The ANBU HQ is the second most defended and surveilled building in the city, and one with the greatest foot traffic due to the open and accessible nature of the building.  There two entrances to the building, one leads directly to the basement; where only ANBU members are capable of entering, and the main entrance at the front where the general public are screened, disarmed and then allowed in.  Shinobi of the village are capable of only entering the front door unless they are escorted by a member of ANBU or the Kazekage, or they have written permission from the Kazekage who is unable to attend to the situation.  The reason that visitors are allowed is thanks to the villages great scientific focus and pride over their educated subjects.  Many people visit this building to learn and acquire more skills, and children are brought from the civilian schools and the academy to learn from the members of the Shinobi Elite.  The building possesses a good many facilities that are open to all those who are willing to learn.  

Although people are allowed to come and go; hours of the building are quite restricted to prevent the ANBU from being distracted from their jobs.  Opening hours to the public are from 12 PM to 8 PM, and the only floor that is usable by the public is the first.  Every Friday there are multitudes of children in the building that are brought on trips to come learn about the judicial system and police foundations of the city, and they are trained in self defence classes by members of ANBU.  Finally, the facilities are closed down for a couple of hours in order to allow the kids to have some fun with, all carefully supervised of course.  The importance of science and education cannot be stressed hard enough by the village leaders, thanks to the belief that an educated village is a powerful village.  On the last Sunday of every month, the building is closed to all except ANBU for a meeting with the Kazekage to discuss Village Safety and protocol changes that may or may not need to happen.  All Chuunin and above Shinobi are to attend.  

The front entrance of the building is not grandiose, but it is large and guarded by three members of ANBU.  One member of ANBU stands on either side of the building, not moving unless they need to subdue a target; or their guard is relived by arriving members who tag them out, ensuring there is never no gate guards.  The third ANBU member checks visitors for weapons and intent, and are all specifically trained to assess hostility and people who are withholding the truth.  This makes getting into the building a chore, but it is for the safety of the ANBU, and the protection of any village secrets that may be held guard within the walls of the building.  All weapons and equipment are returned when the owner is leaving the building, any items not collected is recycled for use in the village and given to any Shinobi who are lacking proper equipment.  Once the item is recycled; it cannot be returned to the original owner.  There is a three day waiting period before the item is recycled.  

Once a visitor is cleared to enter, and their weapons have been stored in the coat room and is under lock and key, and in view of the surveillance system, they are invited to see the main room of the ANBU headquarters.  The main room is a simple room, there are desks set up in a grid pattern, five by five that make up the centre of the room, and members of ANBU are researching cases and analysing evidence.  On the walls surrounding the room, there are many pictures and newspaper cut outs of every successful ANBU mission that was visible enough to be reported about.  The ANBU in this room are usually busy and should not be bothered, but once the visitor moves to the back of the room to the training halls, the ANBU who are working and teaching in here are willing to lend a hand or answer any questions someone may have about the rooms or any of the workings of the headquarters that are allowed to be revealed.  These three rooms are accessible by the public with tutors if needed.  

On the east side of the room there is an elevator with two buttons.  These two buttons lead to the first and second floor, but the second floor requires a key to access, and the keys are held by ANBU captains who must know that the person intending to go up to the second floor has permission to access it.  On the second floor there are facilities only usable by members of Shinobi in the village, as the skills that can be learned in the rooms are not exactly skills that the Kazekage wishes the inhabitants of the village to possess.  The armoury is also contained on the second floor, and any weapons that are needed by the village are rented with payment up front so that if the Shinobi is killed or the weapon is taken from them on a mission, the village does not lose money on some of the more valuable weapons.  There are not too many people on the second floor at any given time, but the floor is well surveilled, and access to the armoury is limited by Kazekage permission only.   

The secondary entrance is not directly guarded, but it is locked by a combination lock with the combination known only to members of ANBU, and a new lock is released at the meeting at the end of each month, meaning that the mandatory attendance means more than just missing out on new information.  There are exceptions granted for any Shinobi who are unable to attend due to being out of the country or are on guard duty, but those are special cases.  The door is incredibly difficult to find unless one knows where to look, as it is designed to look like part of the wall, as is the code pad, and the ANBU member must recall exactly where on the wall to touch to input the code.  Once the door is opened, there is a guard standing behind it monitoring the camera that watches those who are trying to enter through this route.  If the camera is short circuited for any reason, the door is dead bolted, and the door becomes unusable; ANBU members are dispatched to see why the cameras were disabled.  

The back door leads to the basement of the building, where the real work of the ANBU is stored.  Everything on surface level is simple and meant to keep the people of Sunagakure under the impression that the ANBU members are in fact a force of good as opposed to their true purpose.  Shinobi are secretive and deadly, if the public knew of the torture and interrogation; Executions; assassinations and other horrible events that transpired and were conspired down here, the trust in the village would be lost.  Extreme lengths are gone through in order to maintain the utmost secrecy of the villages underhanded activities.  Once the ANBU member has entered the true headquarters, they travel down a helical staircase where they enter a large domed room where all the nefarious deeds of the village are enacted.  Down here, the walls are lined with prison cells, one atop the other, each prisoner is manacled and there is a chakra dampening field in order to prevent any escape attempts.  There are always ANBU down here, barring the village vault, this is the most secure room in the village.

The Law

Note: ANBU Bear Division are the main ANBU members who serve the streets and protections of the Sunagakure (Village of Sand).

ANBU have the powers of arrest and instant sentencing over Sunagakure's citizens; when an ANBU passes a sentence on a lawbreaker, it is his final word. There is no defense attorney, no jury of Twelve Good Men and True, no defendant's testimony. There is just the ANBU—and he represents justice.

The system of justice is not designed to oppress citizens; it is designed to protect them and impart order in a city that is essentially a nation-sized powder keg. Instant justice gets the guilty off the streets swiftly; harsh sentences ensure they stay away and act as a deterrent to would-be lawbreakers who mistakenly believe that crime does pay.

So, ANBU have an immense amount of power invested within them. Appeals can be mounted but only with good cause. Usually, what an ANBU says, goes and when he says you pull time… then you pull time.

To ensure that the law is applied fairly and justice served no matter what the circumstances, ANBU spend a vast amount of time at the Academy of Justice and afterwards, studying the Laws of Sunagakure, both as part of refresher training and in their spare time. An ANBU's training includes the levels of training given to lawyers, advocates, magistrates and court-system judges. Every ANBU has to be able to rapidly weigh-up the evidence, assess the facts, cross-examine witnesses, listen to whatever pleas or excuses a suspect has to offer and then arrive at the right conclusion. ANBU spend years practicing these skills before they even approach Graduation and when they finally hit the streets they are well-versed in all the techniques, knowledge and assessment they need to employ when dealing with everything from littering to multiple murder.

Sworn Duties of an ANBU

• An ANBU is NOT an executioner – perps should be brought to justice and serve their time in a cell in the Desert Prison. It is difficult to question a perp and arrest his associates if he is lying on the conveyor belt. However, ANBU have the absolute authority to respond with lethal force if a perp endangers an ANBU, a citizen or Sunagakure as a whole. An ANBU will only coldly execute human wrongdoers under the most extreme of circumstances: collaboration with a hostile foreign power, for example.
  
• An ANBU should always use the minimal and most appropriate force necessary.
  
• Citizens may not be subjected to unwarranted violence.
  
• Perps must always be given a chance to surrender. Justice cannot be served if they are dead.
  
• It is the duty of every ANBU to report non-sanctioned or illegal activities committed by their fellow ANBU as a matter of course. No one is above the law.
  
• The full resources of the Kazekage are behind you at all times. You can query Dragon Division for information, call in any Falcon, forensics or a riot squad. Just ask Owl to follow a suspect or monitor a radio call or have a controlled strike upon an illegal demonstration. ANBU are not lone law enforcers – they have the backing of a massive organization.
  
• ANBU uphold and enforce the Law – they do not interpret it.
  
• ANBU have an incredible range of equipment and almost supreme authority. Do not abuse the trust the citizens have placed in you.
  
• Above all, do not use armour-piercing techniques on a charging fatty, ricochet in a classroom, or other forms that may harm bystanders!

Making An Arrest

ANBU are not executioners. It is their role to police the citizens of Sunagakure (Village of Sand) and root out the bad elements that threaten life and civil order. To this end, an ANBU may not simply take to the street with their RideBack, shooting every perp that crosses their path. A rigid system of law and order has been devised to govern the city and the ANBU are the direct instruments of that system. When discovered, an ANBU must make every attempt to arrest, sentence and arrange transportation of the perp to an iso-cube (Isolation Cube) to serve the punishment for their crime.

The imposing authority of an ANBU in full uniform is usually enough to make most perps surrender immediately, dropping their weapons and ceasing any criminal activities, leaving the ANBU free to make the arrest. However, some perps are truly desperate and are willing to risk even the wrath of an ANBU in order to remain free.

To successfully make an arrest without resistance, an ANBU must present himself to a perp and issue a verbal challenge. Only one ANBU may call upon a perp or group of perps to surrender at any one time. A perp must be able to see or hear an ANBU in order for an arrest to be attempted. It also needs noting that a perp must be able to both hear and understand the ANBU making the arrest – dumb animals and many creatures will simply not understand what the ANBU is trying to do.

Sentencing

Before an ANBU continues their patrol or current investigation, he must sentence the perp to a period of time in the Desert Prison. The arresting ANBU’s word is final for sentencing (subject to further evidence being uncovered at a later date and many crimes have variable sentences permitted, allowing an ANBU to use his own discretion and still remain within the law); however, an ANBU who is consistently too harsh or too lenient may will be investigated himself and disciplined. The guide below may be used by players to determine a suitable sentence for any perp they arrest, be it time spent in an iso-cube, a fine (paid directly to the ANBU's Sector House) or some other punishment.

