Jiquan has lived quite a sheltered life, as an ex-monk, he is often unfamiliar with luxury items and some slang words. He's learnt discipline, but now he had finally got some freedom he likes to push the boundaries a little and enjoy life. He also had little if no real interaction with his peer group. This has not made Jiquan shy and socially awkward however, if anything it’s made him all the more keen to make friends. Ever the optimist Jiquan approaches everything with a reasonably bright look out, all though he does have a sarcastic streak.Appearance:
Jiquan is also quite competitive; he likes to measure himself against others rather than to his own standard. For this reason he can get be known to get jealous, this will usually have a good impact on his training however. He is also determined to be the best shin-obi he can be, the fact he is having a late start is drives him even more, he feels like he has some catching up to do.
Despite this, Jiquan has been raised very well, he is polite, at least too those older than him. His peers he is much more casual with. Jiquan is also quite kind, he will help those in need and do the “right” thing. The only exception to this is, when Jiquan sets himself a goal he loses sight of everything but that goal. This can be seen as selfishness, but it’s not intentional. However, once his mind is made up he can be very stubborn and may ignore others, putting all effort into his own idea.
People fascinate Jiquan, as he has been involved in no more than two, secluded cultures. He becomes easily involved with other people stories and history; he loves to learn customs and traditions and has a respect for all of them. However, he is also nosey all business is his business and this can become annoying. This all contributes to the reason his ultimate dream is to travel the world, but first to become an impressive shin-obi.
Jiquan also likes to indulge; deprived of lots of luxuries he can quickly become obsessed with foods, toys and anything that may be no significance to anyone else. Jiquan tends to be quite impulsive, he can make rash decisions and this applies to him in battle as well. This isn’t to say Jiquan doesn’t use his head, he does think and he plans but in the moment, he doesn’t think ahead to far and isn’t a great strategist, but he always uses his head… even if it’s just to hit someone with.
Face: Jiquan has a young looking face, most would probably underestimate his age. His features aren't masculine, this isn't to say he looks feminine but he has quite a soft look to him. His nose is slightly bent at the top of the bridge, indication of a break. At the end it turns up but not to sharply. His eyes are blue and his mouth is quite small. When he smile's he never shows his teeth, it's usally a lob-sided grin.Bloodlimit: N/A
Hair: Blonde in colour, he wears his hair Medium/Long, usually between chin and shoulder length. It is nearly always held up out of his eyes by his hat. His hair is naturally very straight, and just hangs, with not much style to it.
Body: Jiquan is off average height, perhaps appearing taller as he is so slender. He is pale and his skin is smooth, due to strict training he is toned and very well defined.
Clothes: Jiquan tends to wear loose, comfortable clothing. His trademark uniform (as displayed below), is normal fitted t-shirts. A white jacket with a black stipe running from one arm across the shoulders and down the other. The jacket has a large colar, which if zipped up comes over Jiquan's chin. Jiquan tends to zip it up if he needs to move fast, or if he is fighting. He wears loose trousers, nearly always black and a pair of grey trainers. The clothes he wears are generally regarded as casual, but he wears them even for Ninja missions.
He also carries with him his back pack, containing all the possesions he deems important enough to carry. The strap of which always comes down his right shoulder and bears the symbol of thie hidden mist Village. Over his left side, Jiquan will usually carry a quarter staff, held on with a red strap.

~See below~History:
"Looking back, the snowball that started the avalanche... well the first event that started me on the path towards becoming a Ninja was when I was, erm... well, five or six. My memory is a little patchy and there is a lot of detail I'll skip over, but please bare with me.
Like you already know... I'm the son of a Farmer, my parents weren't... significant, in a way, but they were good people. They raised me well and for what we had we were grateful. We lived in a small cottage, owned three fields and farmed cows and chickens. However, that year was different. The summer was long and dry and the winter came all too quickly in sharp contrast, it was bitter and cold. In between these events the harvest was well, pitiful. We retrieved what we could but our toils had seemed in vein.
From there things just got worse. Next year wasn't much better; we got by on the charity of other villagers. Out of kindness or pity they spared what they could, but it wasn't much. Off course thinking back, living on charity is probably what made my dad turn to alcohol. He was always very proud, so that may have been the reason. Luckily he overcame it, thanks to Mother, she was so kind... she was always so positive through it all."
Jiquan, who had momentarily turned his head to the floor, as he recalled some sadder events from his passed, looked up slowly. Standing with him was a tall man, his hair was a pale blue and his features were sharp. He had a small pointed nose and dark piercing eyes. He nodded, which Jiquan took as a signal to continue.
"Sorry I was babbling a bit, to the point then. For all my hard work on the farm, I can tell now I would have been more of a hindrance. Food is expensive, especially when we had so little and I'm sure they put themselves out at times, so I could eat. It's so clear why they did it now, one day on his way home from town Father met with a Monk from the Fire Temple. Well they must have gotten talking or something, because when the Monk learnt of our situation he offered to take me back to the temple with him. He had been returning from Konoha, he had been delivering a message if I recall.
Anyway, the first I learnt of this wasn't much before I left. He came home with Father and that was it, it all seemed to so surreal at the time. Our goodbyes were brief; I guess the seriousness of the situation didn't hit me until I had left. The reason perhaps, whilst my mother was hugging me, tears pouring down her face, spurting words of advice between breathes and I had stayed so calm. The reason for that was I took it all as a dream, from which I would awake soon. But then they were gone, and nothing had ever seemed so real.
