Sense Motive
Rank: "E"
Skill: 36-50! [Average]
Effect: User is skilled at detecting falsehoods and true intentions.
Special: ---
Drawback: ---
Description: A successful check lets the user avoid from being bluffed or lied to (see the Acting Skill). The user can also use this skill to determine when "something is up" (that is, something odd is going on) or access someone's trustworthiness.
* Hunch: This use of the skill involves making a gut assessment of the social situation. The user can get the feeling from another's behavior that something is wrong, such as when they are talking to an imposter. Alternatively, the user can get the feeling that someone is trustworthy. Very Difficult Difficulty.
* Sense Enchantment: User can tell that someone's behavior is being influenced by an Enchantment effect even if that person is not aware of it. The usual check is Very Difficult, but if the target is dominated, the check is Difficult because of the limited range of the target's activities.
* Discern Secret Message: The user may use Sense Motive to detect a hidden message transmitted by Acting. In this case the Check is opposed by the Acting check. For each piece of information relating to the message the user is missing takes a -10 penalty to the check. If the success is by 20 or less, the user knows that something hidden is being communicated, but cannot learn anything specific. If the check is beaten by 25 or more, the user intercepts and understands the message. If the check is failed by 20 or less, the user does not detect anything. If the fail is by 25 or more, they might infer false information.
Cannot roll multiple times except for each Acting check made against the user. Each time learned user gets 1 die roll to increase the skill.

Blinking in what might be shock or just confusing, Hiroshi looked at Muu as if he'd just ate a bogie. "How... why on earth would you think thats true? Explain yourself Ice Brain..", Hiroshi asked, skeptical.
Muu turned his lazy looking eyes down to the counter top then slowly he looked straight ahead at nothing in perticualer as he explained his reasoning, or at least the reasoning that lead him to his assumption of truth.
"Well, umm, I guess its in how you explained it that time. You've always been one to exaggerate but the way you told that part of the story, like you were really wow'd or something, it showed a little. So you're either an incredible actor or it had to have been genuine astonishment you were showing me."
Muu looked back at him with the sideways sleepy glance, "So, is it true or not already? Did Daichi really use such a powerful technique?"
Hirosihi looked as if he were struggling to keep up mentally, one could just see the wheels turning in his head as he considered Muu's deduction, before he finally nodded. "Well Ice brain I think you're starting to get some what good at this. Yea, its true, he really did it the big show off. Man, I need to work on my cool demeanor some I guess."
A small smile tugged the corner of Muu's mouth up, satisfied with the conclusion of his correct assumption. He wanted to think he was getting good at guessing, but really, he wasn't guessing at all. he had deciphered the truth from clues he noticed, that was kinda cool. Not only being able to do it but knowing the difference between figuring out the truth rather then guessing it. It gave him a war, fulfilling feeling.Color Legend
