name: Cedany Abel bloodlimit: Kaishin height: five feet weight: one hundred eighteen pounds age: twenty-three gender: female alignment: neutral good birth country: thunder village: snow special: ninjutsu master |
appearance
For a grown woman, Cedany is quite petite and can easily be mistaken for younger than she actually is. Five foot even is how tall she stands and because of that she’s on the light side, her build slender. She doesn’t have a particularly large bust, filling a B cup nicely, and her waist is thin as well. While she does have some curves, they’re a bit on the subtle side. Her skin is on the pale side and smooth, her features soft and feminine similar to a lot of her bloodline. While she does have muscles from her training, they’re toned and defined more than anything. With a heart-shaped face, her jawline is quite angular and she has a somewhat pointed chin. Her forehead is a bit large as well, which is the main reason why she keeps bangs to cover it up. Cedany has a button nose and her lips are on the thin side. Large, olive green (almost hazel) eyes are accented by naturally thick lashes, and while they’re usually not visible, she has somewhat thin and curved eyebrows above them. Her cheeks are somewhere half between sunken and full, adding to the angular shape of the lower portion of her face.
Light brown, naturally straight hair hands from atop her head. Regularly she washes it to keep the brunette locks smooth and soft to the touch, brushing it often for that same reason to keep it from tangling. While she does care about her appearance enough to do that much, she doesn’t really bother with styling her hair, so it tends to sometimes be a bit frizzy and even messy. It’s quite long as well, the longest strands reaching all the way down to her naval. The bangs nearly touch her eyes as well, she keeps them just short enough to not get in the way. Most of the time she keeps her hair down, but she keeps ties on her just in case she does need to tie it back to keep it from getting in the way.
Despite living in such a harsh and cold place, it’s actually quite rare for Cedany to wear proper winter clothing. Thanks to some training she did in her bloodline she doesn’t really need warm clothing, it’s only when she’s trying to mask her abilities that she bothers. Her usual outfit consists of a pair of short shorts and a T-shirt, which would appear very civilian if it wasn’t for her wearing it out in the blistering clothes. If she has weapons or other gear on her, they tend to give it away as well. Not to mention her Yukigakure headband, which she generally ties around her right thigh- a dead giveaway of her profession.
When the young woman is trying to conceal her bloodline, she bundles up. Cardigans are a favorite since she can simply wear them over her usual shirts, then she wears thick wool leggings and knee high boots. In either her usual or cold weather clothes, she favors neutral colors with a splash of color usually in some sort of accessory. Whether it be bracelets, a necklace, scarf, or whatever else she puts on, it has some sort of color to be more interesting than just neutrals alone.
personality
The kunoichi has changed a lot since she became a genin, no longer the hot headed and careless little thing she used to be. Along the way she lost her innocence and idealism, now far more serious and certainly more respective of authority. While she’s still good at heart, the woman isn’t as rebellious as she had once been. She’s seen too much, been far too close to death, to think that she knows better than her superiors. Given, it wasn’t her life that had been at risk, but honestly she scares herself sometimes with how instinctively she moves to kill the bad guys rather than apprehend them because it’s easier and safer. While Cedany has become jaded, she’s not completely numb either. The woman will not bend easily to another’s will unless they’re a higher rank- and even then if it conflicts too much with her own somewhat skewed morals, she’ll likely resist. Sure she’d go along with killing bandits or something else she views as evil, but she wouldn’t want to lay a finger on civilians or other innocents. It’s rare that she really digs her heels in on something, but she can be incredibly stubborn when she really wants to be.
Never has she been the shy sort, but the woman is certainly on the reserved side. Cedany has no problems with talking with others, but she tends to be direct and doesn’t beat around the bush and be all flowery before getting to her point. Sometimes she seems a bit distant, like she doesn’t want to be associated with the majority of the populous. It’s untrue, the brunette simply likes to be alone quite a lot to reflect on things and simply think. She’s on the quiet side, but that doesn’t mean that she’d prefer solitude all of the time.
