A man's face is his autobiography. A woman's face is her work of fiction.
~ The Great Façade~
Ever changing like the ocean that surround her. The woman known as Cira is a master of the arts when it comes to disguise. Standing a mere five feet and five inches Cira has a fairly average stature which is excellent in her opinion because it allows her to blend in easily. Her creamy skin is perfectly pampered and unmarred. No scars or birthmarks dare to deface her perfect complexion. Her soft skin seemingly glows under the rays of the moon, illuminating her with an ethereal light like an archaic goddess from days gone by. Midnight black hair hangs in perfectly straight locks and extends down to the back of her knees. Her snaky locks are usually left down with a simple flower ornament pinned upon the left side of her head. Depending upon the occasion her locks will be tamed and twisted into an elegantly beautiful style.
Dark almond shaped eyes rest under perfectly arched brows. The calculating stare from her eyes seems as if she is piercing a person’s very soul. Her nose is perfectly set and straight, showing no signs of past damage. Her full lips are as red as the reddest rose and have in place the perfect pout which she uses in order to gain her will. Her lips are often turned into a wicked smile. Upon her left wrist is a red silk gauntlet, twisted around from her wrist nearly to her elbow and secured by a red velvet tie, each end of the tie holds a small bead with the ying yang symbol pained upon it. Her curvaceous body is perfectly proportioned to draw the eyes of men and women alike.
An originally styled kimono covers her thin frame. The red material is patterned with faint white designs. The sleeves rest upon her shoulders and extend down to her elbows, dropping down into pocket like folds below her arms. The kimono-dress is split across the chest, nearly all the way down to the obi. The split exposes a generous amount of her bosom making it easy to see that she does not bind her chest like so many others who practice the fighting arts. The skirt of the dress cuts off just above her knees, a layer of black lace extends to cover her knees. Around her middle is a solid crimson obi. Above this is a thin layer of silk to which another pink flower and ribbon design, much like the one in her hair.
For formal wear Cira will don an elegant Chinese gown known as a cheongsam. The sleeveless silk garment has a high collar which is pinned together across the throat. The collar swoops down into a keyhole revealing a small portion of her chest. The black garment is patterned with small red flowers. The asymmetrical gown is slit up the right side to her thigh while the left side hangs down over her calve. This gown is worn typically when entertaining company or when she attends an occasion of importance.
For nightwear the woman wears another variation of a kimono. Cobalt silk covers her shoulders and sheer fabric hangs over the biceps. The gown crosses in front much like a kimono and a thick band of grey silk binds the garment just below her chest. The layered silk skirt is cobalt blue patterned with a wheel that displays the moon phases and the zodiac symbols. The skirt ends just below her knees. Overall her look changes depending on her need. Though she prefers dresses she will swap them out for pants when it is needed.
Another interesting aspect of her appearance is one rarely seen, ink. Across her lower back she has the words "The Devil's sins are ours alone to bare" in an elegant script befitting of her nature. On the back of her right hand just her thumb was the kanji for moon. (月) This symbolizes her rank in the Gintsuki no Mai discipline. A third tattoo has come to light now. Just abover her tattoo bearing the words of sin is a spiral symbol in purple and crimson, bearing spikes. Few know the meaning of the strange sign.
I have an idea that the phrase "weaker sex" was coined by some woman to disarm some man she was preparing to overwhelm.
Adventurous – When it comes to seeking out new horizons and taking risks Hatsumi Suri is the girl to see. The woman holds a passion for travel and will go through countless risks in order to reach her goal. Suri dreams of visiting every place on the map and discovering new places. There are very few things Suri wouldn’t do. Her love for adventure has giving her a fearless outlook, letting nothing penetrate the exhilarating smile that the rush of adventure puts upon her elegant face. As par for the course Suri has attained various injuries in her pursuit of adventure but nothing can put a damper on her ever increasing energy.
Stubborn – When it comes down to it Suri will stop at nothing to get what she wants. The girl will argue her point until she has completely worn down her opponent. Her verbal backhand is indeed something to be weary of. She can become incredibly unreasonable and persistent when it comes down to it. Suri can be completely blinded to logical thinking and reason. Her stubbornness is far from one of her more endearing personality traits but Suri rarely cares what other people think of her personality. When it comes to getting her way Suri uses her intelligence and her feminine whiles to work people to her method of thinking.
