Exterior.


Description:

In the southern end of Kumogakure no sato lays the combined research facility. Some of the parts are open to the public while others are only accessible to staff members. The latter is well-hidden from the public. Multiple alarms as well as security cameras are used to protect this area from intruders. All of the alarms plus the security cameras are connected to the security department at the Raikage tower.

A major reason for this tight security is due to the research. Kumogakure no sato has a large plethora of herbs to choose from. Furthermore, it's no secret that the Raikage is an alchemist. The second reason is that many of the herbs are very rare or have strong powers. Some of them are able to boost chakra while others can make people die. Having stray animals in the village is another hazard.

The staff are either shinobis, certified herbalists, medics, ANBU’s or certified animalists. Information leaks are usually punished with a jail sentence plus a temporary or permanent ban. Same goes for people who sell animals or herbs on the black market.


Location:

The facility is located one kilometer south of the hospital. A part of the building is actually built into the mountain for higher security. This mountain itself is inside the village with one side facing a very high cliff. It is virtually impossible to use explosives to get into that part of the building from above. The facility has a public entrance at the southern side plus a staff entrance at the north-east side. An ANBU member or a guard is usually seen at both of the entrances.

The facility is open to the public from 9 AM to 9 PM. The staff entrance is open all day. However, the staff entrance requires a face scan plus an ID in order to open.

At the third floor are five doors that lead to different rooms. One of them is a broom shed, number two is a staff room where guards can eat or relax, two of them are restrooms while the last one is what looks like a storage room with broken furniture.
The latter room is the one that leads to the research facility. At the back of the room is a switch that opens up a part on the right side wall. This part is the entrance to a somewhat large hallway.

There are seven rooms in there. One is a large office that is used to hold meetings or talk with clients. Two of them are combined locker rooms with showers that the staff can use. Number four is a storage room with soap, toilet paper plus other things that the janitor or cleaner use. But the true magic is in the other three rooms.

❀ Green house (sector 1):

One section of the greenhouse.

One of the rooms is a gigantic greenhouse. It has a height of 21 meters (70 feet), a length of 270 meters (900 feet) and a width of 180 meters (600 feet). This section is actually built into one of the smaller mountain in order to hide it. Several engineers as well as architects have cooperated on this section. The entire ceiling plus the walls have been enforced with different metals. This makes it borderline impossible to break into the green house from the mountain. The green house has different sections with different soil as well as temperature. Both of these modifications ensure the plants to grow at a healthy rate. Thirteen different sections are spread over this large area.

These sections are all divided with solid plastic walls. This prevents plant life and temperatures from moving into areas which they do not belong. One of the major reasons for using plastic walls is to create a “green house” effect. The rest of the green house section has a constant temperature of 60 F or 15 degrees Celsius. Light switches can be adjusted in order to regulate the temperature. One may intensify the lights or dim the lights to influence the temperature of said area. The jungle section as well as the coastal section has a special pump that makes the air moister than in other areas. All of the sections are connected by a path that is quite easy to follow.

The lights for the green house may be modified to increase UV output and light intensity. This aid in the stimulation of plant growth. These light switches are located within a small utility room. Supplying such an immense demand of electricity is a special set of electrical generators. Said generators are eco-friendly.
Water is obtained via recycling lost water vapor given off by plants. It extracts water which has filtered and sunken deep below the earth. This forms pools of ground water for plants or suiton jutsus. Water is stored off hand within barrels for easy access and use.

The NPC's of the underground green house further ensure up keep of the green house. These people may maintain PH balance of of soils, ridding of vermin and pests.

Description: When purchased, must choose 1 Region. The smell of green, growing life fills the air here. Lush vines laden with savory tomatoes grow alongside mandrake root, ephedra, and even more esoteric herbs. A single Biome is dedicated to a single region. It gives the temperature, and living conditions similar to that Region in order to give prime conditions of re-growing plants. Every person using this Biome and having its resources will receive a +20 Circumstance bonus to Agriculture checks.

♉ Animal pens (sector 2):


It is not so easy to access the animal pens compared to the greenhouse. The way to the animal pen is behind the second door in the hallway. Behind that is a wide corridor with special alarms. One of the main alarms releases a gas that makes animals and humans faint. Another alarm will close off the exit with iron bars. The bars cannot be broken with ninjutsus or taijutsus below “A” rank. No windows can be found in this hallway either in order to ensure extra safety. At the other end of the hallway is a double door that requires a set of keys or an ID card to open. The animal pens are located behind this door.

There are two large sections in the animal area. Section one is for land animals. Section two is for sea animals. The land animal section is at the same size as the greenhouse area. Similar to the greenhouse area, this section is built into the mountain as well. All of the animals are in different enclosed areas to increase the safety. The horses are in a luxury stable when not outside. There are 13 different areas all together. These areas mimics the environment found in the wild. Each area is surrounded by stone walls that are nearly indestructible as well as security cameras. An escape tunnel is located at the east wall. Said tunnel is hidden between the forest and grass region area.