General crimes are gathered into Codes and then into Sections, with a Section determining the specific crime. When sentencing, ANBU may quote the Code and Section to the perp (and must always file this information when logging an arrest) but are not obliged to do so.

Code 1: Homicide/Sexual Assault

Despite the fact that life is cheap in Sunagakure (Village of Sand), murder is still a heinous crime that the ANBU do not tolerate. Any citizen caught in the act of killing or attempting to kill, another, faces the stiffest penalties. Code 1 offenders receive no time-off for good behaviour and no parole; Life means Life, with their sentence served amongst similar offenders.

Code 2: Assault

Assault is a depressingly common occurrence in Sunagakure (Village of Sand). Pent-up aggression is usually the cause and attempts to control it. Citizens are expected to control their emotions but many find that lashing-out comes all-too easily.

Code 3: City Security

The security of Sunagakure (Village of Sand) is paramount, particularly in the wake of a War. The Security of the City Act enshrines Sunagakure (Village of Sand)’s sanctity and it can be invoked by any ANBU who has substantial reason to believe that the overall security of the city is under threat. This is never a step taken lightly and any ANBU who invokes the act or the sentence of Execution, must be in a position to fully justify his decisions and actions.

Code 4: Robbery

Like assault, robbery is depressingly prevalent. With little prospects of a job, far too much free time and the ever-present pressure to have the latest of everything, many citizens are all-too ready to resort to robbery and piracy to gain what they want. The most careful robbers may even get away with their ill-gotten gains – for a while, but robbery, whether a carefully-planned heist or an opportunistic street mugging (or ‘tapping’) is dealt with harshly by the ANBU.

Code 5: Burglary

Even though Sunagakure properties are fitted with advanced security systems, burglars, particularly the clever ones, always find a way to gain access to property and its occupant’s personal possessions. Like robbery, burglary is met with stiff sentences.

Code 6: Theft & Theft-Related Offences

Minor theft and related offences receive a more lenient treatment than burglary and robbery but still harsh nonetheless. Casual theft, such as shoplifting and pick-pocketing (known as ‘dunking’) are a major social nuisance and offenders do not receive a warning or a caution; the appropriate sentence is leveled whatever the circumstances.

Code 7: Arson

Although many of the buildings in Sunagakure are made from fire-retardant materials or are equipped with fire control systems, arson is still considered a heinous crime that must be punished with the harshest sentences. In a city where water is scarce, the deliberate act of starting a fire is considered to be on a par with murder.

Code 8: Medical & Scientific

The medical advances of the Sunagakure are astonishing. There is a constant demand for replacement body parts and internal organs, leading to a grim black market where people are kidnapped and have organs forcibly removed or their entire bodies sold to unscrupulous research scientists working on their latest insane scheme.

Mastering of technology at the molecular level has brought the ability for faces to be completely altered, using face changing devices. Of clear benefit to determined and desperate perps, this kind of technology is not banned, because of its clear medical benefits; but is strictly controlled.

Additionally, prosthetics have been a possibility, with prosthetic limbs and other enhancements available under specially licensed conditions. There are still those underground, unlicensed clinics where prosthetics modification can be bought illegally, giving certain criminals an edge on their competition and the Judges.

Code 9: Criminal Damage

Expressions of pent-up rage, as well as general impatience with ineffective equipment, are treated swiftly and sternly. Of particular annoyance to the city and the Justice Department, is the act of ‘scrawling’ – tagging public spaces with painted graffiti. Following the Marlon ‘Chopper’ Shakespeare affair, scrawling has diminished but occasionally fl ares again, usually in response to some perceived slight or social miscarriage.

Code 11: Civic & Financial

Financial regulations and strict budget control within the walls of Sunagakure have been given firmer rules in order to eliminate any petty or greater acts of financial fraud.  Gambling; legalized when the new Kazekage came to power has become a source of great profit to the village, and is currently policed by the SGAC (Sunagakure Gaming and Alcohol Committee) and they follow their own guidelines.  The acts of marriage and adoption both fall under Code 11 alongside the financial crimes.

Code 12: Technology

Any advances in technology leads to an exploitation of that technology for criminal ends, no matter what the safeguards. Most technology crime is covered under other codes, so Code 12 deals with certain specific crimes, such as tampering with robots, building WMDs and computer hacking. Deliberately planting aggression chips in robots, thereby breaking their conditioning to serve and obey humans, is viewed with special severity following the Robot Wars.

Code 13: Public Order

Maintaining public order is a major challenge for the ANBU. Riots and acts of mass public disorder fl are all too easily in such a densely populated city, and one with a population that has undergone extreme change in leadership, and is subject to a harsh climate.  

The pinnacle of Code 13 violations is Block War, when neighbouring city blocks begin blasting the hell out of each other, floor by floor and with whatever weapons come to hand, for the most trivial of reasons. Block War is difficult to contain, owing to the sheer size of the city blocks, the number of citizens involved and the ferocity of the fighting, and so ANBU come down very heavily on Block War participants and instigators. Once a Block War has been halted, the offending city blocks are sealed and ANBU conduct apartment-by-apartment searches, interviewing each and every citizen to uncover their participation in the fracas. Birdie lie detectors (as well as physical evidence – secreted weapons, spent shell cases, grappling lines, suckers and so on) quickly establish guilt.

Yet Block War has its uses. In the aftermath of the war ANBU have the opportunity to investigate many citizens and thus uncover many undiscovered or unsolved crimes. And, as Block War tends to result in huge arrest rates, some city blocks become surprisingly depopulated in a short space of time, allowing the vast waiting lists of those wanting block accommodation to find block housing at long last.

Code 14: Public Nuisance

Crazes and faddish pursuits started out of innocent boredom or a need to create something new can rapidly turn into a nightmare for the majority who do not share the enthusiasm. Some pursuits, like Boinging¹®, are simply too dangerous when not conducted under controlled conditions. So it is that certain pursuits become classified as Code 14 Public Nuisance Violations.

The Code also includes activities, such as running on a walkway, which, whilst not necessarily an endangerment to others (but could become so), simply fl outs the rules put in place to regulate behavior.

Code 14: Traffic

Sunagakure roads are incredibly dangerous places for those who do not practice safe driving. First there is the sheer complexity of the road system; navigation systems and planning a route remove some of the hazards of this complexity but people still become utterly bewildered by the spaghetti-like strands of main walkway that runs through the center of the city, sometimes filled with several hundred people. Couple that with the sheer speed of some vehicles – and the fact that the roads are never quiet – and the need for draconian traffic codes becomes apparent.

Code 16: Psi

Genjutsu and Ninjutsu are not illegal in Sunagakure – after all, the village maintains its own Shinobi that possess these abilities– but those rare individuals who do display considerable talents must be registered as soon as their abilities become apparent. A parent who knows their child possesses a large Chakra pool, but fails to register them is guilty of a Code 16/3 violation; not the child himself. Once registered, the abilities that the psion can use are logged and made accessible to the Kazekage via MAC. Using a power or talent that one is not licensed to use is a Code 16/2 violation.

Code 17: Employment

In a city of 100,000, few are unemployed.  As a consequence, the chances of having no job in Sunagakure are slim. Unemployment, and how to handle it, is taught as part of the school curriculum in a bid to equip people for the tedious reality of having nothing to do.

Code 18: Fraud & Forgery

Fraud and forgery are refined arts in Sunagakure, even given the advanced antifraud measures built into official documents, permits and so on. Practised forgers and counterfeiters are masters of their craft, capable of replicating most documents given enough time, resources and money, to a standard that will fool most detection devices. As most activities in Sunagakure require a permit or a license, fraud and forgery are still extensive crimes; citizens are always willing to take a risk to be able to pursue what they want to.

Code 19: Impersonation & Deception

Given the status and power of the ANBU it is little surprise that some citizens feel the need to impersonate them – either to commit a crime and (hopefully) get away with it or simply to experience the sheer thrill of striding around Sungakure, clad in that iconic uniform and flak jacket and to see the looks of fear, admiration and respect on the faces of ordinary civilians as an ANBU strides into view. Naturally enough, impersonating a ANBU– jimping – is a serious offence, even if the purpose is simply to attend an innocent fancy dress party. Yet impersonation and deception is not confined to jimping. With face changing technology available with relative ease, the temptation is there to have one’s facial features modified to resemble those of a TV, vid or music star. This is, of course, illegal; but it does not stop unscrupulous, unlicensed (and thus illicit) face change clinics from offering this special service to those who can a) afford it b) get a real kick from looking like current vid star Britnee Woodtarn and c) want to run the risk of a year in the cubes. For the fame-hungry (and Sunagakure has lots of famished individuals), the risk is worth it.

Code 20: Contraband

Exotic (and hence illegal, highly controlled or highly taxed) substances arrive in Sungakure from many sources: other villages, the the merchants in the desert and from exotic travellers. With so many of these tempting goodies banned outright, organised crime can make literal and metaphorical killings by supplying contraband merchandise at outrageous prices. Umpty Bagging – the sale of Uncle Ump’s extraordinary candy – is a case in point. Psychologically addictive, the recipe was shipped off-world with its creator but that did not stop pirates from capturing Ump’s lone spaceship and extorting the secret recipe from him. This counterfeit candy is now smuggled back into Mega-City One by the organised crime gangs to satisfy the needs of Umpty cravers desperate for their next fix. Similar is true for many other substances deemed too bad for public health – such as sugar, caffeine and other innocuous pleasures that were once considered harmless in the simpler days of the 20th and early 21st Centuries.

