With Tora's excellent application of Genjutsu, the duo were able to escape from the city of Enrai with Tomomi in hand. Once the guard had fallen victim to the genjutsu, both of them took off running with the clone in tow. After just a short while they had covered enough distance to render chasing them a waste of the guards' time. Best of all, the clone had survived and Taisen got to keep his shield. Overall, not a bad day.
At this point, Taisen realized that if they did stop to interrogate him they would have no choice but to kill him. Worse yet, if they interrogated him they had no way of being able to gauge the accuracy of the information. Overall, a terrible idea because neither of them actually had any idea what they were doing. So, Taisen decided they should keep it moving and try to get Tomomi back to Mist Village where some professionals could have a crack at him. Also, he wouldn't be able to peddle explosives from a cell in the village, could he?
The issue was, of course, safely transporting an unconscious man through two countries and over the ocean. It wasn't so much that getting over the ocean would be tough, it's that people would likely wonder what the deal was with the pair of weirdos carting around a guy who might be dead. That being said, if anybody came along who seemed like they might have something to say, Tora could always turn Taisen and the body he carried invisible. Another issue, of course, was that Tomomi might wake up and start to bemoan his plight. Another blow to the head might not be conducive to later information gathering, so hopefully Tora's nap-time technique would work better.
"Alright," he said after the pair had eluded the guards, "that was awesome! What needs to happen now is this: we need to get the hell out of this country, and we need to keep sleepy-head here quiet while we do. I can carry him as far as we need to, and the clone can watch our backs. Can you use your genjutsu to make sure that he doesn't wake up prematurely? Also, if anybody who might frown on us carrying a body shows up, can you turn me invisible again?"
Assuming both of the answers were yes, he would walk at as fast of a pace that he felt Tora could keep up with, while the shielded clone took up the rear and kept its eyes open. Taisen still held Samehada in his right hand, and his butt bag still held all of his usual stuff, but minus about five zip ties for a total of fifty-two. Instead of bothering to camp out this time, he would just keep powering on through the night until they reached the coast. Just like before, it was strangely easy for shinobi to get passage in boats, so Taisen didn't expect any trouble at the docks. As soon as they found a captain willing to take them to Water country, they'd be off.
((Move to Water whenever Tora posts.))
