'Relax, this blade is not as heavy as Tessaiga. It's about finesse.' Finesse, that was not the highest on her list of skills. She would have to work on it though. She let her shoulders relax as she prepared to attempt the two handed swing once more. She did not throw all of her muscles into it this time, her body weight wasn't quite necessary to perform the swing. The sword being lighter made a world of difference. The blade sliced cleanly through the air. She was doing well, if she kept this up she knew she would be able to unlock the true secrets of the blade.
She learned the cuts but her speed with the blade still left something to be desired. After a deep breath she would take up the blade once more. Her hand wrapped firmly around the hilt and she began a pattern dance with the blade. Each motion moved fluidly into the next. A step and stab was followed by a sweep of the legs and arms. She followed the pattern, letting crescent moon sweeps switch into lunging steps where the blade stabbed forwards into open air. She moved faster and faster with each step. Her control over the blade was increasing, she could feel it within her bones just as she could feel Marcus's silent approval.
She continued with the pattern dance. She continued to speed through the pattern. She stepped forwards quickly as she raised the blade over her head and chopped downwards in a strike intended to cleave a person's skull. Setting her feet more properly she would reverse the cut, striking upwards from below. Another spin and she allowed the blade to follow a horizontal cut. Finally she came to a rest. She had certainly increased her speed and strength with the blade, having practiced with it so much. Yet at the same time she had barely learned anything of the blade. She had so much left to do.
