Chiyu's hair used to be dark brown, but continued exposure to water caused the colors to fade. It now rests at a faded brown, almost copper. In bright light, it even looks red. Her eyes are colored with a minty jade hue. Her skin has been exposed to a fair amount of sunlight, but all that damage has since been healed away thanks to Chiyu's medical capabilities.
Although pirates are known for being dirty, Chiyu makes sure to clean herself up whenever she can. Unfortunately, grime builds up during long voyages, and certain odors can't be erased without a decent bar of soap. When her feet are planted on solid earth, she is as clean as she is filthy rich. In a strange way, those things balance themselves out. How Chiyu presents herself on land is always different from how she is presented at sea.
Chiyu likes to dress in thin fabrics that hang loosely from her torso. That way, it blocks the sun, without needlessly heating her up. She prefers to contrast pastel summer colors with black and white patterns. She occasionally strays towards garments of a jester or a bard. However, her status as a pirate is always assured by the presence of a permanent black hat. In order to better anchor her headgear down, she likes to wear a bandanna right over her hair for hats get a better grip.
Most of Chiyu's strength comes from the realm of chakra, so her body is slim in comparison to the amount of destructive damage she is able to accomplish. Her affinity for chakra also provides a protection from the elements, which leaves her skin almost without a single blemish. On her right cheek, just under her eye, there is a cut where a poisonous dagger had managed to poke into. It left a mark that refused to fade, which Chiyu often covers with stickers or cosmetics.
Chiyu's clothing is formed from countless smaller layers. Her hat and bandanna cover her waist-length hair. Her likes to wear a small vest over a puffy white blouse. She is often seen wearing shorts, with a pair of tights beneath, which occasionally contain large striped patterns. Boots cover her feet most of the time, due to the likelihood her her sea voyages. On pleasant days, she adds some decorative ruffles for kicks.