Energetic – Never ending stamina is one of the traits Suri values in others, and herself. Though she does very little formal training in taijutsu she still has better than average stamina. No matter what the situation the girl has the energy to continue on until her task is completed. Her energy can be somewhat contagious as she presses other to do their best as well. Suri believes in giving any task her best effort; otherwise there is no point in doing it in the first place. To progress that thought the girl does not believe in attempts, only in success and accomplishments.
Cruel – While presenting herself with a superficial charm this is in reality a façade. A beautiful exterior hides a cruel interior. With slightly sociopathic tendencies this woman will deliberately and remorseless cause pain and anguish. Suri has no sympathy for others pain or fear and will watch others suffer without so much as blinking. The blackness of Suri’s heart can erase any trace of beauty from her features. As is her act however, the girl can act like a king-hearted people lover with ease. It is these opposing qualities that make it difficult for a person to know what is hiding behind those calculating dark eyes.
Cold Hearted – Hand in hand with Suri’s hidden cruelty is her cold heart. Suri has an intense dislike of people, women in particular. In her eyes humans only exist to serve her. If a person is of no interest Suri is quiet excellent at ignoring people or pretending they do not exist. Besides her lack of interest is a lack of sympathy and warmth. Once again a person is forced to question whether or not the woman suffers from some level of sociopathy. Her lack of warmth or kindness is shocking. Only those who know exactly what to look for can see the cold and calculation look in her eyes, and the hint of disgust when she watches others.
Deceptive – When it comes to weaving a twisted web of lies and half truths Suri reigns as the queen. Lies flow from her tongue like water, without so much of a flinch or hint of a false hood. Only a keenly trained eye such as the Sharingan can see through her deceptions. However there is one thing even a dojutsu cannot pierce and that is the lie of her name. In her mind Suri has legally and literally become Cira. No one knows her true name and slowly that name is drifting from her mind. This is only one of the many deceptions the illusionist has become skilled with. Deceptions of the mind, body, and soul are life blood to the elegant practitioner of the arts.
Pioneering – Suri cannot help but laugh when people use the term ‘pioneering’ to describe her. Though it may hold true that she is quite the innovator she cannot help but balk at the prairie terminology. The woman enjoys not only creating new techniques and unique strategies but also putting a new spin on old things. An expert strategist and a brilliant tactician, the woman is often consulted for ideas. Creation of new techniques is her specialty however, this allows her to create entirely new deception to hoodwink her opponents, degrading them until all that is left is the broken shell of a person.
Courageous – Like the heroes of the past Suri has exhibited extreme amounts of courage over the years. Whether being faced by dangerous situations or having her body racked by pain nothing is able to deviate the woman from her chosen course of action. Bravery coupled with stubbornness makes for a difficult adversary. There are very few things on this green earth that can unsettle Suri, and even fewer can cause her discomfort or fright. Suri is always able to work in face of fear or pain and it is this fact that makes her a worthy companion. Though loyalty is not her strong suit Suri rarely breaks promises, and will help others if there is something for her to gain.
Enthusiastic – When it comes to something Suri is truly interested in she is incredibly enthusiastic. Her passion known no limits and she can become extremely devoted and obsessive over that which is drawn her eye. Though it seems strange for someone who is not exactly the exemplar of a good person even Suri has her redeeming qualities, and her passion is one of them. With her mind set on something her enthusiasm is almost suffocating. When it comes down to it Suri simply has an overwhelming presence that most people are not capable of handling but in reality her enthusiasm is a very good thing that helps her accomplish tasks she would other wise ignore.
Confident – When Suri enters a room she is noticed. Some invisible aura draws the attention of the crowd. No matter what the situation Suri appears to own the room. She is extremely self-assured and allows nothing to put her out of sorts. Insults roll of her like water, doing nothing to damage her self-esteem. However anger over is another topic, and revenge is sweet. Despite her awe inspiring confidence Suri has somehow avoided gaining an overly large ego. She simply brushes of compliments with a word of thanks and continues about her night. The woman has achieved an excellent balance between dark and light when it comes to her self image.
