Snow drifts in through the open door of the Yukikage Tower, if one could even call it that. Everything was made of wood, a similar design to their own home, but on a much smaller scale. It was defendable, with minor fortifications made to it to strengthen the walls, along with being atop a hill. It was a nice place, but it could really use a mountain, if Kara did say so herself. No matter, she was here for more pressing business, not to discuss structural integrity or any such other fortifications. Striding across the hardwood floor, which was made through Mokuton techniques, she would glance at the battles on the wall.
Two of them stood out to her. Both of them were of her father, his own two legendary battles, where he stood before two enormous villages alone, the aggressor and war bringer. The first was of Konohagakure no Sato, bones exploding from his body, demolishing a gaudy tower and killing dozens of shinobi that rushed to defend it. Her eyes moved to the second, her father standing before the armies of Kumogakure no Sato, his blade drawn and their shinobi cowering. Back then her father had been so powerful, before the calcium became too much for his body, and before they had a way to remove it. She would need to become just as powerful, for him, to carry on his legacy. Finally she reached the desk.
She places the slip in front of Xi, the receptionist of the Yukikage Tower, who she thinks looks a little familiar from a television show she saw once. The mission, Notes of Madness, was apparently the only high ranking mission to offer and she had accepted it. Investigate this Red Velvet character, find why these people in the bakery lost their minds, and then report back. Be wary of danger; do not hesitate to kill, because her father would not. She had been looking at the paper, but now her cold eyes were staring directly at Xi, and they were like black pits into the void and yet somehow lit with determination and killing intent. She would never be able to change that, the smile spreading on her face never touching her eyes, as if the warmth of it was sucked into that void.
“I’d like to take this mission, if you don’t mind.”
She expected him to know who she was, because it seemed most who worked in the higher offices or were in higher ranking positions knew. An’ei Ura Kara, daughter of Sekitan An’ei, the man who set Yuki no Kuni apart from the world and possibly the King of the Kaguya. This mission seemed mundane, but she would not underestimate it. Unlike her father, she did not possess the same strength as he did, and so she could not allow herself the luxury of underestimation.
