The Final Match! Pandoru vs. Raikou!

This was the end of all the battles. It was time for the final match of the Chuunin Exams. And the arena was quite different as well. Having 3 separate floors, this would not only test the fighters fighting abilities, but their abilities to remain out of site from their enemies.

Arena Picture

To start, the bottom floor is one that has water coating the bottom of it, though only is ankle deep. This water is only on the ground floor. There are pillars or pure marble that are scattered throughout, making fighting hard to do on the bottom floor.

The middle floor is one that consists of a soft earthy ground. Various holes are placed throughout to allow for passage through the bottom and middle floors. Slightly hard to move in due to its ability to bounce, one may accidently fall into the bottom floor, if they arent careful. There are fewer pillars, about half of what was on the bottom, to allow for hiding, plus the earth itself, and the holes in the middle of the middle and bottom floors.

The top floor is one that is near solid earth, and can make quite a bit of noise should one be running around on it. However, the entire outer ring is missing, to allow for passage into the middle floor, and at some points, all the way down. On this floor, there isnt anywhere to hide, unless hiding in the middle of the middle and top floors.

On another note, players can enter on any of the floors. There are two doors on each floor. In front of the holes on the top floor, there are small bridges which will be raised the moment the shinobi steps off of it. The shinobi are unable to see which floor their opponent is coming on until after they walk through the door. When they walk through the doors, the lights will be off for 2 posts each, then, for every 2 posts the lights will be on, then go off 2 posts later. It will continue to do this until 10 posts, in which it goes down to every other post.

Pandoru gets the first post.

In your first post, state which door you are coming in, bear in mind that the lights are off, and the rest is up to you. Pandoru is on the left, Raikou is on the right. Now, The Final Match of the Chuunin Exams has begin. FIGHT!

’Interesting set-up…’

Though not yet inside the arena, a few things could be gathered just by standing outside the structure. It had a closed roof, which could mean a few things… there would either be artificial lighting, or no lighting at all. Slender brows knit together, and the puppeteer hummed. The last thought bothered her. She might have had problems fighting what she couldn’t see, but her opponent would have no problems with this, if what Shiro had told her proved to be true.

The building was also tall, though that didn’t really tell her a lot about the internal design. Perhaps it was the way it was to hold many seats? Because surely they wouldn’t disallow spectators in the final match. Releasing a somewhat shaky breath, she made her way inside, wondering just what her opponent would be like, and who might be inside to watch the battle unfold. ’Lash, Shiro… perhaps Tensai-san will be there?’

Dark- dreadfully dark. The redhead scowled once more, stopping in the entry way before actually making her presence in the arena known. The fight had not begun until both challengers stepped foot into the ring, and technically, she was still outside of it. There were no lights yet… shutting her eyes, she allowed her other senses to take over, enhanced due to the lack of one. She felt no presence, and if any crowd was there at the time, they were mute. ’Hn…’ This seemed… almost unfair. But she’d have to adjust. The playing field wouldn’t always be in her favor after all. Her lids slid open, and examining continued as a hand reached into her clay pouch, withdrawing one of the presculpted creatures.

Though the lack of light prevented her from seeing any vital details, her eyes began to adjust, and the shifting of shadows before her revealed the upper level of the area just slightly. ’I’m in front of a bridge… there’s a gap of some kind around this ring… multiple levels perhaps?’ She’d rather not experiment. Right now, she needed to get in the ring, and out of range. In an official graded match such as this, not being formal and polite with her opponent went against all things she had been taught. But as far as she knew… her opponent was already waiting for her, watching, ready to strike. Regardless, etiquette seemed to come first.

One foot set softly against the bridge before her, and one foot only, for as soon as it had been set, Pandoru pushed off, sending herself the rest of the distance across the bridge and onto the hardened arena floor. Light on her feet and her guard up, it was a matter of waiting. Her head would turn slightly, side to side, listening for any signs of her opponent that may give off his location.

'It was almost unfair...'

This was it. This was what Raikou had been training for ever since he left the Academy. This was what he has dreamt about for years. The final bout of the chuunin exams. With Raikou, as the main attraction. While he was ecstatic inside, he was also severely nervous and quite scared. He had no idea who his opponent was, or what the arena was going to be like. His last match was a close one, being every advantage Raikou usually had, his opponent answered. However, whether it be luck or skill, Raikou was the one standing here.

Entering the building, Raikou immediately activated his Byakugan. Suddenly the entire arena became known to him. As he walked to his entrance, he scanned all three floors. Amazingly enough, it seemed the arena was in his favor. There was a large water source for his water jutsus and it was in complete darkness. Raikou didn't celebrate to long however, for it would be up to him to really take advantage of what fate has brought him.

At the door the lead to second floor of soft dirt, Raikou took a quiet deep breath and stepped inside the arena. This match would require stealth, which was something Raikou was fond of. Simply pulling up the snake hand seal, he would activate his Otonai no Jutsu. This would make Raikou's steps entirely silent. Taking another step forward, he would take another peak around. Just then, the powers of his Byakugan would notice a young female ninja standing on the floor above him. Raikou wasn't sure if she knew where he was, however he sure as hell was not going to take any chances.

