Aistyn WakizashiPersonality:
Appearance:
Hakkyou is, above all else, a pacifist. Through his travels he was introduced to the Tao philosophy and does his best to live by it. When given a situation where violence is inevitable, his usual reaction is to immediately diffuse it by a secret technique he himself helped to develop, and if that doesn’t work he tries to talk down both parties to peace. When directly attacked, however, he does not hesitate to destroy the attacker, proof of what he once was, but he usually seeks those that might have offended in his defense and apologizes. He often speaks in haiku.
In his transition to his pacifist ways, he had to constantly battle his old ego, one of a bloodthirsty fighter and a true killer. In his early years he was quite aggressive, earning a bit of a reputation even as a bully in his first year of academy. That reputation grew into a much harsher one, showing his highly competitive and aggressive nature through his missions and he was often disciplined for using excessive force. His failure to attain the rank of chuunin in the first of his exams demoralized him, but even more set a subconscious contempt for anyone who could ever fall into competition with him. His missions afterward slowly revealed a cold side to him, stolid and reserved. These both lie dormant and suppressed inside him, and may the gods help the first person to awaken them.
Bloodlimit: Byakugan
He has the normal Hyuuga eyes, ragged-looking, straight dark brown hair that would reach to his shoulder blades if not kept up in a pony tail. Most of the time he can be seen wearing long, silk robes of either a pale off-white or red. Around his waist is a sash that holds his wakizashi and an opium pipe, along with a pouch. He can generally be seen wearing some sort of flower weaved into his hair, usually a small lotus.

Hakkyou was born to the noble Hyuuga clan in the village of leaf. There, he spent his first sixteen years in intense training, learning to use the Byakugan and the Jyuuken fighting style to the best of his abilities. Somehow he was lucky enough to be born to the main branch of the family, and thus earned by birth the teachings of the Hyuuga’s ancient art – the Jyuuken. Hakkyou during this time was heavily dedicated to his studies, but also a bit of an... upstart. Until he was found out by family elders, his favorite pastime was interrupting students’ private training to fight. He was severely punished after he landed a fresh academy graduate into the village’s hospital.
His missions as a genin were something else that put him on the watch of some higher officials. His first missions with his team went smoothly, being routine and non-combative. The particular oddities began to occur as the missions became more dangerous. Nine out of ten missions everything would go smoothly, but his teammates would often be switched from mission to mission. One mission had him with two new members, an unfamiliar jounin leader, and a teammate he had been with a dozen times before. Because of that, and their individual abilities, they were paired up in case the team needed to split up. They were in fang country when a group of rogue ninjas, mostly of the academy level and barely much of a threat, attacked the caravan they were escorting. Their initial push was thwarted and Hakkyou and his partner were dispatched to ensure they wouldn’t be returning.
The aftermath was grim. The bandits were indeed taken care of. Over half were found bleeding from extremities, a sign of the Jyuuken’s handiwork. According to the debriefing, the pair had split up to encircle the fleeing group. In a brief moment of carelessness, Hakkyou’s teammate, a Nara, had been caught in the neck with a kunai. Hakkyou didn’t seem negatively phased by this occurrence, only solemn, and attended the funeral as any teammate would. Coincidentally, within the month the restrictions put upon him by his family’s elder were lifted.
His immaturity during his first chuunin exam was quite apparent, getting cornered on multiple occasions during the exam and almost losing someone during the team portion. In the final round, he struck his strongest rival down in a matter of seconds, breaking an arm and nearly rupturing a lung, but his obvious rage in the attacks caused his promotion to be denied.
During the next year, the incidents of his teams losing members increased. He was, however, put on increasingly dangerous missions, so that the losses were not so uncommon. On his last mission before his second chuunin exams, he was sent with a team of ANBU hopefuls to seek out a ninja recently gone missing. The runaway had mentioned to several friends, interviewed later by ANBU, that he thought some of the elder clan members thought he was a threat to their clan secrets. The return of Hakkyou’s team brought grim news – the runaway had put up a fight and had to be slain. It was later shot down, but investigating ANBU’s initial reports claimed foul play, that the entire battle scene was set up. Hakkyou entered and went through the chuunin exams as brutally as his first attempt, except this time he made his final opponent a gimp with much more of a show. His promotion was immediate.
An ANBU member was designated to keep an eye on him during his next mission. The Hyuuga managed to catch sight of him one morning, cornered him the next day. The ANBU said nothing, of course, and reasoned his being nearby on hunting a missing nin in the vicinity. Hakkyou smelled lies on his breath, but went along, completing the mission perfectly. No more deadly incidents happened for some time after, his team was solidified, and they had both one of the largest success rates and lowest casualty rates in the village.
A couple months after these incidents, he had a fight with several of the branch family’s children, hospitalizing all three and bringing one to an inch of his life. He was scolded firmly and sentenced to some rather grueling and mundane punishment. The night after this happened, he left from the village at night without so much as a word. Knowing the ANBU would be after him by morning, he fled quickly to the South, into Tea country, and stowed away on the first ship he found.
As fate would have it, that vessel would be traveling to the southern continent. Hakkyou successfully evaded the team pursuing him and managed to sneak out of the ship he was stowing away in without being seen. He is still listed in Leaf as a D-rank missing-nin, and has largely been presumed dead. On the southern continent, he struck out to find a new life. He met an odd ninja clan, the Temujin Dhënada, and found refuge in their village. While there, he observed some rather strange and powerful techniques, watching them with his Byakugan. He inquired one of the elder members of the clan about learning these techniques, and was directed toward their sacred cave.
Many in the clan thought he was too impure to survive the ritual, or that he would prove to be unable to become purified if he did survive. Bets were made in a joking manner as everyone encouraged him on his way in. He was escorted into place and then left, no one expected him to live. At the end of the third day, though, they were all surprised to find him still conscious, and completely changed. He learned the techniques of the Dhënada ravenously, and adopted their name as his own. He spent five years with the Temujin Dhënada, and became very close.
Finally, he decided it was time for him to move on with his journey. He left the Dhënada village and ventured for about a month, finally falling into company with a old Taoist hermit. He picked up his current clothing style, philosophy, and opium addiction from living with and traveling with the man for about a year. After some time he decided to return to his old continent with his teachings and try to spread peace through negotiation and secret jutsu he had perfected while with the old man. His appearance had completely changed in the time between his leaving and his coming, and was last seen at a port in the Snow country. He denies his relation to any hidden village on the continent and claims he hails from the Dhënada on the other continent, though he still has an unscathed Leaf headband in his travel pack.
After moving about on the continent for some time, Hakkyou ran into an interesting Hyuuga by the name of Harshini. Both being wanderers, they spent some time telling each other stories. After their trust grew, they began teaching one another their techniques. They exchanged the ways of Wakizashi Kagame and Dhënada, each learning much. After a few months, they parted ways, agreeing to meet again soon.
