Personality: In the midst of combat, Selene isn't terribly much more than your average level-headed sniper. She knows her limits better than anyone else, and won't overstay her welcome if she knows she's screwed unless it's absolutely vital to any others that she does. She also doesn't tend to talk much during battle unless strictly necessary, which has earned her the somewhat silly nickname of "Silent Selene". Combat aside, Selene tends to be a fairly laid-back person. She's easy to talk to and willing to help if you've got problems, but she doesn't particularly appreciate being dragged places against her free will just to do petty things. She's not exactly lazy so much as willful, relatively care-free, and reluctant to do things that don't interest her nor help her friends. Abusing others in her presence - especially those younger than her - is just not a bright idea. Ever. As passive and pragmatic as she may seem, she can be a bit of a 'mama bear'. Anyone she sees happily beating up younger children will likely be summarily hailed with arrows until they're a bleeding mass on the ground. She just does not like seeing others have to suffer like that, and as hypocritical as shooting them would be, it's only fair retribution for shooting both her and the child emotionally like that. Appearance: Selene's face as a whole contributes to a soft and gentle impression, which while not exactly intimidating when it needs to be, is better for her in the long run. Social interaction and all that. Her eyes are a dark blue, her gaze near-perpetually soft. Her hair is oddly a silver color despite not even being in her twenties yet, but she pays that no mind, simply keeping most of it tied back in a braid so it doesn't interfere with her work. Her body is about what one might expect from a young woman of twenty. She appears to be built slightly heavier than average, though not by much, and is growing nicely into how she'll be as a true adult. She does, on occasion, complain that her chest gets in the way of using her bow properly, but she hasn't made any attempts to try and deal with that. As for outfits, she tends to have two. Her first one, which is meant to be more casual or formal, depending on how you look at it, is a red-and-blue one-piece dress with detached sleeves and a white cloth sash around her waist. Sometimes, if she's feeling silly, she'll wear a blue hat with a red cross symbol on it. This isn't the most practical of outfits for more secretive purposes, but it works fine for most other instances. Her second outfit is more oriented toward things that require stealth. The dress is dropped in favor of a dull green shirt and a shorter skirt of the same color. She says she'd rather not wear pants because she'll never get used to the feeling of having something between her legs. In any case, the outfit blends in better with trees and stone while being somewhat easier to move in, lending itself well to sneaking around in the end. History: Selene Tsukiyami was born on a warm night in the summer into a family of traveling merchants. She was the eldest of the three siblings - two girls and a boy - that would eventually grace the family, which gave her the brunt of the responsibilities, but also a good deal of privilidges. Life was alright. Of course, this merchant family wasn't exactly the stereotypical bandit target that most are, which meant that Selene and her siblings were trained in the various arts of combat once they were old enough to understand and handle it. While her brother practiced with a wooden bokken and her sister, the youngest, fancied martial arts, Selene had taken a shine to the idea of archery. Nobody is quite sure why to this day, but she guesses it probably had to do with the fun of target practice. Eventually, though, disaster struck. No, nobody died. Business was just going horribly, and hard times fell upon the family. Selene, only twelve at the time, simply decided to up and leave, reasoning that it would be better for the rest of them if they didn't have an extra mouth to feed. She said her goodbyes, convinced her parents that nothing was going to deter her from this decision, and left for who knows where. Surviving on her own wasn't exactly fun and games at first. There were times when she wasn't any better off than her family was before, and she had to do some rather unsavory things just to get by for a while. She even ended up selling her body once or twice; something she would prefer not to ever bring up or be reminded of. It wasn't funny in the slightest. It was dehumanizing. Eventually she had a stroke of luck in the form of running into a mercenary group. Despite her still rather young age, she displayed a good deal of talent with archery, so they let her join. For the next couple years, she would follow them around, helping with whatever jobs they ended up taking. Living for combat still wasn't much of a life, but it was what she was good at, and it was better than before, at least. A few more years later, at the ripe age of eighteen, Selene parted ways with the mercenaries, a new goal set in her mind. She ended up joining Takigakure and becoming a ninja. While it was slightly embarrassing to be the oldest student still in the academy by almost a decade, that was nothing after what she had been through, and she picked up on the lessons far faster than those of the age that academy students were supposed to be at. She's now a full-fledged Genin of the Waterfall village at the age of nineteen. What will happen next is yet to be seen... |