Preparation would be needed first. Raikou had a large body of water to work with, something he rarely got. It would be important to take advantage. Raikou would quickly bust out a series of hand seals for his Hidden mist jutsu. While it my seem redundant, it would be a carefully planned defensive against light bombs, fire jutsus, or lightning jutsu that could peer through the darkness. The mist would suddenly flow out of the water and funnel up into the upper levels. It would take some time for the entire arena to become shrouded, but Raikou was not in a rush at the moment. Next he would create another series of hand seals, and create five water clones from the water in his gourd. They would flow out and form extra carefully given the stealthy situation. They would surround Raikou in a circle formation.

At the present moment, Raikou really had no way to reach his opponent with out making his presence known. For now he would wait in silence, examining her next move.

Name: Otonai no Jutsu (No Sound)

Effect: Silent walking
Special: Snake handseal
Drawback: None
Description: Focusing chakra to the bottoms of his feet, much like walking on water, the ninja can walk or run over any sort of surface using this chakra as a sort of cushion for his feet, allowing him to move without rustling over leaves or stepping on twigs. This Jutsu only masks the feet, and things that the user may step on. No other part of the body.
Limit: Anyone can learn.

Kirigakure no Jutsu (Hidden Mist Skill)

Description: A skill which creates a very dense fog that descreases the surrounding visibility to near zero. It produces an environment perfect for a silent assassin who follows an opponent through sound. This mist can not be blown away by any type of Wind Jutsu.

Mizu Bunshin no Jutsu (Water Clone)

Description: Mizu Bunshin no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique that utilizes water to create a Bunshin clone. Unlike a normal Bunshin, the Mizu Bunshin has the ability to interact more with the environment due to it having physical substance. This allows the clone to carry out limited attacks on its target. The range of the clone is limited; however, it can not travel very far from the original body. If the Mizu Bunshin is injured, the clone will usually revert back into its natural water state. When first learned the user is capable of having or capable of creating up to Five Clones. Each time learned the user learns this technique the number of Clones is capable of increasing by one. The maximum amount of clones is Ten for the Difficulty Class of D Rank. For each Difficulty Rank Increase the number increases by five of maximum but learning is still one per learned.

Once more the cyan optics would dart about the area, trying to detect any signs of life. Curse this lack of visibility… Well, if her opponent was indeed present, they hadn’t placed themselves on this floor. Not that she could tell anyway. Down below then? Jumping down to investigate would be stupid, as the farther down she went, even less light would be available to her. ’Can’t just stand here.’ It was then that she began to notice a slight… shift in the environment. A thickening in the air almost, which made the need to move all the more urgent.

Not another second was wasted. The bird in hand was tossed up, and no sooner than the smoke had appeared from it’s shift in size had the redhead grabbed hold of the fowls leg, pulling herself up onto its back in one fluid motion. Airborne in the blink of an eye, the Sankuchi commanded her bird to fly higher and out, placing herself in the center of the arena, and too high to reach simply by jumping. She narrowed her eyes, crouching and pressing her body against her creation. Though her nerves had feared the thickening air below her, she was now above, where the air was clean.

Out of harms way, analyzation would come into effect. What had been around her was condensation; a conclusion she drew based on the very slightly damp area around her ankles. Which was interesting, as thing such as fog usually fell, but this had come from the bottom up. Though she still had very limited vision, her eyes shifted down, as if looking through the bird to the arena beneath her. ’They’re underneath.’

With her right hand, a bit more clay would be bitten off and chewed, and in her left, a kunai withdrawn. Patience was just as important as any other shinobi skill, and right now, it would be key.

[Raikou!]

A giant bird???

Peering through the darkness, Raikou witnesses his opponent jump onto some kind of large bird. However it was not a creature, like a normal animal. It was made of something else, with very volatile chakra in side. Raikou also noticed that she did not summon the bird. It appeared from her hand. And interesting ability, that could cause a large problem down the road. It was time to move, before she could create any more beast.

Raikou pulled out five shurikens and handed one to each clone. He then nodded to his clones, and motioned them to action. The clones would burst into movement. All five would run out in a different directions toward the arena walls. In a star like formation they would each jump up against the wall, then jump off the wall to the upper level. Each would stand exactly where they landed, clapping their hands wildly. Sadly, Raikou's clones did not possess the powers of the Byakugan and did not know where their opponent hid. So they instead served as a distraction for now.

His opponent would hear a sudden surge of sound, as the five clones stomp to their destination. Hopefully the sudden calamity would serve as a proper enough distraction. Raikou with his no sound jutsu still activated would mimic one of his clones, and make his way to the upper level. However, the moment his foot would hit the first level, he would flicker to the center, directly under the flying bird. Grabbing two kunai wrapped with explosive tags, Raikou would toss them into the sky. However, before he let them loose he would mix them with a special mix of wind chakra that would give them a boomerang effect. He would throw them wide in two different directions upward. Thrown perfectly so they would circle above the flying beast and clash on the ninja riding it above. He would detonate them the instant they were close enough for the kill.

