The rolling hills of the bear country spanned as far as the eyes could see. The desert of wind was on one side, and the harsh mountains of earth on the other. There stood a man, taller then most anyone would have ever seen, sitting in the dirt with a gourd on his back. The silver gourds refracted sunlight causing a glare from a distance. The man twitched slightly, and then his eyelids slowly parted. The man was Kinzoku Sabure, the silver shifting sand of change. As the ninja began to stir, his right hand lifted above his head and reached behind his back, taking hold of the metallic gourd resting there. With one fluid motion the arm came forward, launching the gourd forward. The gourd felt as light as air to Kinzoku, but as the metal left the radius of his now suppressed magnetic field, it’s real weight became apparent. It came to the ground with a crash, nearly burying itself in the hard earth. As the gourd sat there in the earth, it began to disintegrate into a silver powder that fell to the ground. A pile formed where the gourd should have been, and no longer was this mere gourd just an encumbrance, it was now Kinzoku’s weapon of choice.

Kinzoku finally rose from his seat, brushing the dirt from his clothing. He took an extra moment to adjust the tapestry hanging from his waist. It was his goal. To inspire people to overthrow those that held the power given them to tightly, the tapestry would be his flag, rising to signal his goals accomplishment. After he finished adjusting his garments, Kinzoku picked up the scroll he had been reading earlier and looked it over one last time, before replacing it in his separate knapsack full of supplies. This technique would assist him in subduing those that would subdue others. He began running the handseals through his hands, Dog, Dragon, Rat. They were easy to someone of his experience and after a moment the handseals were known by heart and preformed in an instant. His hands flicked through them as fast as lightning fell from the sky.

The handseals were always the easy part; his training had shown him that. The real challenge was about to begin. He needed to actually perform the jutsu. Setting himself about a foot away from the pile of metal that had been his gourd, with his feet shoulder length apart. Then he released his control on his magnetic field and allowed it to expand slightly. It had taken him a long time to learn to control it at this level, but it was worth it. He no longer had to worry about people running in terror when his field caused their stuff to fly away from them, or worse into them. He was control now. He was a variable magnetic storm of power. He forced his magnetism into the pile of silvery sand, molding it to his will. Out of the sand rose three metallic statues. They were the same height as him, and the same shape, but one could easily tell the difference by their grainy texture, and silver color. This was obviously wrong. He needed them to look like him. He released his control and began to contemplate his error.

After a moment of thought, He could feel his throat cracking with its dryness. The day was hotter then most, and the sun glared down with a vengeance. His water cooled his sore throat, and felt like a cool breeze on a summer day. It refreshed him. That slight break was what he needed apparently, because immediately afterwards he got an idea about how to make the clones look proper. He had learned a technique in his brief stint in the academy, and if he applied those basic principles now, it would solve his immediate problem.

He headed back over to the still silver pile. It was much hotter over here due to the pile reflecting the suns rays. This was one of the reasons he got the idea though. He figured that since the bending of light mainly formed sight, all he would have to do was change the way the light reflected off of the clones to make them look like him. No simple task, but thankfully this was no simple shinobi. The simplest thing sometimes solved the most difficult of problems. This solution proved to be something that ninety percent of all shinobi would be able to do, but none would realize they should.

Placing his feet shoulder length apart again, Kinzoku expanded his field one more time. The combination of magnetism and chakra was like the sweet flow of life coursing through his body. It beckoned him to exert more power, but he needed his control. Control was something he fought bitterly, but ironically enough control was also his weapon, used to make his power grow. The chakra coursed through the sand, making it glow slightly, and again the same Kinzoku-like statues formed, their lifeless eyes staring at nothing. Then Kinzoku focused the most insignificant amount of chakra into the outer area around the clone. The clone’s form began to shift. Looking at the clone was like looking at the air above a sidewalk on a hot summer day. There were waves of distortion emanating from it. It was just the effect Kinzoku expected. Almost immediately the clones transformed into something very familiar. They looked exactly like Kinzoku.

