Hmmm, I really don't want people to cheat and make clones, and I doubt a lot of the clones can last 8 hours a day except the Medical Clone and my shadow, so for now no clones wont improve, however if you can get another PC character, then sure, that can work.

while we're on the topic of assisted crafting, would it be possible for an AC(assuming they have sufficiently dexterous digits and opposible thumbs, so mostly primates and other well known tool users) to assist in crafting at all?

Also, I feel I should ask: What exactly determines if a roll is 'failed' when crafting?

It appears that I have missed quite a lot in regards to alterations made to that of the Craftsman profession. As such, I do have questions regarding my own profile.

1) A few of the areas of expertise that I was in no longer exist [As in Other Crafting and Trap Crafting]. As such, may I simply change those to that of the new areas of expertise?

2) As it appears now, the current techniques used for crafting are C rank through S rank, though previously, a D rank was included as well. What should happen to those in which I had the D and C ranks? The same question goes to if I only possessed the D rank version.

3) The tools listed in the spoiler below were purchased by me prior to this change. As it is now, these tools, as far as I can see, no longer exist. So what should I do to remedy this situation?

Backpack Crafting Tools
Rank: "B"
Type: Main, Accessories, Other, Crafting Tools
Effect: An Improved Artisan kit where the user must have in order to create an item that they are proficient with. With this type of item the amount of Crafting Points does not hinder the user's usage into creating an item, nor does it help but only has enough capability to allow one person to use.
Special: ---
Drawback: The user while carrying this will suffer a minus one in movements until they reach a Class level of "B"
Description: Backpack items where only one person may use at a time no matter what. The user may only create ten items using this whenever creating before they must buy another set. These items however is considered to be a set such as a pair of gloves, for items such as secondary weapons, it is for how many items that equals one slot. When the user uses this they do not have to add in extra points for every thousand Ryo into creating the item. Reasons why is because this is considered to be the intermediate type of Crafting tools, and they are to small to do something grand, however enough to get by without suffering consequences.
Limit: May be bought within any Accessory Shop
Cost: 6,000 Ryo

As it appears now, It seems as though doing a complete revamp would be the easiest solution, but I would prefer not using one of the scrap deaths allotted to do so. I would really appreciate being a craftsman, and do enjoy your system. But unless you have another solution, I do not quite see how I can replace all of these techniques. I've got a question more directly related to the rank of the crafting techniques. Why are there S rank techniques if there aren't any S rank weapons to craft? Or can we actually use crafting to make overview weapons a higher rank?

In addition to that, say we have an item like...a puppet. A colossal one, and therefore S ranked. Now to craft it would take the S ranked Puppetry Basics Crafting. Now, as a C-ranked Character, I couldn't possibly obtain this, so my question is...

Can we take a possession we already have, such as a puppet, and "craft" it to improve it at a later time, gaining the Advanced Items qualities for the usual price, such as during maintenance and repairs? Also if that puppet were destroyed and had to be repaired, would it lose those qualities and have to have them re-crafted as well?

Also, if I fuck up half my materials by failing the difficulty roll, do I have to start the crafting process over, or do I just get the interruption penalty on top of the botched material fee?

There could be "S" Rank items later down the road. Don't know yet, but it's a precaution, a just in case.

If you cannot obtain the "S" Rank then you need to get that Class level in order to be able to obtain the "S" Rank. You can upgrade the puppet if you know the proper ranks for the other items like the other weapons and stuff but other than that you're screwed till you reach "B" Class. It won't lose the qualities, you just need to repair it.

You don't start over if you get half of the materials messed up, you just need to get more, and continue.

I appreciate the answers to my past questions, but I have decided to revamp by using one of the allotted scrap deaths to do so. That being said, I do have a couple more questions.

1) Can we modify an already made item with an advancement or does it have to be a brand new weapon that is now made with said advancement?

2) I am a tad confused on Quick Creation and what it means. Perhaps you could give a better explanation or an example of using it on an item?

