Shunshin no Jutsu - Oshi (Body Flicker Technique - Push)
Rank: "C"
Skill: NinJutsu/TaiJutsu
Effect: A Jutsu that allows a user to rush forward in almost instantaneous speed. Used to draw the user close to the opponent.
Special: ---
Drawback: May use 3 times a day. May perform 1 more each time learned. Passing amount renders the user's legs immobile due to severe pain. Unable to perform again unless gained medical treatment. Must move through an opening. Unable to maneuver around obstructing objects. Can't attack while performing any Shunshin or Variation.
Description: User is able to move forward in a straight line along the ground in almost instantaneous untraceable speed while temporarily masking the user's movements within 10 meters. A puff of smoke is occasionally used to disguise the user's movements. It is accomplished by focusing the user's chi along the ankles and foot. User mostly moves just with their ankles and feet. Jutsu takes up no movements. User may only use this Jutsu half of the movements may allow in a single round while rounding down. Example: User has 5 movements, user is able to perform Jutsu 2 times per round.
Limit: Universal NinJutsu or Universal Taijutsu

When it comes down to it, mobility was the single most important thing in a fight. Well, that and luck. Schatzi had learned that much in her time beneath Iwagakure, in her battle with the lizard woman Karisa. Having proven inferior in both strength and speed, it was a simple fluke that had kept the shapeshifter alive that day. She still remembered clearly that technique the reptile had used to generate instant pressure, placing her on the defensive.
It was only something visible for a split second, but Schatzi was a quick study, so she was confident she could master the trick for herself with a little focus. Perhaps not immediately, considering she had only limited observation and a few theories, but certainly before the examinations to determine whether she was worth promotion. Not that the title meant much to her, but it sounded like a good time, so it would be a shame to be eliminated too early for inadequate preparation.
There was a problem though. Lacking Karisa's physical expertise, she would have to find some way of performing that trick which played more to her strong points. That meant a chakra-based method of acceleration. She mimicked the serpent's pre-battle stance, attempting to gauge how she had been able to move so rapidly from this. It seemed like the hips and knees would go largely unused, preemptively positioned to brace for the stopping point. Which means somehow she was able to launch herself across the distance with only her feet and ankles. Schatzi's motor control wasn't so fine as to be able to do such a thing, even with as much as she knew about humanoid anatomy - and how to dismantle it.
So the main theory was to somehow use her chakra to replicate that effect, perhaps with an explosive burst from the soles of her feet as she moved. But when attempted, the only result was that she fell flat on her face. So either that wasn't it at all, or she was doing it wrong. She generated a thin layer of chakra around her feet next before retrying, in hopes of simply sliding across the ground. This worked better, but the distance was insufficient. She needed to use a stronger burst of movement without using more chakra than absolutely needed.
This was simple enough in theory, but finding the way to do so proved a little more elusive than that. Every time she either didn't go far enough, or didn't go fast enough, and it was rather aggravating to be honest. At least there weren't any more embarrassing stumbles like before, but if she couldn't master this she would be bait for anyone faster than herself. That was unacceptable. She focused, gathering the chakra spread around her feet to a single miniscule point, all but for her toe-tips that she stood upon now. And then released, the burst rocketing her forward as she slid across the ground so fast that she actually vanished from the visible spectrum for an instant. Ten meters later she reappeared. Good. Now to do it again. But first, she funneled a B-ranked amount of chakra to the seal on her forehead.