His plan to make the clones his doubles had worked. Using the normal academy clone technique was a simplistic stroke of genius he thought, as he mentally patted himself on the back. After releasing his flow of chakra into the clones and retracting his shield, the clones fell back into the metallic sand. Something had gone wrong. Either he missed something or wasn’t doing something that he thought he did. Any other clone technique he had ever seen had had the clones moving around freely after the technique was preformed. His technique created little more then useless statues. Something was wrong, and Kinzoku had to figure out what.

He went back to his original seat to contemplate this clone problem. The sun was setting, causing a brillient orange glow to appear in the sky, and Kinsoku paid it no mind. His thoughts were else where. They were locked on the problem at hand.

Now that Kinzoku had established the basics of making the clones and having them appear the necessary way, he needed to hammer out the intricacies. The main problems he was having now were keeping the clones together after his field was diminished, and making them move on their own. This would prove to be no simple task. Having nobody to explain to him the way of doing things, Kinzoku was at a disadvantage. This was something he liked to think of as an advantage in a way. It increased his deduction skills making him sharper, more able to see the truth and possibility in things. It also allowed him to put his own spin on things. His thoughts usually brought about results, but in this case nothing was coming to him. He decided that if he studied his methods more he might find a way to make the technique work, so he stood and took his place by the iron sand.

After expanding his magnetic field and readying his chakra, he preformed the handseals, Dog, Dragon, Tiger. With that the sweet feel of chakra flowed from him and into the sand. It lifted again as before. Three statues of almost the exact same likeness as Kinzoku formed. He did not bother making them look like anything more then metallic sculptures of himself; he could change that easily enough now. His primary focus was making them functional. They needed to be able to move without him wasting so much chakra in doing so. He contemplated this conundrum a moment while staring at the lifeless clones. The sun flew across the sky as if the world was in fast forward. It would be dark soon, and Kinzoku needed to setup camp for the night, but he would not leave this technique like it was. If he did it would plague him in his dreams, and cause him anger, and anxiety that would just hinder him further tomorrow.

As he stood there thinking about the terrible nights sleep that most likely awaited him, Kinzoku’s brain lit up. He had the spark of an idea. He had been so foolish. He knew that simplicity was the most necessary component for most training, and he had overlooked a perfect opportunity to make this technique simpler. If he changed his formation of the iron sand, and instead of forming a solid human form, he made a hollow one; it would cut the weight in half. This would mean less chakra needed to control it and to maintain it. It would not weaken it much because of the durability and tenacity of iron sand. This idea might just be his ticket to the end of this technique.

Kinzoku released his present hold over the sand, causing it to fall to the ground in a pile. Then reforming the handseals and forcing the chakra back into the sand, he reformed the clones. This time they were different though. Instead of being thick, and solid, they were a durable outer shell, with a hollowed out center. This idea had potential. Though he still could easily lift them with his magnetism when they were solid, this made it a lot less strenuous. There was still something missing. How would they move on their own? There was no simple answer to that, until he thought of the rest of his techniques. That was the key. One technique in particular, the ballistics core technique. It allowed him to leave a stored amount of chakra in the sand and have it explode the iron sand, causing a shrapnel-like effect. That was it. If he charged the empty space inside the clone with chakra, then it could use it as a type of battery. That could be the chakra it fed off of to move on its own, he would just need to control it. This idea seemed promising enough.

He began by trying to place the chakra inside the already existing clones, but failure wasn’t a strong enough word for what happened. Instead of the clones holding together, they actually expanded, and weakened the bond the magnet had given them, causing them to fall to the ground in their original sand-like state. Obviously this meant that the clones needed to be infused with chakra before they were finished forming. He reformed the handseals and while pushing his chakra into the metal shavings, Kinzoku set an extra amount of it in as well. The extra was meant to stay away from the other chakra being used, so it could be saved, and the process worked. Immediately after forming them, the three clones began moving without Kinzoku’s manipulation of the magnetic shield. They ran around and basically did whatever Kinzoku thought they should, that is until he released his field.