Code 21: Genetic Purity

There are few means in which a person can alter the DNA of another, and doing so with the intent to create a biological weapon is an executable offense.  Experimentation on any biological source is strictly by grant only, and all information learned must be submitted and the mutagenic material destroyed.  Any experimentation on humans is strictly forbidden and is an executable offense.  Mutants are known to exist, but they are officially sanctioned and their information will be kept secret and their identities protected.

Code 22: Pollution

Sungakure is a clean city and excessive pollution can spoil what little vegetation and fresh water the city possesses.  If a citizen is found purposefully or doing so dangerously unawares, they will be penalized and possibly arrested depending on the nature of the pollution.  Any Shinobi that is skilled enough to alter weather patterns with jutsu are strictly forbidden to do so within the city, and will be charged for their actions.  Respect for others and keeping the ANBU free to do important tasks requires citizens to maintain a proper following of curfew and volume abuse.

Code 23: Perverting the Course of Justice

Any action to prevent the law from working as it should, or the agents of the ANBU doing their job, carries a Desert Prison sentence. Most citizens know better than to get in the way of an ANBU but there are still those who see the ANBU as oppressors and are willing to run the risk of imprisonment if it means taking a stand, however small, against the totalitarian justice regime.

Darkness greeted him with such depth that he was not certain about whether or not he had opened his eyes.  There was a pain in the back of his head, and around his face, ribs, abdomen, and pretty much everywhere on his body.  He felt as though he had not put up much of a fight at all, and beyond raising his fingers and readying to send a bullet of bone through the skull of the beautiful Kazekage aide, there was no recollection for him.  Though he was certainly where he wanted to be; he was still quite surprised that they had not killed him outright, but the temptation to execute a criminal such as himself in public did not seem to be something they could resist.  His entrance in the Shinobi ranks of the village was a farce to begin with; he always knew that they had forced him to join simply to keep an eye on him and to see if his involvement in the village slowed the crime rate of the village in order to prove his guilt.  Although to this day he did not understand why they had not killed him alongside Noah; but every day that he remained alive and allowed to continue his plans was a blessing.  Now that he was locked in this cage in what was more than likely the ANBU fortress, he was where he needed to be.  

Unfortunately with these steel cuffs locking his hands behind his back, and his ankles locked together too, he was not going to be able to get out of here on his own and get any information he needed.  Things were working like he had planned though; the girls would more than likely have their new recruits soon, and for those that aided him in taking over the village; his rewards would be remarkable.  He shifted his weight, trying to get a little more comfortable and get the sharp metal from digging in to his back.  Wincing as he rolled onto his side, he could see a sliver of light at the end of the room that was obviously from a door that lead somewhere else in the building.  Not that it helped him, other than to signify that he was not blind like he originally thought.  Given the silence of the room, he suspected that he was the only one locked behind the bars in the basement of the ANBU building, which was oddly convenient.  All this thinking though, it was quite tiring; he had put himself through quite a bit; maybe having a short nap was not such a bad idea.  As long as he was not concussed, but given his quick healing, he suspected that it would be fine if he passed out now.  His cheek pressed against the cold metal of the cell floor, and he closed his eyes, letting the cool touch distract him from his headache.  

He could feel the blood that had been spilled from his body sticking his clothes to his body; and the cold liquid made him shiver as the cool air of the basement was something that he had not experienced in the desert for a long time.  The cold blood was more than likely leaking onto the metal too.  How badly had he been beaten?  He laughed to himself as he imagined being knocked out with one strike; then dragged haphazardly through the city and the tower before being dumped in here.  Once this was all over and done with, he was going to have a lot of stress to work out on some of these so called ANBU; and the thought of this made him smile his cheshire smile to himself as he imagined himself sitting in the Kazekage chair with the beautiful Gallows working beneath him.  All the information he needed was likely hidden here; once he was broken out, they could investigate.  The inauguration for Gallows was happening soon, the guard would be stretched too thin to stop such a terrorist attack that was going to sneakily take over from within.  Especially if they were competent.  His eyes began to droop, seemingly too heavy for him to hold up any longer.  It was nice that they had him locked in a dark room at least, the sun wouldn't wake him.

The foreboding emptiness and silence made it quite easy for Diomed to know when ANBU were patrolling or when they came to check in on him.  Even if he had not had his eyes shut, the light was still enough to warn him that other people were entering the room.  Not one of the passing guards had made a sound, they had done their routine checks to make sure he was still alive, then left.  The thought had crossed his mind that he should possibly pretend to have died so that they would unlock the gate and he could try and break out.  The Kaguya suspected that they had specific ways to test that involved more than listening to his breathing.  Holding his breath and not moving would have only gotten him so far; he was still quite sore from the wounds he had sustained... What was it now?  Days ago?  A week?  Time passed slowly here, and without natural light, he had no way of telling.  It took much of his mental strength to avoid thoughts of time, as those would only deepen the madness he felt he was on the edge of. 

The food had come scarcely, and it had not been pleasant, but he was a dog to them, and it had surprised him that they were feeding him at all, prolonging his life for the execution probably.  Every time his thoughts landed on his impending doom, he laughed and listened to the hollow echo, feeling that his usual overwhelming dominance was slipping.  All he really needed was to chat with someone, to keep his tongue sharp.  Hopefully he would be soon getting practice; if his guess was right, Gallows herself would be coming to see him quite soon to inform him that he was going to die.  That was what happened in the movies.  Rolling onto his back, he ignored the plate that grazed his shoulder as he settled, he was too tired and in pain to worry about being a little more dirty than he already was.  The wounds had healed thanks to his superior genetics, but just because he was not in immediate danger, did not mean they would not come back to haunt him if his body did not get the proper nutrients.  

The clanking of keys against the lock alerted him, and his head shifted enough for him to get a view of the door opening.  It was not as bright out now, it must have been night time now.  The door opened slowly and there was no immediate movement as the person seemed to either hesitate to come in, or was doing something outside still.  The ANBU would have have been in right away, so it was probably not them, nor would it have been the people tasked to get him out of here on the day of the inauguration, since they would not have been the kind of people to get the keys.  A soft word was spoken, but it was so quiet he was not able to discern what was said.  Not that it mattered, there was only one voice that commanded respect with such softness in the village, and he felt the skin on the back of his neck shiver as the hair on his body rose, and goosebumps spread across him.

"I see our mistake is being remedied"  

Her voice was a little deeper than one would have  expected from a woman of her stature, but the reality of the situation was that if you did not show the proper respect, you would be seeing a lot more that you would consider unexpected.  Such as your heart being pulled clean from your chest.  Even with the legendary warrior standing before him, he could not contain his excitement.  

"Well, that sounds right, you guys are always making mistakes"

The words would have had some sort of effect on someone who was remotely human, but she was well beyond allowing needless little words to get to her.  If anything there may have been a slight pursing of her lips as she visualized tearing his head from his shoulders.  The smile on his bloodied face did not falter, instead he managed to roll over and sort of sit up with his back to the cold steel wall, his hands uncomfortably tucked in under his lower back.  In the dim light of the room, it was hard to tell, but he could see her outfit pretty easily.  A long white coat was drawn across her slender shoulders, the arms hanging loosely by her side, as her arms were crossed across her pale stomach under her bandaged breasts.  The visible skin was unblemished and perfect, and his eyes slowed as they descended down her stomach.  The pants she wore matched the coat, very white and quite baggy, but somehow she still pulled it off.  They could say what they wanted about her, but the terrorizing and unstoppable power only made her more sexy to him.

"This mistake is being remedied, you will be dead on the day of my inauguration, I will prove my worthiness by spilling the blood of one of Sunagakures more useless criminals"

Diomed could not help the twitch of his nose as her words sparked the anger in his heart.  The cruel smirk that settled on her pretty features made it fairly obvious she had noticed it.  Apparently she was just as good at the game as he was, and a little more practiced in hiding her emotions.  The twitch had lasted barely a moment, and the smile was back on his face at the thought of her wanting him dead enough to do it herself.  It was not often that a Kage was willing to take care of the criminal themselves, especially if he was a useless criminal.  Even though he was not able to be regarded on the right side of the law, and yes, maybe he was planning to overthrow the government, but he was hardly a criminal, more of a mischief maker, of a hooligan, something simple.  Her scent finally reached him, and he breathed in deep, smelling the very weak scent of vanilla from her body wash or perfume, there was nothing about her that he did not find irresistible.  

"Dying by your hand?  You honor me, but I think we could be doing things together we'd both find more entertaining"

The silence hung for a moment as she tried to process the brazen words he spoke.  

"You will not die painlessly, and you will not be remembered"

Even though he was likely going to be killed by her, he was quite satisfied in the knowledge that he had won a small victory.  Her steps rang out as she left the cell and walked towards the door, knocking on it, summoning an ANBU to open it for her.  With a quick turn of her head, she stared right into his eyes, the intense blackness almost swallowed him up.  The shiver came back, and his blood ran cold as he could feel her eyes boring into his mind.  There was no feeling comfortable under a gaze such as hers, and he was unable to maintain eye contact, Diomed averted his eyes and cursed his weakness, knowing that any small victory he wanted to claim could no longer be taken, as he had not even been able to meet her gaze.  He swallowed thickly and closed his eyes, his smile having faded into a tight lipped emotionless mask.

