(OOC: this is my first legit rp attempt so constructive criticism is welcomed)
Fuuton: Sakasa Houi no Jutsu (Wind Release: Reverse Direction Technique)
Rank: "D", "C", "B", "A", "S"
Skill: Ninjutsu, Counter Defense
Effect: Creates a great tunnel of wind which reverses the direction of an oncoming attack.
Special: "Hand Seals"
Drawback: Does not effect Taijutsu or Genjutsu.
Description: By performing the correct hand seals, the user will channel chakra along the lengths of both of his or her arms. Then, when an attack is incoming, the user will extend both of their arms and release the swirling tunnel of wind towards the attack. The wind will envelop the attack and then drag it backwards towards the opposite direction. The reversed attack can only travel for five meters for every rank of the technique that the user has, plus an additional ten meters if the user becomes a Wind Master. Requires the user to have the same rank of this technique as the rank of the technique that is being countered.
Limit: Must have the Wind Release.
Thunder claps as a flash of lightning races across the sky revealing JinsokunaShi Kyoto perched in a second-story window, his face is looking up towards the storm with an ecstatic expression as he excitedly jumps from the window sill. He bolted towards a small work desk grabbing a scroll from the center drawer, which was full of neatly organized scrolls of differing variance, and placed it into an empty slot on his tactical vest, which was hanging on the back of the chair in front of the same desk. Continuing towards the door, JinsokunaShi grabs the vest at the last second quickly swinging it around him and jutting his arms through as the door closes behind him.
The front door of the building swings open with a force so hard its hinges pop and the door slams against the opposing wall with a loud bang. JinsokunaShi realizes his excitement and catches the door on the rebound and gently closes it behind him and takes a deep breath.
"Guess I need to relax a little. But I'm in a hurry to find her. Hmmm." JinsokunaShi thinks to himself as looks towards the sky again. Glancing around he notices a shopkeeper looking in his direction, probably from the door banging, and quickly his expression changes from delighted to spiteful as he scoffs and darts off towards the slums of the Rain Village.
JinsokunaShi runs through the streets splashing puddles and dodging villagers until he reaches a dead-end alleyway. The alleyway is about 10feet across and about 10feet long from the opening to the dead-end, which is a wall about 30feet high that appears to be the back of another building. He stops at the opening to the alleyway and slowly begins to walk to the wall. About halfway in he stops and opens the vest pocket where the scroll was contained. The scroll appears to be that containing the teachings of a Wind Release jutsu.
He finds a somewhat sheltered spot from the rain and flings the scroll dramatically, unrolling its entirety in one motion, and lays it gently on the ground in the dry spot. JinsokunaShi begins attempting to read the scroll. Quickly his expression goes from excitement to disappointment gradually as he continues to glance over the scroll.
"Damn it!" He mutters to himself as he realizes that the only thing he can decipher are the hand seals. "I'll just have to improvise. At least I can make-out the seals I need to weave, but the rest is up to me I suppose." He thought as he reverts his eyes back to the only readable part of the scroll for him.
After some time of studying the hand seals needed to preform the jutsu, JinsokunaShi rocks his body up onto his feet from sitting on his knees and stretches. "Time for the hard part I suppose." He says to himself as he begins to walk into the center of the alleyway. He takes position and once again glances up at the sky and smiles just before he begins weaving hand seals. He weaves the hand seals as fast as he can, almost blurringly fast, and shouts: "Fuuton: Sakasa Houi no Jutsu!" as he strongly pushes both arms out in front of him. After holding the pose for a few seconds he realizes that nothing is happening. Dumb founded, he relaxes his stances and glances back up into the sky and closes his eyes and lets the now increased rainfall pour onto his face and run down his cheeks and neck to his wetsuit.
After a few moments of letting the rain rejuvenate him, JinsokunaShi begins to gather chakra. Molding and focusing it, growing it in power. Suddenly his eyes open and he begins weaving the hand seals once more, again almost a blur, and shouts again. "Fuuton: Sakasa Houi no Jutsu!" He yells and he once again thrust his arms in front of him. At this moment he feels a tingle in his arms and he notices an empty saki bottle slightly spinning in front of him as if in response to the justu. "I need to find a way to focus more chakra into my arms. That seems to be the key to it. But how?" He discouragingly asks himself.