As soon as the magnetic field retracted, the clones fell to dust. Well, more precisely metal shavings. Apparently the chakra bond was not something strong enough to hold out without the magnetism assisting it. It was extremely good that he found this out sooner rather then later. What would have happened if he had made a strategy and was relying on the clones to leave his magnetic field? It would have been an unhappy time for him. After a few more moments of thought and recuperation, Kinzoku reformed the clones and had them make his camp. They each were much slower and clumsier then Kinzoku, but all together they did it faster, and with less work on Kinzoku’s part.

The clones disappeared and Kinzoku sat down by the newly made fire, and began to eat the food they had prepared. It was very bad, but eatable. Then after tossing water on the fire, and fighting the chilling night air, he crawled into bed and rested his head on the pillow. His thoughts were not plagued by the clone technique anymore, but more so by the thoughts of the future. There was something heading his direction and he was unsure of it’s intentions for him, or the world.

These little triangles continue to hover around the user and provide an offensive and defensive orbit. If an enemy were to come to close, the triangles can proceed to attack by colliding into the enemies body, Or can be used to deflect throwing projectiles by colliding into them. If the user wishes to add more Triangles, they can relearn this jutsu and add 3 more triangles to the orbit. (Maximum of 15 all together)

Kinzoku awoke the next day after a very restful nights sleep. His thoughts had not been plagued with any thoughts of things he needed to do for once, and instead only brought good dreams. The dreams were sweet, and helped refresh mind. The hours of training yesterday had been enough to slow him down, but this invigorating feeling set him back to work. He sat up inside his tent and look out the partially opened flaps. Rain drizzled from a dark sky, full of cracks of light blasting towards the ground. That must have been his weird feeling last night. A lightning storm was on the horizon, and its electrical charge had alerted his magnetic field. Kinzoku never enjoyed rain, or lightning storms for that matter. They only made him think of his home country of lightning, a place he could not return to until it was to liberate his clan. While sitting on his bedroll with his legs under his blanket, Kinzoku reached over to his knapsack and removed the same scroll he had been learning the clone technique from earlier.

It was very worn from constant use, and as he unraveled it slightly it sounded as if the slightest touch would make it crumble. He held it tentatively, not wanting to ruin it and began to read the contents. This scroll contained almost all of his now enslaved clans jutsu, and he was determined to master it. He found were the clone jutsu was listed, and though he figured he could still improve it slightly, he skipped past it to the next one. The Satetsu Kidou. This technique would give him quite the offensive weapon, and he needed such things. He had very few useful talents when it came to combat, and this would hopefully increase them. Kinsoku began to study the aspects of the technique intensively. Kinzoku would need to head outside to truly master the technique, but he wasn’t going to chance it in this storm. Instead of really putting his full force into the technique, he would try using it in here first.

It took him relatively little time to learn the handseals of this technique. There were only two, and after a while he flicked through them as if they were nothing. His iron gourd was laying relatively close beside his bed, so he released its seal partially. Not much iron sand came forth, but just enough to possibly form one of these little triangle things. Kinzoku then lifted the small amount of sand using his magnetism and moved it, so it rested at the foot of his bedroll. He expanded his magnetic field just enough to cover the inner part of the tent, and began forming the handseals. Dragon, Rat, and then he forced a fairly small amount of chakra into the sand. It began to shift, each grain shaking out of time with the others. The sand lifted into the air, a big mass of dust filled particles. Then, as Kinzoku began to concentrate more and more, the sand rotated in mid air. Each grain seemed to hover there momentarily, and Kinzoku realized that he needed to force the particles together with his chakra, while lifting them with his magnetism. This was generally how most of his techniques worked, and he felt slightly moronic for not trying this to begin with, but he chalked it up to the fact that he just woke up and continued.