Obsessive – Similar to the stubbornness she exudes Suri can find herself completely and totally taken by an idea to the point of obsession. Often times when in this state she will forget to eat and is capable of making horrible decisions due to her preoccupation. Perhaps even worse than her capability of making poor decisions is the flaring temper that is turned on anyone who attempts to sway her away from the object of her obsession. Hell fire has little heat compared to the flash fire of Suri. Those who cross her in a time of obsession soon learn there is a fate worse than death.
Dynamic – Though nearly synonymous with energetic dynamic is the best term to describe the driving force Suri exhibits. This vigorousness allows her to get things going and to get things done. When she latches onto something she is completely driven by her purpose, letting nothing stop her from completing the goal, and urging others to do the same. On the flip side if she does not believe whole heartedly in the task she is very unlikely to put herself on the line for its completion. When something catches Suri’s eye however there is no looking back. This driving force is a trait that has gotten the illusionist very far in the world, and will continue to help her excel.
Quick Witted – One of the most wondrous traits to have in battle is the ability to think on your feet. Thus is the skill that Suri has made an art of. Regardless of pressure or danger Suri has no problem making snap decisions. Besides simply making decisions she is able to keep a cool head thus allowing her to make good decisions in the heat of the moment. Oddly enough pain has never effected her decision making either, something within her mind allows Suri to close off the world and go somewhere were all is calm and serene, thus allowing her to ignore outside influences and make clear concise decisions.
Jealous – When it comes to Suri jealous is apparent in certain aspects. She is not one of the people who believe the grass is greener on the other side; she is well aware of that fact and rarely covets material possessions. However she is suspicious of those who draw attention of others away from her. Any who does such a thing is immediately marked as her rival. Suri demands loyalty from those who surround her and is incredibly unforgiving. Suri sees those her surrounding her as her personal property and will go to extremes to be sure that they are not stolen away from her.
Selfish – When it comes down to the heart of the matter Suri is always looking out for number one, herself. Her desires and interests reign first and foremost even at the expense of others. Suri has few qualms showing others who comes first in her mental line up. Suri gets what she wants and will use others as stepping stools along the way without a char. In essence she is the person who wants her cake, and to eat it too. Though not completely adverse to sharing things in a minimized situation, when it comes to the gold though Suri will always be number one.
Quick Tempered – The fiery ball of energy that is Suri should have been born a red head. Suri is easily angered and can be set off by the smallest statements that seem miniscule and unimportant to others. Her anger burns red hot and when in an angered state she can give off the impression of her blood boiling. On the flip side certain things anger her not into a fiery rage but into an icy smile. With a stone set face it seems as if the woman is calmly plotting the best way to murder the one who angered her. She is slow to cool down and any who cross her will know the meaning of the phrase hell hath no fury.
Impulsive – Spontaneity does not even begin to describe the impulsiveness of Suri. Sudden urges and desires are life blood to the illusionist. Whatever whims come her way Suri is driven to fulfill them, or have others fulfill them for her. Far be it for someone to say no to woman. Whether it is an appetite for freshly picked strawberries or someone’s blood upon her hands Suri will see it done without worry or remorse over anyone who may suffer for it. Her impulsiveness coupled with her love for adventure often takes her to foreign places or occasionally throwing into a fight. No matter the result she loves following through with her impulses.
Impatient – No matter the circumstances or surroundings Suri detests waiting. Whether it be waiting to go on an adventure or waiting for a boat Suri’s patient is worn thin before the waiting even begins. Delays are one of the many things that will set Suri off as she silently fumes the entire time. If there is another way for her to get things done without being forced to wait she will find it. Life is an adventure for Suri and she does not plan to spend it waiting in line like some idiot who doesn’t know what is out there waiting for them.
Daredevil – Suri is a daring risk taker. She can be ridiculously care free and show complete disregard of danger. It plays in that Suri loves a challenge and rarely backs down. When times of trouble come Suri bounces back with ease. As stated before the girl is fearless, from heights to spiders the girl is astonishingly free of these human binds. Suri will run the gamut of the countries searching for some new and unseen task which she can use to try herself.
