Riza Morris. Medic, engineer, artist, anthropologist...ninja. And yet for a ninja, whose job description very much included danger and combat, she was lacking in the ability to defeat her foes. This ordinarily would not mean much, since she was fast enough to avoid most conflict, but only too recently she'd found her speed and her clay explosives to be...insufficient. She needed something, anything to do in a grapple scenario. But all she could do up close was give aid. Though a complaint only because of her profession, her hands were only useful for healing, not killing.
...Unless...Yes, perhaps she was on to something. She could take the concept of her healing hands, perhaps, and reverse it. There was nobody here with her in her flat, as she lived alone, and she couldn't be bothered to leave to find a guinea pig wandering the streets...Yes. Once again, for the sake of progress, Riza would be using herself as a test subject. Her present outfit left one thigh open to the air, so that would be the target.
In her minds eye, she formed the six hand seals she used to shape her chakra into the restorative energies of the Healing Hands, with the intent of recovery, and observed as the green aura encased her left hand. Good first step. Next, she added onto this another six seals. The same ones, in fact, but in reverse order. This would bring the total to twelve. Twelve seals, twice as many as usual. Twice as muck chakra being summoned from her core, twisted and flexed around her hand in undulating waves.
Slowly, the green tint shimmering around her palm bled away, leaving only a vague presence. Intention. She had to desire damage, deterioration, dissolution. Yes. Killing intent, to fuel the Killing Hands. The aura slowly recolored to a pale sort of purple, almost not present. To be expected, from her first attempt. She wasn't expecting mastery yet. But she would attain it, make no mistake. She placed her hand upon the bare flesh of her leg. It worked, though only just. The tiniest of twinges of pain, and upon ending the technique to inspect her work, it was as though she had merely fallen and gotten a small scrape. Tiny droplets of blood shone in places, but it could barely be considered an injury.
To be on the safe side, she healed the 'wound' closed, before a secondary attempt. This time, she treated her own body mentally as that of someone else. An enemy, someone to be destroyed, melted down. Her hand gleamed bright purple, merely the slightest moment's flash, before settling on a slightly darker though still pale hue compared to before. She cried out with the pain as her own flesh dissolved under her touch. This was stupid, and self destructive. But it was working. Blood began to flow, but before it could stain her clothes or floor she halted the technique and shifted back to healing.
A small success, brief though it was. Perhaps, even, a sufficient one?