Slowly but surely the particles came together. The previous gaps through which the storm outside could be seen began closing. Inch by inch, second by second it began to take shape. Though it was still very rough, and not quite the stated triangular shape necessary, Kinzoku had so far been successful with this attempt. The sand was in a near perfect replica of the shape and size it should have been. The problem arose though. Before Kinzoku had any time to truly analyze his work, “BOOM!!!” An enormous eruption of light and sound echoed through the area. From a distance smoke began to rise from the area around Kinzoku’s tent.

The light cracked through the slits in Kinzoku’s eyes as they began opening. The blurred world slowly came into focus. He could see the blue sky, with slowly retreating black clouds on the horizon. His tent lay in cinders around him, a skeleton of its former self. Kinzoku was lying on his back. He could feel the moisture of the earth and his clothing mixing to form mud. The last droplets rolled off his face, and landed on the charred ground, muddy ground. Kinzoku began to stir, but he felt like a lead weight. His arms slowly lifted, followed by his head, and lastly his back. He sat up with an effort that should not have been present, and felt like a bus hit him. His iron gourd had rolled a few feet away, and the sand he had been using to practice his technique was scattered about. Then he felt a slight dripping coming from his face. The thick red fluid leaked down his head, from a gash above his eye. Without a seconds thought he began to bandage it. As the time passed a realization hit him. The lightning. It was stupid to have used is magnetic field in a lightning storm. Especially a lightning storm that he had forgotten to gauge the polarity of. He had turned into one giant lightning rod.

After fixing his cut, and making a mental note to himself about his stupidity, he took a seat back down on the burnt bedroll. He would need a new tent eventually, or at least some shelter. Putting the new found chores to the back of his head, he stood completely and nearly fell from the dizziness. His muscles were all stiff and tired. He should have probably rested, but as said before, he could never rest peacefully when in the middle of training a technique. The storm was gone now, so there was no chance of him being zapped again. Kinzoku expanded his shield and again lifted the sand he had had earlier from the surrounding area. It was moist, but that didn’t make it any heavier, that was its power over sand. The particles floated into the air, and after applying chakra it began moving together, forming a triangular mass. The triangle was perfect. It was smooth, and pointed, perfect replica of the technique. Now he needed to do this 4 more times.

Apparently that shock was just what he had needed. It knocked something loose, because Kinzoku was doing this technique with minimal effort. He focused on his gourd, and almost instantaneously it shifted into sand. The sand from it flew up into the air and began floating there. Kinzoku focused his chakra into it and began moving it together. Each particle slowly shifting to Kinzoku’s will. They were forming his new technique ever so slowly. Too slowly. That was going to be his next problem to correct, but first he had to finish gauging how much chakra would be necessary to finish the technique. With that information he should be able to form them quickly by just adding extra. It was a simple tactic that he hoped it would work.

His chakra flowed from him and after a moment three of the triangles were completely formed and controllable. He let the sand fall to the ground and took a seat. His wrecked body felt like breaking apart. He crawled on hands and knees over to his water bottle and sipped the cool crisp fluid until finally his thirst was quenched. Laying on his side for a moment, Kinzoku watched as the clouds floated by, and he thought of new training methods for his technique.

Kinzoku’s eyes slowly opened to the sun hanging high over head. He had fallen asleep and who could blame him after getting hit by lightning. He slowly pulled himself to a sitting position, and stretched his worn and weary muscles. He trained and trained and had yet to see any noticeable difference. Or, was I that the training brought on many insignificant changes? This was a question to be answered, but not one Kinzoku needed to answer. He was too engrossed in the matter at hand. After his close completion of the technique earlier, it was time to continue, and hopefully master it.

