Akatome prides himself on his self-proclaimed natural attractiveness and due to this cockiness he rarely finds anyone who agrees with him. The style that he bears is somewhat typical among shinobi of his age, but not without some distinct differences that set him apart from the rest. Akatome stands at a height common for boys just out of their teens, perhaps even a bit taller. His skin is tan, like his brothers and sisters, and practically flawless; an uncanny reality, considering his knack for getting into fights. His hair, however, is what really sets him apart from his colleagues; it's about as red as the noble blood that flows through his veins. He's very keen about keeping it in the style of a mohawk; the only style that he believe properly channels his innermost soul.
As for clothing, he isn't too picky. On most days he'll just wear the standard konoha shinobi uniform which consists of either a dark gray or black jumpsuit and a forest-green tactical vest. On off days, however, he could almost pass for an ordinary young man; any one of many wrinkled, often torn tee shirts featuring symbols from bands or movies; jet-black, almost skin-tight jeans; a battered, old pair of combat boots; a wide variety of jewelry and trinkets acquired over the years, necklaces, rings, etc. He's got a number of holes in his ears, so often times they'll be loaded with whatever fits. Rather than having it worn in the traditional spot on the forehead, Akatome usually wears his headband on his neck, or sometimes on his arm.
Physically, and aside from any aesthetic eccentricities, Akatome is what you'd expect for someone in his age group and of his profession. As a shinobi, physical fitness is essential; one has to be strong enough to hold his or her own in battle as well as agile enough to maneuver and parry on a whim. However, excessive strength and muscular bulkiness, while advantageous in their own right, aren't what one wants to have as a shinobi. This is part of the dogma that Akatome believes in and, as such, lives by. He's physically muscular and toned, but he bears little to no bulk. He stays lean by doing a lot of cardio and maintains his strength by running with arm and leg weights. His body is continuously sculpted to be ideal for his profession and lifestyle.

PRIDEFUL
Perhaps more than anything else, Akatome is a prideful son of a bitch. He wears every accomplishment he's ever made on his sleeve, regardless of how insignificant and unimportant they might be. Many find this off-putting or even annoying, which negatively affects how well Akatome works with others. He learned from a very young age to be proud of the things he accomplished, whatever they might be, because he was relentlessly shunned and looked down upon by his older clansmen. Having accomplishments and rubbing them in their faces was his way of getting back at them.
MORALISTIC
Believe it or not, there is something other than fighting and gloating going on in Akatome's head. His day-to-day life is lived by a sort of code or dogma. The fact that he has morals seems to go unnoticed by nearly everyone aside from the few that actually get to know him. He holds strongly to this unseen book of morals and allows it to guide him and govern his life. Often times his personal code conflicts with his duties as a shinobi or member of ANBU and he's had more than his fair share of lectures with the Hokage about screwing missions up due to his dogmatic behavior.
IMPULSIVE
All it takes is a spark to start a fire, and it takes less than that to provoke Akatome. He's got quite an extensive record of getting into altercations with villagers and even his fellow shinobi. In fact, he's banned from most popular gathering spots in the village as well as a few in other lands. On missions, his impulsive tendencies often create hazardous work environments for his teammates and, as such, is usually only sent on solo missions. His reputation extends beyond his colleagues and the citizens of Konoha; many foreign shinobi nations know to keep an eye out for a rowdy, mohawked shinobi from Konoha and are typically rude to him should an encounter occur.
S T O R Y L I N E --
An outcast, from day one. Literally. People are supposed to be clean at birth; one is equal with all other newborns. For Akatome, this was not the case. Born with the powerful blood of an Airontoku flowing through his veins, he already had some set expectations to live up to. However, half of his blood was that of a being outside of the clan - that of a normal human being. Other idealisms were also set because of this, most of which were unfavorable. He was labelled a mut. The filthy child of an Airontoku mother and a normal father, Akatome Tadayasei.
Kill him. Some thought that such a being shouldn't be allowed to live within the walls of the Iron Citadel. Some willed to banish him and her family, immediately. Some begged to differ. Why? Uncanny Resemblance. Hair as red as Phoenix Feathers, eyes the color of the sun itself, birthmarks of the celebrated hero Airontoku Akahebi. Some believed this child to be the reincarnation of a dead warrior, despite the fact that his blood wasn't pure. Regardless, the elders agreed. His father was banished to his homeland, in Hi no Kuni, and Akatome remained with his mother in the Iron Citadel.
Akatome grew up the way that most of her kin did, including having the cursed crest imprinted on him. He hated life within the Citadel. He had very few friends - real friends, anyway. He had plenty of enemies, those who hated her for her blood. He also had plenty of fans, those who adored him for her resemblance to an age-old hero. He hated both groups of these people. As a young boy, he had quite a reputation for getting into fights with his peers; he was exceptionally skilled in the clans jutsu, and even more skilled at fist-fighting.
Despite his subtle enjoyment of the thrills involved with fighting, Akatome grew tired of the constant brawls. He wanted to leave the Citadel, to stay with her father for a while. It was no easy task, but eventually he and her mother were able to convince the elders to allow him to leave, so long as he returned to the Citadel every six months. So he left his mother and his home behind, to stay with his father in Konohagakure no Sato.
Life in Konoha was interesting, initially. People there knew not of his past, aside from what he told them, and they treated him as if he were equal. It was nice. He and his father did try to get along; it was awkward, given that they hadn't seen each other about ten years. He was a shinobi medic, so he was in the hospital a lot. Akatome was fascinated by this, and yearned to become a shinobi as well. He enrolled soon after, and became a shinobi. He told her mother about her endeavors when she came to visit the Citadel, though she kept these things from the rest of the clan. In time, he moved up through the shinobi ranks, gaining recognition from the Hokage and the village itself.
