So while you fill the streets it's appealing to see
You won't get out the county, 'cos you're mad and free

Kenta Garashi lives by a simple principle. That those above him have been put there for a reason, and that they have thus gained authority over him. If they order him to do something, that becomes the most important task he must fulfill. He will do whatever it takes to carry out the order, even at great risk or cost to himself. Whatever it takes. Civilians may be harmed or killed for these goals, and property may be destroyed. Some may call this ruthless, but Kenta thinks of it as dedication.
In his heart, Kenta dislikes committing such acts; but all of his own will is cast aside, and he becomes an embodiment of the task, and the path that it implies. This would make him somewhat of a penultimate mercenary, were it that he dealt in money as opposed to loyalty.
The only distinction he will make for whether or not he carries out orders he is given is a small amount of personal trust; Kenta will not take orders from just anybody. He does have his own secondary code that he abides by; that all actions should have a greater goal. In other words, he will not kill pointlessly if he deems it pointless, and may reject an authority on that basis, and move to find a more worthwhile one.
When not acting under orders, Kenta is very much different; while he always seems intense and full of purpose, he does not commit atrocities out of any enjoyment, and is actually fairly easy to get along with, bantering casually and even cracking a smile here and there. He enjoys simply existing between these periods, contemplating life, co-existing amiably with those around him. It's quite true that he acts under authority simply because he believes that is the way the world is, even though he dislikes it.

Standing at a rather dwarfing six feet and an inch, Kenta is also rather widely built thanks to rigorous combat training; his figure is quite intimidating, especially combined with his piercing eyes; eyes that can quite clearly state, I'm going to kill you, and I'm not going to regret it. They are a strange white-gold in colour, and seem to grow slitted whenever killer intent is present. His hair is a spiky, thick and rather bright green, wich cuts off at the neck and is just short enough at the fringe not to obscure Kenta's vision.
Some sort of smoke-able object is usually found being puffed absently in his mouth, whether on missions or off. He still wears his bronze dog tag in honour of his previous superiors around his neck; they bear the designation FL-199Y. Often on long expeditions Kenta wears a green camouflage army cap, also with his designation upon a small, frontal bronze plate.
A thick black tank top is worn over his torso - its colour is fortunate considering how many bloodstains it has endured - with a dark green, high-collared jacket overlapping that, though it is often left open and rolled up at the sleeves. He also has a twin pair of black fingerless gloves worn at almost all times. He also wears a pair of heavy ocher cargo pants, held in place by a black, silver-buckled belt.

Born to a man that Kenta only ever knew as Tengoku, Kenta was also born to something that was of far more circumstance to his life; the Hawo Azami, or Thistle Blades, an elite group of hunter-nin that had originated some forty years ago from rebellious AnBu of Kusagakure. The Hawo Azami were a group of elite hired killers that centered around one law; get the job done, or you die.
Unfortunately Kenta's father fled the group after failing a contract when Kenta was only six, never to be heard from by the Hawo Azami again, but rumoured to have taken up residence in Kusagakure, a fortress too impenetrable for the clan to realistically hunt him down within. So Kenta lived a harder life than most, lacking true companionship even though he was looked after well enough by the group. But fortunately he grew up to be excellent at the clan's job, which gave him somewhat of a place within the harsh clan.
It was on his eighteenth birthday that Kenta was sent out on his first assignment; to capture and kill a chuunin of grass, who was reported to be near the country's border at the time. Kenta came upon the man that evening. He looked remarkably like Kenta did himself; green hair, yellow eyes... though this did not cause the boy to hesitate for long. A well-trained killing machine, Kenta launched himself at the man, but he was not stealthy enough, and the two were locked in battle.
Unfortunately, the man was too quick; he fell not to Kenta's secret techniques, which had been taught to him by his father days before the man had failed his contract, replying even with his own. And so the chuunin vanished into the night, and Kenta knew he had failed. He returned stiffly to the place he knew his clan would be hiding out... to find the camp ablaze. He watched from the bushes as Kusa ninja tore the place, and his brethren, to pieces. Kenta fled back to the forest, where he stayed for some days.
He contemplated his clan's death without really understanding it; and he wandered, eyes deadened... his entire life, it had been drilled into him that he would follow authority...
What authority?
Eventually he found himself within Kusagakure. Kenta never mentioned his attachment to the Hawo Azami, and he was never recognized for it. He signed up to become a shinobi, hoping to find new authority to follow, and indeed he passed the academy easily.
Now he serves a new authority; unquestioningly, with little emotion, willing to carry out whatever task is set upon him.