Kinzoku didn’t bother standing; he could do everything from the much more comfortable sitting position. The sun shifted from rising in the sky to setting, and Kinzoku continued his training. It was grueling. He had to force himself to continue. The sand lifted and his chakra forced it together. It began to form faster, more triangular shapes, but with every one he made perfect, another of the five fell from perfection. He realized his lack of chakra. He would not stop for something so minuscule though. The hours hurtled onward. Time waited on no man, and Kinzoku was no exception. He mustered his reserves and sallied forth. The iron sand was ever vigilant in its attempts to make him fail. Constantly falling and moving away from its intended location. “Erghhhhh”, Kinzoku began to growl as frustration mounted. Slowly and surely the day vanished, but the silver shifting sands never faltered. He would own this technique, and he would own the land, to shape it to the image of freedom he deemed necessary. This technique was a stepping stone on the way to such a goal.

He was finally gaining the ability to keep four out of five triangles together, but was having extreme difficulty with the fifth. Sweat covered his forehead and ran down his chest. His previously wet cloths began to feel the same way once more. “I won’t allow this to end in such a fashion!” roared Kinzoku as he unleashed his remaining chakra store. The chakra surged forth, nearly causing Kinzoku to fall to his knees from a combination of already exhaustion, the injuries from the lightning strike, and the sudden loss of nearly all his remaining energy. *Huff, Huff* Kinzoku’s vision began to blur, but with the last thing his fading sight saw, he noticed five perfectly triangular figures rotating in mid air.

Daybreak. A time for new beginnings. A time to find out what presents the night has left in its wake. Some are happy mornings, and some mornings are like those found at a funeral. Bleak and full of loss. Fortunately for Kinzoku, it was a pleasant day indeed. He awoke, and after struggling with moving himself, straightened and stood. He flashed the handseals, and almost instantaneously the five triangles formed. He smiled, and let them fall to the ground, releasing his polarity field. Then without another word, or action, Kinzoku walked over and rummaged through his damaged belongings, finally finding something to sustain his growing hunger.

The iron sand begins to reform and reshape into a medieval "Iron Maiden". Only the eyes of the opponent are exposed during this. Within seconds, the iron sand on the surface turns inward and begins to form spikes which impale the enemy all over there body(head to toe), killing them very fast or slow if the user wishes so.

The few days after Kinzoku finished his last training passed by quickly. He spent almost the entire time recuperating from the lightning strike and finding something to act as a roof over his head. The nights were cold, and the days hot. The food was bitter and the water dirty. Kinzoku was on hard times at the moment, and realized maybe it was time to find a tiny town to rest in. It pained him to rely on things like that, it proved his weakness, but before he would event consider actually leaving he would need to do something to honor his clan. He would have to learn and master their signature move…the iron maiden. It was one of their most deadly and revered techniques passed down throughout generations, and though he had not grown up as one of his clan, he would honor their customs. His forefathers will be made to be proud of him, and he would not quite till the clan he was sadly never a part of was free of their oppression.

Filled with his new vigor, Kinzoku stood on his still slightly shaky legs and started to walk around to stretch a moment. That lightning injury hadn’t quite healed yet, but was close. This wouldn’t require much physical movement anyway, possibly just a few flicks of the hand. After placing his iron sand gourd gently on the ground, Kinzoku released his hold on it and it fell apart into its original form, a pile of iron sand. “This should be about enough for this technique.” Thought Kinzoku almost questioningly. When he had read about this jutsu in his scroll, it seemed rather difficult. Not only difficult to perform, but to actually use in combat. If it hit it would be an almost assured victory, but it was hitting that was the problem. Most good ninja could easily dodge such an attack. After thoughts of strategy raced through his head, Kinzoku realized that he was just wasting time at the moment. He needed to learn the technique before wasting thought on battle strategy.