"A pathetic excuse such as yourself would not be able to entertain me anyway, you're a waste"

Zelda gazed at the ANBU facility before her. There had been a lot of hours wasted here over the last few years; and she could not recall a single one of them where she had enjoyed putting her skills to use within these walls. Granted, much of her skill came from instructors who resided in this building, but there was nothing she would miss about them or it at all. Diomed did not want to abolish ANBU, but there certainly would be some cutbacks regarding the waste of spaces in here. The new ANBU would not have anything to do with village security, and their funds would not be wasted so. The reason she had dragged the little kid along was to use her as bait. Well, more of a distraction really. The defenses of the city would be focused on the inauguration thanks to Diomeds threatening presence. Gallows and her following were under the impression that something was going to happen at the inauguration.  They were right of course, but it would have nothing to do with Diomed and his little troupe.  That was a lie, but they weren't going to be there to cause trouble at least.  More than they had.  Well, no it was going to be a lot of trouble everywhere.  

There was a time to stop trying to think about it, and just get on with her work.  Or the little girls work.  Zelda did not know, she was making a plan up on the fly.  The results of her search for people had been dissatisfying and they had wasted a lot of time before hand on a stupid plan to find people, and it was a wonder that they had even found anyone at all.  A kid, a weird psychic, a seaweed who was actually quite rude, and a self righteous criminal who believed himself better off than her and her friends.  It was a start, and she did not know if there was going to be anything better to come along, especially when the inauguration was beginning very shortly, and security had been moved from the ANBU facilities to over the Kage tower and the inauguration grounds.  Hopefully there would not be much going on inside, because she did not know if the kid could protect herself, and Zelda was not completely certain that she could protect both of them while trying to fight off any members that were inside.  

"Ready kid?  You're gonna have to do some lying on the fly, hope you have some lines"

The blonde would begin to walk towards it, her usual confident sashay was tightened into a more professional and taller walk, with her shoulders broadened and her back straight.  The ponytail still dangled carelessly from the back of her head, as kunoichi hair styles were rather restrictive.  The ANBU at the door was looking rather bored, leaning up against the wall with his arms crossed over his chest and his hands tucked under his arm pits.  His head was leaning back against the wall too, and his chest was falling far more slowly than a waking mans chest would.  The idiot had probably been counting on his mask from hiding his obvious shirking of his duty.  Although she could hardly be called faithful to her Kazekage, she was still one of the village that had been called ANBU at one point, and she was offended that the likes of lazy fools like this could be compared to elite fighters like her.  Licking her lips slightly, she cleared her throat loudly, waking the ANBU guard up with a shake and a snort.

"Name and ID please?"

He was pretty quick on the recovery, she gave him that, but he still looked around quite blearily and with obvious dissociation.  The blonde stood there with a mighty deep scowl on her face; which he seemed to be blissfully unaware of for a moment, before finally waking up enough to realize who she was and why he should have been quite afraid of her.  The swear under his breath was caught by her sharp ears, and she raised an eyebrow.  

""Ah, Zelda, sorry, I was just out late last night, who's the kid?

The blonde did not appreciate his casual tone with her, but considering she was no longer among the ranks of the ANBU members, she could hardly had the authority to comment on what she was seeing.  As for his question of who Amira was, she was going to go with the first thing that came to her mind.

"My little sister, she wants to see where I used to work"

It was casual enough, hopefully the girl could lie as well as she wandered into trouble.  The masked ANBU turned from the taller blonde to the short brunette, and he bent his knees to get on face to face level with her.  Through the mask she would see that his soft blue eyes looked far too young to be a shinobi of this rank, but his hands were calloused and worn with age showing he truly was older than his eyes begat.  

"Huh?  You're spending time with your mean big sister huh?  Hope she doesn't treat you too bad.  What's your name?"

Amira was basically dragged against her will to the AMBU headquarters. Her father had shown her the iconic building multiple times when they would go to her boxing practices. She walked along with Zelda as they approached the front gate. Looking at the oppressing building made her think of how oppressive AMBU had been since the Gallows had come into power. She was a very powerful lady, but the word that Amira would use to describe her would be paranoid at the very best. She had seen horrors in the streets for petty crimes. Old men being executed in the streets for speaking out against the Gallows and her regime. The thought of all the wrong that had been done made her grit her teeth as Zelda led her along.

As they got closer to the building she noticed a guard who was less than interested in doing his watch. He slumped against the wall in an extremely relaxed fashion. Amira couldn't help but sympathize with the tired guard. Doing guard duty was such a waste of effort. Aside from personal thoughts about the guard Amira mentally went through all of the things on her vest. She felt the slight breeze on her face as Zelda spoke to her.

"Ready kid? You're gonna have to do some lying on the fly, hope you have some lines"

As it turned out Amira had thought nothing about lying, She had just assumed being Amira would be enough to get into a government building for which she was a citizen of. She then thought about Gallows intensive policy and changed her mind very quickly. The new security measures were probably the want-to-be Kazekage's doing. Amira then realized that in order to achieve freedom for her people she would have to lie. She didn't do it often, but if the cause was great enough a lie would not hurt anyone. Amira quickly looked at Zelda and put on her adorable 12 year old face, and gave a happy smiling nod. At that they began to approach the building She giggled looking at the older girl. She waited for her to speak first as the guard became attentive.

"Name and ID please?" The guard asked promptly.

He must have forgotten about that about that because he obviously remembered very quickly who she was" "Ah, Zelda, sorry, I was just out late last night, who's the kid?". At that question Amira did her best to look as innocent as possible. She slid behind Zelda's leg trying to look frightened. She was playing on the fact that being a child made her less likely to be questioned. She then poked her head out and started looking about a little trying to appear to take more interest in the headquarters. "My little sister, she wants to see where I used to work" Zelda said casually. "yeah, Zelda is always talking about how awesome this place is, She even says that when I grow up I could be just like her." She said putting on her adorable smile directed more at Zelda than the man to show that she could lie. "Huh? You're spending time with your mean big sister huh? Hope she doesn't treat you too bad. What's your name?" The guard asked. Amira had thought about the answer to the question very carefully for a second than acted on instinct." Yeah, isn't she the best!" she said tugging on Zelda's sleeve. "oh, and my name is Mika by the way." she said smiling at the guard directly this time. "I'm a genin now so I thought sis could let me into what the future has in store." She said happily displaying the Suna headband hanging causally around her neck. "I aspire to be just like her after all" she said bring the smile down a notch. She was ready for whatever Zelda needed of her, and if all else failed she was ready to paralyze this guys and at the very least stultify him enough to where they could advance.

Zelda fought the urge to roll her eyes; and it was certainly lucky that she did not have direct sight with the ANBU member because he might have noticed the pained look on her face as the girl over exaggerated greatly.  It was a dicey lie, especially claiming that she had the same name as Mika, who had also been a member of ANBU; and that name was not overly common.  Luckily he seemed to be hungover enough to believe the bullshit, and allowed them to go through.  As they walked by, he would yawn loudly and lean back up against the wall.  The blonde was not overly impressed by the security of the building, and the deterioration of talent that the village had allowed in had become disgusting for her to tolerate.  Once inside, the usual facade of business hit her hard in the face, and the smell of all the incompetence was nearly overwhelming for her.  Turning her head, her eye flickered down to the small girl, making sure that she was still by her side.

"Next time, don't be stupid, keep it quiet, the next lot won't be hungover"

The words were practically whispered, and hopefully not overhead by anyone around.  Zelda was fairly certain that they would be heading towards the basement next; but there were two guards in front of it, and all eyes were focused on the door.  Diomed was not exactly a low priority for the village, as his head was going to be collected when the inauguration started, so it was important to make sure he stayed in his cage.  The blonde sucked on her teeth and wondered how they would do it.  There was way too much security to sneak through, and causing trouble in here would boost the security of the village to a point where they would not get anything done.  Her thoughts were mixed and worried until she saw the perfect opportunity.  Kneeling down, she grasped the girl by her shoulders and looked at her, the lone eye showing fierce determination.

"Get into that room over there, and no matter what, do not look back, get in there, unlock Diomed, and he'll get you guys out of here, don't look back"

As she spoke, she pointed to the door on the west side of the building then stood up tall and prepared herself, giving the small girl time to move around and get in a position where she would not get caught in a crossfire that was likely going to happen.  The serious blonde moved towards one of the men who was lounging against one of the columns with a confused look upon his scarred face.  This man was the reason she had been removed from the force, as he was the one who had threw her under the bus about some torturing that she had done in order to gain information on some shinobi from rain.  Apparently her tactics had been deemed inhumane and she had been reprimanded greatly.  This had been the precursor to her anarchistic actions as of late.  The charming words of the smiling monster that Diomed was were enough to convince her that once he was in charge of Sunagakure; she would be able to do things her way.

"You slimy piece of shit, I can't believe you're still here and not stabbing anyone in the back"

The vehemence in her voice and body language could not be mistaken, and it easily made people around quite uncomfortable.  The scarred face of the sleaze looked up from his notes.  He grinned at her furious visage and closed the folder quietly, thinking over a polite reply to her rather boisterous introduction.  

"Ah, Zelda, I'm surprised they even let you in here, we have no one here with any information for you to squeeze out"

There was not even hesitation, and she popped her fist right into his face with all of her strength, sending his head back against the column and cracking the concrete.  He yelled out and tried to fight back, but she descended upon him like a lioness on her prey.  ANBU members descended upon her, and tried to wrestle her away from her target, but she had opened the first two gates in order to break the mans face, and it was working quite well as his clothes and skin were stained red by his blood as her attacks tore through his feebly and poorly executed defenses.  The door was abandoned by the two ANBU and Amira was clear to run into the room and meet the man behind the coup that was taking place.  The scuffle would be blocked from her sight as people tried to pry the mad woman from their fellow ANBU, but they knew her well enough to let her blow of some steam on his face before pulling her off, he would be left alive probably, then the medics could take care of him.  