If his opponent where to bail, or make any sound indicating her position, Raikou's water clones would unleash a shuriken each at her. Hopefully this formation and well planned attack would be enough to end this battle before it could get ugly.

Drawback: The justu lasts only six seconds (one turn) for each weapon.
Description: The user performs the needed handseals and puts their hand on a single weapon. Then, the user focuses their chakra and gives the weapon a boomerang effect. Because the jutsu only lasts six seconds, the jutsu can be repeated numerous times on different weapons.

’Footsteps.’

The room was so silent at this point that she could only hear her own heart beating. Something such as a being landing on the surface below would be extremely easy to pick up. Something was off though, for it didn’t seem as if only one pair of feet had set upon the arena underneath her creation. Multiple places, multiple people… clapping? Though slightly scrunched due to intense concentration, the slender brows now knit together in confusion. What were they doing? Blinking once, she mentally scolded herself, the birds wings flapping powerfully to send her further upwards for better observation. ’Focus. Keep moving.’

And movement was something she had done not a moment too late. An explosion occurred dangerously close to her, beneath her bird, sending her and her creation flying backwards a fair distance. On reflex, the teen sent chakura into her hands and feet, sticking herself to the surface of her sculpture, lest she fall off from the force. The timing, the placement… that was aimed for her head. But how could her opponent see her so accurately without any light? She was far too cautious with the noises she made for them to be able to hear her. Perhaps then… her opponent was the same one Shiro had fought? Byakugan would certainly explain sight in the dark and through this…

’Mist!’

Before she could act, bright lights suddenly filled the area, causing the redhead to flinch. So there was light, apparently rigged on some kind of timed mechanism. Oh, if nothing else gave her a headache, that certainly would. Having her eyes readjust roughly every 20 seconds wasn’t good for the senses. Though her thought process continued on, some swift aerial maneuvers were necessary. With her chakura keeping her tightly against the birds body, fast twists, turns and barrel rolls could be done without fear of falling, dodging the flying shuriken that she could now see. {{Sorry if that seemed… god-modish, but you said that they‘d be thrown upon discovery of her location. I assumed being able to see her was good enough o.o; }}

Though she still had not pin-pointed her opponents exact location, she could only assume he resided below. Assumption alone would not be enough though. She needed to buy a bit more time… into her pouch she reached, withdrawing a porcelain-white kunai. Without wasting another second, the weapon was thrown towards the ground, and her hands slapped together, forming the one seal needed to spark the chakura within and detonate the bomb she’d just released. “Katsu!”

Science was a wonderful thing, for though the mist was thick, it was composed of water, and when light passes through water, it fractures and prisms, making it all the more intense. Should the sudden flickering on of the electric lights not already have tweaked the Hyuuga’s sensitive eyes, surely the Flash Blast released would have done the trick.

[Raikou!]

Raikou would growl with anger as his opponent luckily dodges his first offensive. The explosion would ignite just under neath the flying bird. Just as it did the arena exploded with light, as the house lighting suddenly turned on. Raikou squinted as even his Byakugan felt the sudden change very uncomfortable. The wild flapping of the flying creature gave her location off enough for his water clones to each send off their kunai at her. However thanks to the new light, she was able to dodge all five with some very impressive aerial skills. She was annoyingly hard to reach and very difficult to hit. This would prove to be a very difficult battle.

Raikou would not just stand and watch as his clones attacked and his opponent dodge, he would push the offensive even further. Knocking this girl out of the air was his number one priority as of now. Reaching in his bag quickly, Raikou pulled out two light bombs with exploding tags wrapped around them. (He had a bad habit of lacing every projectile with exploding tags.) Just as she finished her final aerial maneuver to dodge the final projectile from his clones, Raikou would beam the two bombs directly at his opponent and the bird. As he watched their path closely making sure to detonate them perfectly, Raikou caught his opponent throwing a projectile his way as well. Just as he prepared to side step it, it suddenly exploded mid air, sending out a violent burst of light that which was even magnified even more by the mist. He stumbled back slightly and activated his exploding light bombs as well. However he was not sure if they hit their mark, or even if he was close.

It was not very often that a Hyuuga could not see. It is the scariest feeling imaginable for Raikou. He leaped back hard, slamming his back against the wall and falling with a thud to the second level. It was a painful and sloppy maneuver, but he had no choice but to run at that moment. The second he hit the ground, he would roll more to the center, escaping any damage that may come from the gap to the third floor. Raikou's clones stayed on the highest level blinded as well. They would be even more blinded by their creator's explosive light bombs as well. They would simply stand eyes closed, in Raikou's juken stance. They still had Raikou's mind, so they were not completely defenseless. The large bird would bound to make some sort of flapping sound if it dodged the second explosion, or if it were in fact destroyed and the female ninja would land on their level; they would be ready using their sense of hearing.

