Recurve Bow
Rank:: Chuunin
Type: Bow, Main Weapon
Effect: N/A
Special: N/A
Drawback: Larger than a regular bow, weighing slightly more but requiring a much more intense draw. This means that the user will be forced to fire arrows at a slower pace.
Description: A more advanced form of the Long Bow. This bow is shorter in length, but curved differently, which increases the draw of the bow beyond that of the Long Bow, thus increasing the range of the bow. It is effective up to 1050 yards; beyond that, accuracy declines dramatically, decreasing the arrow’s ability to hit. These bows are used in long range situations, where they have the distinct advantage in range and are able to cut down unarmored foes with ease. These are the most difficult types of bows to use, and require much more training and strength, as well as dexterity, to use than the rest. This is not a starting weapon.
Limit: Bowman Special
Cost: 1100 Ryo
Hakari possesses a dominant personality, controlling situations such that they turn out in his favor. Manipulative and sharp, he sports a quick mind with even faster reflexes. Growing up in the Sakurai clan, he was not exposed to a defensive style, more rather a heavy reliance on ones personal reaction time. Solely because of this, Hakari learned to always be on edge, thus he is often seen as an easily startled person, or "jumpy."Appearance:
His father left the family rather early on, and so his persona divided with the very separated time he spent with each parent. His father was much more meek then his mother, who was the deciding factor in the dominant part of his attitude. His father taught him modesty however, a trait his brother and sister did not take to. Hakari was the only child of the three that preferred their father over their mother,. He was considered the weakest of the three, but he was also of the fairest appearance.
Hakari's natural disposition to strength, he would rely on the ways of stealth and subterfuge in his shinobi training. Growing up in the Cloud village with his family, he was often questioned on his choice of combat. Time and time again, he would have to explain his personal desire to avoid the front lines, and to devotedly follow the clan's hunter life style. His siblings were far more brutish, prone to hunt with a blood thirsty desire, and such developed the third stage of the Clan's Kekkai Genkai long before Hakari could even fathom the concept.
His the combination of his modesty and dominance create a fine line in Hakari's personality. Rarely will he avert to his mother's way of life, much preferring his father's reserved teachings.
Hakari and his siblings were different from their fellow clan members, but still unmistakably similar. Few know the true meaning behind the slight change in their looks opposed to a normal Sakurai, and were baffled as to why the children carried the obscure slitted features. The looks were not startling, nor that noticeable, because of this the abnormality was deftly set aside from the questioning elders minds.Bloodlimit: Sakurai (Sankakugan)
Hakari's skin tone at birth was a fleshy pink, normal for a baby if not a little rosy. His parents were pleased with the child's fair appearance, and rose the boy, often sidestepping any question to close observers of the child's skin cells, which they swore reassembled scales...None but extremely close friends knew about the faint anomaly, and so the matter was rarely discussed.
His hair grew in wild, a pure Sakurai trait of jet black hair. His skin tone slowly changed as he grew up in the Thunder Country as well, tanning in a different way then most, but tanning none the less. No longer was he the pink child, but now a pale individual, but because of his ruddiness from birth, he appeared quite normal toned. Hakari's build was never as muscular as his siblings, Urapa and Meina. Instead, he took on a fleet figure, fit from many hours running through the compounds of the clan. The young Sakurai sports yellow eyes, a trait that seemed relatively strange to the people of his, but was over-looked as the possession of the Sankakugan removed all doubts of his heritage.

Hakari was born to the Sakurai Clan, adorned with the Sankakugan by blood, and features the clan shared. The third child to the family, and youngest Hakari grew up knowing quite a bit about pampering. His sibling often looked down upon the boy, considering the child weak for natural aversion for the love of combat they shared. Though true members of the clan, the family was often seen as strange, for the faint difference of their appearance raised many questions.
Hakari's father was a traveler, unable to stay in one place for an extended period of time. The man was also never a true fighter, a diplomat on all grounds. How he had come to court his mother, Hakari would never know. The two were polar opposites, absolutely unalike in every aspect. While his father tended to drift, his mother was a fiercely loyal home body, that harbored a dominant and forceful aptitude to all around her. This is probably what drove the two apart eventually however, of course after bringing three children into the world...