A large wall separates the habitat section from the aquarium section. Four large pools that are 9 meters (30 feet) deep, 40 meters (133 feet) wide and 40 meters (133 feet) long are located at the west end. One of the pools is for predatory sea animals such as sharks or sea snakes. Pool number two is designed for fish, turtles, eels plus other non-predatory sea animals. The third pool is for tropical sea animals while the fourth one is for animals that live in cold areas. A third smaller pool that is 2 meters (7 feet) deep, 5 (17 feet) meters wide and 7 (23 feet) meters long is reserved for very small sea animals. All the four major pools serve as aquariums for the public since the walls are built by 2 meter (7 feet) thick plastic walls. There are two utility rooms in this area. One is in the aquarium section while the other is located in the habitat section.

Many tools are at hand to also allow maintenance and upkeep of cages and animals. Items may be used interchangeable with the greenhouse. This means that if the animal habitat area is lacking certain lighting equipment, water supplies, tools, etc. one may use the ones derived from the green-house instead. Supplying such an immense demand of electricity is a special set of electrical generators. Said generators are eco-friendly.

Animal wastes are recycled as mulch and fertilizers. Both green-house and animal habitats may work completely independently from the outside world. Very little is required from the outside world.

☢ Research Labs (sector 3):

Cupboard, fridge and desk section.


Room number three door leads to a small hallway with a very thick door. One needs an ID or a key in order to open this door. The door is built by extremely solid metal that can only be broken with an “A”-ranked ninjutsu or taijutsu. Both doors are fitted with alarms connected tot he Raikage tower.

At the other end of the door is the alchemy lab. It has security cameras just like the other rooms in the building. The lab allows a person to conduct research or develop certain chemicals, concoctions and elixirs.

Four people can be in the lab at any given time. At the western wall are a couple of cupboards with equipment plus two refrigerators with freezers. Both of the refrigerators are used to store samples that are developed by the scientists. All of the equipment is stored in shelves or drawers depending on the size. There are four cupboards in total that contains different equipment.

Cupboard 1: Contains scalpels, knifes, tweezers plus cutters that can be used to dissect plants or animals.

Cupboard 2: Contains bottles, boxes, plastic bags, measuring cups as well as tubes in various sizes in order to measure, experiment or store extracts or other things.

Cupboard 3: Contains Bunsen burners, microscopes, plates of different sizes and small machines that separate fluids.

Cupboard 4: Contains plastic gloves, masks, small laptops, sanitizing liquid, a first aid kit plus spare sandals that can be used inside the lab.


Next to the fridges are a sink plus a long desk. Above are some smaller cupboards that the workers can use to store food or drink.

At the opposite end of the room are five doors. Four of them are studies. Each study has a desk is two meters long and one meter wide. Behind the desk is a comfortable chair. They are all equipped with personal computers that can be used by the scientist. All of the desks have four sets of shelves plus three drawers. The top one can be locked if one wishes to store personal items or notes there. One of them contains a safe. Only highly ranked staff members can access this room. Inside this room is a large non-magnetizable safe. Said safe is hidden under the desk. This safe contains confidential papers such as reports. It only opens upon a given code. Room number five is a disguised escape tunnel.

Supplying such an immense demand of electricity is a special set of electrical generators. Said generators are eco-friendly.

Description: With this laboratory, the alchemist has every tool they may need at their ready disposal. This includes the things described in Alchemical Laboratory, Basic, plus an even broader of tools. The walls of this place is covered with blackboards upon which all sorts of obscure notes can be scrawled. The floor is made of rough tile, all the easier to clean chemical spills off while not being too slick to cause slips in such situations. The room includes four basins, each which has a barrel (Barrel, Large (Overview)) of water suspended over it, complete with a tap to permit easy access at all times. An emergency barrel (Barrel, Large (Overview)) mounted on a hinged platform can be tilted to pour water over a person in case of emergency. A single Alchemist using this laboratory and having its resources all to himself receives a +80 circumstance bonus to their Alchemy. Alternatively, up to 4 alchemists can share this space at the same time, and they each receive a +60 circumstance bonus on their Alchemy skill.

❂ Section 4 (the public section): The zoo and botanical garden.

The zoo is right behind the public entrance. Visitors have to pay a small fee in order to enter it. Half of the ticket income is used to maintain the animal pens as well as the herbalist section. The lobby looks pretty much like an ordinary entrance area. It features security cameras as well as alarms.

At the west wing is the botanical garden. This has the same format as the green house with thirteen different sections. The botanical garden is half the size of the greenhouse. Each section is also partially hidden behind a plastic wall in order to prevent theft. Still, the walls are not as thick as in the zoo so people can enjoy the plants. All of the plants in the botanical garden are usually half-grown. This also means that the public can see how the herbs grow. Staff members remove fruits as well as seeds every morning.