Once Amira crossed the base and entered through the door, the darkness would greet her, and she would have to travel down the long flight of stairs to get to the cages below where Diomed was kept.  No doubt he would be happy to see her.

The base as far as Amira could tell was very dreary. The cold concrete floor clacked under Amira's shoes as Zelda lead her inside. Amira looked up at the much older women. She listened to her statement and grimaced. "alright, whatever." she said yawing a bit. She followed her captor further along until they came to a point that seemed to be important. For Amira she didn't truly understand the magnitude of what she was going to do. Freeing Diomed would throw the village into a whole new era. Amira was still not quite sure if she was ready to help bring a leader to power. She was only a little 12 year old girl after all. She thought about her qualifications for this special task. Amira felt Zelda grasp her shoulder as she gave her direct and simple orders.

"Get into that room over there, and no matter what, do not look back, get in there, unlock Diomed, and he'll get you guys out of here, don't look back"

Amira looked at the door that Zelda had indicated. She pointed at it just to make sure she was looking at the same door. She nodded quickly and began to walk towards the door reluctantly. She played Zelda's words over and over in her head. "don't look back" she muttered quietly as she continued to quietly walk slowly towards the basement doors. She did exactly as she was told, she didn't look back. She heard some commotion behind her that sounded quite like a crumpling body. She didn't look back. Amira quickly broke into a sprint. She couldn't look back now, even though she was curious as to what was going on. She felt of the metal handle of the door, not knowing what to expect on the other sided. She pulled the doors open, only to be met with a maw of darkness.

She looked around it the room that was extremely low lit. She looked about in the darkened room for any hint of what she was suppose to do. Don't look back, she heard Zelda's words ring in her mind as she noticed the stair case leading deep into the interior of the base. She would need to keep going. "alright...lets get this over with." she said slowly descending down the staircase. She noticed the poor lighting, which would make any of her Nara techniques much more difficult to use. She slowly took a breath and continued to walk down the stairs. The only sound that greeted her was the sound of her foot steps as she descended further and further into the darkness. When all Amira ever wanted was to live in the light, she always seemed to be plummeted into darkness.

"What a pain this is..."

She muttered as she walked down the long flight of stairs. She continued to walk downward, until she had reached what appeared to be the bottom. She didn't know what she was looking for exactly, but she knew she had to do whatever it was she was going to do. She slowly found something she had not expected in the least. She quietly began to adjust to the darkness as she slowly looked about the chamber at the bottom of the long staircase. She peaked about quietly, trying not to seem conspicuous. She knelt down began to see what appeared to be cages. What were cages doing down here. She had forgotten that AMBU acted as the police force as well as the special ops. She quietly observed what was around in the dark space, staying crouched down at the bottom of the stair well. She hoped she would find what she was looking for soon.

Zelda clawed out at the asshole who had gotten her kicked out, but he strikes were short, and her arms were seized by ANBU members who pulled her back.  As respected as she had been during her work here, it was not going to get her out of trouble now.  This was fine though, she was destined to sit in the jail until Diomed took over and busted her out.  Still fighting against the grasping hands of the other ANBU members, she scowled with great anger, trying to get back and take her revenge as the maggot stood up and spat out blood.  The look on his face was disgusted, and he obviously did not enjoy being embarrassed like that.  As she was bound, and the beaten man pulled out a knife, she realized that this was not going to end quite the way that she had thought, and panic set in.  Throwing her body back, she tried to escape, but the hands held strong, and he grasped her neck and readied his strike,  The knife sunk into her stomach with barely any effort, and he did slow slowly, and with great relish.  

Her soft lips parted as a whisper of a breath was drawn in.  The pain was significant, and she was unable to fight back further as a hand covered her mouth and her nose, cutting off her air as she tried to struggle as the knife was slowly drawn from her stomach.  He backhanded her across the cheek, and she was flung backwards as her captives let her go.  Weak from her wound, she was unable to get back up and defend herself as his boot stomped down on stomach making he scream in pain.  Grabbing her hair, he pulled, dragging her across the floor and pulling hard, crashing her into tables and chairs and anything else that would harm her.  Finally making it across the room to the stairs, he stopped dragging her and picked her up by her hair.  Zelda did not scream, she faced what would likely be her death with as much confidence as she faced every challenge in her life.  The door to the jail cells was not somewhere that could be opened yet, she still had a job to do, and she would damned if she was going to let this piece of shit ruin Diomeds plans.

Thrashing with as much strength as she could muster, she tore free from the grip he had on her, her hair being torn from her scalp as she did so.  Getting free meant she hit the ground with a loud thud, and the blood oozing from her abdomen poured onto the floor around her.  Another kick caught her in the ribs and she doubled over, curled up into the fetal position.  The door opened up and she was dragged from her position on the floor by her hair once more, and she was thrown down the stairs into the darkness, her body bouncing with sickening thuds each time she collided with one of the sandstone stairs.  Darkness engulfed her and she came to rest at the bottom of the stairs.

Diomed looked up as the sound of the doorway greeted him.  What was it this time?  Time for his execution perhaps?  No; Gallows herself would have come for him, not just sent her ANBU to deal with it, and he would have recognized her presence, as she made him sweat any time she was in his presence.  This was different.  It took him a moment, but since he had become quite accustomed to the darkness, he was able to see the little girl crouched at the base of the stairs trying to see in the darkness to find out what was down here.  Was this it?  Was this the rescue team that he had asked for?  Where was Zelda?  Where were the other two?  Where were the team of ninja that he had been expecting to come break him out.  There was a commotion upstairs, and the Kaguya assumed that the rest were up there, and this little girl had been sent to break him out.  

Laying on his side with his hands bound behind his back, he shifted his body, making a little bit of noise that she would notice.

"Is this my rescuer I see?  The keys are on the wall in front of you "

The grin on his bloodied face grew greatly and he was quite pleased that someone had come, even if it was a child, there was still hope for him.  The commotion grew louder and he grew worried, it was not exactly wise to start a fight in the midst of the ANBU headquarters, there were a lot of them, and although they had become over-saturated and not all of them were skilled, there were still quite a few of them with powerful talents.  The faster the girl got the keys and let him out of the cell and bondage, the faster they could escape and travel back to the safety of his den.  If there was a rescue happening here, it meant that there was the robbery in the desert happening too, and Gallows would soon come for him herself.  With the team and the equipment on his side, her fall was soon to happen, and his ascension to the seat of Kazekage was not far off.  From cage to Kage, it would be quite a transition.  

The door at the top of the stairs opened again though, and it was too late for her to go for the keys.  Eyes widening, he lost his grin and hissed at the child.

"Hide, now!"

As the body of his best agent tumbled down the stairs, he barred his teeth in anger and fear, knowing that without her, the plan would be a lot harder to pull off.  She was powerful and smart, a combination he rarely came across.  If the girl was smart she would hide behind some of the boxes used for storage and not come out until all ANBU presence was clear.  The blonde came to rest at the bottom of the stairs and Diomed felt the anger in his heart rising as the slow steps of the ANBU who had done this followed.  It was not often that he felt like needing to harm someone, but the moment the smug but quite beaten face of the ANBU who had done this came into view, the Kaguya male felt the urge to pull his eyes from his skull.  The shinobi looked quite pleased with himself as he kicked the unconscious body of the beautiful blonde, and he stared down the lone prisoner who was glaring at the situation unfolding before him.  The taunting look that the man possessed made his anger growl from within.

"Well look who it is, recognize this pretty lady?"

Diomed realized he may have been wearing his heart on his sleeve, and his angered expression quickly softened and he pretended to sneeze.  

"All I see is a monkey with a new toy, I've never seen her in my life, but I had suspected that you weaklings needed to beat up girls to get your kicks"

Obviously the ANBU was not as impressed with his quick wit as Diomed was, and he stood up from his kneeled position by Zelda and walked over to the cell.

"You think you're funny?  You traitorous piece of shit, you're nothing more than dirt, if Gallows was not so desperate to make a show of having an army of shinobi, your pathetic excuse for a body would not be here"

Diomed grinned wider.  It made sense that her need to inflate the numbers of her Shinobi was the reason he had not been killed, and he was glad that he had learned that.  Gallows was afraid of something and had been putting up a front in order to deter something; after all, a village with a massive amount of Shinobi was not a village that other villages would attempt to invade, but it usually allowed the Kage to have a greater say in any Kage gatherings to speak of what should happen in the world.  Gallows was a fantastic poker player, and he was very disappointed that he had not managed to figure that one out on his own, especially when it was a  relatively simple reason.  Here he had been wondering why, and the answer had been staring him in the face.  Now he needed to try and talk his way out of this situation, and hopefully keep everyone alive.

"Maybe so, but thankfully I'm not you"

The ANBU spat on him, and he recoiled, but smirked and laughed again after, knowing that the irate ninja was not allowed to harm him without Gallows permission.  He walked over to Zelda and ripped her shirt off, revealing her tanned skin and black sports bra.  This made Diomed nervous, but he did not show, he merely watched with interest through.  The wound in her stomach glistened in the dim light from the frosted window at he back, it was barely visible, but the Kaguya was able to see it and he had to take a deep breath to keep his cool.  There was no way that she was going to walk away from that wound if they did not get her out of here and to a healer immediately.  The ANBU took his bloodied knife out, then stared at the prisoner, who was looking at the crimson coated knife with fear behind his arrogant smirk.  The piece of steel was driven between her breasts and the body jerked, her last breath drawn in sharply before death claimed her.  The anger that coursed through his veins made him dizzy, but it took all of his energy to maintain the grin as he watched his most faithful die before him.  Sickness claimed him, and the dizziness turned to nausea.

