The Tenshu Domain

Mouse would be in a bush, waiting for Draven to come out of the building. But then a idea came to her, she would drop on to him if possible, like drop from a tree. If he came out soon, she would do it from a bush though. She also honestly didn’t know what to say to him as well other then, she didn’t have a team. Yeah, she would go with that when she jumped him. When he would come out of the house, and down near her bush, she planned on leaping out and try to tackle Draven. But alas, when he did come out of the house, he noticed her. He spoke, her eyes blinked as she would peer out of the bush that didn’t hid her well enough it seems. Well, what to do. He was going to go out of the gates, but Mayu had said she needed to get permission from her clerk. Well.. that meant one thing she supposed.

She would move out of the bush after Draven had left the area, and she would head for the tower to get permission to follow him out of the gate. She paused. he had said just to meet him in a hour, and at the gates, he was Chunnin. She mused, she would battle slightly in her mind of what she was suppose to do, but then she would turn and make her way to the gates, it would be his fault if she couldn’t make it though this time.

A ray of light pierced through a small chink found in the blinds of Yuudai Tenshu's room. It was a silent morning, the only audible noise had been a cacophonous construct of the Chunin turning over from his short slumber. Like any other being, he placed both feet and the floor and rose to his full, towering height. His chocolate hair was a bed-ridden mess, but possibly charming to someone who had a subtle appreciation for that "underachiever" look. It wouldn't take long to graduate through the various chores of his morning routine, fully emerging from his bedroom dressed in the typical Chunin garb--which really only consisted of form fitting cloth clothing and a muddy-olive flack jacket--so he could comfortably begin his day as a Shinobi. Strapped securely to his back was a man-sized tower shield that bore no mar due to the constant care he would provide to it. Around his waist he wore his emerald and violet sash--the sign of his full-blood heritage--with the dull-silver marker which displayed his allegiance to Otogakure no Sato.

Despite his titanic strength and indefinite stamina, he had very little true standing as a Shinobi of Otogakure. At the age of twenty, he had only been promoted to the rank of Chunin-- albeit, more or less by his decision because his lack of devotion towards the necessary trials of the Shinobi. He had typically shown little interest in the petty things that somehow wound up on the mission board-- for example: finding the daimyo's cat, escorting the daimyo's mildly-rare collection of spices from one building to another-- but, he had a full understanding that those lackluster requests were only a stepping stone that led, indefinitely, to tasks that would paralyze many in fear and that the Otokage withheld until only the greatest emerged to take them, maybe to never return.

With all that in mind he was bound to spend his day picking herbs or possibly even finding stray cats-- he had to accumulate those credits someway. His time in the Tenshu domain was, today, to be ephemeral as he sought to make his way towards the gargantuan doors that separated the Tenshu blood from all others. This, however, was bound to change if anyone would come along to stop him.

I had already woken much earlier this morning, how else would I have gotten in the studies of Binary before breakfast? But, I followed my morning routines, breakfasted on some of yesterday's bread, and came to the gates of the Tenshu Domain, where I intended to leave and go find herbs to start a garden, maybe build a box hanging from the window in my solar.

It was there at the gate, when I saw my brother and dropped my own intentions for self betterment, that I realized what I am. I must be my brother's greatest advisor. He's a dull man, but somebody has got to keep him in check, make him interesting. Somebody must hold the court when he makes some uncannily inconvenient decision to wander off. I have no idea what he does on his journey, but I know what he needs. He needs me to stand home. He needs a man whose journeys, trials and tribulations rarely take him far from home. Yes, I must accompany my brother with whatever he does today.

" Hello, my brother." I asked as I approached him. I was wearing a robe of the families colors, emerald and violet, with the crest emblazoned over my heart. My voice was confident, but quiet. "What is everyone's favorite Heir Apparent planning on doing today that requires him to venture from the Domain?"

”Hello, my brother.”

A familiar voice had called out, seemingly from nowhere. There was no threat-- otherwise, he would have felt it deep in the pit of his stomach. It took no time to put a face to the placid voice: It had been his brother, York. By the time Yuudai had finished turning around to face him he had already begun to speak again, his words delivered in a manner that would allow him to pry information. He was untroubled providing an answer, but to provide a concise one was where he had always struggled. “I am to go to the mission office,” his voice a deep bass that complimented his titanic profile, “so I may take on a mission-- I hope to not work with cats.”

He paused and took a look at his brother-- they were strikingly different: the hair, the face, the height and lastly even the tones of their skin warded off the idea of their blood relation. This was more on Yuudai’s part as Arisu bore signs of a shared ancestor to York. He had always attributed his palpably different appearance to some ebon being that once mixed with the blood of Tenshu. However, this had never been something that was a concern to Yuudai. Being the oldest he had seen them all grow up, especially their youngest brother, whom of which was still a boy.

“What are you doing?” He plainly asked, doing his best to put out that he was trying to show interest-- alas, he never related well with them.

Ah my brother, the indomitable, the strong, the indefatigable. Call him what you will. He is an unyielding fellow. He also looked so different from me; no doubt he had wondered multiple times whether we truly were of the same lineage. I wouldn't think my sweet mother was one to partake in affairs extramarital, but it seems the greater the value of the child, the more people worried about the legitimacy. Only makes sense. True birth of a peasant means little.

"Ah. I'm glad you're going to the mission's office to take a mission, not an office. You're really more suited towards the former, brother." I said jokingly. He never had the world's most eloquent phrasing, but my teasing of him was only to aid him, eventually bring him to a place where he would dodge such mistakes, else not be made fun of. Its one of the few areas where he would be lacking as a lord.

"Well, I'll admit, I intended to the spend the day ruminating on and reading texts written in Binary at a library. but, if you truly intend to complete a mission, I would attend, if possible." I was excited. It had been far too long since I had fulfilled my civic duty to Otogakure. My brother made some humorous comment about cats earlier, and so I returned one. "Besides, if the cats speak Latin, you'll be glad you brought me."

In the micro verse, it felt like it had been an eon since the last time he had interacted with one of his blood--especially York. The titan and the Scholar has not always been on the same plane of thinking, nor had they ever been level on methods of achieving what they craved. Yuudai knew not of what York sought in the short time they could interact in this world, but Yuudai only housed a carnal desire for power. With sating that desire maybe, one day, he would be willing to finally slow down-- to accept himself and finally admit he had accomplished something.

“Why would cats speak latin?” The bronzed giant prodded, almost puzzled-- he was, by no means, a brute. Perhaps this was the only one that would pass over his head-- besides, he had other things on his mind. “Anyway,” he carried on still slightly bewildered by the comment, “come with me.” He said abruptly, turning around as to make his way towards the gate again. Hopefully, with York in toe, this would turn to be a much more tolerable process.

He pressed forward, eventually crossing the threshold of the immense gate. In no time, it was clear that he had been en route to the destination. Yuudai had an almost alien sense of directiion, which was complimenting to the conquests of his wanderlust.

I try not to show disappointment in my brother in front of others, I really do. But I thank God that he and I are so different every day. He doesn't need a man to nod and agree with him. No, if Yuudai ever rules the Tenshu Domain, he will need an opposite to tell him when his ideas are lackluster. And to help him get jokes. Only about 1/10 goes over his head, but its still embarrassing when he doesn't seem to have that sense of irony and humour that a lord should. Not that my joke was good. Oh well.

I nodded, as my brother instructed me to come with him towards the mission office to acquire something to do. "Right away." I would say pleasantly, as we went out to the tower. I would walk to his side all the way to our mission.