Raikou squatted on the second floor rubbing his eyes. His first offensive attempt was a complete failure. His opponent was both elusive and crafty. Such head on attacks would not win this match for him. He would stay their regaining his sight for now. Pulling out a single pill from his bag, Raikou would hold it in his hand for later use.

With so many things occurring at once, it was impossible for the teen to catch everything. Though, it would seem that as she released her own projectile, two others would appear from the mist. Spherical objects, though they seemed covered with something… explosives; something that Pandoru herself was quite familiar with. Of course, identification didn’t make avoiding any easier. ’Chikushou…!’ Shutting her eyes tightly, the birds wings flapped powerfully once more. A second too late though, it would seem. The combined force of two hikari bombs as well as two exploding tags was quite powerful, not to mention blinding. She bit back the sounds of pain that threatened to slip from her, her eyes stinging terribly, despite her lids having been shut.

Though the puppeteer’s vision was limited once more, she could still feel obvious wrongs in the environment… such as a sudden loss in altitude. Blurry vision or not, a cyan optic was cracked open, trying it’s best to take in the details of the damaged wing. The tags must have set off too closely; the fowl was useless for flight now. However, it did have other purposes. With a firm shove from her legs, the kunoichi launched herself into the air, as well as sent the clay bird plummeting swiftly to the arena below. Given the size of the bird, if her opponent was still on this level, he’d likely be caught in the blast, as would anything else he may have set up there (after all, it was interesting to have shuriken ‘mysteriously’ thrown at you.)

“Katsu!”

As the burning explosion went off, another presculpted item would be tossed into the air, an owl this time, taking flight as well as an abnormally large size, swooping beneath the kunoichi and keeping her safely in the air as before. She rubbed at her eyes, irritated that it seemed blindness would occur no matter what she did. Lights off, she couldn’t see, lights on, couldn’t see… truly frustrating. Should that bomb hit, she was certain her opponent wouldn’t be able to fight half as well as he could have… but what if he wasn’t on that level at all? There was at least one more, that she was sure of… and she wasn’t particular interested in having to go down after him. Well, there were ways of drawing him out, as well as preventing him from going back. Hand tapping around in her hip pouch almost blindly, her fingers eventually curled around the object she desired. Spherical with an amethyst hue; a gas bomb that would leave him sick upon first breath. Again, the teen was reminded just how indebt she was to Naegi for this wonderful poison. With an underhanded toss, the bomb was thrown lightly into the opening against the wall, dropping it down to the second level, where the bomb would burst and seep its contents into the second floor.

Unbeknownst to the kunoichi, there was a very interesting bonus to the act she had just done. With the Byakugan active, her opponent was able to see through mists just fine with no hindrance to his vision whatsoever. With that in mind, he would stare right through the gas that happened to seep into the mist, should any be down there, keeping the poison completely undetectable with those white eyes active. Not to mention, such an ability also caused the user to see in greyscale, which also hid the unusual hue it had.

And with him blind, the chances of him picking it up were that much slimmer.

Effect: Clay bombs explode with more intensified heat than regular. This heat can cause serious burns

[Raikou!]

Raikou stood on the second floor barely on his feet. Rubbing his eyes and blinking wildly, Raikou tried furiously to regain his sight. Suddenly a large explosion rocked the arena. The first floor shook as dust began to fall upon Raikou's head. Squinting Raikou tried to get a view of what had happened, but it was futile. His vision was still to broken. Just then he heard water splashing onto the second floor from the same exact angles his clones once stood above him. It seemed all five of them were destroyed by some kind of explosion. He sighed quietly to himself. What an opponent. Raikou had never been so pushed back. Never so on the defensive before. But it is expected, for this is the finals of the prestigious Chuunin Exams. He was fighting the best of the best, and it was showing.

With the news of his clones being destroyed reaching his ears, Raikou stood straight up. It was time to move forward again. Raikou hated being on the ropes, it made him sick. It was time to turn this battle around. The greatest thing about Raikou's Byakugan was it's pure power. While a normal set of eyes could only see clear details at most ten meters, his could see at fifty. While his eyes were not at 100%, 20% would do just fine given the scale of the battle. First catching it with his ears, then his blurry eyes, Raikou noticed a small canister hit the ground. Another explosion?! Raikou took no chances. No longer disoriented from the light blast, Raikou pulled up the snake hand seal and began to race against the opposite wall silently. Performing the same steps as before, Raikou would jump off the wall up to the first floor in complete silence.

Suddenly a glimmer of hope. Raikou notices a large shadow moving ever so slightly with in the mist. It was obviously another bird, but there was a small protrusion that ruined it's perfect shape. It must be his opponent riding it. The conditions would have to be perfect for her own shadow not to be cast on the ground. Their would have to be only lights above her. But given the fact their was enough light to upset his Byakugan, their were probably other light perhaps on the walls on angled on the roof as well. This would be what Raikou would need to get a foot into this battle.

Still completely silent, he would let out a flurry of hand seals. His shadow would leap from under his body towards his opponents shadow. The distance was short and the shadow was large due to the height they flew at. His opponent would have no idea that Raikou would be on the first floor. The bomb, or whatever it was, was thrown deliberately to the second floor. She would probably think he was injured below. Also given that she had payed no attention to her shadow once before, she would have no reason to suspect shadow jutsus. He was completely hidden from his opponent.