"Looks like we have one less pest to deal with, now we'll take care of her little sister"

Diomed had not realized that Zelda had a little sister.  In fact he realized that he knew nearly nothing about her, and the sickness was barely contained any longer as the anger within him made the room spin.  The little girl must have been her sister, and she had been so intent on saving the life of her bossman that she had brought in her family.  Zelda would be avenged, and the Kaguya was going to make sure that the scarfaced asshole would pay in a way that the blonde would have liked best.  Through slow and painful torture.  The ANBU member wiped his blade on her body and spat on her lifeless corpse before turning and walking back up the stairs, leaving the little girl hiding, and leaving the future Kazekage to stew in his own violent thoughts and near debilitating rage.  Once the back was turned, his grin fell and his teeth were barred, his body shook with anger and his face twisted into a tortured and silent scream.  Revenge would be swift and as terrifying as the end of the world.

Amira began to realize where she was. The dark prison was ominous to say the least. She looked about for something, what had Zelda wanted her to do. She tried to let her eyes adjust in the dimly lit room. There was light, but not much. She realized that there were no guards luckily. She sighed as she slowly stepped into the room quietly. She slowly began walk out of the entrance when she heard a voice ring out in the quasi-silence.

"Is this my rescuer I see? The keys are on the wall in front of you "

She quickly realized that she was needed for whatever it was that the voice demanded she get. Zelda wanted her to free this man whoever he was. She quietly got into the cat stance and quietly began to walk towards the keys. She was almost a meter in front of them in the few seconds it took to quietly glide over to where they were located on the wall indicated by the voice. She was now with in Arms reach of the keys. She slowly caressed the cool metal in her bare hands as pulled them from the wall. It was about that time that Amira heard the door upstairs quickly open in a ragged manner. She began to panic. What do I do? she asked herself as she heard the voice exclaim quickly in the darkness,

"Hide,Now!"

Amira quickly began to look for hiding spots as the foot steps slowly grew louder and louder. They also seemed followed by what sounded like a sack of potatoes. She quickly thought out how she was going to hide and preformed the Shinjuu Zanshu no Jutsu that Kesuma had taught her many months ago. She dug into the earth with a combination of Taijutsu strength and doton prowess. She felt the cool earth surround her as she slowly sank down into the quiet earth. The vibrations of the footsteps were all that Amira could sense in the utter blackness. She visualized formless beings based on the vibrations she felt. The first pair that drug the sack with him dropped it square on the floor right before what appeared to be another set of vibrations. The sack gave off a feint heart beat which was extremely odd. She felt as the hearts vibrations slowly came to a stop. Who was that? she asked herself as she thought about popping out of the ground. Was it Zelda with the fellow she had stuck in the face? She could not tell who was who at this point. She then felt the footsteps vibrate towards the other direction towards the stairs. The vibrations began to fade as the ascended out of the dark dungeon. She then pulled herself out of the ground to find Zelda half naked and surrounded by a pool of blood. 

"Oh God..."

Amira said as a tear welled up in her eye. She was such a powerful women who should not be laying there dead. She thought about how she too would end up just like poor Zelda, Dead. She sighed trying to keep her composure. Sucking her tear up she slowly approached Diomed' s prison. She looked down as Zelda one last time and thought of Zelda's own words "Don't look back..." They echoed in her head as she slowly walked towards the cage with the key she had just capture. 

"I hope you were worth it..." 

She muttered in a nonchalant manner as she unlocked the door. She was beginning to understand why her father carried that facial expression so often. As a ninja there was normally nothing to smile about. She slowly turned the metal key in the door expecting the lock to click open as she turned it slowly. She entered the prison and quickly pulled on of her bladed kunai out from the back slot of her vest. She slowly approached the disgusted looking future kazekage. He was worth it, she thought in her head as she thought of the freedom he would bring to the village. She softly began to cut his binds with her blade as he stood there entrapped in the prison.

"so Bossman, ready get the hell out of her?"

She said thinking of Zelda as she said the phrase Bossman. That is what she called this fellow so it only seemed appropriate to call him that. She finally got through the bindings with a silent snap. She sighed as she stood up from the hopefully now freed Diomed. She looked back at the body of Zelda one last time from the cell. The dim light flushed of there tanned body making her seem almost ghostly. I'll be joining you one day, Amira thought hoping it wasn't going to be anytime soon.

Diomed barely registered the opening cage, but as the small girl descended on him to cut his bindings, one word made it through his enraged state. He closed his eyes and let out a deep breath as the bondage was broken, and his right hand seized her by the chin, not with intent to harm, but hard enough to make her very uncomfortable in his grasp. He opened his soft blue eyes and stared at her own. There was only one person he allowed to call him bossman, and he had just watched her life be removed from her beautiful body. If this little girl wished to be more like Zelda, then he was sure that he could do something in order to make her a little more like the brazen one eyed former ANBU. It was a struggle for him to speak for the first time in a long time, the words seemed caught in his throat.

"I..."

He blinked as he looked at her, the darkness made it a lot easier to mistake the small girl for Zelda, especially in his current mind set. Starved for days and hidden in a deep darkness with no hope other than his most faithful. The most faithful that had been removed from him. His grip on her face would tighten.

"If you want to be like her... Maybe we should do something about one of those little brown eyes..."

On his left hand, his fingers twitched as though he was going to pluck the eye from her head, but he closed his eyes again and shook his head, his right hand releasing her face. There would be red marks on her face from his tight grip, but there would be no lasting damage. Diomed had lost himself for a moment, and he felt very uncomfortable and weak, a shining moment of humanity in the mind of a man who thought himself quite immortal. Clambering to his knees, he stood up, feeling the ache of his body from being able to move for the first time in what had felt like months. In reality it had been mere days, but when there is no real light that allowed a person to see if it was day or night; it is hard for a mind to grasp the concept of time. It may also be hard for a little girl to understand the madness of a mans mind, she would be shaken by his actions.

"I apologize, I lost myself, but you're right, we need to escape"

Diomed felt too weak to be able to break through a bunch of ANBU, and far too weak for him to be able to bust through the wall.  He had none of his equipment either, which made things even harder for him.  If the little girl had anything they could use it would be amazing, but it would be just his luck if she did not.  He moved over to Zeldas corpse.  Even in death she was still remarkably beautiful, and it pained him to see her here, beyond his reach.  His plans darkened the moment that he saw the the knife slip into her body, and now there was not only going to be a coup, there was going to be a massacre.  Each ANBU was going to have a price on their head, and he was going to completely reset the village.  The only ones left would be the ones that followed him, and from the ground he would rebuild, it was going to be glorious.  Escape was the first step of this new world though, and he needed help.  Not facing the little girl, he spoke:

"I don't suppose you have any exploding tags or bombs of anything?"

Using enough tags, he could have probably rid himself of the ANBU infestation right then and there; but how was he going to prove who was faithful and who deserved to die if there were no tests for them to pass?  

[Tetsu]

Amira was shocked at how quickly the seemingly depraved man really could move. She had only just freed him when she felt a hand grasp just under her chin around her neck. His grip was not strangling, but was definitely uncomfortable. Amira wrapped her little hands around his trying to free herself from his manly grip. Amira felt like she had made a mistake by saying one of Zelda's phrases just after her death. She looked at the man with a look of nonchalance across her scar covered face. She decided that if he was going to kill her than that would be that. Living was too much work anyway honestly. She coughed as his grip began to tighten round her neck. She wondered if this was similar to what the neck binding felt like, slowly leaching away the sweet life bringing air. looked him dead in the face not wanting to look away from her possible killer. She had a hunch that he wouldn't go through with it. She quietly gasped for air as she heard him say.

"I..."

This man was obviously confused. He was strangling someone who obviously wanted to help after all. She continued to maintain her unfazed poise as she felt the man's grip tightened around her neck. She sighed as she felt her airway constrict. She coughed and gasped for air. She felt her vision blur as she was held in place by this unknown man. She was going to save him either way. Amira knew that people normally doubted her because of her young age, but she was more valuable than many people though. She was worthy of serving this man, just as Zelda had. She was willing to give her life for the sake of the village. Zelda proved that with her sacrifice. She may not have known her well, but she would do her best to avenge her fellow sand shinobi. That was the Suna way after all. We protect our own, no matter how vile they may be. She thought as Her future Kazekage strangled her in the dark basement of the AMBU headquarters.

"If you want to be like her... Maybe we should do something about one of those little brown eyes..."

She heard him say as she struggled to get free. This really alarmed her, but showing fear was not how she would survive. She knew what he meant, remembering Zelda's eye patch. "Patchy" she thought to herself as she felt him slowly release her throat. She all of a sudden realized how much she must have meant to this guy, and how much he much Zelda must have valued this prisoner.

"I'm sorry...she must have meant a lot you you."

Amira said quietly rubbing her neck. She all of a sudden felt sorry for this weak man who may have just watched the love of his life fade into oblivion. She kept her nonchalant facial expression as he turned away from her and asked about her having explosive tags. She all of a sudden remembered to check her vest that she always kept stocked. The back pouches held her kunai knives and a bundle of wire that may come in hand if they needed to scale anything. She felt about the two front pockets and found nothing of interest. She opened one of her breast scroll pouches and pulled out a bundle of explosive tags bundled together in one bundle. She sighed at the fact that she only had 80 of them. She didn't know if they would be enough honesty. The small red tags with chakra sealant writing on it may not be enough for their escape. She slowly offered up her bundle asking.

