The leader of the thugs stood there and even from here Takeshi could see his anger rise considerably. He had reason to; the brawler was quickly learning how to lessen ever attack he was throwing at him. Takeshi however, was trying to contain his excitement. He had let it taken control before and paid the price, but the fight was fun, the brawler rarely got opportunities to fight like this. Then the brawler refocused on the battle, the thief merely stood there and for a moment Takeshi thought he might give up. But soon after the leader let out a sigh as though he failed in doing something. The brawler watched in confusion as the thief returned his focus on him. It didn’t take long and soon the thief was charging Takeshi once again.
Takeshi immediately focused on his opponent trying to find where he would attack next. His eyes gazed at his right hand, then the other, then his legs, he shifted his gaze quickly trying to see all of the possibilities. Takeshi didn’t see a sign however so when the fist came he didn’t have enough time to dodge, the blow throwing him off his feet. The brawler barely had enough time to get up before the leader charged him again. Takeshi cursed as he tried to look for a sign of where the attack would come from. The leader wasn’t as dumb as he looked; by going when the brawler was unprepared there was no way to figure out his moves ahead of time. Takeshi couldn’t see anything that might indicate what would happen next so he saw the kick moments before it connected with his stomach sending him flying. The brawler struggled to get up; if this pace continued then the battle wouldn’t last much longer. He sat there on his knees for a few seconds struggling to catch his breath, ’Well if I can’t see what he attacks he is going to do ahead of time, then I’ll just have to learn to do it off the attack alone.’ It was easier said than done but Takeshi didn’t have much choice, picking himself up he awaited the next charge.
The brawler didn’t have to wait long, the thief charged once again. Although he had time to recover exhaustion and his injuries prevented him from focusing on small thing like subtle movements. It seemed he would have to try, so instead of focusing on his movements the brawler merely waited. He saw the fist coming for his face, coming so quickly he barely had time to react. Still Takeshi was able to lean left as the punch connected throwing the brawler. It wasn’t necessarily successful but he had proven to himself that he could react on the moment instead of having to predict. Picking himself again he waited for the thief’s charge. The next one Takeshi tried to focus only on the moment itself as he prepared for the next attack, this time a round house kick aimed for his ribs. The brawler immediately leaned to his right moving with the blow and was successful in lessening it.
Picking himself up once again Takeshi faced his opponent. Another attack came this time a punch aimed for his shoulder, the brawler waited for the movement to become visible and then turned in accordance. A small wave of relief hit the brawler, ’Good it’s starting to become second nature.’ If he wanted to escape from this he would have to lessen the attacks without thinking about it. Preparing himself the brawler waited for the next attack, he was close to doing that now all he had to do was figure out a way to win.
