Akihiko was a few miles from the gates of Kirigakure, near a small tributary from the main river that ran past the Village. He took a deep breath and exhaled, the scent of humidity, trees, and river cleared his mind for a moment or two. The young genin, resigned to skip the upcoming Chunin Exams, decided to avoid going back to the Village for now. After all, with the excitement the Exams caused, he supposed people would be bustling about more than he was comfortable with.
He hated crowds and preferred to keep to himself most of the time. Making friends, joining in festivities, or even walking down a crowded street was difficult for him. With that fact in mind, Akihiko decided to train out here, for his safety as well as anyone who might be nearby. He opened up a scroll from a compartment in his vest, which had a list of jutsu and techniques he was to learn before returning to his home. Back when he was a captive, he was punished when he failed learning or performing a task. He supposed he could punish himself if he did not learn what he aimed to, but that would require self-mutilation.
The sun was still rising over the horizon, something Akihiko always made sure to wake up to. Oddly, he enjoyed the sunrise- probably because it reminded him that he was free. In the end, it didn't matter. He would probably enjoy it even if it didn't. The genin walked over to a nearby tree, which sat close to the small beach next to the tributary. There, he put his katana and all metal objects on his person. After all, he planned on working on Lightning Release- and since this was to be his first true Lightning technique, he wanted to minimize the risks.
He assumed this technique, when it comes to focusing his chakra, would somehow be similar to the Hidden Mist Jutsu. After all, he used his chakra to help form a mist that reduces visibility to near zero in that technique. This jutsu, while requiring a bit more qualitative focus than quantitative, was similar in that it required him to focus his chakra around himself, fusing it with an element in the process. He sighed and stood away from the tree, but kept his eye on it. If paranoia was worse than theft or death, he'd rather be wrong.
The genin formed the handseals stated, and as he did so, formed chakra around himself. His goal was to form hundreds of the lightning chakra petals. That alone would take up a large amount of focus, not to mention a good portion of his chakra. In order for him to pull it off, he would start small scale and only form a small amount and progress that number as he continued. He began with the initial shape. The jutsu spoke that the "petals" resembled sakura petals. When the jutsu was cast, he only gave it a portion of his chakra in order to get the shape right before aiming for quantity.
Each petal seemed to not take up a large amount of chakra, due to their intial strength alone as well as the amount the user was to conjure. The air around him became charged with lightning, and he felt his hair stand on end. Around him formed a fair amount of the petals, though they were varied in shape, size, and power. A few even flickered and died. He had about eighty or so, he supposed, but he made no move to count them. Instead, he continued to focus his chakra into the technique in order to find the balance they would require individually to be at full strength, but still resemble the petals.
Easier said than done, he thought. Akihiko became dead to the world as he began to focus purely on he jutsu. He kept them floating around him slowly as he did his best to refine them, forcing them to take on a more flower-like form. Trying to balance out the amount of chakra with each individual petal was also proving to be difficult, even as he refined the petals before him. He put a little more chakra into the jutsu, just enough to help stabilize the petals he already had. It seemed to work, but the chakra control required for this technique still blew his mind.
Raiton: Sakurai, 雷光: 丹色 木 雷光, (Lightning Style: Cherry Blossom Lightning)
Rank: C
Skill: Ninjutsu
Effect: The user creates a mass of blue-white lightning petals.
Special: “Hand Seals”
Drawback: Not a complete technique, but a set-up for others.
Description: The user forms the hand seals, focusing chakra around them. They then mold the chakra into several hundred blue-white sakura petals of lightning in a three-meter radius around the user, like the Sand of a Saton user. These petals float gently around the user’s body. Each one gives out minor shocking, but together they can give strong shocks and burns akin to a C rank shock. The petals last until the user chooses to dispel them. The user can control these techniques in a fifteen meter radius around them.
Limit: Must have Raiton.