Raikou would catch the large bird's shadow as well as the girl's shadow. It would probably come as a surprise, and be a bit confusing for them both. The bird would fall from the sky with the girl frozen on top. Finally Raikou would have control...

Kagemane no Jutsu, 影真似の術 (Shadow Imitation Technique)

Skill: NinJutsu
Effect: The signature move of the Nara family, this jutsu allows the user to control their own shadow and merge it with their opponent's shadow, combining them. This links the movements of the user with the target; the target is subsequently forced to make any movement the user makes. It is an extremely versatile technique, as the user can contract and change the shape of their shadow, potentially grabbing multiple targets at once. The degree to which the user's shadow can be stretched is limited by its total surface area.
Special: Seals are used but unknown.
Drawback: Must Be Learned Multiple times in order to truly achieve something grand.
Description: Using the shadows of other objects, the user can extend their shadow beyond its normal range. The amount of time for which an opponent can be held is limited by the user's chakra, since the user must constantly maintain the jutsu. The jutsu is also more difficult to maintain at greater ranges or for multiple opponents, since the user's shadow must be stretched constantly. At closer ranges, it requires considerably less effort on the user's part. Additionally, the target can force their way free with enough effort, though the amount of effort required to do so is considerable. There are two tables or understandings for this technique that consists of the Difficulty class of the User as well as the Opponent, and as to how far the user is capable of using this technique. When first learned the user is only capable of using this technique at a distance of ten meters. Each time this technique is learned the distance increases by another Ten Meters. The user is capable of making their shadow split and by doing so takes up the distance of the total form of the original technique. This means that if a user has this technique to where they can use thirty meters and wishes to make this technique split to three shadows the maximum distance is ten meters per shadow.

Difficulty on Escaping: If the user is the same Difficulty Class as that of the opponent, it takes five rounds for the user to be capable of escaping if they try to escape the whole time. For every rank higher the user is from the opponent the technique lasts for one more round. For every rank the user is below the opponent the number of rounds decrease by one. Now for every two people you trap the technique decreases by holding by one round. This means that if you are a D-Difficulty Class, fighting against two D-Difficulty classes and achieved to where you have caught both of them, you can only hold them for four rounds.

Damn these light blasts. Eyes still irritated, the redhead was having a huge amount of trouble focusing on anything visual. Auditory senses however were just fine. With the sloshing noise that had followed her bang, she gathered that whatever had been left up there with her was a clone of sorts, perhaps composed of water. She couldn’t help but wonder how many exactly had been left there though, or if she had gotten them all. That was a decent amount of water to be heard over the roar of her explosion. Now, where was her opponent exactly?

Clenching a fist, she wondered if perhaps that poison had indeed been enough to do her opponent in. While she herself may have still had a decent chakura supply due to her techniques being prepared before hand, she wasn’t sure just how much energy her opponent had used up.

Splash.

’Hn..?’ Her eyes quickly darted about. Truly, it didn’t matter if they were still affected by the bomb or not; the mist kept her from seeing the floor effectively anyway. Flying above the mist though, her opponent could see her just fine. Of course, due to that blasted doujutsu, her position really didn't matter. This was getting more and more irritating… though the water was oh so convenient for helping her pinpoint her opponent. Though as her eyes settled upon his supposed location, her body stiffened. “Keh…!” Teeth clenched, her fists shook, trying to will her body to move once again. Damnit, she should have known better… just because something isn’t seen doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. Careless, that was her only excuse. This immobility… was this the shadow technique Shiro had mentioned?

Thank god there was a slight detail on her side. Though she herself may have been unable to move, the bird was capable of it’s own actions, free from this possession, for it technically, was an inanimate object. That which she had cursed before became her savior in a matter of seconds, the lights shutting off once again. With no light, there was no true shadow, for shadows cannot be cast without a light source. With no shadow to keep her restrained any longer, Pandoru found her limbs breaking free of this twisted traps. Swiftly her hand moved into her pouch, withdrawing a tag-laced kunai. Listening first for any change in her opponents position, the weapon would be swiftly thrown, and upon nearing the ground, detonated. The key to knowing when that distance was reached was all in timing. Due to being a long-ranged fighter, judging distance was fairly easy for the puppeteer, and an observant glance at the surroundings when the lights were on was all she really needed.

With her attack set, the girl pressed herself tightly against the birds body once more, preventing her own shadow from being cast upon the ground. After all, if the object one hid upon was much greater in size than they themselves were, their shadow would simply cast upon the surface of the object, not the floor below. Airborne and out of reach, she would listen and wait.