The zoo is located at the east wing. It has a somewhat different model than the botanical garden. Each section has a fence of 1,5 meters (5 feet) plus that there is a 0,9 meter (3 feet) deep trench in front of each section. This means that there is a distance of 2,6 meters (nearly 9 feet) from the top to the bottom of each section. At the top of the cages is a bridge that goes all around the zoo. All of the animals are juvenile animals. The scientists picks out the most tolerant one of each specie. Each section is equipped with special alarms in case the animals try to break out.

An aquarium section is separated from the rest. There are a total of four different pools that the public can look at. All of the pools have a thick wall of plastic that is 2 meter (7 feet) thick. The pools have different animals in them and are modeled after their natural habitat. Each pool has a public feeding session at 1 PM every day save Saturday.

Pool 1: Predators. I.e. sharks and sea snakes.

Pool 2: Non-predators. I.e. small whales, crabs plus eels.

Pool 3: Tropical animals. I.e. dolphins, gold fish as well as sea stars.

Pool 4: Arctic animals. I.e. seals, narwhals and Atlantic salmon.

'Looks like it's time to repay the Hokage' thought the female as she entered the facility. A bear ANBU was walking by her side. Marii typed in her ID after the machine had scanned her face.
The door opened and the duo went straight towards the floor that contained the broken furniture. They had to be careful; the council was coming back today.

'Good thing that I'm the one in charge of this facility with Kotomi' thought the young woman. She pulled out a spade before she headed for the plants. "Ninpo! Kage bunshin!" muttered the Raikage as she did the weird hand seal. Five copies of her appeared immediately.

"I want all of you to dig up one plant of each specie on this list. We have no time to lose" stated the female. All six of them ran off after they had decided what plant each of them should dig up.
It did not take that long until the herbs had been collected in a large wooden box. The six shinobis then used a henge on all of the herbs.

The plants were now just 0,4 meters tall. "I'll send this off today. It should get to Konohagakure no Sato quite soon. The five of you better get to the mansion - we have some errands to do" told the brunette. All of them nodded and she went straight to the post office with the box.

Jutsus used:

Kage bunshin no jutsu (Shadow clone jutsu).
Rank: “B” Rank.
Skill: Ninjutsu.
Effect: The kage bunshin no jutsu (shadow clone jutsu) is a increased and stronger form of the regular bunshin jutsu which is a mere genjutsu. Kage bunshin allows the clones to actually inflict damage upon the opponent, They can even use jutsu for they carry their own chakra circulatory system, making it even impossible for the Hyuuga clan members to tell them apart from the original.
Each clone that the user makes divides his/her chakra up evenly between them making ten clones means each clone has one tenth the original users chakra supply. The clones are real enough; they even bleed when cut but when inflicted with enough damage the clone disappears. Special: A special handsign where the user crosses the two first fingers of each hand making a cross.
Drawback: The average user can only make about 5 clones. Excessive use of the clone jutsu can leave the use extremely low on chakra. When the clones are destroyed the user does not get a return in chakra.
Description: The kage bunshin is an exact replica of the user and can not in anyway be proven to be a copy not even by the most elite of jutsu. Unless they are taken to the test and actually harmed.
Limit: Must be Chuunin in order to get this technique. Kage only is capable of allowing someone to learn.

Effect: Allows the user to transform a single object with henge no jutsu (transformation technique).

Description: User is able to touch a person or an object and perform henge no jutsu (transformation technique) to said person or object. Same rules as henge no jutsu (transformation technique) applies to this technique except for one rule. The object or person is capable of leaving the user's hands. The henge no jutsu (transformation technique) lasts as long as the user is capable of keeping it active, or dispelled through attack. Only works on a willing person or object owned by a different person.
Limit: Universal ninjutsu technique. Must know henge no jutsu (transformation technique).

[Enter kage bunshins and Marii]

Five kage bunshins plus their creator were on their way to the research center. The women had gathered a lot of herbs that had to be planted. 'Pretty sure this is the code' recalled the female as she flicked the switch.
Seconds later, the research center revealed itself to them. It had not changed much since the last time Marii had been there.

"You know what to do gang. Let's scatter!" ordered the young woman. The five clones nodded before they went off to plant the herbs. The Raikage suddenly noticed there was a package there adressed to her.
'Hm...it's from a temple in Enrai' noticed the female when she read the slip. She put on her goggles after turning them to X-ray mode.

A smile formed at her face whe she saw the content. There were numerous herbs inside the box! She unboxed the plants and went straight to the forest region to get them planted.
It took some time since the temple had sent quite a lot of plants. But many of them would be useful, especially the oats.

'There. Some of this stuff should do the trick' thought the brunette after she had sprinkled the soil with some water. The young woman went back to the exit where the kage bunshin waited for her.
"Let's get back home. We have some business to finish" stated Marii before they left the research facility.
