Unmei no Michi is strange. Although she smiles and laughs, although she asks questions and shares compliments, she is strange. Perhaps it is the unfathomable gleam in her inquisitive eyes, that hints at bizarre depths, or maybe the way she trails her fingers along fences and tables, as if utterly consumed in the task. It could be the way she keeps her pinky finger hooked in her companion's belt loops at his waist, a vague smile hovering about her lips.
Even without her quirks, it's impossible to say the girl is good-hearted. She seems to lack the basic morality of what is right and wrong, instead stealing or causing harm with the most genuinely oblivious expression, honestly shocked when informed that she should not behave as such.
However, her whimsical and happy-go-lucky demeanour tends to make up for the real aspects of her personality. On the outside, she is simply a happy, carefree girl, and only those few flashes into her true, and rather bewildering depths, hint that this appearance belies something much more sinister.
Overall, this odd girl behaves exactly how she sees fit, regardless of the harm or trouble it could cause others. The only person she really takes note of is Hirohata, who seems to be able to bring her all the way back from her quirky edge of sense.

Unmei is a rather unconventional sight. Initially, the bright green of her hair is what stands out, tumbling hapahazardly down her back, often pinned up ineffectively with clasps and ribbons, never quite managing to hold up the verdant strands. Then her eyes, perhaps even brighter green than her hair, framed with thick dark lashes, standing out from her pale face, curious and daring. Though not typically pretty, the girl has always said she's rather less interested in looking pretty, than she is in looking pretty interesting.
Soft pink lips, a small nose and unobtrusive ears complete the girl's striking features, complimented with arched eyebrows, more often than not animated in delight or annoyance. A rather petite figure, at odds with the typical build of a shinobi. Her attire is another matter entirely, as outlandish as her hair and tailored to fit her unorthadox needs. Unmei has full-heartedly embraced the roots of her beloved fortune telling, slipping traditional gypsy-esque elements into her dressing.
Pleated dresses and skirts, embellished with ribbon or broaches, and cropped tops rimmed with lace and puffed sleeves, the girl loves the authentic aura she imagines it gives her trade. Tearing up clothes and sewing them back together in altered shapes, pinning and decorating her garmets on a whim, essentially shaping a bizarre, yet adorable ensemble, full of quirks and personal twists.
Many people ask Unmei about the gold circles painted on her forehead, and while she tends to answer mysteriously, in reality, they are simply decoration to hide the scars there, inflicted by her darling Ren. Not only there, but just under her breast, and on her thigh, she also sports now healed scars, inevitable trinkets from the rocky relationship.

history ;
Although she'll always tell people she was born very far away, the truth is, Unmei is rather unsure about her place of birth. She remembers her mother and father, two people who doted on their darling daughter, but about her surroundings, the girl remembers nothing. Aside from having some sort of early memory block, her days in the Kusagakure shinobi academy are remembered rather vividly.
In particular, one boy stands out. A scruffy, skinny thing with dark hair who had caught her eye from a very early age. They were placed in the same academy squad, herself, another boy, and Ren Hirohata; the boy who ended up meaning everything to her. Due to conflicts in nature, from that point on, Unmei did everything she could to outshine her teammate Hirohata, and inevitably, this involved the two of them getting into numerous scuffles. As they grew up, the relationship developed bizarrely, and to this day, the almost adult Unmei will still try to push the man out of a window at every chance.
And is still oblivious to just how much he means to her.
Her life did not veer away from traditional shinobi upbringing a great deal. Although her parents were faraway, the girl had her companions and teachers, and flourished as a shinobi. Her love of the occult and of the night simply grew, and ended up expressing itself in her combat art. The readings for herself continue to leave a great deal awaiting her, thankfully placing Hirohata at her side.
She'll only wait and see what the cards hold for her!