A couple of questions. First off, my kagemane would not work on your creation? Quoting the Clay Alteration jutsu "the creation gains life-like properties, such as movement and such, but they are a slave to their creators will." Since they move like real life animals, couldn't I catch them? Second, before the lights when out once again, wouldn't I have at least removed your clay bag? And the final most important part. When the lights go out, wouldn't that just make my kagemane stronger? For lack of a better example, but Fina used to use his kagemane in complete darkness all the time. Most recently in his death thread where it was an accepted move. These are just speculations. I could be completely wrong, but I just wanted to bring them up. Ill ask a examiner to drop his opinion as well. Sorry for the trouble : \

They gain life-like propeties yes, but that doesn't make them alive. They have no blood, no heart, no lungs, no brain capable of their own thoughts, no chakura system of their own. Though they move, they still technically lack life. Tumble weeds move about due to the wind pushing them, but that doesn't make them alive, right? A rock'll move if you kick it hard enough, but that doesn't make it controllable by Kagemane either.

Basically, they only move because an outside source allows them to.

Yes, you could have used that short moment to make me remove my clay pouch I suppose. Though... you didn't include any details about what you would do should Kagemane be successful. So as far as I know, your original intention could have been to just stand there and make me dance :P (not saying you'd actually do that, just giving an example xD) I'll let an examiner or someone determine if they think it's fair for you to to do that in your post as a kind of 'pre-action' before the lights went off. Wouldn't change my attack at all.

As far as I see Kagemane going, there is no light source, thus there is no way to create shadows. Because that's what Kagemane is- shadows, not darkness. I havenn't witness these 'complete darkness' battles that Fina was in, but fighting at night and fighting in pitch black are different. There are still light sources at night, such as stars or the moon, that would cast some minor shadows upon the ground.

Here though, we're given no details of an alternate light source. No windows, nothing. So as far as I can guess, it's too dark to even see your finger when it's touching your nose.}

1. After throughly reading Kagemane no jutsu, no where does it state that the target must be alive in order to control their shadow. Want another example? The same situation was allowed when Fina controlled the shadow of Tatsu's blood cloud from the Hekkijin BL. Unlike Fina however, Raikou did state that he took control of both Pandoru's and the bird's shadow, a statement Fina did not, ergo he was not granted control of both unlike Pandoru's case.

2. Rules clearly state that the lights will turn off and on every two posts. With that said, it was indeed Pandoru's 4th post, hence indicating the lights turn off. Now in Raikou's post, he states nothing about disarming Pandoru of her clay bag, therefore by the next post the lights would have vanished and control would be lost, not allowing him to do so in the next post.

3. The next agenda which has been already brought up by you two is the abilities of shadow. Now do we not know the old time saying: "Where there is light, there will always be darkness. Where there is good, there will always be evil." Or something along those lines. There must be light for there to be shadow. Shadows do not exist, only lack of light, and with that, without light there is no shadow. As Pandoru has suggested, there is no longer light at all in the room once the lights flicker off, therefore it is pitch black. (This may vary however, for the the arena diagram and description state nothing of windows etc allowing light. With that said, a good RP'er may abuse loopholes for their own purposes. Such a loophole was used in Pandoru's first post as he assumed it was described as: "Dark- dreadfully dark.") Therefore the ruling stands, that there are no longer shadows.

Finally we were getting somewhere! Raikou's kagemane hit it's mark and the large bird started to fall from the sky. Raikou smiled as sweat began to drip down his forehead. Time to strike.... Just then, lights off, shadows gone, kagemane deactivated. Dammit! So close to making progress! It seemed this arena was not as favorable as Raikou first imagined. Looking at his opponent, he watches as she lowers herself and pull out a laced kunai. By the look of her face and her body posture, she was ready to chuck that thing at the first sign of Raikou. Something he was not looking forward to.

Raikou was getting tired. He had been moving using his chakra, while she just sat there the entire time on top of her bird. He could tell by her chakra system that she had used little chakra since the battle began. It was time to do something drastic. In his hand Raikou held one of the Akimichi clans fables food pills. He had studied with them long ago, and even gained a considerable amount of weight to use their techniques. However, he had never personally used one. He knew the effects well, and he knew the rest of the battle would not be pleasant once it was used. Hell, it was all or nothing.

Raikou quickly dropped it in his mouth and swallowed. Suddenly a surge of both chakra and pain ran through his body. It was so absolutely intense that Raikou could barely keep silent. There was no time to waste! With the pain still surging through his body, Raikou quickly formed a quick series of seals. Suddenly a single pool of water on the second floor would spring to life on the opposite side. The second the water clone formed, it would jump off the wall and back onto the first floor on the opposite side of floor of Raikou. This hopefully would serve as an appropriate distraction.

She would throw the kunai at his clone, due to the fact he would sound exactly as Raikou would moving. ((OOC: I don't mean to control your character. I am just going by what you said at the end of your post. Just like you did with my clones when they threw the kunai at you.)) The moment the kunai left her hand, Raikou would jump up against the wall and leap at his opponent on the bird. Given the fact that it was at a lower altitude since it fell from the sky while trapped in his kagemane, and the fact that Raikou was currently twice as strong as before, making his leap incredible and fast, he would be upon her with no trouble. She would not be able to see his assault due to the darkness, and she may not be able to hear it due to the explosion from the tag she sent out. It was time to make this Raikou's type of battle, a close combat one.

