Rank: "E"
Skill: Skill
Effect: A person versed in the art of disguise can alter his appearance to be unrecognizable- even to his own mother.
Special: ---
Drawback: ---
Description: A user may choose to appear as the opposite sex, a larger person or possibly even a smaller person. There are, of course, common sense limits to this skill. A balding, fat, middle-aged male innkeeper is going to have one hell of a time disguising himself as a voluptuous female prostitute. In general, the following limitations apply: Height: +/- 25% of actual height; Weight: +/- 50% of actual weight; Sex: Male or Female; Hair: Any Color; Eyes: Any Color; Complexion: Any Color; Facial Features: Highly mutable
Obviously, the ability to speak the language of the person you impersonate is not granted. The character may need to purchase clothes or materials depending on his disguise. Look in Task Skills thread found in the Skills and Traits Index for more information. Each time learned user gets 1 die roll to increase the skill.

There was only 1 costume shop in the entirety of Otogakure and it belonged to a friend of the troup I used to know, and thus a friend of mine, Yondaime Kokuro. She was a nice lady that knew far more about theatre than I and had a revered knowledge of costumes, histories, and plausible characters. It was to her I went after I left the shopping district of the city. She greeted me with surprise and love, which I retaliated with kind words. She was one of the only civilians in Otogakure that knew Hokami was a role. So to her, I was Shouta.
"What brings you here today, my love?" she said in her aged voice.
"Disguises! I want to trick some people." I told her with a grin.
"Of course, I should have known better." she retorted with a playful smile.
"You see," she began, "you already have the acting prowess to pull off the most difficult part of a disguise. But listen closely because I'm going to tell you everything there is to know about disguises. There are three key components so listen up! The first is makeup, like the ladies wear. Makeup can change your age and facial features to where you're not recognizable any more. This is perhaps one of the most difficult aspects to master but I'm sure you, Shouta, could learn rather quickly.
"The second aspect is the body modifications. Novices use stilts and flour bags. Bah! Homely posers. No, what you would need is to cast a "fat bag", which I can tell you about later, and special height-lifting shoes that make stilt-walkers blush in shame. These are important to make you seem fatter or skinner than you actually are. Taller, too.
"The third aspect is the clothing, of course. Nobody's going to believe that you're a Kage with that garb on, Shouta. No, you will need a decent understanding of the history of fabrics and the culture of fashion. It shifts so precariously these days so you might want to get caught up with that before you try and tackle costumes!
"And there you have it! The three basic aspects of disguise. But I'm sure you didn't come to learn just the basics from me, huh, Shouta? There's plenty more to learn and plenty more for me to teach. So let's take a look through my store and see if we can't get some hands on experience, eh?"
