Now Minerva took over once more. Following her instructions Mayu began to coax. To find her soul and grasp it as she pulled it forth. Slowly the essence began to leave her body, streaming outwards into a billowing cloud in front of her. It was difficult but she did so doggedly until the golden cloud, visible to none, was hovering before her. It was Minerva's gentle voice that guided her. 'Extend your arm and let it guide your soul.' Her left arm rose, hand curled so her index finger was pointing forwards. Her eyes remained closed as she attempted to harness her power.
The cloud condensed into a blue light but did not leave her body. Though she could not see it she could sense it. She could feel her unmoving soul. Frustration rose upon her face as she pointed with more ferocity, commanding her soul to go forth and move. She was unsuccessful however. No matter how badly she concentrated, how much she silently commanded, her soul would not move. The wrinkle of her brow showed her annoyance. The sweat rising upon her brow showed the effort she put into this silent command. Finally Minerva's voice broke through. High pitched and ridiculous she chided her.
'No, no, no! You have to be balanced. Honestly, do you know anything about this?'
'If she did she wouldn't need you teaching her Minerva.'
The growing tension she felt became annoyance at Minerva's comment but disappeared at Marcus's dry comment. As strange as the two tethered to her were, they provided balance. She closed her eyes once more and let it all fade away. If she realized that in absorbing these two she was growing as a person she would have been shocked, yet the thought never crossed her mind. Instead her thoughts were on pouring her consciousness into her soul. Slowly the blue cloud began to solidify and draw in on itself. It was beginning to become a solid entity as opposed to a tangled mess. She was learning to control it.
Soon the soul extended outwards from her body, slowly creeping and flattening out. It was starting to become an actual attack. It followed the swift extension of her arm. It crept slowly. Not at all fast enough to be a reasonable attack but it was a start if nothing else. Once she reached the distance she would be able to focus on speed. Soon she had reached her distance and allowed her soul to flow back to her. Minerva launched herself into a long lecture about how she had done so far, and what she had yet to do. It was obvious that Mayu paid little attention. It was like listening to a bird chirp as far as she was concerned.
Once her soul came back she took a deep breath and centered herself. With a swift movement she gestured outwards and her soul raced to follow. Inches raced beneath her soul and soon feet, even yards. Quickly her soul moved until it crashed into a passing creature. The frozen stature of the creature coupled with its yelp said she had succeeded. "What's it like?" She asked, seeking guidance from Minerva. She was too happy to explain the heart attack like effects and the breathlessness that accompanied them. Painful then, yet wonderful.[/ul][/font]