Midair, diving at his opponent like a deranged animal in pain, Raikou would instinctively activate his Hakkeshou Nankan. On top of his now monstrous strength, he now had the reflexes that rival the sharingan. Hands in the Juken position, Raikou would meet her mid air with his 64 palms...

The movements were quick. The silent popping of a pill, the creation on a decoy clone, and an immediate attack off the opposite wall. Raikou is furious, and out for the win with his most powerful jutsu.

By doing this the user is able to heighten their reflexes. This technique increases both the defensive and offensive capabilities of Jyuuken attacks by speeding up the users natural reaction time significantly.

Drawback: This technique may only be used up to five times a day. In order to do more the user must learn this technique significantly amount of times in order for the user the capability of using the technique. Description: It is a barrier that alerts the user of motion way before the motion reaches the user, a heightened sense of movement. Unlike the Hakkeshou Kaiten, this technique requires much less chakra and doesn't provide an offensive strike, but more of a preemptive strike. It is said that this technique was created to answer the Sharingan's ability to copy and counter taijutsu techniques. When first learned the user is only capable of using this technique of five times per day. Each time learned the user is capable of using this technique once more.

Hakke Rokujuuyonshou (Divination Field, 64 Strikes)

Description: This is a devastating TaiJutsu move that incorporates Jyuuken and the Byakugan. The user imagines a Divination Field with the user at the centre on a YinYang symbol and two more circles around him where there are other symbols at regular intervals on the lines. If an opponent is within the YinYang symbol or on one of the outer symbols then one of Hyuuga's deadliest attacks can be performed. After settling into a wide-footed balanced stance the user attacks 64 of the 361 tenketsu on an opponent's body with a series of graceful carefully aimed finger strikes. First he seals 2, then 4 more, then 8 more and so on until 64 of the chakra openings have been blocked with a tiny burst of chakra. Once this is done the opponent's chakra center shuts down and all major (note: major. The user cannot mold chakra, but does not die) chakra activity stops, causing immense pain and totally incapacitating the victim's body. This critical move, once used, will more than likely end any fight, and is one of the most powerful moves in the Hyuuga arsenal. The only way the opponent will be capable of molding chakra once again is by gaining Medical Treatment.
Limit: Must have knowledge of the Chakra Holes up to Sixty Four Chakra Holes, must have knowledge of the Hyuuga Basic Stance, Must have knowledge of the Hakkeshou Nankan.

With the detection of a new splash, Pandoru’s eyes widened slightly, and the kunai was sent flying from her grip, her body twisting slightly sideways to achieve the needed angle for the throw. As stated, it was detonated shortly after. Though she couldn’t help but become a bit curious… hadn’t her opponent been on the other side?

’Did I get him?’

She could only hope such a thing rang true. It seemed likely, as her senses were keen and her accuracy not half bad either. But if she had, wouldn’t the examiner have flipped on the lights by now and called the match over? The thoughts ran through her head just as the explosion was at its fullest; a marvelous show of shrapnel and bright light. It was nice to be able to see, even if it was for so short a moment. It was however, a moment enough to catch an unnatural shadow being cast upon her creation and a figure in her peripheral vision. Her head turned the lightest bit, eyes widened as the full figure of her opponent settled in her gaze. Well, it seemed her question had been answered.

’Shit!’

The chakura in her feet that was holding her in place was immediately released, the teen planning to make a quick escape. How had he gotten so fast!? It was a wonderfully planned trap, but surely that speed wasn’t natural. It didn’t matter. She needed to move, and she needed to move now. But alas, her wish would not be granted. Who’d have known it would be so terribly painful to be poked? Her teeth clenched, each hit feeling as if flesh was being ripped from her body as the force - was he naturally this physically powerful as well? - caused her to step back with each strike as well. Her bird, after all, was not meant to hold two, which left little room to move. The speed of the attacks couldn’t be followed by her, despite the visible bursts of chakura, but she could guess she had been hit roughly 30 times when her heel hung over the body of the owl. Lack of land… lack of movement… safety!

With the next strike she allowed herself to fall, toppling backwards off of the bird… or had she? The quick focusing of chakura to the feet allowed her to hook onto the clay of her bird, giving the appearance, or in her opponents case, the feeling, that she had fallen off. In reality, the kunoichi now hung upside down, dangling from the underbelly of her bird, but she would not stay there. It was far too dangerous up close. Shunshin {1/3} was used at this point, not even a full second after both feet had been set upon the clay surface, sending the puppeteer six meters away from her opponent and bird, and though this caused her to fall the rest of the way, her opponent would lack the ability to follow with his attack still in motion. Index and middle digit were lifted, while the three remaining curled inward.

’Katsu.’

The force of the explosion was enough to send her quite powerfully onto the arena floor, but her opponent would surely be in for more than just an aching back. Hissing through clenched teeth, she found it excruciatingly painful to do much of anything. Would she even be able to stand if the need arose…?

[Raikou!]