"Will these do?"

She let her question ring for a bit as she began to wonder. Would they ever escape? Amira looked down at the body of Zelda and sighed at how graceful she looked in death. Amira hoped that she too house as much courage as Zelda had in her last few moments. Leaving all her faith with Amira. Freeing this man was Zelda's last wish she thought going back to the moment when Zelda rushed her to the dark basement. Don't look back, she heard her words echo through her memory. She looked up at the now freed Diomed expectantly. Did he have an escape plan? or would Amira have to "play chess" with AMBU in order to escape. She thought long and hard about all the things she knew about the few members she had encountered. Obviously they would be looking for her and seeing their freed prisoner would hint of to the fact that something was afoot. She needed some time to think of a strategy she thought as she extended her exploding tags to Diomed.

Infused with chakra, they will explode after a set amount of time, remotely, or after being ignited by flame. The tags can be attached to a surface or wrapped around a weapon to be thrown at an enemy.

Description: Paper that is 2 inches by 6 inches in size and 0.039" (1 mil) thick. These papers are exploding tags that are able to harm and kill opponents or just simply explode within a certain radius. They can be placed on targets, wrap around a weapon, or even thrown at opponents. Tags have a killing diameter of 1 meter, and a wounding diameter of 2 meters. Tags can be activated to explode within 6 seconds, or by a simple technique. May be attached to 3 items without taking up room in a single slot.

As the small girl took the bundle from her jacket, he was impressed, and quite satisfied that out of all things, Zelda and her girls had managed to find people that were at least prepared to deal with this situation.  Just the thought of her actions made the emptiness in his chest draw his breath away from him.  The tags were a great start, but he could not use them himself, as he lacked the ability to control chakra at all, so he would just have to tell her where to put them, and then they would have to hope for the best.  By now the ANBU upstairs were probably realizing that the little girl that had been brought in was now missing, and it would not be long before they came down stairs and realized that the number one prisoner had been removed and was trying to escape.  Between the two of them, it was safe to say that if they were discovered; they were going to be overwhelmed.  He was exhausted and damn near dead, and she was a little girl that had not gathered the seriousness of the situation she was putting herself in.  

"Give one to me, then put one on the wall back there under the heating vent, I can't use these, so you're going to have to pull the trigger when I say, okay?"

If possible, he really wanted to avoid talking about how he was unable to use chakra, as it was not exactly the easiest thing to explain to people, especially not under these circumstances.  After she would give him one of the tags, he would carefully walk up a couple of the steps before standing on his tip toes and sticking it to the sand stone ceiling.  It was annoying that he was going to have to do this to some buildings that he was going to own, but it was the only way he could really get out of here without probably getting recaptured.  After the tag was solid on the ceiling, he took a moment to catch his breath.  He had been laying on the cold floor so long that the merest of activity was enough to wind him.  His training was going to be harsh when he was free of all this.  There was a lot of work he needed to catch up on, and luckily he would have quite a few punching bags to let his anger out on, especially that rat that had killed Zelda.  If he made it through this alive, Diomed was going to have a whale of a time restructuring his face.

Once the girl had done her side, he would beckon to her, summoning her once more to the middle of the room, where he would explain the plan.  

"They'll be down the moment the first tag goes off; I'd do this myself, but we can't, so you're going to have to stick around with me, and activate the tag when they start coming down the stairs.  If we're lucky, it will kill enough of them to force them to look after the dead, the rest will have to wait their turn..."

Musi looked around, his face cut up and his mood quite dissatisfied with how his lazy afternoon had turned out.  That crazy bitch Zelda had always been a pain in his ass when she had been part of ANBU, and he was glad to be rid of her, especially when he knew it was going to get him in Gallows good books, since she was rewarding people pretty heavily for killing dissidents and thugs.  If they weren't killed, they joined ANBU at least.  Even before he was ANBU, when he was a kid in the alleys, that girl had always been a bitch, her death was nothing to lose, and that monkey behind the bars that the big boss wanted to kill so bad was an asshole too.  If it were up to him, the blonde would have been gutted right next to his skanky girlfriend.  There was just a stupid kid left to kill, and people were looking for her now.  Kid was apparently pretty good at hiding, she was holding her own with an entire department of ANBU searching for her.  Sure, these guys were all pretty low ranked, but hiding from all of them was impressive.  Must have been trained as a Shinobi.  Least nothing got past him...  His thoughts whirred for a moment.  

"She couldn't be in the basement..."

His big, dumb, ugly face turned and looked at the door.  Was he stupid enough to have not investigated the basement when there had been two foreign shinobi in his midst.  One of them claiming to be Zeldas sister?  The blood drained from his face so fast he felt quite light headed.  His hands trembled as he reached towards the handle of the door, and the click of the door opening made his skin crawl.  As the light would shine down the wall, visible to the pair in the basement, Diomed would snap his fingers and the tag that had been stuck to the wall by the little girl would be ignited, and the roar of the explosion would inform all of the ANBU in the building that there was a breakout attempt, and it was rapidly moving from attempt to success.  Musi was the first to begin to sprint down the stairs, and when the second tag erupted in a glorious explosion, his eyes were locked square onto those of the blonde male, whose cold and murderous smile was the last sight he would ever experience as the flames licked his skin, boiled his blood, and the pressure of the tag exploding directly above his head tore his body to pieces and brought down tonnes of sandstone on top of him and the fools behind him.  

[Tetsu]

Amira nodded knowing better than to ask question the serious look on Diomed's face. She sighed as she took gave him all of the tags he needed. She would need to be convicted if she was going to help this man that Zelda believed so strongly in. She took her bundle and began to walk over towards the heating vent that Diomed ha pointed out. She observed it a little bit before taking the tag and placing it under the heater like he had instructed. She looked back at the cold expression on the man's face as she rubbed her scar covered nose. She closed her dark brown eyes and quickly ran back over to Diomed, stuffing the remaining tags back into her vest's breast pocket to the left. She looked back at him as he waved his hand, indicating that Amira should come to the middle to preform her bit. She prepared the technique in her head, memorizing what she needed to do in order to detonate the tags when Diomed gave the word. She slowed her breathing and relaxed as she looked back at her Kazekage.

"ready for action sir."

She said nodding her head to let him know that she was convicted to the deed. She realized that if she were caught by the ANBU she was basically dead anyway. Might as well go out with a bang. She heard a subtle snap from Diomed just as the first tag detonated. The explosion blasted a good portion of the wall. She prepared herself to kill, which wasn't something she did everyday. Amira didn't like taking lives, but sometimes it was need for survival and for the greater good. She watched the flames of the first explosion blast out creating a loud shock wave of sound. If that didn't get their attention, than they were unworthy of the title ANBU She silently waited for the impending approach of the ANBU agents. She watched the stairs like she had been instructed. Slowly she began to notice the first light from the upper levels shine down the stairs. Wait for it...Amira thought as she began to hear foot steps rushing down into the basement along with them.

She watched as the first ANBU member came into view. She looked at the fellow that Zelda had struck earlier looking at him with an emotionless scowl that matched that of her father Etsu's. She focused her chakra on the tag while holding the ram causing it to ignite which would cause it to detonate. She looked at the fear that engulfed the man's face as the bright explosion engulfed his body. The shock of the explosion must have killed him instantly because his screams were muffled out as his body blasted out into a splatter of pressurized mush. Amira had never killed someone like that before. Guilt began to wash over her as the ceiling began to fall down on top of the now dismembered man and his comrades. She felt dizzy from the experience, but told herself that it needed to be done. They needed to die for the village to survive she told herself looking back at Diomed. The violent look on his face told her that he was pleased with his handy work.

"what now?"

She asked quietly going looking up at Diomed. She didn't know who he was, yet she was knew that he could be trusted. Though he was violent, he also cared to some degree about those that held loyalty to him. She found that aspect of her rescued prisoner admirable. She waited for his response, ready to take any order he would give her. She was a tool to a degree, Ready to be used by her Kazekage. Zelda's dreams for this man would not die in vain. Amira would ensure that with everything she had.

Drawback: User may perform this technique once per tag unless user utilizes more chakra. For every tag the user wishes to detonate the user must hold onto the ram handseal for an extra handseal movement. If user wishes to detonate 30 tags the user must hold onto the seal for 30 handseal movements.
Description: Utilizing chakra, the user is able to activate the explosion mechanism of a distant explosive tags. User focuses the chakra to a nearby tag and detonates it. User must put a piece of chakra into their tag first before detonating. User is unable to detonate tags that is not theirs.
Limit: An academy Jutsu that all is capable of performing if they wish to do so.

The only real issue he had with the situation was that he would never get the chance to beat the scar faced fucker to death himself. The rage had not subsided, but the adrenaline was surging through his body and he almost wanted to stay around and beat up some of his captors, but that was never going to end well. As the small girl looked up to him, questioning what they were going to do next, he was tempted to tell her they were going to stand and fight, but his plans did not involve him dying here, so he needed to get that lust for revenge out of his mind. Instead; Diomed seized the girl by the waist, and Zeldas body in the other arm, and turned around on a dime, then burst out of the prison through the hole in the wall and the ceiling, as the rubble had been thrown outwards and onto the street.

"We run!"