Naïve – At a glance Suri is the last person you would expect to be naïve and truth be told she is not. Naïve was a trait Suri once had that has been beaten out of her after time. She does have a strict policy with trust however. When someone enters her circle they immediately gain her trust however she will watch them carefully and if someone breaks her trust they will never be able to work their way back into her good graces. In her opinion those who break her trust are d**ned to hell and she will help them get there a bit faster. Of course the same does not apply to trust people place in her.
Aggressive – Incredibly assertive and having a tendency to do harm to others are all things that describe Suri. When a competition shows itself Suri will use whatever means necessary to win. Along with her love of contests is her dislike of authority figures. Suri plays little regard to the rules and dislikes those who attempt to force their ideas upon her. Suri has little regard when it comes to doing physical violence but does not partake in the process unless she could somehow gain from it. Gain of course can be anything from protecting her honor to stopping someone who has gotten in her way.
Chaotician – Suri is the type of person who grows bored easily, when things loose her interest Suri likes to stir up change and put them in motion. Suri enjoys watching and studying how different people react to different things. Because of this she has gained the ability to read people with decent accuracy. Though she has the ability to read people Suri is not so stupid as to believe that she can fit everyone in a nice tiny box. Chaos has a way of throwing unpredictable things into the mix. Suri also knows that whatever can go wrong probably will and plans for those very occurrences.
Social – Suri is a social butterfly when it comes down to it. She loves the spot light and goes out of her way to attract a crowd. Lavish parties with high class guest lists are her passion. Even though she dislikes people for the most part she believes they all serve their purpose. Sowing strong social bindings is a good way to move ahead in the world therefore when it comes to entertaining guests in one of her many retreats Suri pulls out all the stops and spares no expenses. She knew from the beginning it was important to have friends in high places thus she aims to sow these friendships and gain favors in a political game of Russian roulette.
Flaky – Flaky is a slight term when it comes to describing the illusionists. Suri has a habit of starting things and not finishing them because they loose her interest. When it comes to broken promises however it is usually because she never intended to keep them in the first place. It is usual easy to tell when Suri does intend to keep her promises because she will put down money or something else as a form of collateral. She will willing spend and buy people to gain what she wants. Whoever said money can’t buy happiness was a fool in her opinion because she uses money often to buy happiness for herself.
Creative – A creative genius of the arts, Suri is a lover of all the fine things in life. She is an accomplished pianist, though that is only of the many instruments she plays. She is constantly creating new songs for the piano and for her voice. However Suri will not perform publicly unless asked. She is also a painter, who churns out artwork for top notch galleries and her own home. She is able to craft vases and other such things. Though she does not come off as the type to get her hands dirty Suri has a passion for creation and likes to see that which is brought to life through her own handiwork.
Non-conformist – Known as a maverick and a rebel, Suri is an independent thinker who refuses to conform to normalcy. She lives without regard to what convention dictates making her a true free spirit. Beyond that she is incredibly unpredictable; she changes her schedule on a whim just to avoid being caught in some type of pattern. Thinking in the main stream mind set is incredibly boring in her opinion and she refuses to take part in such a dull and old fashioned idea. Suri would much rather be free to think and do what she pleases as opposed to conform to societies version of normal.
Manipulative – The elegant actress that is Suri is one of the most devious creatures to walk the face of the earth. She was raised to become an accomplished actress meaning she easily slips in and out of the roles she chooses to portray. Beyond that she is a verbal wizard, talking people into corners and subtly urging them to agree with her own views before they even realize what has happened. She is very clever and enjoys using whatever means necessary to influence a person. She spends her time calculating and scheming in order to attain her desires and bending people to her will.
Women keep a special corner of their hearts for sins they have never committed.
