The blade was soft iron and unsharpened because the edges were used to smash plaster and wood, to dig holes and to pry. Normally only the tip would have been sharpened. The uses to which a kunai was put would have destroyed any heat-treated and sharpened tool like a knife. There could be multiple kinds of kunais such as handless ones, or even double sided kunais as long as they are within the same length.

Hira-Shuriken (Overview)

Effect: Is a concealed weapon that is generally for throwing, and sometimes stabbing or slashing.
Special: ---
Drawback: ---
Description: Hira-shuriken is constructed from thin, flat plates of metal derived from a variety of sources including hishi-gane (coins), and kugi-nuki (carpentry tools), and generally resemble popular conceptions of shuriken. In modern popular culture, these are called "throwing stars" or "ninja stars". They often have a hole in the center and possess a fairly thin blade sharpened only at the tip. The holes derive from their source in items that had holes - old coins, washers, and nail-removing tools. This proved convenient for the shuriken user, as well, as the weapons could be strung on a string or dowel in the belt for transport, and the hole also had aerodynamic and weighting effects that aided the flight of the blade after it was thrown. There is a wide variety of forms of hira-shuriken and they are now usually identified by the number of points the blades possess.
Limit: These types of items may be capable of being bought inside any Weapon Shop.
Cost: 1,500 Ryo per Slot, or 100 Ryo Each.

Character Depth
Personality:
- Compassionate
Nishito will always look out for you when you're down. There is a spot down in his heart for those who are friends, and are close to him. He will go out of his way to help up a teammate, whether physically, or emotionally. Routinely, he will often care for the living things around him. He feeds begging street dogs, buys the poor kid a toy that he has been gazing at, water the dilapidated roadside flowers that others pass by. No living thing that he doesn't see for a reason not to live anymore will escape his care. Some people consider this his weakness, but he and his friends consider this his strength.
- Prefers to do things himself
Nishito can also be a bit too independent. When he is tasked with something for him to do, he will go out of his way to achieve and go beyond what is asked of him. This is the trait that is shown the most in his shinobi work. He can also begin to become slightly irritable if someone is to get in his way of achieving a goal. While this may put Nishito on some people's bad side, but this helps him do his job efficiently.
- Talkative, Sociable
Loving to talk and connect to others around him is what Nishito is known for. Whether it be on the street, at a restaurant, or traveling, Nishito will always come up with a way to strike up a conversation. Whether old or young, poor or rich, he will find a way to connect with you, whether you want it or not. While this may irritate others on occasion, nishito won't feel regret for attempting; to him, he needs to at least try to become friends. Nishito will always talk and joke when he has friends around him, and people love him for it.
Appearance:
Nishito is a slightly built boy, which came from his farming past. He stands slightly tall for his age at 5 feet and 9 inches. His height comes mostly from his long legs, which are slightly disproportionate to his slightly short torso. His long, slim-toned arms glide to his rough, calloused hands, as a result from farming work.
His face is slightly rounded, with the evidence of farm work showing on his tanned skin. His long, brown hair is pulled back into a ponytail, that is held with a black hair tie, that drops down to the top of his shoulder blades. His shinobi headband is worn straight across the forehead, with the tail of the band tied in a knot which is held below the ponytail. He has a slightly bigger nose than usual, but small enough to look normal. His lips are thin, and pulled back to an almost-smile in neutral position. His eyes are rounded, and have a bright look when he smiles. His chin protrudes softly from his face, into a slightly set position.
His chest is slightly toned underneath his shirt. The skin is tanned from the hard work in the sun. The torso itself is a lot shorter than what a normal person's would be. His height mostly comes from the long, slightly toned legs. His pectoral muscles are visible in neutral position, but not built. His abs are visible if he flexes, but otherwise, he has a flat stomach.
He wears tan Sand Village cargo shorts that lay slightly below his knees. There is a rip in the fabric on the front right pocket, which keeps it from holding anything important. For a top, he wears his tan Sand Village shinobi tactical vest with the front zipper zipped down a quarter way, exposing his chest underneath. Underneath his vest, he wears a white t-shirt that has a large rip that goes down to his navel. The threads on the rip have been mended so they wouldn't rip any further. The sleeves of the T-shirt stop at the edge of his shoulder guards that are included with the tactical vest. The handle of his katana protrudes above his right shoulder, for access with his right hand. His katana lays against his back vertically, inside a holder slot on the back of his tactical vest.
Background:
Nishito grew up on a family rice farm. He spent his childhood days working out in the mosquito infested rice paddies. Everyday, on the way to the fields, he would see the other kids in the village walk to the Ninja Academy. He would always envy them, until one day when he became fed up with the jealousy. One night, around the dinner table, Nishito asked permission to able to enroll in the village's Ninja academy, and to follow the life of a shinobi, serving his village. He was promptly denied by both parents, and sent back to the fields.
A few weeks later, his father came out to the fields to bring him inside one of the rice barns. He handed Nishito his old longsword that was passed down from his family. Everyday after, his father, in secret from his mother, taught young Nishito the basics of Taijutsu and sword combat. Once he became proficient enough in what his father could teach him, his father secretly enrolled him in the Ninja academy. Nishito proceeded to excel in the Taijutsu and Ninjutsu classes, and made his fair share of friends. It became more apparent to Nishito that the shinobi way of life was more suitable to him than farming, and grew a liking to it. A few months later, his mother began to notice the bruises on Nishito's arms that couldn't be hidden or explained despite Nishito's and his father's best efforts to hide his schooling from her. Becoming suspicious, his mother went out into the village to investigate. Discovering him in the training fields at the Ninja academy, she went home angry to his father. After many conflicts between the two, his mother gave into allowing Nishito become a shinobi for a little while, as long as the farming got done.
Nishito then began to continue his schooling in the academy, continuing his learning in basic ninjutsu to accompany his knowledge of Taijutsu. After school everyday, Nishito would come home to his proud father. His mother would become more and more distant from him and his father, and eventually divorced and disappeared. After Nishito graduated from the academy and enlisted in the village's main force shinobi, his father retired from the family farm to live off of the pension that he has saved up. But unfortunately, Nishito had never seen his mother since the early days of the academy.
