Going to Rain! [Travel/Open]

It had been awhile since Kaius had been to the rain country, in fact more than awhile. He hadn't even left the Land of Wind since he was a child. Still wearing his usual casual clothes and his butt bag attached to his hip he made his way over to the rendezvous point that they had all agreed upon. Strangely enough, however, when he got there he couldn't see anybody in sight. Had he arrived early? No, that wasn't possible. By this time of day if anything he should've been late.

After thinking it through the only possible options Kai could think of is that they had either went ahead without him since he was so late, or that the mission had been canceled.

He hoped for the first option, and of course that would be the reason why he decided to put his faith in it too. He got out his compass and map and plotted out the most likely direction they would have went to get to the Land of Rain. It took him awhile since it had been ages since he had called upon the assistance of a map, but he managed to mark a general route on his map. He also marked the location of Sunagakure on his map too so that he wouldn't get lost.

It was a rough marking, but since Kai was familiar with the Land of Wind it should serve it's purpose.

He stood up and began to navigate the map, traversing through the sands of the country. It was scorching hot as always but Kai had lived in the desert country for so long that it did not bother him in the slightest.

A couple miles in Kai began to doubt himself, surely they wouldn't have gone this far without him? Maybe they were playing some sort of prank on the shinobi. He hated being pranked, despite loving to prank people himself. He mumbled to himself, remotely ticked off at his Kazekage and the group of shinobi.

Random small insults with no significant meaning.

On his journey he encountered many other points in which they could have rested at. So he decided to check inside these ruins, the small but busy villages, even the half buried villages.

But to his dismay he found nobody.

It was too late to turn back to Sunagakure now, Kai figured, so he continued on his journey to the Land of Rain. Perhaps he would meet them there?

He would be arriving at the border soon anyway.

The Land of Rain, it brought back many memories for Kaius as he walked along the path across the border. It was easy to tell where the border was because the amount of sand dunes decreased to none, and not too far off a barren bit of land grew a few trees. How long had it been since Kai had seen trees? And of course... not the dead kind.

As he took that step off of the sand on to the dry dirt he knew that he had just crossed the border in to the Land of Rain. It wasn't the first time he had crossed the border either, but this time he wasn't a wondering child anymore. This time he crossed the border as an adventurer. It was exciting to be in the Land of Rain again.

It had been many years since he had last been here, it made him wonder how much the country had changed. From the outward appearance the land looked the same, although it wasn't raining where he was despite it raining a lot of the time in the country.

Kai could still feel the scorching heat from the desert though. He wasn't far enough in the country to experience rain yet, he figured.

Through the desert and in to the forest. Actually, the number of trees and other greenery was too low to really call it a forest yet. If Kai was right then his team would've went through the woodland in order to reach the path somewhat a ways through the trees. He didn't know exactly how far, but he was certain that there was a path somewhere around here.

Although he couldn't tell you why, a combination of memories and nostalgia perhaps?

If his 'instinct' served him well then if he followed that path he would eventually reach a small village. He made quite a few enemies and allies in that village as a child. It was most likely, however, that nobody would notice him all grown up.

At least he hoped so.

He continued walking until he reached the path that he had in mind, then followed it according to how he remembered it.