3) Can we learn a new rank of crafting while attempting to craft an item? For instance, say I have Primary Weapon: Piercing at C rank. Can I be trying to craft a Piercing primary weapon while also trying to increase my skills so I may gain the Primary Weapon: Piercing technique at B rank? Or must they be done at separate times?

I've got another question: You already said ACs won't improve your crafting chances, but can they still learn crafting techniques for the sake of other things that require crafting TP such as Red Leg? For example, I wanted my Simian AC to go into Red Leg. Could I have them learn various crafting techniques until they have 250 TP into it so they could enter into and learn red leg techniques?

I can't see the problem with the theory, but I wanted to double check.

Would I be capable of transferring my knowledge of the Projectile and Melee Secondary weapon crafting into another version of crafting such as Bowyer? It would just transfer rank for rank, but I wish to be sure before doing something.

Slashing Weapon Crafting
Rank: "D", "C", "B", "A", "S"
Skill: Supplementary
Effect: A simple skill where the user is capable of creating non unique, all universal Slashing Weapons. Depending on the rank, depends on the user's capability of crafting a certain Rank item.
Special: ---
Drawback: They are only capable of only crafting universal items. Items that have no limit within them.
Description: A simple skill of crafting to where the user is capable of crafting Slashing Weapons. Depending on the rank of the item the user is capable of crafting a certain Rank within the item. This means that if there is an item that is "D" Rank, the user must know this skill that is "D" Rank. If an item is "C" Rank they must know this skill that is "C" Rank. If an item is "B" Rank they must know this skill that is "B" Rank. If an item is "A" Rank they must know this skill that is "A" Rank. If an item is "S" Rank they must know this skill that is "S" Rank. This only works for universal items with no set limits such as Village Only, Bloodlimit/Clan Only, Only a person Knows it.
Limit: Must be a Main Weapons Craftsman

Question: Are we able to craft Custom Weapons that were made and accepted in the Custom weapons area? (Provided they meet specific limits) And would any additional training be needed to do so?

Would a Bowyer (Craftsman) be able to apply the Advanced templates to arrows/bolts/marbles to improve their damage (Overview Item Offense) or to have them able to survive techniques that would destroy normal versions such as Ranged Sunder (Overview Item Defense)?

Assuming the first is correct, would then the user of these arrows be able to combine the bonus from the ammo with a similar bonus from an Advanced Bow/Crossbow/Slingshot? I.E. A normal C rank would get a +1 Rank bonus from the bow to be B rank damage, and then another +1 rank from the arrows for a total of A rank damage from the technique.

Essentially, do multiple item advancement bonuses stack from different items?

1) If i am a Bookbinder can i not learn both Bookbinding and Scroll Roller?
2) Or must i learn Higher Learning in order to go into one of them?

4) An easier question would be, how exactly does it (Higher Learning) work?

1) you can learn both, but the exp will be separate. Just put a note saying what you're learning it for. Like you can learn it ten times for one and twenty times for the other if you wanted.

2) you don't need higher learning to craft, although it makes it much easier when starting out

3) tp put into this technique would be classified under craftsman tp (you can have as much of this as you want)

4) there's something called crafting experience. More exp makes it easier to make items. Say I had 10 exp in bookbinding, I could increase the exp by repairing books, making books, or by learning higher learning.
You'll have to do some math to see what's more time and cost effective. At a point it is easier to get exp by making items (if you can do it quickly). However if you're starting off you should learn higher learning a few times since making stuff would take forever.

The big drawback of crafting is that you can't train and craft at the same time, in case you didn't know.

1) training.... its basically a dice rp with little rp... but mostly an dice roll... so basically... -eyes all her past training- ... so ... i would train though the techs from D-S, with dice rolls? @__@;

correct me if i am wrong, Higher Learning grants you 1 point toward crafting no matter what sub-type (bookbinding) and the sub-type learning how to create a certain item at certain rank + when you make an item all TP go to crafting, just crafting and not the subt-ype? if yes then i got it

that said, do i go into crafting twice if i have puppeteer crafting as well as bookbinding?
