I wasn't quite used to fighting with my eyes closed. The admittance of such a thing was the first step in overcoming the obstacle of having to keep my eyes closed when attempting to use the Sensor's prowess against my new found opponent. My right foot lifted as my head tilted slightly to the left; I was going to attempt to use all of my senses, combined with the Mind's Eye, to seek out and attack Toki. But with little help from outside source, I simply resolved to planting that same foot along the earth beneath me. Little sound was made as my left hand lifted, its digits gliding along the handle of my blade. "Do you see me yet!?" I heard. The exclamation seemed to come from all over. A small sense of wariness washed over me as I turned, though not with enough frantic speed to satisfy the AnBu's hopes of disturbing my concentration.
I sought him out, the faint glimmer of an advanced chakra system beginning to makes its way to the surface of my being. I took deep breaths, even my intake of oxygen too loud for me to sacrifice and allow him quarter. Strangely enough, it was allowing me to notice my lack of comprehension - I was, instead, relying on my instinct. While this might have worked with my eyes open, I was severely handicapped. Suddenly, before I could rectify such a situation, I could hear the sound of the winds being compromised. Toki had apparently crafted a Ninjutsu with which to strike me, sending it at me before I could get my true bearings. A wise tactic, no doubt one of the many reasons he was AnBu.
I had to act quickly. My eyes snapped open for the time being as I watched a multitude of trees being torn apart from at least ten meters off. A forceful push off of my left leg allowed me to vault parallel to the ground in a sideways jump. For yards I seemed to glide, extremities pushing to my front so that I might be able to catch myself. My palms dug into the gaia as I tucked my body into a roll, still very much attempting to gain peace so that I could reactive the Sensor's prowess within. I managed to stand to full height before looking about. Toki's speed was quite impressive, but nothing that I wouldn't have been able to handle if I had had the use of my Sharingan.
Perhaps this was a gap in my abilities. Figuring that it could only grow better with time, I gave no attention to his soft laughter. "A close one, Anotsu. Let's try again, but with something different in mind.." Toki muttered, loud enough for me to hear him but low enough so that I couldn't train myself to the general location of the disturbance of vocal proportion. My eyelids fluttered until my eyes closed again. This time, I would at least hold something with which to defend myself. Nimble digits curled around the handle of the Apashi sword. I eased it out of its scabbard as my Mind's Eye activated once more. No handseals required, it immediately activated and went off like a radar searching for a target.
I had to change my tactics, Toki's abilities relying on striking from multiple directions within different time frames. The intervals were far too much for my ordinary sense to take place, let alone for my Sharingan to have aided me. In short, he'd crippled me considerably. He simply continued his short bursts of laughter, most likely amazed at how composed and sound I was in light of him outrunning my senses. Soon, however, I would turn the tables on him and give him the run that he was indirectly looking for. I simply needed to pinpoint him, and he would be in for a trick up my own sleeve.