Yes! Yes! Yes! Finally Raikou meets his opponent face to face! With his set up executed perfectly, Raikou met the girl with his 64 palm. Strike after strike was landed with intense fury. 2, 4, 8, 16, 32... done? Suddenly Raikou felt his opponent come loose from his combo and seemingly fall off the bird they once stood on. Seemingly...

Clever girl. Even after having 32 chakra points sealed, she was still able to formulate strategies. A lesser person would have just succumb to the pain, however she was still clear headed enough to plan. With the powers of his Byakugan, Raikou could see that see did not in fact fall, but instead took hold upside down on the under belly of the flying beast. Without skipping a beat, Raikou would follow her down. While his Juken attack was broken, he was still very close and ready to strike again.

Just as he was upon her once again, she seemingly disappeared. However, not an instant later she reappeared mid air roughly 6 meters away from him and the bird. Like a relentless predator, Raikou would flicker as well, directly at under his opponent mid air. It seemed however, his opponent had another plan. Just as Raikou started the shuushin, about 3 meters away from the bird and 3 from the girl. An explosion rang out from behind him. If it was not for his reflexes that the Hakkeshou Nankan granted him, Raikou would surely be dead. The fact that he had followed her so quickly and precisely would be the only explanation for his escape. Although it did come at a cost.

With the adrenaline running through his body, with the new found strength surging within, Raikou smiled as he made his way toward his opponent at blistering speeds that the shuushin justu allowed. Suddenly, Raikou noticed her create a single hand seal, and the large bird behind him ignite. "Shhii-" The explosion knocked him off course. The pure power slammed him against the opposite wall, bouncing off and landing on the hard cold first floor. The pain was unbearable. Three ribs easily cracked as he slammed against the wall, and with the instinct of catching his fall with his hands when approaching the ground, he must have broken his right arm as well. On top of it all, burns lay all across his back from the heat of the explosion. All Raikou could think as he lay there rolling in agony was 'Girl is crazy... girl is crazy ahh!' So much pain. Opening his eyes, Raikou noticed that she to lay in pain on the floor. However, looking deeply she had not suffered from the explosion near as much damage as Raikou did.

Was this it? Was this how it was all going to end? Was he going to let his entire village down with this final loss? Was it even worth it? Raikou's teeth clenched as he attempted to move. Even in his condition, he knew was not good to give his position away, so while even in complete agony he kept complete silence. The mist would hide his location for now and kept him safe while he gathered himself. His opponent had to be in a similar condition, at least Raikou hoped. Thirty chakra seals was no joke, so her pain must be intense, and much of her chakra would be locked up. However Raikou knew he was in serious physical condition.

Although he was badly hurt, his chakra system was fine. He would need extra assurance of safety while he caught his breath. Holding his broken arm close to his chest, Raikou formed a number of quick hand seals. At that moment four Raikou would step out from the mist and seemingly walk up to his opponent smiling. The mist clones would mutter at the same time, "You are a worthy adversary, but give up girl. The battle is over."

The tactic was a complete bluff. And served nothing more then a mind game and a distraction. Maybe the girl would give up? For now Raikou would wait silently in the mist watching his opponent trying to summon up the strength to stand again. . .

Oboro Bunshin no Jutsu (Mist Clone Skill)

Description: A technique which creates clones with the properties of mist. Although the clones are unable to inflict damage on an opponent, any physical attacks attempted on them pass right through. Depending on the user's class level is dependent on how well and how much the user is capable of performing at one given time. If the user is "D" Class they are capable of performing four Clones at once. If the user is "C" Class they are capable of performing eight clones at once. If the user is "B" Class they are capable of performing sixteen clones at once. If the user is "A" Class they are capable of performing thirty two clones at once. If the user is "S" Class they are capable of performing sixty four clones at once. If the user is to be considered a non NinJutsu specialist the number is reduced by two for every class level that the user becomes, and if the user is a NinJutsu Master the number increases by two for every class level they become.

The doors slammed open, the warrior walked on through as he listened on about. "Shit the battle has gone long enough" he said quickly rushing through as he quickly slammed another door open. The warrior rushed through until finally he made it to the final doors. The warrior slowly walked in through, reaching forward pushing forward as the doors opened widely. The warrior looked on through with his blind eyes hearing, seeing within the mind's eyes as he stood calmly upon the bleachers.

The Battle was long, it was harsh, it must have been epic, and the warrior missed it. Giving out a soft sigh he felt the sudden presence of the woman he had been basically "following" or really wanting to meet and speak even more. The warrior then slowly began to walk down the heavy steps as his head was lowered, as if looking at the very ground, however his ears were perked, listening to the times and events happening here and now.

The warrior would reach to the railing where the stadium would start. He would watch the battle with wide ears, listening to everything, seeing everything within his mind's eyes as he softly whispered out. "Go girl" he said calmly barely audible, as thoughts of a battle ran through his head, a battle of the past, someone that he knew long ago. For once, he was not being silly, he was, serious. The sound of gripping could be heard along the railing as his head was lowered, his fedora was hiding his face.
