First and foremost, Youki is a creature of comedy, equipped with a crude manner of speech (the Kansai-ben dialect, to be exact) and a taste for bad jokes that can add a touch of levity to even the most serious situation. He greatly enjoys throwing insults around and doesn't seem to mind much when they blow up in his face, he simply moves on to another slew of jibes and jeers and explosions without a moment's pause. Of all places, the comedian seems to be at his best when in his natural habitat: anywhere in the vicinity of his colleague, ---, who takes part in his game of punch-and-duck with the blazing-hot passion of a thousand fiery suns. While some question the healthiness of such a relationship, there is no doubt that the funny-man's flippant attitude shall forever prove a nuisance to the young lady ---, and therefore, there is no possible way to alleviate the painful side effects of the situation.
The verbal and physical abuse of others is not the only fashion by which the Shinobi Genin entertains himself. The man is a trickster and approaches everything with an air of satirical sarcasm, a partial cynic himself, no doubt thanks to his experiences. His approach to some situations is considered, at times, a bit immature; his expressions range from animated to deadpan at his own discretion.
Youki's aptitude for fashioning his words into some of the harshest and most surprising remarks known to man , and being capable of meaning what he says without really caring about the consequences are legendary. His superfluous number of smack-downs have inspired awe in the weak-hearted, providing further reason for the violence found in most of his relationships. Youki certainly is confident enough in himself, displaying little to no interest in the general publics opinion when it comes to the matter of, well, anything, really, especially himself. The man finds great pleasure in the frustration of others, constantly testing his own boundaries (and those of everyone else) by pushing his chosen victim(s) to the very breaking point of insanity, be it with words or actions, if only so that he knows how far to go next time he has an open afternoon to play with. Silly, silly Youki.
While others lie to get out of things, Youki does it for entertainment. The sound of grating nerves is akin to music to the Ninja's ears, a harmonious lullaby of the sweetest key, more calming than rock-a-bye-baby (which is really a rather violent, disturbing song, if you ask Youki, but maybe that's just him). It is a solid fact, too, that the man is as stubborn as an ass; some have been so delicate as to label him as a "conniving, persistent bastard," in regards to his track record of being utterly incapable of keeping his nose out of other people's business. The most Youki can do in response to this news is to put on a devious grin. What can he say? Youki won't judge, after all (what a lie). Others are entitled to their opinions, just as he is entitled to his.
So Youki claims.
It has come to the attention of many or, at least, to that of, that our man Youki has a large preoccupation with the female species, most especially the attractive young girls he comes across in his line of work. The Shinobi has been noted for his ever-cliche use of pick-up lines and overdramatic fibs in his attempts to attract attention from said 'special specimens' of the opposite sex (examples of which being his colleague, --, and his most recent crush, --). Though he's hardly a romantic in any regard, it is undeniable that Youki possesses a healthy male interest in the subject of 'pleasures of the flesh,' as any growing boy should. Perhaps the only reason this certain hobby of the Ninja's ever came to the attention of Miss -- is because of her lack of recognition from the man within this particular field again, what can Youki say? If the young blonde woman is jealous and ready to lunge, Youki considers it a job well done.
For every moment of comedy-filled ease the Shinobi has in life, he has had exactly two thousand, three hundred and fifty-seven moments of turmoil and/or tension to counter it. Yes, that many. His hardship hasn't been in vain, however, as experiencing the more unpleasant of surprises life has to offer first-hand has given Youki a broader perspective of the world. One which can indeed be likened to wisdom. Mind you, said wisdom is scarcely seen, as exposing it sparingly has thus far successfully reduced the number of people that rely on Youki for answers to things (can you say, lazy and unreliable? Youki can. And he likes it. ). Even so, Youki's acceptance of the inevitable rough time makes him a rather collected and level-headed fellow overall when it comes to matters of every day life and beyond, even when life is turned completely upside-down and backwards, as it has been for him a number of times in the past. It is most likely because of this moderate and composed compliment to his otherwise careless personality that the man was wordlessly acknowledged as the leader of the Ninja's syndicate. He remains to this day somewhat of a symbol of leadership and fortitude in the face of the perilous road ahead.
While Youki's pensive side is not necessarily severe, it can at times be grim, and he does his best not to subject others to it unless all other options fail him. The man should be noted for being most perceptive when it comes to people, having been one of the few to see through his former vice-captain's captivating smile and deceptive, harmless persona. However, the fact that he often keeps his opinions to himself leaves one to question just how much he's willing to do with his instinctive flair for people-profiling. Though he may never admit it, the fact that he hesitated in his attack on --'s character until it was too late. Well, it's a source of inner conflict, to say the least. For his own sake, he tends to shun 'pathetic' feelings, purging all guilty thoughts from his mind the instant they arrive. He does not shun his suspicions, however, and when his opinion of someone is made, it rarely changes, predominantly because he's right, 99.9% of the time.
Hirako Youki is an intimidating man when you're on the side of the opposition. He is, as previously noted, naturally suspicious, and the Youki enjoys the company of only a small circle of trustworthy individuals. Most of his now-friend relationships began as sheerly situational, almost by force, proving just how difficult it is to truly get close to the man. Still, Youki's small inner circle is a group which he feels obligated to protect and defend to whatever ends necessary. Those who value their lives and the lives of those they love do well to keep a safe distance from the friends of the otherwise indifferent and casual man, and never buy into his easy-going appearance. His protective nature doesn't come into direct light very often, but in an extreme situation, Youki would easily give his life or, more likely, take multiple others, in order to preserve what he has around him. If someone he cares for is hurt, he's about as forgiving as a scorpion. Revenge, no matter how subtly taken, is unquestionable.
Youki is, above all, a mystery of a man. His expressions are impossible to read; his attitudes range from foolish and immature, to rigid and solemn. It's doubtful that anyone has him totally figured out, not even the man himself. One thing is certain: his confidence, his grin, and his smashing sense of style will forever endure the ages.
.:appearance:.
Youki has a lean, average figure. At 5'10'', he has an elongated face, light brown eyes, and ebony hair. His hair is straight, and hangs haphazardly in front of his face, clearing a bit over his forehead, but his hair is combed straight on the sides and the back of his head. His hands are a little large, but still within the rand of normal. His skin is a light tone, and he doesn't have any scars or birthmarks. He stands upright, while his neck and head are leaned slightly forward.