Primary Weapons: 50 lb Draw Recurve Bow (Overview) Rank: "C" Rank Type: Main, Weapon, Bow Effect: A bow with limbs that deflect toward the back of the bow to increase leverage when the bow is strung. By one technical definition, the difference between recurve and other bows is that the string touches sections of the limbs of recurve bows when the bow is strung. Tends to use arm muscles more than back muscles to draw. Open stance is recommended for the beginning archer during their initial learning period. In this stance, the feet should be shoulder-width apart. It is recommended that the archer should distribute his/her body weight evenly on both feet. Limit: Must be an Archer Close Stance Rank: "E" [Freebie] Skill: TaiJutsu/Supplementary Effect: Gives stable support base, Gives good alignment of the arm and shoulder in direct line to the target. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: One of the four stances a user may learn as they are able to learn just one if they wish. Reduces string clearance, so string may strike against body. Tends to make archer lean away from target and overdraw the arrow. A closed stance. The shooting line is straddled and weight is evenly distributed among both feet. Left foot is moved forward a few inches so a heel-toe alignment exists between the left and right feet respectively. Limit: Must be an Archer Oblique Stance Rank: "E" [Freebie] Skill: TaiJutsu/Supplementary Effect: Gives the greatest amount of clearance for the bowstring when arrows is released. Body is in total equilibrium. Target can be seen clearly. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: One of the four stances a user may learn as they are able to learn just one if they wish. Hard to maintain, so mainly used by expert archers. Some elite archers use the oblique stance. In this stance the archer places his/her toe of the left foot nearest the target on a line and pivoting the left foot forty-five-degrees to the target. The heel of the right foot is then placed in line with the toe of the left foot. This allows the bow arm to remain in a position where there will be optimum clearance of the bowstring when the arrow is released. The target should be seen clearly while using the oblique stance. Limit: Must be an Archer Point Blank Shot Rank: "D" [10 TP] Skill: TaiJutsu/Supplementary Effect: A technique that allows a user with great proficiency to attack opponents without worrying or fumbling at a distance of ten meters. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: With this technique the user is able to fight against opponents within a ten meter radius without the worry or fear of fumbling with their bow or crossbow. They gain the courage and ability to perform combat without much effort. This is a prerequisite technique for more popular techniques. What good is an archer if they are not ready to battle while in close range. Limit: Must be an Archer Precise Shot Rank: "D" [10 TP] Skill: TaiJutsu/Supplementary Effect: When it comes to hand to hand combat, the user is able to bring in their bow and arrow into a melee attack without having any problems. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: Another prerequisite technique that brings the Archer even closer to combat without fumbling or worry of using the Bow or Crossbow. The user is able to get at extreme close range while preparing their weapon and fire at the opponent with precise ability. Limit: Must be an Archer, Must know Point Blank Shot Acrobatic Shot Rank: "C" [30 TP] Skill: TaiJutsu/Supplementary Effect: The Archer compensates with his skill for awkward attack positions, such as hanging upside down from a branch, sliding down a slope or dropping from a balcony. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: Normally an Archer must have solid footing on the ground in order to shoot proficiently. The Archer is only able to shoot at 1/3rd of their normal proficiency. With this technique the user is able to shoot at awkward positions. They may be able to shoot upside down from a branch, sliding down a slope, jumping and falling, or even rolling on the floor. The user is able to now shoot at half their proficiency . When the user learns Shot on the Run they are able to shoot at 2/3rd of their proficiency. Limit: Must be an Archer, Must know Precise Shot. Shot on the Run Rank: "C" [30 TP] Skill: TaiJutsu/Supplementary Effect: User becomes more proficient with the Bow or Crossbow in where they are able to shoot proficiently within the range of 2/3rd of their total range. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: Normally an Archer is only able to shoot within the range of half of their proficiency while on the move. This technique increases the range up to 2/3rd of the total proficient range. So a user is able to shoot within 20 meters instead of 15 meters if they are proficient at 30 meters. Limit: Must be an Archer, Must know Precise Shot Far Shot Rank: "C" [30 TP] Skill: TaiJutsu/Supplementary Effect: This technique allows a user to fire with proficiency at a larger distance of one and a half times its normal distance which would be at a total distance of 45 meters with exceptional accuracy. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: This technique allows the user to be able to shoot at a target at 45 meters into the distance instead of the normal 30 meters. This increases the user's mobility attack as well as the stationary attack allowing the user to shoot at further distances without worrying too much about close combat. Extreme Range Rank: "C" [30 TP] Skill: TaiJutsu/Supplementary Effect: This technique allows a user to fire with proficiency at a larger range of twice the normal distance which would be at a total of 60 meters with exceptional accuracy. Special: --- Drawback: Description: This technique allows the user to be able to shoot at a target at 60 meters into the distance instead of the normal 30 meters. This increases the user's mobility attack as well as the stationary attack allowing the user to shoot at further distances without worrying too much about close combat. Limit: Must be an Archer, Must know Far Shot Increased Precision Rank: "C" [30 TP] Skill: TaiJutsu/Supplementary Effect: A technique that improves the user’s capabilities of Point Blank Shot as well as Sneak Attack shots within a higher distance of twenty meters instead of ten meters. Special: --- Drawback: If opponent has techniques that finds opponents such as chakra sense then this technique will not work against them. Description: Normally a user is able to shoot at a target within 10 meters while hiding and not be seen or spotted. This technique allows the user to shoot at a further distance of 20 meters and able to stay hidden and unseen. User must stay hidden in order for this technique to work. Limit: Must be an Archer, Must know Extreme Range Legendary Sniper Rank: "D" [10 TP] Skill: TaiJutsu/Supplementary Effect: A very useful technique in which the user if within the distance of 20 meters of an opponent and hiding (without the opponent knowing where the user may be) is able to come out, fire, and move back into their hiding place without giving out his own position. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: The user gains the ability to perform sneak attacks by quickly moving out of the hiding spot and fire in a single movement and hide once more to keep their hiding place from being found or known. A perfect technique for the simple on the move hits. Limit: Must be an Archer, Must know Increased Precision Ambushing Shot Rank: "C" [30 TP] Skill: TaiJutsu/Supplementary Effect: User is able to shoot within their sneaking attack distance without having the opponent knowing where the arrow came from. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: The character can shoot from a hiding place and remain hidden. Once any target enters combat, the only benefit of this maneuver is that the opponents do not know where the arrows are coming from, unless they observe greatly. They may make a guess of the general direction from the attack, but not something accurate enough to know exact location. Limit: Must be an Archer, Must know Point Blank Shot Flawless Archer Rank: "C" [30 TP] Skill: TaiJutsu/Supplementary Effect: The Archer takes pride in his ability to kill from a distance and will not permit himself to fail when he knocks arrow and brings string to ear. This technique allows a user to fire with proficiency at a larger range than the normal distance which would be at a total of 75 meters with exceptional accuracy. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: This technique allows the user to be able to shoot at a target at 75 meters into the distance instead of the normal 30 meters. This increases the user's mobility attack as well as the stationary attack allowing the user to shoot at further distances without worrying too much about close combat. Limit: Must be an Archer, Must know Extreme Range Eagle Eye Rank: "C" [30 TP] Skill: TaiJutsu/Supplementary Effect: Your eyes are keen, your aim true. While other Archer can only strike with precision at very short distances, you can lose arrows at an ant's head at 90 meters away and reasonably expect to hit it. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: This technique allows the user to be able to shoot at a target at 90 meters into the distance instead of the normal 30 meters. This increases the user's mobility attack as well as the stationary attack allowing the user to shoot at further distances without worrying too much about close combat. Limit: Must be an Archer, Must know Flawless Archer Sniper Rank: "C" [30 TP] Skill: TaiJutsu/Supplementary Effect: By sacrificing movements the user is able to aim at longer distances with great accuracy. For every 3 movements a user sacrifices the distance of a shot may be increased with great proficiency by 10 meters. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: The user is able to sacrifice movements and is able to attack at longer distances then they normally would by aiming. For every movement the user sacrifices they are able to shoot proficiently at the max distance plus 10 extra meters. So when the user learns Far Shot and aims for 9 movements they will hit a target at 75 meters into the distance. Limit: Must be an Archer, Must know Far Shot Accurate Archer Rank: "D" [10 TP] Skill: TaiJutsu/Supplementary Effect: An attack that allows the user to fire at an opponent who is taking cover with at least half cover allowing the user to attack with greater proficiency. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: At this point the user is able to hit an opponent who is half covered with great proficiency and power able to hit an opponent with "C" Rank of power. An opponent may be hiding and it becomes difficult for an archer to hit that opponent. With this technique the user may shoot 1 arrow against the opponent per movement in which would negate hiding effects unless the opponent is 100% covered from all around. This technique allows the user to hit hidden opponents with much more ease. The user gains an extra movement however this movement is only dedicated to Archery. This means if a user has 4 movements then they are able to perform 1 extra movement only to Archery abilities and techniques. Limit: Must be an Archer, Must know Improved Rapid Shot, Must have Mastered Archer Techniques. Fast Aim Rank: "C" [20 TP] Skill: TaiJutsu/Supplementary Effect: Archer able to fire an extra time per movement while sacrificing accuracy. Special: --- Drawback: The user shoots as the same proficiency as if they were moving around. User must be stationary. Description: The user is able to take their weapon and fire an arrow quickly while sacrificing aim. The user is able to shoot an extra time for every movement that the user has. This means the user is able to shoot 3 shots for every single movement the user has at their disposal. Limit: Must be an Archer, Must know Improved Rapid Shot Shower of Arrows Rank: "C", "B", "A", "S" [20+70 TP] Skill: TaiJutsu/Supplementary Effect: Marksman is able to shoot a volley of arrows in a single movement that rains arrows down onto the opponents. Special: --- Drawback: The user shoots as the same proficiency as if they were moving around. User must be stationary. May only perform once every 2 rounds. Description: User is able to perform this technique upwards, or straight forward towards an opponent or opponents. When the user first learns this technique they are able to shoot at a 5 arrows for only 1 movement. They may only shoot for that single movement. When the user learns the "B" Rank version of this technique the user is able to shoot for 2 movements 5 times per movement. When the user learns the "A" rank version they are able to shoot for 3 movements 5 times per movement. When the user learns the "S" Rank version they are able to shoot for 4 movements 5 times per movement. The user must fire non-stop. If they stop at any time then it simply ends the technique and is unable to perform until the 2nd round. Limit: Must be a Marksman. Must know Fast Aim. Ranged Disarm Rank: "C" [30 TP] Skill: TaiJutsu/Supplementary Effect: User is able to disarm within the distance of half of their proficiency. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: A User must sacrifice a single movement for this technique to work. A disarming technique where the user takes aim at the weapon that the opponent is holding. The user is able to hit the hand with such precision that it makes the opponent drop their weapon. This could be used to stop opponents from performing handseals as well. A person is unable to perform techniques if their hands cannot move, or if they are unable to properly make handseals with their hands. If the user knows Shot on the Run they are able to disarm within 2/3rd of their proficiency. Limit: Must be an Archer, Must know Precise Shot Deflect Ranged Attack Rank: "C" [30 TP] Skill: TaiJutsu/Supplementary Effect: User is able to deflect oncoming weapon projectiles. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: A simple technique in which the user wastes arrows in order to deflect on coming ranged attacks such as kunais, arrows, shurikens and others. This allows the user to show his deadly accuracy and shows what the user is capable of. User is able to Deflect within the distance of half of their proficiency. If the user knows Shot on the Run they are able to disarm within 2/3rd of their proficiency. Limit: Must be an Archer, Must know Ranged Disarm Power Shot Rank: "B" [70 TP] Skill: TaiJutsu/Supplementary Effect: One of the most powerful skills an Archer may have. This technique allows the user to fire an arrow or bolt with greater velocity in which gives it an extra boost of damage to where it is capable of going through certain objects. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: The user is able to shoot their arrow with such precision and strength that it adds more damage. The user is able to perform any arrow technique that deals with power damage as if it was 1 rank higher than it normally would be. A "C" Rank technique would hit as if it was a "B" Rank technique, an "S" Rank technique would hit as if it was an "S" + "D" Rank technique, and an "S" + "D" Rank technique would hit as if it was an "S" + "C" Rank technique. This technique may stack with other techniques that may increase ranking power. Limit: Must be an Archer, Must have Mastered Archery Bullseye Rank: "B" [70 TP] Skill: TaiJutsu/Supplementary Effect: A user's shot or shots become more lethal. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: A Precision shot and not a Power Shot. This shot allows the user to hit vital areas more easily and precisely than normally. A technique in which the user knows the areas that are able to harm an opponent the most. User is able to fire their long ranged weapon and knows where they can cause the most damage. The user is able to perform any arrow technique that deals with power damage as if it was 1 rank higher than it normally would be. A "C" Rank technique would hit as if it was a "B" Rank technique, an "S" Rank technique would hit as if it was an "S" + "D" Rank technique, and an "S" + "D" Rank technique would hit as if it was an "S" + "C" Rank technique. This technique may stack with other techniques that may increase ranking power. Limit: Must be an Archer, Must know Power Shot. Ranged Pin Rank: "C" [20 TP] Skill: TaiJutsu/Supplementary Effect: A technique that allows the user to pin the opponent onto a surface from behind. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: A useful technique that allows the user to pin an opponent within 2 feet away from a tree, wall or other surface that the arrow would stick on. The user is able to pin the opponent’s clothing into what they are shooting. The opponent must rip off his clothing, or break the arrow to become free. Of the user knows Knockback Shot then the user is able to pin an opponent himself onto the wall depending on how well they are able to perform Knockback Shot. Limit: Must be an Archer, Must know Precise Shot Knockback Shot Rank: "C" [20 TP] Skill: TaiJutsu/Supplementary Effect: This technique allows the user to hit the opponents they wish that are standing within thirty meters of his threat range with great power. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: The user is able to launch their projectile with such fierceness that when it hits the opponent it knocks the opponent back into the distance. This technique may be used to knock down other opponents as well or lure other opponents out if the time is needed. Depending on the user's Class level depends on the knock back power of this technique. "D" Class - 5 Meters Knock back "C" Class - 10 Meters Knock back "B" Class - 20 Meters Knock back "A" Class - 35 Meters Knock back "S" Class - 55 Meters Knock back Limit: Must be an Archer, Must know Rapid Shot Knock-up Shot Rank: "C" [20 TP] Skill: TaiJutsu/Supplementary Effect: A technique that launches an opponent upwards instead of straight back. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: This technique allows the user to shoot down against the floor giving a burst effect against the ground in which knocks the opponent upwards to the sky allowing the user to volley an array of arrows into the opponent. Depending on the user's Class level depends on the knock back power of this technique. "D" Class - 5 Meters Knock back "C" Class - 10 Meters Knock back "B" Class - 15 Meters Knock back "A" Class - 20 Meters Knock back "S" Class - 25 Meters Knock back Limit: Must be an Archer, Must know Knockback Shot Defensive Shot Rank: "D", "C", "B", "A", "S" [10+20 TP] Skill: TaiJutsu/Supplementary Effect: A technique in which if the user has his sights set on a target ready to attack, the senses of the Archer is so in tuned with his surroundings the user is unable to be flanked. This means that in order to learn the "C" Rank version they must be "C" Class, if they wish to learn the "B" Rank version they must be "B" Class. Description: A technique where the subconscious mind, where the subconscious body reacts just as they are attacked while flanked or while their back is turn. The body reacts in such a way to where they are capable of withstanding so much. This technique makes it where the Boxer is incapable of being surprised attacked, a sudden second sense kicks in as their body screams out to them yelling at them telling them to move, duck, dodge or anything else within that manner. This works on whenever they are being attacked. This technique however has a major flaw. The user is capable of dodging only whenever the opponent's class is equal or lower to that of the rank of the technique they know. This means that a "D" Class user that knows this technique cannot use this against an opponent that is "C" Class or higher. Limit: Must be an Archer Cover Fire Rank: "C" [30 TP] Skill: TaiJutsu/Supplementary Effect: A cover fire technique that is used to bring opponents at bay for other attacks or diversion. Special: --- Drawback: Technique is not precise and the user is able to shoot only at half their distance. Description: A technique that allows the user to fire at multiple opponents firing randomly to the opponents in order to create a “cover” fire for the user’s allies. This technique allows the user to fire one extra arrow per movement as cover fire. If the user knows Shot on the Run the user is able to shoot at the distance it permits. Special: Drawback: Depending on the user’s class level depends on the capabilities the user has within this technique. Description: A technique where the user is able to aim at opponents while performing the Cover Fire technique. User is able to shoot at that opponent within the full distance proficiency they are able to shoot. When the user learns this technique and is a "D" Class character they are able to aim at 1 opponent. When the user is any class higher than "D" the number of opponents increase by 1. This gives a total of 5 opponents. Limit: Must be an Archer, Must know Cover Fire Sniper‘s Eye Rank: "A" [100 TP] Skill: TaiJutsu/Supplementary Effect: You have a keen eye and know just how to take advantage of an ambush. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: User's Archery attacks are 1 Rank more powerful than normal during ambushes. This means that a "D" Rank technique during an ambush becomes a "C" Rank technique. An "S" Rank technique then becomes an "S" + "D" Rank technique as well. User is able to perform this technique with any other technique that increases the user's power as long as they are not the same in ability. Limit: Must be an Archer, Must have mastered Archery. Used to draw the user close to the opponent. Special: --- Drawback: May use 3 times a day. May perform 1 more each time learned. Passing amount renders the user's legs immobile due to severe pain. Unable to perform again unless gained medical treatment. Must move through an opening. Unable to maneuver around obstructing objects. Can't attack while performing any Shunshin or Variation. Description: User is able to move forward in a straight line along the ground in almost instantaneous untraceable speed while temporarily masking the user's movements within 10 meters. A puff of smoke is occasionally used to disguise the user's movements. It is accomplished by focusing the user's chi along the ankles and foot. User mostly moves just with their ankles and feet. Jutsu takes up no movements. User may only use this Jutsu half of the movements may allow in a single round while rounding down.