The fool. In one day of complete irony the story would begin. The Daiyamo of Bear was proved to be a foolish man when a child was born. The child was born not to his wife but a woman who was apparently his mistress. That child was also female, making the man seem twice the fool for not being able to produce an heir. In an attempt to hide the shameful situation the man had placed himself in he gathered a large sum of money and offered it to his one time mistress in exchange for her taking the child and moving away from the land of bears and never speaking of the incident to anyone. The mistress was no fool and took the offered money before beginning the long road away from bear. Despite the foolish lord the woman prized her daughter and bestowed upon her the name of Suri, meaning princess.
After much travel Suri and her mother found themselves in the Sea country. It was here that the woman would begin to build her home and build a life for herself and her daughter. The woman herself was an excellent seamstress with a gift for embroidery. With these skills at her disposal her work as a dress maker would begin. Over time the business flourished and Suri grew. Even at a young age it was obvious that Suri was a precocious child and highly intelligent for an age. This was a pleasant shock for her mother who expected little from a child born under the sign of the fool. By the age of seven it was obvious that Suri required an outlet with which to apply the amazing amount of energy she had. And at her mothers whim that outlet was acting.
And with that Suri took her place in the local theater group. Even here Suri did well to baffle the adults around her. The child had an amazing ability to change between roles and emotions at the drop of a pin and her memorization skills were positively phenomenal. At such a young age the child was the focal point of many plays. By the age of ten even acting was not enough to satiate the girl’s boundless energy and tendency of boredom. With that being said the vocal lessons began to help entertain the girl and to increase the broadness in which types of performances the girl could appear. And thus her career extended to musicals as well. Such appearances continued until Suri was fourteen.
The youthful years are tough for most teenagers though Suri was not one of them. She took her mothers impending illness with a cool amount of maturity. For nearly a year Suri served as a nurse for her desperately ill mother. Medic after medic assured Suri that there was nothing that could be done except keeping her comfortable. Thus the illness became a waiting game and shortly before her fifteenth birthday her mother passed away. Death bed confessionals always make things interesting though. Suri’s mother left her with few things: her bloodline, a key to a trunk that she had never seen, and a few final words which would haunt her forever. “You truly are a princess… I’m sorry I had to lie.”
With a hardened heart from the recent loss of her mother Suri would unlock the truck with the antique key. Hidden within the trunk were a handful of elegant and smutty dresses. A ticket marking the passage to the land of Sea and a music box. Curiously the young girl would examine the music box, winding it and hearing a tremendously haunting melody. The inside of the box was lined with red velvet and held many pieces of jewelry. On the bottom of the box two names were scribed her mothers, and a name that she only vaguely recognized. Through careful research the girl discovered the truth behind the second name, the deceased Daiyamo of Bear. A man that, through all logics sake, was her father.
Shocked and disgusted the girl would pack her belongings and take her leave. Not only did she have no real friends within the country but the constant care of her mother left her with few assets. Thus the wandering began. Shortly after she reached the Claw country she found a band of wandering actors and musicians who traveled through the countries putting on shows of various kinds. Intrigued by the idea and short of money the girl would join with them, planning on sticking with the group only until she could gather enough money of her own to take her leave. In a way she became a gypsy. If not directly involved with the performance she would make her way through the audience raiding pockets and wallets for money.
In time the girl was able to abandon the group of foolish travelers and make her way to a place of solitude. Her wanderings eventually brought her to the nearly deserted land of Moon. It was around this time that Suri realized her true disgust of humanity and desired solitude. In her wanderings around the island she ran across an elderly man who would change her life. The man recognized the girl as his long lost granddaughter, entirely on his own accord of course. The man insisted as addressing her as Cira, a name which the orphan never disputed. As time passed the pair grew closer until Suri, now Cira, was brought to live in his manor.
Within months the man passed away of rather suspicious causes that were never truly investigated. His entire estate was left to Cira, his granddaughter and thus a new life would begin. The majority of the staff was dismissed except for a woman who came to clean once a week. Somewhere between leaving the group of actors and ending up on the island of moon the willowy blond girl was transformed into an expertly curved woman with hair as black as night. Her tanned skin now showed pale white and her modest and practical clothing was exchanged for more provocative wear. Social alliances were sewn and parties were held. The sweet and precocious girl once known as Suri was long gone leaving in her place the elegant seductress that was Cira.
