Imagine it and the area around it covered in pure, white snow.
.:Outside:.
The massive, elevated estate is about seven stories high, and is painted white. The constant snowfall decorates the rooftops and the landscape around it in a thick layer of snow and ice. The mansion is placed upon a large, steep hill that levels off at the top. As if the climb wouldn't be hard enough for someone to travel, the estate is surrounded by a massive wall, at least twenty feet high. Covered in ice and snow, it is basically physically impossible for one to climb. Every twenty meters is a tower that rises about twenty more feet above the wall, allowing for one to keep guard on the lands below. Once inside the walls of the estate, several large flags bearing the symbol of the Hokkaido are placed around the land in specific places. A 50x50 meter area is marked off by these flags to represent a training area. Other flags stick out of the walls every ten meters to alert those that it is the Hokkaido estate. Upon the largest tower of the estate is another flag, and around a large, natural frozen lake are flags that mark its shores. Benches are lined around the pond as well, and they are also lined along the training grounds so one can observe others train. Large windows are placed at several places on the mansion, also allowing people to look out upon the grounds. There is some plantlife around the estate, including several trees and grasses that have the ability to survive in such a climate.
.:Inside:.
The hallways are adorned with beautiful tapistry, ancient statues, and hundreds of portraits and pictures of past Hokkaido. One specific hall in the center of the mansion is filled with portraits of former Hokkaido leaders, the next spot reserved for Kazuki. Many of the statues resemble those of samurai or shinobi, and all of the portraits are of Hokkaido or respected family friends. However, portraits of the leaders go only in the designated hall. There are at least ten bedrooms, with twice as many bathrooms. Every hall leads to more and more rooms, easily confusing those not familiar with it. Every bedroom containts a closet, mirror, bathroom, bookshelf. Each room in the house contains a sort of alarm system with an added loudspeaker-type system when the entire house must be alerted. There is one bedroom in the tallest part of the mansion that is reserved for the current leader of the clan. Upon its walls hang portraits of the current leader, and statues are lined up on the walls. A massive, decorative bed is placed in the center of the back wall, and a shrine is on the opposite wall to pray. The estate also has several dining rooms and kitchens, many of which are not even used, but still kept in good shape. While every bedroom contains a bookshelf, there is a library in the back of the estate, filled with scrolls and books on just about everything. There is also an indoor training ground, although it is only about 10x10 meters big. Also in the back is a large room that contains a huge shrine with incenses around them, and many padded areas are placed along the floor for one to pray. To complete the castle, there are several small lobbies in which a group may just sit and talk, or one may relax.
.:Family Crest:.

The crest of the Hokkaido family is the Kanji for Ice. It represents the main jutsu of the family; Ice. It also symbolizes the family's hatred for Kusa no Kuni, as they are more based on Life than Death. Having been made in the land of Yuki no Kuni, the cold has killed many of their members and other people as they struggled to survive. Then, as the family evolved, they used the Ice and Snow to their advantage, using it for assassination. This is how the family came upon the basis of Death. Many Hokkaido do not have the same beliefs, however, as there is no penalty for feeling another way. Outsiders wishing to be adopted usually must complete a series of tasks based upon this, but it is really up to the current leader of the family.
