to his brother, Atrophy possesses cobalt blue hair that sweeps downwards and over the majority of the right portion of his face in a rather orderly and controlled manner. Like his twin, Atrophy also possesses tell-tale markers of a demonic possession. In this case, Atrophy sports a singular bone-white horn, sinister pale blue eyes, and much thicker-undereye markings that lack the downwards streak of his counterpart in exchange for appearing more prominent.
Although as tall as his twin brother, Atrophy boasts a slim and slender frame, with lanky limbs and powerful back muscles courtesy of his inclination for the bow. Often, Atrophy can be found sporting a kimono with darker colours often ranging from simple black and dark grey. This is often accented with a mundane white sash around his waist and a scarf around the neck. Much like his twin, Atrophy’s skin is pale and almost snow-white. Most often mistake him for a corpse, especially due to his calm and laid-back persona.
Ataxia; the true form of Entropy and Atrophy, which represents the complete deprivation of control. Entropy and Atrophy have yet to be able to achieve this form – the perfect culmination of their shared experiences. One can speculate that the perfect fusion of red and blue pigmentation will result in this form potentially possessing long purple hair, with a trio of demonic horns. One may also speculate that the extra cellular mass will mean a taller frame, and a combined weight of 270 pounds. Further analysis required.
Personality
Entropy; wrath incarnate. Entropy possesses a rather cruel and unforgiving personality. While he does choose to follow the laws of Kusa, he has been known to be hot-headed and brash. Easily angered, Entropy will often hold grudges and twist the rules of the world in his favour to gain the upper hand in any situation. Quite simply, he is the type that can easily be provoked, although tends to usually get what he wants as a consequence one way or another.
Naturally, Entropy has little qualms with using underhanded tactics in getting his way in the world. Lying and cheating, even in the most mundane of situations, is not something that is beneath him. Nor are sucker punches or other tactics that are usually frowned upon. The concept of honour is simply a weakness that Entropy does not possess and knows exactly how to exploit it in others even when in the middle of one of his infamous fits of rage.
Atrophy; sloth incarnate. If the twins were said to possess one thing in common, it would be their cruel and unforgiving nature. However, unlike his boastful counterpart, Atrophy is rather silent and reserved. Most rarely know what he is thinking or plotting, aside from Entropy. However, even that is only thanks to their intrusive shared mental link. In essence, where Entropy tends to captivate an entire audience and easily becomes the centre of attention, Atrophy prefers to remain in the background and work as a part of the shadows.
Much like his other half, Atrophy is known to use underhanded tactics, such as using civilians as meat shields or even hostages to draw unsuspecting foes into unfavourable circumstances. However, unlike his brother, Atrophy is far calmer and almost impossibly patient. Where Entropy prefers to strike hard and fast, Atrophy prefers to feign innocence and strategize for weeks and sometimes even months at a time in order to strike fiercely at the moment of greatest calm.
Ataxia; the repose. Little is known of Ataxia, aside from the fact that he represents the commandment of repose. One can speculate that upon achieving this dark form, Ataxia will become the true embodiment of the polar opposite of repose. A powerful, relentless creature that cannot be restrained or put to rest. However, until the twins have mastered their biological unification, little can be said aside from speculation. One can assume, that Ataxia will possess both twin’s cruel natures. Sealed away for eternity, it was thought that the ten great demons would never see the light of the mortal realm again. At least, that was the case until a strange phenomenon once again ripped open a pathway between the realm of Shinobi and the Land of Myth. Ever curious, mortals ventured deep and treaded where none should have been able to pass. Niffelheim – at least, an old and ancient realm that they presumed to be Niffelheim. A land where horrors roam free but are unable to leave its inescapable boundaries.
Of course, while the dead are incapable of leaving the realm – humans can do so freely. After all, the grand architect of the realm never considered that such flesh-bound creatures would enter with such hubris, only to believe they could leave unchanged. Such was the case with a small group of Kusa researchers, who accidentally stumbled across the horrifying realm in question during their routine studies of the mysteries behind the Land of Myth.
It was during this accidental expedition, that one human touched something that he shouldn’t have. Weakened but not wholly exterminated, a fragment of Ataxia’s sealed essence poured from the ancient relic and into the human at that moment. Soul altered and unknowingly corrupted, the man returned from the expedition to later reunite with his family. It was much later, over several generations, that Ataxia’s curse grew strong enough to almost completely corrupt a single fetus in the womb of a mundanely compatible woman.
However, unable to fill the vessel with the entirety of his cursed power, the fetus split to create two where there should only have been one. Two cursed children, each bearing a fragment of the demon Ataxia’s sinister power. Born seemingly mundane, the soul-bound twins shared a great destiny and purpose. Growing up, they could feel the demonic blood flowing through their veins offering them assistance and guidance. Tossing aside their human names, they eventually took up the mantle of Entropy and Atrophy – Ataxia’s ever faithful servants.
Bound by the rules and laws of the realm of Shinobi, the twins knew to never truly give in to their full demonic sides. Not when this weak. Remaining mostly human, they were able to intermingle amidst human society. Over the years, they gained the knowledge of the humans. Even knowledge of Chakra, all to further their strength. The twins prize nothing more in this world than the slow and purposeful pursuit of power. All in order to one day grow powerful enough to become worthy vessels for Ataxia’s return.
