The Duke strode into the Universal Store, eyeing the several counters where different categories of item could be purchased. Priorities priorities. He could have spent this extra money on throwing a wild party or something. Anything. Nope. Serious business time. He just hoped the clerks didn't start flirting, considering they were mostly men on shift.
Serious business. Yes. Mind on track. What needed to be bought? He had...a list somewhere...ah, here. Yes. First and foremost was ammo for the twin crossbows at his hips. They weren't his priority if push can to shove, but it was always good to have an ace up your sleeve. So the hunting counter first. Ooh, repeating clips. He tended to fumble reloads at the range, so that would be very helpful. A little pricy though. But it was probably worth it.
"Two of those," he pointed out the clips, "And a score of bolts for them."
He could go with the basics for cheap, and be able to make a wide variety of other purchases, or spend the better part of his funding on powerful but irretrievable shots. He chose the latter. If he was under pressure he needed a shot that would earn him time and distance sooner rather than later.
"Concussive heads, splitting shafts, and spinning razor fletching on all of them." Duke nearly winced hearing himself speak. Dropping that kind of money on a backup plan was awful, even if it WAS necessary. He wondered how true archers that used these sort of tactics as their primary attacks managed to afford it all.
Already quite nearly broke, the Duke would pawn all sixty of his darts to make room in his bag (and just a little extra money) for his next priority, Gadgets.
Over at that counter he would obtain a multitool, a compass, and a wireless radio. No more money. Well, a little, but not enough to be useful for anything. Actually, perhaps just a few...
"Also one of those bracelet things, and twelve needles for it."
