Appearance,
A tad on the tall and slender side, but he isn’t exactly towering either. His body is well toned from his general training just to keep up as a ninja, but his muscles are from spectacular because taijutsu is far from a specialty of his. Naturally a bit pale thanks to his genetic relationship to the Kitateha clan, the light tan that he does have was quite difficult to obtain. Years ago he received a tattoo from his clan as well, the kanji for ‘butterfly’ on the left side of his back, about half way between his shoulder and neck in black ink.
Ear length golden blonde hair sits atop his head, naturally straight and well combed and taken care of. And generally it’s nice and soft as well, even carries a nice clean scent thanks to him washing regularly. His brows hold a similar golden color, even if they’re a couple of shades darker, and they’re just above a pair of vibrant blue eyes. The color is a deep blue, one that resembles the ocean more than the sky, a darker shade. And the face they lay in is quite handsome indeed, free of any blemishes with a strong jaw line and defined features.
Most of the time Kiyoshi wears a white and blue kimono around, and it isn’t anything too fancy or expensive. His usual attire consists of blue shorts, a plain white cotton and soft robe, and then the decorative part of his kimono on top. The outermost piece of his attire is blue on the shoulders, and then it transitions into white just a few inches down with a dotted pattern. For about half a foot there’s a solid white stripe, and then there’s a transition back into the blue with another dotted pattern, and from there down the rest of it is solid blue. He generally wears standard sandals, and the blue shorts are for just in case his robe unties around his waist and comes undone. (visual reference)
After getting the Sousekichi ritual of the Kitateha clan, he has fifteen flowers along his arms, eight on his right arm and seven on his left. They’re blue petunias, a light blue on the edge of the petals, which grows darker the closer they get to the center. And they’re hidden by the loose sleeves of his kimono most of the time, somewhat protected there as well. (visual reference)
Thanks to the Otogibanashi Bodi ritual, the blonde also has short black antennae atop his head. They're no more than four inches in length, quite thin as well. The man's body doesn't seem to be particularly iridescent after it was altered, but caught in certain lights there is a sheen to his skin. He also had to create holes in the backs of his clothing for his large, blue butterfly wings to fit through. They're almost as tall as his own body and the pattern of the wings matches his kimono, having to be quite large to lift him. (visual reference)

Personality,
Honestly, Kiyoshi hates how he is by nature; he always tries to be something different. Having been brought up within a Kitateha estate, he was taught the difference between right and wrong when he was young, and he hates the parts of himself that he thinks are ‘wrong’. By nature he wasn’t quite as gentle and reserved as most of his clan, there’s a darker side of him that he tries to put under a guise to this day. There’s a part of him that’s a sadist, who loves to see pain inflicted on others and loves toying with other people.
But that isn’t how people know him; he has been able to learn how to act ‘properly’ very well, having had years of practicing being normal. On the outside he seems to be very kind and compassionate, a mask that he has managed to craft for himself. He’s very patient and certainly hasn’t minded the wait, having created a happy and almost aloof demeanor for himself. It’s rare that his serious and calculating mind shows through, normally only showing its face when something unexpected happens, something that he’s not prepared for.
Even though he holds a strong sense of right and wrong from his time growing up with the Kitateha, he’s still well aware that he has urges to do ‘wrong’ things and hates himself for it. His thoughts can be a bit self-destructive at times, but for the most part he acts reserved and respectful towards others. He tells people that he began to specialize in genjutsu because he didn’t like physically harming others, even though it’s truly because he enjoys torturing their minds. Also, he does have a temper that’s common to the males of his clan, but it’s just another thing that he tries to hide.

History,
Born and raised within the confines of a Kitateha estate, the clan has had some incredible influences on Kiyoshi. He had been brought up by the same gentle caretakers who looked after the fragile butterflies that their clan is known for. They did a good job teaching him right and wrong, and they taught him to be honorable as well. His youth was quite enjoyable really; for the most part the clan members at the estate in the Land of Hot Springs were very caring and kind. It became his goal to mirror them, to become as dignified as the clan members he looked up to.
It was when he was around twelve years old when he really started thinking that something was wrong with him. He was traveling to a nearby town when he heard someone calling out for help, and he hid in the tree line as he sneaked closer to the source of the sound. He found what it was soon enough, someone who had fallen into a hole with spikes at the bottom that a bandit must have sat up. They didn’t spot him though, and he sat down and leaned up against a tree as he just… Listened. At first he had been panicking, wondering what he should do, but eventually he was content with just sitting there.
Kiyoshi found out that day that he actually liked it when other were in pain, he sat there and listened to the man’s pleas for about an hour before the poor victim finally went silent. They were dead; at least that was what he guessed from looking down at them from afar. As he made his way home he couldn’t help but think about how wrong it was of him to just not do anything, and he was actually afraid of the part of him who had enjoyed listening to that poor person in pain struggling for life. It was something that he still has never told anyone, not wanting any to know that there’s a secret side to him, one that’s a complete sadist.
Over the years he discovered more things that made him ‘weird’ within the clan, the main one being that he wasn’t attracted to women, and didn’t want to find one to wed and protect for the rest of his life as other males of his clan did. Oh no, instead he always found his gaze traveling over to other males instead, which again was something he thought was wrong because it broke the tradition that he had grown up with. Just a year after that event he underwent the ritual so common in his clan, an extremely painful one that consisted of implanting fifteen seeds within his arms, and after the wound healed he learned how to grow beautiful blue flowers and control the butterflies attracted to the nectar.
The only real thing that had been tying him down to the estate was his mother while he was a teenager, a large part of him afraid of what he was truly like and just wanting to get away from it all. When he was sixteen his mother ended up getting assassinated, her past work as an assassin herself having caught up with her. After her death he parted with the small community of his clan members, that place holding far too many bad memories. Sure there was also the thought of vengeance on his mind, but it wasn’t the only reason he left. He just wanted to escape from all of it.
Eventually he ended up stumbling across Otogakure after about a year later, and after some questioning from ANBU to make sure he wasn’t a spy, he just never left. His chakra control from practicing with his clan was astounding and he was offered a shot at becoming a shinobi there, and after training quite a bit to learn the standard academy techniques he was given a job as a Genin. The loyalty that he once held for his clan easily transferred to the village itself, and he became quite dedicated to protecting his new home, and helping it grow stronger.