Setting himself into position, Kinzoku expanded his polarity field. This was always the worst part of any training. The grueling beginning where everything was an uncertainty, and one never knew what seeds might be sown that would eventually have to be reaped. He was always tentative when beginning an unknown move, never wanting to get hit by some sort of unforeseen crippling backlash. This was probably the most advanced technique he had ever tried, hopefully it wont be the last. His arsenal needed these techniques that could possibly bring pain to the user…. they were the most reliable of all.

Kinzoku slowly and methodically lifted a cluster of sand particles. The polishing of the technique would have to wait, for now he just needed to focus on actually forming the iron maiden. Kinzoku positioned each individual grain at intervals around a nearby rock, being careful to cover it completely. Then, in a rapid burst of chakra, Kinzoku tried forcing the sand particles down as a unit to hold onto the rock. This was the entirety of his first idea on how to train this, and like Kinzoku figured, it failed. The particles moved in unison and touched the rock together, but he could not make them harden, or form the veritable coffin necessary. His first attempt was a flop, but that did not stop him from trying over and over, and over again.

Kinzoku would not be detoured by this latest failure. His clan’s power was his to command, not the other way around. The last attempt had obviously been to much to fast. Maybe a better idea was to try turning the sand into an iron maiden, before actually wrapping something in it. This was when Kinzoku actually realized that he had no clue what an iron maiden actually looked like. He had heard of the torture device of past and found it to be a gruesome tool, but never in all his years had he seen the contraption. This could pose a problem. Without knowing what he was trying to make, how could he make it? Kinzoku immediately set to work. He needed to infiltrate a nearby village for not only supplies, but more importantly any information he could get out of it on the deadly device.

Kinzoku quickly set to work, gathering all of his belongings and packing up his camp. The fire pit he had made was covered in dirt, by a couple short quick kicks to the nearby soil. The chard remains of his tent he left, realizing its uselessness. After gathering his things under his right arm, and securing his gourd to his back, Kinzoku sped off. The area he had been staying in was basically a flat plain of nothing. He ran, and ran until finally a small village, made out of stone houses could be seen. It was a quaint place, with a small party of people flowing around its streets. A few children played in the street, and families laughed. Kinzoku had been using this town as a supply post for a while now, and they new him by appearance. The villagers all slightly feared him, but overall never gave much of a care. He had learned a little about their town as well. Apparently it was a very poor place that survived by mainly mining and as a restocking post for the very few travelers they host. This was how life was supposed to be. Free from the tyranny of those who did not deserve power and living with people peacefully under a common rule. It would be his paradise, if he didn’t have a mission to accomplish.

Climbing down from his perch on the hillside, Kinzoku made his way nimbly forward. The town grew bigger as he drew nearer and his anticipation grew. A few children must have noticed him, because saw one point his finger in Kinzoku’s direction, and then the boys mother forcibly took him inside their house. Kinzoku didn’t mind, it had been happening all his life. He knew his imposing figure frightened most people and it no longer bothered him…..for the most part. As Kinzoku reached the edge of the village a man greeted him saying, “Back already big guy? You must eat a lot if you finished al your supplies already.” It was not meant to be rude, or mean, but the man had upset Kinzoku a little. But Kinzoku let it slide because this village always left him in a good mood.

The unpaved streets felt natural against his ninja boots. As he walked, some people ducked inside their houses, but most paid no mind. Kinzoku approached the library, a small granite building and began his search for the book he would need to lead him to his goal. The research was annoying. Flipping through countless pages and constant stinging paper cuts were all he received after the first hour or so. He got so angry that he had to ask the librarian, and as it turns out, they had no books on the subject to her knowledge……”SONOFABIT”, Kinzoku began to yell, but was interrupted by a thounderous “Booomm!!”

