Kagemane no Jutsu, (Shadow Imitation Technique)
Rank: "C" Rank
Skill: NinJutsu
Effect: The signature move of the Nara family, this jutsu allows the user to control their own shadow and merge it with their opponent's shadow, combining them. This links the movements of the user with the target; the target is subsequently forced to make any movement the user makes. It is an extremely versatile technique, as the user can contract and change the shape of their shadow, potentially grabbing multiple targets at once. The degree to which the user's shadow can be stretched is limited by its total surface area.
Special: Seals are used but unknown.
Drawback: Must Be Learned Multiple times in order to truly achieve something grand.
Description: Using the shadows of other objects, the user can extend their shadow beyond its normal range. The amount of time for which an opponent can be held is limited by the user's chakra, since the user must constantly maintain the jutsu. The jutsu is also more difficult to maintain at greater ranges or for multiple opponents, since the user's shadow must be stretched constantly. At closer ranges, it requires considerably less effort on the user's part. Additionally, the target can force their way free with enough effort, though the amount of effort required to do so is considerable. There are two tables or understandings for this technique that consists of the Difficulty class of the User as well as the Opponent, and as to how far the user is capable of using this technique. When first learned the user is only capable of using this technique at a distance of ten meters. Each time this technique is learned the distance increases by another Ten Meters. The user is capable of making their shadow split and by doing so takes up the distance of the total form of the original technique. This means that if a user has this technique to where they can use thirty meters and wishes to make this technique split to three shadows the maximum distance is ten meters per shadow.
Difficulty on Escaping: If the user is the same Difficulty Class as that of the opponent, it takes five rounds for the user to be capable of escaping if they try to escape the whole time. For every rank higher the user is from the opponent the technique lasts for one more round. For every rank the user is below the opponent the number of rounds decrease by one. Now for every two people you trap the technique decreases by holding by one round. This means that if you are a D-Difficulty Class, fighting against two D-Difficulty classes and achieved to where you have caught both of them, you can only hold them for four rounds.

Desolate. He left his empty home with nothing more than his anticipation and assurance, and of coarse the daily items that tagged along with him the boy age of twelve walked to his small back yard to train. It was a small house but for him alone it was enough to carry him on but now with nothing else to do since he was out of the academy he decided to get himself back into the swing of thing. He knew what he wanted to train for already
His thoughts about the clan he had been accepted in a while ago were withdrawn. No one likes to remember heart break, it was time already to move on just as the others did. They left but he stayed even still he had yet to grow up he was still a kid in many ways. Still dwelling on things that should’ve already been out of mind; but now he pushed that all aside. In the desolate training area he kept it occupied and made it full of movement as he folded his hand into a hand seal and stretched out his shadow. Yes, he had waited for that time of day precisely because of that. He needed his shadow in order to complete his goal of learning how to stretch it further.
Yuki’s chakra was directed at his feet and from his toes tingled the chakra outward into the ground but not necessarily so. The chakra was directed into his shadow, making him able to move it around and give it pliability although it wasn’t exactly what one would call tangible. He used his chakra to move the shadow, wiggling it around at first in order to get a good feel to it. He watched as the shadow of him self seemed to turn into jelly, a smirk formed on his face as he now focused chakra into making the shadow into a think and fine line in order to stretch it out
The shadow withered before him and crawled up the ground a few inches, then a few more before he made it reach the whole ten meters that it could… but there was a problem... his yard wasn’t even ten meters long, in order to reach the full ten meters he had to make his shadow creep up several feet on the fence that separated his yards from the others. It had been a bad idea to have chosen this spot however he could still make it work. But he was a smart boy, he could make it work.
“The shadow goes about a meter up the fence which takes up half of its length…” He told himself while holding the hand sign “Seeing as my jutsu can only reach the length of 10 meters my back yard would have to be a total of nine meters long…” ‘Well that’s obvious,’ He told himself ‘Even an idiot can decipher that’ He moved on “However,” He further ventured “I happen to be bothered by the thought of moving so I will continue without having the space in my yard to do so”
The way he decided to go about this was to make the measurements in his mind. By trying to stretch his shadow all the way up the fence he’d reach 11 meters then he’d stretch the shadow back around the fence to make it reach 13 meters. He could further train in his shadows distance depending on how large the neighbors was, he’d make the shadow stretch across their lawn as well and if he needed he’d make the shadow go up their fence too.
The only problem that remained was that there was no way to tell exactly how far he had reached unless he could actually see where it landed. But considering the fact that he was indeed too lazy to find another spot and also considering that this was the place he felt more comfortable training in he would try to do it by feel, as he inched the shadow up centimeter by centimeter he held his eye lids shut and focused his thoughts and concentrations not only on pushing the limits of his shadow but he was also keeping measurements as well
From a few centimeters came inches until he reached 10 meters and a foot long. “What an achievement” he said sarcastically before he realized without opening his eyes that the shadow had not been thinned out long enough for it to stretch that far. The thinner the line of shadow was the more surface area the shadow would be able to cover. It was simple science.
Yoshiyuki thinned the width of the shadow and made it reach even further. At first it felt strange to have his chakra reach out that far, it was nothing like the polarity field he used to control Iron sand. That felt more natural than this since he knew that everything was controlled by positive and negative forces it was easy to understand his polarity field because it was always around him. Yoshiyuki muttered “Modern common knowledge can be applied here too” he had no idea why he was being so thorough with things now but it may have been the fact that he was getting serious about advancing…anyhow his shadow now reached 11 meters
What a drag it was for him to feel a drain after that, yes he had been holding his shadow there for more than five minuets but that mean nothing. He wasn’t holding anything down, but he felt as if used up enough chakra to hold down a tiger for 20 minuets. He gave himself a short break after that, sitting on his gourd with his elbows on his knees and his hands holding up his chin, with a sigh he got up and did the hand seals again
