Marii looked at her bird before looking back at the jutsu that was written in the book named ‘Animal companion jutsus’. ‘I have 50 TP’s with this guy....what jutsu can I learn....WOW!’ thought the girl.
‘I can learn how to speak birdtounge!!! COOL!!!!’ thought the Kazeraikou, a huge grin spreading up on her thin face. “Hey Daiki-kun....do you know a place were a lot of birds of prey are?” asked the girl. Surprisingly, Daiki nodded. He flew off her shoulder and outside the inn. The brunette followed him, and they went into the forest. They went deeper and deeper into it, and suddenly, they were standing in a small clearing.
The Coopers hawk let out some loud squeaks. Suddenly, the girl heard several wings flop. In a few seconds, several birds of prey were sitting in the trees around her. Falcons, hawks, owls and even a few eagles sat there, looking at the human. “Uhm...hello?” said the Cloud nin. ‘Now I know how animal companions feel in a mass of people’ thought the girl.
She climbed up in the nearest tree and sat on a branch, which was occupied by a white-tailed eagle she had seen before, plus a peregrine falcon, common kestrel and a snowy owl. “Hello. How are you doing?” asked the Chuunin. The eagle lolled his head. “OK. I’m here to learn your language...I know it sounds silly, but I want to learn how you are speaking” said the girl. Her Coopers hawk let out some squeaks. Hopefully, none of the birds would attack her. Luckily, they either nodded approvingly or nudged her.
“OK Daiki-kun....can you ask the common kestrel here how ‘shinobi’ is pronounced in falcon language?” asked Marii, scratching her head. The common kestrel let out some dark squeaks. The girl tried to mimic them, but failed miserably. The bird let out some small squeaks, probably their version of laughing. The Kazeraikou tried again, and it went a little better. “Can you please say it one more time?” asked the girl, looking at the brown bird.
The bird of prey squeaked one more time. The girl tried it out, and it was nearly perfect. ‘If I can go one octav higher, I might be able to do it right’ thought the brunette and squeaked once more. The kestrels yellow eyes lighted up, and he (judging from the plumage, it was a he) flied up on her shoulder and nudged her somewhat hollow cheek with his beak. “A ha ha, thanks” laughed the girl.
The next out was the falcon language. “OK Daiki-kun....can you please ask the peregrine falcon to say ‘shinobi’?” asked the Cloud nin. Her animal companion squeaked, looking at the small bird next to her. The falcon let out a somewhat hoarse squeak. The girl tried to mimic the sound, but failed. Her voice had been a little to hoarse, so she decided to try again.
This time, it was pretty similar to the peregrine falcons squeak. “Can you please say it one more time?” asked the Chuunin, ice blue meeting dark chocolate brown. Surprisingly, the peregrine falcon let out the same squeak. The girl tried to mimic it, and suceeded. The falcon gnawed on her hand with her beak, but it begun to bleed. “Ow! That hurt” said Marii, trying to find something that she could dry up the blood with.
A somewhat older-looking falcon let out some angry squeaks, looking at the falcon next to her. The bird lowered his head (judging from the size, it was too small to be a female), and suddenly flew away. The larger falcon landed on the girls lap, and pulled out some small feathers. ‘What is she doing???’ thought the girl. The falcon pointed with its beak on the small feathers it had pulled out, and then pointed on her wound. ‘Oooh....she want me to use the feathers as a gaz or something!’ thought the Kazeraikou.
She laid the feathers on the wound. The other peregrine falcon returned, and held some eucalyptus leaves in his beak. The girl squeezed the juice out of the leaves, and cleaned her wound. Then, she laid the feathers on it and rolled a handkerchief around it. “Thanks a lot” said the brunette and patted the falcons on their heads.
Next on the list was the eagle voice. “Can you please say ‘shinobi’?” asked the girl, looking at the white-tailed eagle next to her. She let out a squeak (because of the size, the kuinochi was positive that it was a she), which was a bit deeper than the other families. The Cloud nin tried, but failed once more. She cleared her throat, and tried one more time. It went a little better, but it wasn’t enough.