Many months before Hakari was even thought of, his father had been on an unusually long voyage to Bird Country, observing the wildlife and meeting the natives to spread knowledge to the Sakurai Clan. Intelligence on outside lands were always helpful to the hunter people, relying on these reports to plan on victim's captures. His father did not return for weeks, staying away much longer then he originally stated, and the people began to worry.
Weeks passed, and still no word from the diplomat. He was presumed dead, and Hakari's mother would begin to look for a new spouse. It was not until early fall, one year after he left did his father return, rejoicing in his findings. The clansmen questioned him relentlessly, and he told quite a bit about the lands abroad, but seemed slightly evasive. The elders did not press, glad to have the man back. When he returned to his wife, the two would act as if nothing had been wrong all that year, and continued their happy marriage...
After the birth of Urapa, Hakari's father was finally confronted by his mother. The boy looked....different! Surely there was an explanation behind this strange appearance! Few payed heed, as rarely did anyone come close enough to observe the child, but a mother always knows these things. Hakari's father was forced to talk, explaining his promise of silence. The people of Bird Country had been more receptive then he had expected, and he had even discovered clan of mountain dwellers. These people were known as the Tokagekuran.
The relations with these people were slow going, but he was driven after observing their way of life. The people were hunters like them, relying on heat and their natural guile to hunt down prey. He could learn from these people, bring back a wealth of knowledge that could glorify the Sakurai people! Many months he spent meeting with these people, whom he had come to call the "Lizard People." They all shared the slitted features, and almost unnoticeable scale like cells. He was amazed by the diversity of the clan, telling tales of his own heritage that seemed to fascinate the mountain dwellers.
After much deliberation of their council, the Tokagekuran decided Hakari's father was worthy of the title "Lizard Friend." The sections of the people were divided into these titles, and his new found possession was held by those the clan trusted, but were not by blood. He served the clan for weeks, that turned into months. He traveled to outside lands, earning money and sending the wealth back to the people of the mountains. They were pleased with his performance, allowing him to delve deeper and deeper into their shrouded ways.
It had been in mid summer before his return that he received the ritual, The Ritual of the Scales. The experience was frightening, but the clan felt that if he was to become any more involved in their affairs, he was to be amerced in their culture. He had been changed, taking on the faint scale like cells he was so very interested in, now more keen to heat signatures, a trait his eyes shared as well. It would seem they had forged a fusion of harmony.
Hakari's father would make the voyage back to the village months later, but he had been sworn to secrecy, and would be slaughtered if he told the world of the people's existence. His wife would have to know though, he could never put her through the torture of not knowing the heritage of her own children. The off spring would become the first of the Tokagekuran and Sakurai fusion, born with traits from both.
Hakari's mother was distraught, her loyal personality believing this treason to the blood line. His father calmly explained the Sakurai's tolerance of delving into other clan's, even encouraging the diversity among them. His mother, still unsettled drifted apart from her husband, finally leaving him after two more children, Meina and Hakari. Each was blessed with the traits of both clans, and learned of the ways of both from the respective parent. Their eyes and senses developed, becoming ace hunters that even at their young ages were respected by upper clansmen.
Hakari dabbled in both of his origins, enjoying what his father said in the past, "the diversity of their family." His siblings and himself took very different paths, himself seeking out more stealthy trainers, while they sought Kenjutsu masters, and Maishin elites. Hakari, though a sword user with his clan's Rezawaia katana, he did not prefer a pure strength use of the weapon. After much debate, the children would be escorted back to Bird, to which Hakari's father would explain the situation to the Tokagekuran, whom seemed incredibly pleased that their trait was able to be passed down through a Lizard friend. Each under went the ritual, advancing through the ranks, to become half blood Lizardmen.
Hakari now resides in the Cloud Village, his mother's loyal streak running strong through his veins. His mother and father live apart, and he visits them occasionally, dividing his time amongst the two. It is rare for Hakari to associate with Urapa, or Meina, so both have taken a different life style, one much opposite of his own. Having graduated the academy with ease, and scraping through the chuunin exams with deception and the help of his disgruntled siblings, Hakari stands tall as citizen and shinobi of Kumogakure.