Having determining that he didn't possess the necessary chakra control, JinsokunaShi decided that he could go no further until he had found a way to obtain the chakra control he needed. Feeling like he was certain this is what he needed to practice and judging by the rain patterns he decided to call it a day before the major part of the storm hit. He lets out and exhausted sigh and rises to his feet, dragging them as he made his way back to the scroll that was still laid out off to the side. He knelt down and mildly slapped the scroll so it would roll up and returned it to his vest pocket and returned home to search for the techniques he needed to continue learning the jutsu.
Upon returning home, JinsokunaShi slowly unzipped he soaked tac-vest and hung it on the back of the chair. The vest was dripping from the rain and slowly forming a puddle but he didn't seem to mind. He had already made his way back to the window sill to stare into the sky again.
"How am I ever going to catch up to her?" he asked himself inside the hollows of his mind where the words echoed around, almost as if there were nothing but that thought inside of his head to begin with. His expression turned from hopeless to a half-cocked sneer. "I will control the power of the storms as well. I mustn't be held back by such basic of ninja techniques!" He jumped from the window and grabbed his vest with force as if snatching it from the chair, almost knocking it over but the seat portion caught the table top of the desk with a bang and returned to the floor, and proudly marched out of the building once again.
After some time he returned to the alley where he had first attempted the jutsu and began to look around. Among the few trash cans and empty boxes piled in the alley he spots the empty sake bottle. "There it is." he exclaimed as he ambitiously began walking toward the bottle.
"Hey, you! What are you doing in a place like this?" Spoke a voice from the entrance to the alley. Shocked to have not sensed a presence, JinsokunaShi slightly jumped almost dropping the saki bottle, fumbling it in his hands for a few seconds, before turning his head over his shoulder to identify the voice. He stood in a relieved sense to find that it was a small child about 7years of age.
"That's why I couldn't sense him. He's just a child." JinsokunaShi thought to himself as he calmly walked towards the kid. "I'm learning a special jutsu, kid. Wanna help out?" he said to the kid.
"You mean I can really help a real life Rain Ninja with training?! My friends aren't gonna believe this!" The boy ran as fast as he could toward JinsokunaShi, almost tripping over a box that had been thrown randomly into the alley. "What can I do to help, mister?" He asked while looking up at JinsokunaShi with excitement.
"You see this saki bottle? I want you to stand there and throw it as hard as you can at me." JinsokunaShi explained while raising his hand and pointing towards a spot about 3 ft in from the opening of the alleyway. "Don't worry about hurting me. I'll be okay." he mentioned as he turned to walk towards the dead-end of the alley way. Upon arriving at the wall he stood facing it for a second and then turned saying "whenever you're ready".
The kid reluctantly drew the saki bottle over his shoulder and took aim at JinsokunaShi. At this same time JinsokunaShi looked into the storm ridden sky again, closed his eyes and began to gather chakra in his arms. He could feel the power flowing up his spine from his core into his arms causing them to almost numb. "This...this chakra....." he mentioned before opening his eyes to see to saki bottle flying towards his face at an alarming rate.
"Fuuton: Sakasa Houi no Jutsu!" The words boomed through the alleyway as JinsokunaShi quickly wove a few quick hand seals, thrust his arms forward and released his chakra. Visible cone of air spiraled around his arms from the elbow area and bursted forth in a gale that caught the saki bottle. The bottle seemed to hover in air momentarily before be violently tossed over the kids head smashing into a thousand pieces of sparkling glints on a nearby building behind the kid.
The kid, who was now seemingly scared stiff stood still with a spooked look on his face. "That......was.......AWESOME!" he yelled down the alley and he sprinted towards JinsokunaShi. "I can't wait 'til I become a ninja too." The kid mentioned to JinsokunaShi before saying that he had to go tell his friends about the incident. "One more thing though mister. Why are you always looking into the sky at the thunderstorms?" he inquired of JinsokunaShi as he turned his head away from looking into Jinso's eyes, as if expecting to be scolded for asking.
JinsokunaShi knelt down and using his bent pointer finger to raise the kids head back to looking him in the eyes. "Because of a girl." Jinso whispered to the boy and returned to his feet walking past the kid towards his home, leaving the kid baffled in the alleyway.