Kinzoku’s eyes began watering at a combination of dust and smoke. The itchiness was almost unbearable. He tried to see the source of the disruption, but it was to no avail. At the moment his entire world was just a blur. The slits that he was able to create in his eyelids did nothing but close almost instantly. He could hear the previously quiet and calm librarians voice roaring with anger. “What is the matter with you?!!!” Kinzoku began to think he was in trouble, but after a moment of realization, he could tell that it was not him who the librarian was yelling at. He wiped his eyes profusely, and as he did the light and shone through. His vision cleared and he was staring at the tiny librarian, screaming at a young boy. The boy had a book in his hands, and his back was to what should have been the eastern wall of the building. It should have been the eastern wall, but wasn’t. Not to say it was the western wall, or anything of that nature, it was no longer a wall. The wall had become a pile of rubble on the ground. The boy stood there with an almost dead look. It seemed to Kinzoku that it was a look of despair. Almost as if the boy had just been in the wrong place at the wrong time, and he looked like he might wet himself if left in such a predicament much longer.

Kinzoku realized that if they had no information he needed; then he didn’t need to be in the way while this little firecracker of a lady was on a rampage. He turned from the sight and began heading out of the library, when suddenly an unfamiliar feeling gripped him. It was nothing that he had ever felt before. It was, for lack of a better word, evil. The only thing that he could categorize it as is evil and foreboding. He began twitching slightly at such a feeling. If Kinzoku didn’t know any better, he would have almost thought he was frightened. What did he have to be frightened of? He is power. He is the embodiment of change. He new this to be true, but even so…. something made him weary. He needed to investigate such a phenomenon. What could be causing him, of all people, such an uneasy feeling? He walked toward the wall, or rather the hole in the wall. He ignored the babbling of the librarian and the odd looks given by the near terrified child, and peeked his head inside. It was dark, and smelled stale. “You got a flash light ma’am?”, asked Kinzoku towards the librarian. It seemed like his low-pitched voice startled her, because she jumped at the question and briskly walked, almost in a huff, towards the desk. Upon her return she placed one cylindrical end in his hands. After checking it’s batteries, Kinzoku stepped inside the hole.

Cobwebs littered the area. As he walked he left footprints in the dust. Nobody had been down here in ages. He scanned across the entire room he had entered, flashlight lighting a small section at a time. It was quite the big room. He must have been right in his thoughts that the floor had a slight downward slope in it, because this had to be underground or else it would be easy to tell something was here from the outside of the building. As he scanned the room he noticed something gleam from the flashlights glow. He headed towards it and wiped some dust away with his hand. He had found his goal.

Kinzoku was ecstatic about the development. He had found just what he had been looking for. It was an actual, honest to goodness Iron Maiden. He needed to study it. It was the perfect opportunity to gain the information he needed, but something continued to plague him, what was it doing here? To his knowledge this village had not existed during the great ninja war, and once built it became a peaceful place for travelers and the occasional missing ninja to lay low. He left the decrepit underbelly of the library and finally reached the entrance. Apparently the librarian had stopped yelling at the boy all together and had begun to accept an excuse of the wall just falling over. “Ma’am. What was here before the library was built?” The librarian looked at him with a questioning scowl. “You think I am old enough to know that? Kids these days, always being fresh. Well, I don’t know but I can find out for you. It should take only a few hours. In the mean time, what did you find down there?” She was quite the quick one, going straight for what she wanted to know. She almost reminded Kinzoku of himself. “There is nothing down there you should worry about. I will take care of it for you.” She didn’t seem to accept it as an answer, but apparently it would do for now.

Kinzoku quickly set to work, cleaning and polishing everything in the anti-chamber of the library. It turned out to be quite the workstation. There were tables on the eastern and western side; the iron maiden directly in the center of them, and on the northern wall, opposite the iron maiden was a cell. This had all the makings of a torture chamber. It made sense that something like this was left over from the war in a remote location, but it was too much of a coincidence that the library had been built on top of it. To figure this out though, he would need to wait on the librarian’s research, which for the moment took a second place to his own.