Although he may have been exhausted, the Kaguya was was still a powerful man, and his genetic disposition towards being a rapid healer only served to keep him able to do things like this even after having been trapped and starved for so long. The combined weight of the two girls was barely noticeable to him, and he was able to maneuver through the streets very quickly an get into one of the allies between two buildings near the headquarters. They were going to need to be extra vigilant now; ANBU would be crawling all over the city, and they were not exactly a pair that fit into the crowd, especially when there was a body slung under the arm of a very tall, very gaunt looking blonde. Letting the girl down, he rested against the wall. That was the most he had moved in a while, and the action of doing so was quite exhausting. Out of the corner eye, he gazed at the girl.

"Who are you anyway? How did you get mixed up in all this?"

His breathing was quite shallow still; his stomach growled intensely and he felt the stiffness slowing his movements. He doubted the ANBU would check the immediate area of the building, but they needed to get inside. The lights of the building behind them were off, and he could hear nothing happening inside. If they broke in, they could probably hide out inside for a while. After the girl answered, he would break the handle of the door and they would sneak inside to wait out the ANBU for a while, they needed to hideout until the inauguration began, then they would ambush Gallows at the tower with whoever else Zelda had hired, and hopefully there would be enough firepower between them to take her down. Her head would roll at her own inauguration.

[Tetsu]

Amira looked up at Diomed as harsh rubble began to settle around them. The mix of stone dust and bloody mist. She coughed abit as the settling matter began to coat the floor. She looked up at the muscular man with content. She watched his angry facial expression as he looked at the mess they had created. She asked her question and looked up at him quietly waiting for his response. Instead he did something she had not expected. He scooped her up and carried her. The muscular fellow also grabbed Zelda's body, which to Amira proved that she had been important to this man. He carried Amira thought hole in the wall, running out into the street beside the ANBU command building. She looked up at the man carrying her as he finally responded to her question.

"We run!"

She heard him exclaim as he continued to carry her through the street. Well you think, Amira thought as she thought about the situation that they were in. ANBU agents were most likely already looking for a man of Diomed's description and a little girl about her size. The dead body he was carrying was obviously going to give them away. She looked about nervously as the man placed her back on the ground. She looked up at his expectantly. What was the plan, I mean just breaking out obviously would not be enough. She sighed as she began to prepare herself. She took out a pair of her blades, and attached two explosive tags onto the tail end. She might need them later after all. She looked up at Diomed in a nonchalant manner as she heard him ask her a question. She listened and responded honestly as she could.

"I'm Amira Nara, and I was basically kidnapped for this."

She said in her common place sarcastic manner. She unzipped her vest and pointed at the family crest that resided on the back of the dark sand color vest. She sighed as his body language began to express fatigue. She watched as he tiredly busted the handle on the door before them. She really didn't like breaking into peoples shops and homes. She sighed at how much of a pain this was. She followed him into the shop and began to go to work. She took the on of the kunai out from the back of her vest and held it face down in her right hand. She relaxed and got into the cat stance standing on her toes for pure silence. She looked over at diomed as he quitely as her scared face remained unfazed and nonchalant. She quickly devised her next question.

"who are you exactly, I'm not quite sure who you are?"

She asked quietly out of pure curiosity. They had almost been killed together, and she did not know his name. She thought that knowing that she may be dead in the next few hours. She sighed rubbing the back of her neck as she looked up at the muscular blonde. She waited for his response as they sat in the room, waiting for their next move. Unknown to Amira she was going to be part of a much bigger plan. She would be assisting an usurper who would be the savior of the village that she loved so dearly.

Diomed had brought the body of Zelda to the table and lay it to rest there. There was not much he could do with it now, there was no way he was going to be able to bury her, and the heat was still too intense to try and take her somewhere else. For now, they were stuck here, but at least the girl seemed pretty level headed about things. Her name was Amira, and she was a Nara. The Kaguya was not completely familiar with their practices, all he knew was that they possessed the ability to manipulate shadows or something along those lines. Theirs was a family that had a reputation all around the world. Though he had never seen one in action, tales were certainly common about Nara thieves in the desert merchant camps. Interesting talents they possessed, and it would surely come in handy in the day to come, so she would be quite important for him to keep around.

"Kidnapped huh? Yeah, that sounds like Zelda, but you lucked out kid, once I'm in charge, I'll reward my followers well, or my name isn't Diomed Rhaksha, and don't you forget it"

Normally with such an introduction, his grin would have been as wide as ever, but the blood on his hands was something that washed away any feelings other than anger in his heart. It would take a while for that mischievous grin to once more split the face of the tall blonde. He rested his head against the cool sandstone wall of the kitchen they were standing in. Diomed felt quite sick with the loss, and he was angry that he was showing it, though if he had been in a better mind, he would have been thankful that the only witness was a rather emotionally stunted young girl, who did not seem to care one way or another about what was happening to her apparently. Kidnapped and turned into an enemy of the country, it was a heavy burden.

"We'll wait it out here for a while, if anyone comes home, catch them and keep them quiet, till I say, we're staying in here, now go find something to entertain yourself with"

The Kaguya began to search through the cupboards around the kitchen, looking for food. He wanted something heavy with protein, because his muscles would have felt the deterioration while he was locked in that cage, and that was not what a master of the Taijutsu arts ever wanted to happen. There were almonds, which were a good start, but there was not much else of use for him. Scoffing those down, he washed them down with a large bowl of water, draining it and then refilling it as fast as possible to get something in his system. After nearly throwing up from drinking so much water, his sights were set upon the refrigerator, which opened to reveal lots of cured meats and sandwich materials, which he got to work on, and had built himself a monster of a manwich in moments, and dove into it like a vulture on a corpse. This was the fanciest he had eaten in a while. And the most.

[Tetsu]

What a day this has been, Amira thought quietly to herself as Diomed gently placed Zelda's still corpse. She sighed thinking of the valiant woman's death. He better be worth it. She looked up at the blood stained hands that had at one point had been wrapped around her throat. She held her nonchalant look as she quietly closing the door as they made themselves at home at someone's expense. Sighing, she realized that Diomed probably had not been treated very well in that basement. His ever current angry expression concerned her, but she could understand with his great loss. His anger would inevitably become her task. Conviction was all she could promise as they moved forward with whatever it is he would have her do. She had been selected for this task out of all the others that had consigned to take part in this act of rebellion. The little Nara would make her clan worth remembering. She listened to him introduce himself as Diomed. Obviously he was energetic, but he had an air about him that just leadership material. She would be part of putting this man on top. For the good of her people.

"well at least we know who each other are now."

She said in a very monotone fashion. Though this rebellion was just, that didn't make it any less of a pain. She sighed and began to do as he asked she looked through the house for something to do, while she guarded the door. Picking though bookshelves and cupboards, she found a book worth reading "Chess, a guide to mastery." She picked through the book quickly naming each maneuver that the book listed. She wasn't really interested in the book, but it gave her something to do She leaned against the cool sandstone wall and read quietly as she heard some rummaging about beside her in the kitchen. Chess moves flowed through her mind like realistic tactics on the battle field. Her mind was moving at a mile a minute as she began to grow bored with the 58 page book that she had already analyzed.

"soooo...do you play chess at all?"

She asked the grown man as he scarfed down a huge meaty sandwich. He deserved it after all he had been thorough. She listened to him chew as she waited for a response. She closed up her book and placed on the counter under the cupboards. She sighed as her stomach growled sublimely as she began to look for something that would satisfy her little Nara belly. She looked through the cupboards for a something she could easily eat quickly. Glancing over towards the fridge that Diomed now occupied Amira quickly shuffled over to the open icebox and grabbed a fresh looking pear that was sitting on the top shelf. She kept her straight face as she looked over at her now freed leader making a quick comment. "What a pain..." she muttered going back to the wall as she took a big bite out of her newly attained snack.

[Tetsu]

Amira suddenly came to realize how sever the situation truly was. Was freedom worth such atrocity. She looked across at the fairly now safe Diomed and nodded. He things would be safer if he stayed on the down Low anyway. Choosing to rather avoid being penalized, Amira hopped down from the counter. "I'm sorry for your lose, just stay safe." She said walking out into the open street. Quickly turning the corner she began to run for safety. My what an experience this had been... [exit due to Prome stepping down, again my condolences dude. I wish you the best]

[Promeleon]

The girl had escaped him, and she would likely go to the authorities or something similar. Though even if she truly was going to allow him his freedom; he felt as though he had lost all the edge he had when Zelda was taken from him. The exhausting days of being caged, and the loss of the blonde had infected his mind with a disease. Doubt had slowly crawled into him at some point during his incarceration, and it had slowly been eating away at his will until he was now here, with a heart gripped by sheer terror at his plans. The powerful overconfidence that he exuded had left him, and he was quite appalled. A man who strove to be charmingly perfect had erred, and now he was learning from it, learning many things from it. Whether or not Gallows going to have his head was not of consequence. He was going into hiding once again, and when things cooled down, he would reveal himself to the city again under a new guise.

No, a guise would be to admit he was afraid. Certainly he would hide. He would grow stronger until he could act out and take his rightful place atop the throne of the village. When he was in command, and he possessed the powers of the Kazekage, things would be easy, and he could live life without any cares. His work would be done by his inferiors, and he would simply be a figurehead who simply had to flex his muscle every once in a while to put on a show. His legs ached less and his body felt invigorated as this second wind pushed through his body, as his genes were finally keeping up with his confidence. Zelda. Poor Zelda. She would need a proper burial, though it was sad he needed to do so in the darkness and confusion he had wrought. At some point he would carve her name into the obelisk in the center of the village, it was only fair. The only true change in him was that he would never again allow the defacement of the icon.
