Sano made his way through the village walking at a leisurely pace. Every step he took step activated his ability to sense through subtle tremors and lit the way allowing him to see outward fifty meters or so. Normally the young boy would be out training or locked in his room committed to some scroll studying it reverently. Despite his child size Sano was deadly serious when it came to just about everything in his life. His parents often made small jokes at his expense because of it. There were no harm in them and Sano certainly didn’t take offense by it. It was simply that the both of them were so easy going and carefree yet their only child seemed to be completely opposite of them. It was partially his raising and partially his determination to become something for this village. However, it did not stop him from at least attempting to interact with the villagers. That was what today was for. Sano had some free time and he felt like taking a walk and possibly getting a bite to eat. After all, if Sano was going to protect these people then he should get to know them a little better and actually become one with them.
His face was set in a grim line, but in actuality it was the expression he always wore. His milky clear eyes got him the occasional glance from a passerby, but his headband that marked him as a shinobi helped sway people from asking too many questions. When a villager marks a person as a shinobi they are willing to forgive a lot of things that would seem out of place or impossible for others. A few minutes after having left his house he arrived at where he had been heading all along. He moved inside the small ramen shop sitting at the counter his slightly heightened sense of smell picking up all the delectable scents. His mouth twitched in the beginnings of a smile and then regarded the owner as he heard the man approach him. He nodded his head in recognition as the man said, “What can I get you kid?” Sano let his nostrils flare taking in every delectable smell. The genin still hadn’t learned the clan technique to notice every individual scent, but he could still make out some things. When he was done he turned to regard the man, he noticed the speaking without directly looking at a person tended to make them feel awkward. Sano then said, “I will just take the beef ramen please. A regular bowl is fine.”
Without another word the man left to go prepare the meal. Sano kept his feet planted on the ground even while he sat and it allow him to see. Despite the lack of his own motion the constant arrival and departure of customers afforded him just enough movement to see without the need of making noise himself. As he waited for his food to be ready he wondered how all the other shinobi of the village were doing. He had not seen a single graduate from his academy since his last class and doubted he would be bumping into his own teacher anytime soon. He had been so busy with his own personal training that a part of him was hoping to meet up with some other shinobi of the village. It was always better to train with others and finding out what they knew could aide him in the future if he ever needed to team up with someone of a certain skill set to complete a mission.
