The more these people talked, the further Yu got from a conclusion that made any sense. Magic, spirits, a God King, demonic possession. Their exclamations were fantastical, but she expected the truth leaned somewhere toward the mundane.
Not that the belief got her any closer to answers, but it kept her head level where perhaps it should have been underwater.
Yu was looking between the trio and attempting to put together the pieces of a very strange puzzle when the guy who wet himself and kept babbling nonsense threatened to kill them. Her back went straight with tension, and she immediately regretted her decision to stow all of her possessions in her backpack - including her weapon.
Because apparently I'm an idiot. She ground her teeth and put her back to a wall so she could slide away from the nutjob without leaving herself exposed to danger. The lighted hallway was a less than ideal place for a fight, but it at least meant he could only come at her from one direction.
Seeing the other woman in a fighting stance prompted her to push slightly off the wall and stand behind her, but off to one side. Her immediate thought was to throw a shadow net to hamper his vision, but that seemed pointless given their close quarters.
Yu held her breath as she watched the 'God King' reach for the tip of the rapier... only to throw himself on the ground and scream like a child. She stared blankly at him, wondering if this was some sort of act to get their guard down. Her eyes flickered toward Bhastwick, as much in question as to make sure he wasn't still trying to escape.
I guess the best way to placate a child is... Slowly slipping her pack off her back and down one arm, Yu used the other to reach in and fish out a chocolate bar. She went to throw it to the man but decided to open it first, hoping the smell might catch his attention. Once she tore open the wrapper, she tossed it to the manchild - or on him, rather. That seemed only slightly less dirty, but she didn't have much choice.