I hated them, now I see they sent me out of love. I became riddled with self doubt, a recluse. When we arrived at the temple, I didn't talk much at all. I made no friends and went through the day's one at a time. Waking early, training hard, synchronized with a hundred other monks, I lost myself. I became a face in a sea of faces, my long dirt blonde hair, so unkempt, yet so fitting of my old personality, was cut, my clothes were a uniform, an orange robe, I simply became monk, a monk. The parts of the day which weren't spent training I spent meditating, thinking about what I left behind.
That experience caused me to grow up a lot, but over time, like any child, I recovered and the story from here, isn't a sad one. I really began to feel myself once more, when Rousus arrived. From the start he was captivating; he just gave off this aura and his grin... Rousus was probably about ten years older than my father. Yet his eyes always seemed so young. We became fast friends; to me he was not like a grandfather, but an older brother. He taught me so much; he had traveled the world and had such good tales of adventure. He was a Shin-obi, originally from the Village Hidden in the Mist. He had fought in battles earlier in his life, which he said had given him a better appreciation for it. He left the Mist and travelled the world, learning about cultures and people.
To shorten the story, he had joined the temple a long time ago, this was a returning visit, although he never told me much about his previous stay in the temple, it was clear the Elder Monks and Sensei respected him.
I don't remember when it was but when I was about nine he mentioned that I had a good Taijutsu body. I suppose I would have, after all the training I did, I am very slender, but defined, agile. Anyway it was that sentence which sparked my curiosity in Ninja arts. I had some prior knowledge into Chakra and things from what the Monks had taught me, but it never really interested me, when Rousus taught me it seemed so much more alive.
I studied under him in my spare time and learnt the very basics. He taught me about Chakra control and the differences between Tai, Gen and Ninjutsu. He taught me the hand signs and some basic Jutsu. Some time had passed whilst all this was happening, I was now 12, and I had been training with Rousus for roughly an hour each day, five days a week for three years. To be honest, for the time spent, I didn't have too much to show for it, except I don't see it that way. His teaching style was very relaxed, as was his demeanor and he taught me a lot about the world. He gave me a direction, now I had a goal, I too wanted to become a skilled Ninja and see the world. Sadly, Rousus left not long after, it was a sad goodbye, but more than anything I was grateful, grateful to have met such a teacher, such a friend. I stayed in the temple until just after my thirteenth birthday; my head was too full of ideas to linger there any longer. I was grateful to the monks for all I had learnt, the discipline I had achieved in both mind and body, but this was secondary to the feeling of wonder and excitement at the prospect of an open road and big dreams.
So I headed out, I decided first I'd return home but make an adventure out of it. So I headed home but I took my time about it, on the road I came across many places, I passed through big cities and stayed in smaller towns, I always did find them more interesting. I spent my time imagining I was exploring with Rousus, all that I owned in the small leather rucksack I carried. I talked to a lot of people, but didn't really learn that much, it wasn't as mind blowing as I had hoped. So eventually I arrived home, I stayed with my parents for a few weeks, I got reacquainted with them, they had aged but hadn't really changed at all, and to them I must have been an entirely different person. I told them of my hopes and aspirations they were very supportive.
So I made my plan, I would head to the Mist Village, where Rousus had started his amazing journey, in the hope I two could one day be like him. My stay with the monks had kindled a love for martial arts, so I decided I should collect them on my journey. Ultimately, I guess I didn't have a single goal, but more an idea for a way of life; I wanted to see the world, become a powerful shin-obi and an accomplished master of a thousand martial arts. Perhaps unrealistic but hey, if I wanted to aim for something, may as well make it worth achieving.
The journey to the Mist Village itself would have taken a considerable amount of time, all the way from our cottage in mid fire country. It had crossed my mind to go to the hidden leaf, but the Mist village was already in my head, so I had decided. I headed out on the road, with nothing more than a spare change of clothes, my dad's compass and a map. I stayed in small villages, in inns, barns, caves, heck sometimes even just under the stars, if the weather allowed it. Any board I had to pay I earned by doing tasks, it wasn't luxurious but I did learn from the experience. I grew up a lot and practiced my Taijutsu every spare moment I had. I had learnt to read semi-proficiently at the temple, but I improved that over my journey also, perhaps becoming a little more like a scholar. I developed an interest in books; I read about lots of places especially the water country, things like customs so I would fit in when I arrived and how I would go about getting to the Hidden Mist.
Things continued similarly for 3 and a half years, I could take up hours more of your time with tales, but that isn't what you asked. I will mention that I stumbled across something interesting a book written on a Martial Art, established here in the water country, Dian Xue Shu. It's amazing what masters of this art can do, what I too, someday would like to be able to do. I read a book on it, I think I got the gist of it, although the book was missing the back section on Meridians, it only had one of the twelve. So over the years I've been learning the chakra network and pressure points and think I have a decent understanding over them. I hope that answers your question, Hurisaa Sensei."
Upon finishing talking Jiquan glanced at the tall man, he simply nodded again handing me a headband, 'frankly I looked as if I had bored him, but he asked' Jiquan thought. The tall man opened his mouth thoughtfully as he passed the headband to Jiquan. "Well, I've seen what you can do; your Taijutsu is particularly impressive for someone who is not of a Shin-obi background. However, your Ninjutsu is lacking even for Genin standard, and your Genjutsu is worse. You are going to have to work hard to catch the youngsters, they've got an edge on you, starting on the shin-obi path is harder as you get older, but I suppose better to start than not at all. Good Luck." With that they parted ways and Jiquan headed out, the start of a new day and a bright future.