Likely the largest thing that the woman has kept through the years has been her sense of independence. Even when on teams, she always felt better working on her own- it certainly helped that she seemed to get better results alone as well. If assigned to a team she wouldn’t refuse to work with them, but most of the time she feels as if they’re a hindrance since her priority shifts to keeping them safe rather than focusing on whatever her assignment is. Of course she’ll try her best to get the job done, but she values the lives of her comrades more than missions.
Random acts of kindness are quite common for Cedany to commit, whether it be picking up litter or fighting off attackers to save a stranger. There have been times where she volunteered for various community service programs as well, when she wasn’t too busy with training to better her skills. The young lady likes being nice to people for the satisfaction she feels from helping, even when no thanks are given or they don’t even know what she did (such as anonymously returning a lost or stolen item). In fact she doesn’t even like the attention, just knowing that she did the right thing is enough for her.
history
Within a small nameless village in Kaminari no Kuni, Cedany came into being in the safety of a farmhouse on the outskirts of the community. Being the first born of their children, her parents were overprotective of her and pampered their ‘little girl’. They all had enjoyed the simple life on the farm; her mother especially detested violence and tried to keep her daughter out of it as well. Unfortunately for the woman, she had always been a bit of a troublemaker and even started fights with those of her age on more than a few occasions. Due to this, her parents choose to keep certain information from her until she was older; they worried that she would possibly hurt herself trying to learn anything dangerous. Her mother was a member of the Kaishin while her father was a proficient part of the Nara clan, both of them wanted to keep their offspring away from the dangers of the ninja lifestyle.Their desire had been nothing more than wishful thinking; it was only a matter of time before their daughter learned of her roots. Only a short time after her twelfth birthday, their village had been attacked by a renegade group of bandits, who plundered their home for supplies. Unluckily for the group, they showed up on the wrong doorstep and paid dearly for it- not one of them left that day. Cedany had the opportunity to see her parents fight with a strange fascination despite the gore, the most she cared about was the odd methods they had used to dispatch the men. Despite wanting to keep these things from her, they were practically forced to give the information to their young and curious child. Rather than getting angry at them for not telling her before, she couldn't get past how 'cool' it all was, the small ecstatic girl started looking up to her parents as if they were super heroes.
Being the overprotective parents that they were, the decided that their small family should move somewhere safer, a place that'd be less likely to be attacked by some random people. Wanting to live somewhere less dangerous, their eyes landed on the close island of Yuki no Kuni, the cold country seeming more safe due to its isolation. They wanted to live in a small village again, but Cedany had other plans. Ever since she had seen what they were capable of, she wouldn't stop asking, begging, and pleading with them to let her learn them as well. The young brunette wished to live in Snow's hidden village, there she would have a greater opportunity to learn what her parents knew and more. Now that she had a taste of what the shinobi and kunoichi were capable of, she wanted more regardless of her parents wanting a safer life for her. Danger had always been more appealing to her.
It took some time, but she was eventually able to break her parents down and they moved into Yukigakure with little complications since they were all technically citizens. To her parent's dismay, Cedany was enrolled in the academy there in order to gain knowledge in the world she had only recently discovered. Even though she had suddenly developed the goal of becoming a kunoichi, she still despised sitting in a classroom all day and doing paper work. Although there were times where it was entertaining, but all of the interesting things got her in trouble since they usually involved pulling a harmless prank or making fun of the teacher. During her dull attendance at the academy, her parents reluctantly showed her more of what they could do. It was at this phase of her life that they discovered that she held the same bloodlimit as her mother, which was Kaishin.
Since they were still hoping that their daughter would grow out of the 'ninja phase', they didn't actually teach her any of the jutsu and instead just showed her. As the years passed and she kept up the same passion for becoming a kunoichi, her parents realized that she wasn't just drop the whole thing. They didn't want to deny her leading that type of life even though they didn't want her to, so they started to support her more. Cedany's mother even took the time to teach her the most basic techniques of their clan, thinking that she should at least know that much before heading out into the dangers that she'd undoubtable face. Her father still didn't teach her the techniques from his clan, but he did give her more extensive demonstrations so she could figure out how to do them on her own later on. By the time she graduated from the academy and became a genin, she was sixteen years old and capable of only the academy techniques and the basics that her mother had taken the time to teach her.
