Personality:
Those who make a far different from those who destroy. Those who reap are far different from those who sow. John is the type of man who would create rather than destroy. Rather than get rid of things which make his problems worse, he would create something that solves those very problems. John has an inherent urge to preserve things and make new things, rather than break down existing things. He is very careful as a result; those who act rashly break more than destroy. His love of creation also gives him an impression of measuring twice before making a single cut.
An honest man is willing to do things the correct way. He does not try to cut corners, or use his abilities to get him out of work. He does not lie, unless something of greater value is at stake, such as saving innocent lives. Hard work has become his normal day, and he will work even if he has nothing to do. He finds himself at odds with those who have policies of dishonesty. He will not deceive, for he believes that to do so is wrong, and that he is a better, stronger person for keeping himself in the path of light.
The humble character is not prone to excess or showy behaviors. They are more likely to live in the backwoods, or on a back street, rather than with a mansion on main street. They might live well, but in Faber's case, he does not live excessively in either way. Humility is about hiding your fortunes and misfortunes alike. A humble person can be considered unknown in many ways, but simultaneously very frank about what they are and what they aren't.
Charity is a virtue which is so hard to act upon in this world. Many who ask for aid are truly con-artsits, capable of living off of others without doing any work. Although it is hard to pick out the needy from those who want, the charitable try to discern those borders and act on them whenever possible. A charitable man will still ensure his own survival, but will also look out for others and help them.
John is also painfully polite. He refuses to insult people unless it would absolutely defy his other values to. He will do what is socially acceptable as long as he doesn't think its morally wrong. He is not pushy, he is not aggressive in his mannerisms. He knows the times when he must act the hard man, but he likes to avoid these times unless necessary.
Appearance:
All in all, he is a brown haired young man, often with a hat on his head. He has short bangs, and shaves his hair so it goes around his hair. He will grow a beard come hard winters when he spends much times outside, but he will also shave his beard immediately if it would be rude of him to wear it somewhere. His face is relatively undamaged, as he has been cautious throughout the years and avoided injury. He doesn't tan well, so his complexion is usually fair. He has quite the defined facial shape, with bonier edges, but not in such a way that he looks malnourished, just in such a way that he looks sharp. His occasional beard tends to create an indefinite bottom to his face, giving the appearance of his face rising out of nothing. His green eyes look inquisitive in the midst of a rather industrious looking face.
His is a powerful man in physique. Although he has lived in relative wealth, he also considered riding and working as part of his duties. Years in construction have led him into a strong upper body, and hard rides under the instructionsof his masters have led him to a good core and a good lower body. All in all, he is no metrosexual hipster like so many are in the ninja world. His body is clean, for even when he works hard, he always finds a place to bathe. His body is lean for he is a strong proponent of burning off excess calories.
Background:
John was born among a family of wealthy entrepreneurs and industrialists. Despite their rich professions the family was always working not only as managers, but as day to day workers in their own company. Their regimen of hard work was quickly past to their son, as he began helping out on little jobs for the family from a very young age. He learned that this hard work payed off, as he linked the hard work his family did, not their ownership of expansive companies, to the good life he lived. He travelled around quite a bit, as his family owned land and men all over the known world. His family always tried to be respectful to their employees and acknowledge their needs and customs.
It was, of course, on one of these trips that John began to realize his purpose in the world. His family road wagons from place to place, and the journeys were so long, it was unbearable. But, even along the roads, the amount of unoccupied land they passed was absurd. Their was so much land in the world, ripe for the taking. John knew he wanted to develop that land, build place for people to live and work, and rent out those building to others while he worked on more buildings. John saw this as a path of hard work that would give him something to do, and make the world a better place.
At one point, while he was going through the Fire Nation, his parents came by a herd of horse. There he encountered a small pony who was unable to keep up with the others, and had a black coat whereas the others had brown. The pony seemed sociable enough, so his parents let him keep it as they continued their journey. John began working with the animal day after day for years, hoping some day it would be a great steed for him to ride from nation to nation as he ran his buisness.
The remaining years of his life were relatively uneventful. He studied construction with his uncle for a time, then continued his search around the world. He knew he had to start soon, as he was now a man grown. All he had to do was pick a plot of land, and spend the time to start building, and he would have an empire before a few years passed.
