She heard his singing as she approached the agency, noted her window was open, and stepped in the door. "That song is hardly appropriate." She muttered as she glared at the small electronic device. People always stuck those things in their ears and paid no attention to the outside world. People were truly growing clueless. "Shut the window. You're letting the weather in." She informed him before flipping on her tea maker and settling into her chair. She sat for a long moment, enjoying the feeling of rest, the comfort of the chair, and the soothing sounds and smells issuing from her tea pot.
After some time she looked back to Drake. "Where have you been? Drinking with your old Yu Guard mates?" She questioned, her scarlet eyes keen on him for but a moment as she went back to sorting through the mail that had come in her absence. "I've been training a new detective. Lots of energy but not much deductive skill. It's too early for deductive reasoning to be dead to the world." A sigh passed her pink lips as she cut open envelopes and sorted the contents of each one. As always a majority went straight into the trash can.
Scandals. Affairs. Lost loves. All of those she tossed. Something like that was so desperately below her she barely took her time to read their contents. Anything of a decent caliber was sorted into her files. Some for immediate review and some for times of extreme desperation or boredom. It was a simply process, not at all tasking, but she was relieved all the same when her tea kettle beeped to inform her it was done. She quickly filled two cups before sitting back down. One she placed before herself and one she set on the edge for Drake if he wanted it.[/i]
