Character Depth
Personality:
Introverted- Wan is very introverted about his emotions and beliefs, often keeping them stored around from other people. He is very conscious of his surroundings, though, but more often than not, he doesn't provide his opinion of the surroundings. This doesn't hinder his relationship building or interaction with others on the outside; he'll still "chit-chat" with others, and interact when the interactions aren't too serious. After a certain point, though, Wan seems to sink into his own shell, especially when personal inquiries are made.
Sarcastic- Wan is very sarcastic around others, regardless of how well he knows the people. Of course, it is obvious that his sarcasm will be targeted towards people who dislike him more often, but Wan has been known to spit venom towards friends and even family. Despite this, Wan hardly ever is serious with his remarks towards his friends. To those who he dislikes, all's fair to Wan, and he'll verbally assault you without mercy.
Humorous- By far the quickest way to befriend Wan is through humor and jokes. He enjoys a good laugh whenever possible, and will often times return to favor with jokes of his own. His humor levels are diverse, and he can laugh at just about anything, even cracks at him himself; if this were to occur, though, the joker better be able to handle a refute. Another trademark of Wan is to crack a joke just before beginning combat; his superstition is that the louder the laugh he receives, the better outcome of the fight.
Adventurous- Wan suffers from the disease many peers of his age suffer from: Travel Fever. Wan has the desire to travel the world, and he saw the shinobi force as one way to make his dreams a reality. Thus, Wan's choices in life depend on where these choices will take him. Forget working as the Kage of the village when he can travel the world on missions. Forget an eight-to-five job; give him the courier runs and the supply transfers. Wan seeks friends who share the same desires him, and he maintains a certain loathing to those who would rather sit around; this isn't just literal, either. Wan also dislikes people who doesn't want to get somewhere in there life in general; not a new location, per say, but a new, better lifestyle.
Feminine- Wan's most defining attribute is his feminism. From his girlish appearance, to his choice of fashion, Wan bears the look of a feminine person. Somewhere along the line, this feminism transferred into his personality. Wan connects with women more than men, not just sensually, but mentally too. Wan lacks the desire to do the "boy things,"
and is much more willing to hang with females. This feminism doesn't transfer over to his gender preferences, as he still is a straight man. His interactions with women, though, hold deeper meanings than just the fulfillment of desires; these interactions are just more satisfying and interesting to Wan than what he could have with a boy.
Appearance:
Wan, overall, looks the part of a pure-blooded Yamanaka child. Standing at an average height, the first aspect of Wan is his thin body tone. He isn't scrawny, per say, but he isn't buff either. His skin is pale, mostly due to his extended periods spent inside. Both his arms and legs are small, but there are muscles to be found. For the moment, Wan is lacking in tattoos and scars, but that will surely change as he ages.
Feminine best describes Wan's visage. From his sharp chin to smooth complexion, Wan possesses the beauty that is found within the Yamanaka clan. His eyes are a vibrant blue, that seem to sparkle in the sun and glow in the dusk. His hair is a dull blond, not pale or bright like other Yamanakas, which he keeps pinned up in the back; the hair, overall, barely brushes the shoulder when let down. His bangs are left untouched, though, thus his eyes are often covered by the blond foliage. His nose is small, his lips thin, and his cheekbones sharp.
Red is the primary color in Wan's wardrobe, due to his fascination with fire. He often couples this color with blacks or grays. On a normal day, Wan will usually wear a sleeveless vest, black or gray in color, without an undershirt or anything underneath; thus, some of his pecs are visible in the cut of his vest. Black slacks are usually matched with this vest, and instead of the traditional shinobi sandals, Wan wears black sneakers. Wan also has a habit of painting his fingernails either black or red, as well as wearing arm sleeves with the fingers cut out. His most defining trait, though, are his extensive use of belts in his outfits. Besides the usual belt around the waist, Wan usually also wears a small belt around his arms, as well as belt buckles where the buttons on his vest would usually be. More often than not, this is where the red comes out in his outfits. As for his shinobi headband, he wears it on the forehead, but the bangs are usually covering it from sight.
Background:
Wan was born to a pair of Yamanaka, Shikaku and Fiona, both of which were members of the Kusagakure shinobi military force, so from an early age that he would be a shinobi himself. One thing Wan didn't know, though, was who he wanted to be. He could be like his father, who was known for his genjutsu, or his mother, who was a renowned medical specialist. Had it not been that event, Wan may have chosen one of those paths.
Following his interaction with Renzo, though, Wan had little other desire than being the best puppeteer in the world.
Wan was about ten when he met Renzo, a bodyguard for a traveling dignitary from the Sand. During the group's visit, they became the target of some hired thugs from some crime boss the dignitary had angered. Right before Wan's eyes, he watched Renzo wield his puppets, single handedly defeating all of the thugs. Wan had seen some good fighters in his time, but this one surpassed them all; Wan had fallen in love.
So Wan sought Renzo out like the little kid he was and begged to be taught this fighting style. At first, the bodyguard was unsure of this, but Wan warmed up to him and began teaching him the basics. In the end, their sessions were cut short by Renzo's departure. Before he left, though, Renzo bestowed upon Wan a goal in life.
"Master this art form, and than come find me."
And with that, Wan's teacher was gone, leaving only behind the style that would mold Wan for the rest of his life. He wasn't solely a puppeteer, though, as Wan inherited his father's aptitude with genjutsu, and his mother's talent in the clan techniques. Wan also developed a fascination with fire just before graduating from the academy. Thus, Wan was a well-rounded ninja, but in the end, puppetry was his life.
Now thirteen, and newly promoted genin of Kusagakure, Wan has a goal to achieve and a whole life ahead of him to achieve it in.
