Iwagakure, a rather large village hidden within a mountain. And it's village is full of people from all walks of life. But being who I am... I need to learn more about those people. It is a goal to learn more languages as well as recognize the dialects that people speak in. I already knew Abyssal, Draconic, and Common. And so today, I intended on furthering my knowledge of the common language.
I found myself walking around the village, just listening to certain people talk and how they were. My ability to notice their dialects wasn't all that great at the moment, but I found myself able to pinpoint those that grew up here in the village and those that didn't. I listened carefully toward a female who was talking to a shop owner.
From the words alone, I recognized that she was not on the same social status as myself. Then again, I was also a Kage. It was difficult to find people who were in that same regard. But she had grown up here. Her words gave that away easily enough.
I moved toward another who was dressed quite fancily. His words showed me simply that he was not a part of this village, or at least had not been for long. I looked forward to learning where he was actually from and wished to engage in a further conversation with him. Why in particular? Because he was of the same social status as myself.
"Good morning, Sir. I wonder... Are you visiting this fine town?"
I asked, my words flowing over to him within the common language that he spoke.
"Why... Yes. Strange, I had wondered if people would notice."
He explained. I found it strange that he was wondering something such as that. After all, he was dressed in a very specific way. But I wondered what that was. I hoped that further conversation with him would show that to me.
"I'm currently running my own test, sir. A way of learning some background of a person based only on their dialect. I was wondering if you would engage in further conversation so I might pinpoint more about you. As it is now, I can only pinpoint that you are not from this village, and that you are of the same social status as myself."
I explained. He seemed intrigued. I wondered where this would take us...