It took about three hours to completely clear out all the cobwebs, and dust in the room. It was a job and afterwards Kinzoku was covered in a putrid combination of dust and sweat. But in the end it had readied him for the most useful thing he could do in this library, the study of the iron maiden. It was such a beautiful contraption, even though it was created for a gruesome purpose. One must not blame the tool for the users usage, and the same could be said for the iron maiden. Just because people were killed by its clutches doesn’t mean its beauty should be over looked. Its sleek design almost beckoned him forward. And forward he went, ready to learn what this technique really had to offer, and gain the knowledge to perform it.

Such an awe-inspiring contraption. The iron maiden was a marvel to Kinzoku. It encompassed the skill of a master forger, and the deadly mind of a mad man. What diabolical person would create such a marvel? The iron maiden was made completely out of treated iron. Made to never tarnish, no matter how much blood it absorbed. On the outside it had a women’s figure, a women waiting to hold tight to the man she embraced. It was more like a black widow. It’s insides nothing but death. The front opened almost like the lid of a coffin and inside the lid there were foot long spikes. These spikes were countered with a set of foot long spikes coming out of the back wall of the device as well. It was death in a box. Wrapped up in a neat package waiting to be delivered to an unsuspecting victim. It was perfect.

Regardless of the perfection Kinzoku was staring at, he still had no idea how the device worked. He understood that as you closed the lid, the spikes impaled someone on them, but how did one completely close the lid? The spikes were each a foot long, much longer then the depth of the maiden. This meant that it wouldn’t close all the way. Kinzoku needed to understand why. He began opening and closing the heavy lid. It only took him a few tries to figure out why it was closing all the way. The spikes weren’t mirror images of each other. They were placed so that a spike from the lid would go in between two from the back, and the same the reverse way. Simple yet effective. He also noticed the slight incline the maiden was on so that the door would close on its own. This would prevent many mistakes from happening.

His research was going splendidly. The iron maiden was beginning to unravel for him. “It would not be hard making such a thing with my iron sand”, thought Kinzoku. Oh how wrong he was. Such a device, that is so simple in design, can often be quite complex to duplicate.

The hours flew by and Kinzoku had finally finished his understanding of the contraption. It was ingeniously simple. All he would have to do now is learn to shape his iron sand instantaneously into the iron maidens form. Not to tricky. Just something that would require practice. He decided that the room he was in would be sufficient for his needs, so he placed his iron gourd on the ground and extended his polarity field. Then he released his control on the gourd, causing it to break down into a pile of iron sand. He began by raising a small section of the sand up into the air and placing it around the iron maiden. He did this section-by-section, starting with the head and moving down to the feet. In the end his sand covered the entire contraption. There was not a piece showing. Kinzoku had completed a perfect mold. He then released the control on the sand and let it fall to the ground. Now he had the basic idea of what the sand needed to be formed into, so all he’d have to do now is actually form it.

Quickly concentrating his chakra into the sand, it rose up into the air and began to form the iron maiden. It began taking the shape, but it took quite a long time to even become remotely similar. It finally got the head part down, and the body started coming into focus. He was really sweating now. His chakra control, and magnetic control was being taxed to the utmost. He refused to quit though. This technique was his clans most powerful weapon in heated combat, and he would learn it or die trying. Better to die trying to master something needed, then dieing at the hands of an enemy because you were to lazy to finish. He needed to continue, for the sake of his dream, and his clan. The sand finally molded into the shape of the iron maiden after much struggle. He let it hover for a moment, thinking about what he would do to test it. Finally he figured he would just take the maiden and wrap it around one of the tables, hopefully crushing it to splinters.

The iron maiden hovered closer to the table, extremely slowly, and upon arrival opened its lid. The lid closed down on the table, but Kinzoku heard no sound. No shattering, nothing. He reopened the lid, and the table was found, without a scratch. What had gone wrong? He had no idea. Then he realized, “F**K, I FORGOT THE D*** SPIKES!!!” He roared this in anger of his stupidity and slapped his forehead, as if it would shake his brain awake.
