Center Star Pawn

The Center Star pawnshop is held within a average sized brick building without windows and with only two simple doors on both sides of the long building. It is only a single floor tall but long enough to hold the space of most two story buildings of similar scope and width. The red brick building is found near the outskirts of town and eagerly attracts both nearby residents and traders to browse through the ever-changing selection of good and often rare items gathered traded from an honest and well known source.

The inside of the pawn shop resembles the red brick exterior and simple square shape in design for the most part, the front being the area of the pawn shop where one of the couple who owns the building remains at the register at nearly all times. the area is covered in shelves and desks of all kinds with any different items laid across them, never looking similar more than a week in a row due to the ever-shifting inventory of items the place receives.

Beyond this lies the storage areas and the areas where the Toreas' live when the shop is closed. The homely section dressed up with many warm colors and items with soft carpet in every area of the house including the kitchens; for the most part this area remains inaccessible to visitors to the shop and the second doorway out of the building lies often locked in the back within the house area of the building.

In addition to trading items the two will often trade for good information or amazing rumors, often being the first to hear about long off details or tales which may never reach the ears of those who would not trade for such. They also sell such information in a similar manner, trading items or Ryo for good rumors or information which may not otherwise be known elsewhere.

Athenas Toreas (S rank Taijutsu Master, All Human Ally Specialist Techniques, Tensora Master, Bojutsu Master, Kamashi Master, All Chakra Gates.) is a straightforward woman, often she is mistaken for a man due to her quiet and brutish personality and will attempt to kill those who make the mistake or any grave mistake period. She can often get upset or act bullheaded towards the strangest things, regarding her and Yoel's words as correct and wiling to fight for the honor. Her spouse Yoel often keeps Athenas in line after outbursts occur and Yoel alone is often the only one capable of calming her down during intense moments.

Yoel Toreas (S rank Clan Master, Shitakuma Master Seitetsu Master, All Human Ally Specialist Techniques, Dhënada Master, Nara Master.) is a caring and loving woman, master of the manipulative and seductive arts even if she acts in a kind and generous fashion. Being blind she often enjoys touching things rather than looking at or even listen to them, having placed carpets across her home for that very reason. She is often calm and even headed in comparison to her spouse Athenas but is not afraid to unleash punishment upon those who break her trust or harm Athenas.

The two have known one another since childhood and spent much of their years as ninja together, only recently expressing their feelings for one another. After several more years as ninja the two decided that they'd rather quit than possibly loose one another, opting for their remaining years together as a simple couple managing an honest pawn shop rather than continue their previously promising ninja careers.

Every so often the shop closes completely for several weeks at a time unannounced, it's rumored that these events are caused by juicy rumors that pique the women's appetite for adventure again enough that they abandon the shop for a time and travel as ninja for a time once again.

[The Doctor]

He entered the red brick exterior shop. he walked in through the doors seeing the shelves and desks of all types noticing the different kinds of items that were placed as an inventory. The Doctor entered the area not as The Doctor but as another man, a man of great importance and stature. A man the world would know as The Handler.

The Doctor headed to the main group. A woman of sorts, or perhaps a man.

The Doctor walked in with a long sleeved collared shirt. Wrapped around the neck was his dark brown tie with a 4 buttoned black wool vest over it. He wore a simple medium gray slacks held up by a simple leather black belt. The shoes were loafers, with a mix of brown and burgundy leather color. To keep himself warm the Doctor wore a long overcoat, dark blue with 2 large pockets on the front. The Doctor also wore a pair of aviator shades and a dark brown fedora hat.

He wasn't the Doctor however as there was something different about him. As he entered, he entered calmly, relaxed and with confidence. His arms were to his sides, and never in his pockets. He looked straight ahead before glancing around with a curious look on his face. It was as if he walked in wonder, and yet a sense of owning the place. He cocked his head to the left before reaching up to his sunglasses and removing them showing his blue eyes.

He then placed them away and took off his hat showing his balding head with the hair on the sides. His hair was a mixture of brown and gray. His eyebrows showed the same. He had some girth in his cheeks matching the weight around his waist. It seemed like the man had a little weight on him but not too much to make himself overweight. It was something simple showing his age. His skin was pale, eyes were narrow.

As he walked to the woman in charge he gently tossed his fedora hat onto the table and smiled. "Hello," he stopped briefly. "I'm here as a mediator for my clients who wishes to make a business transaction of sorts," he said calmly stopping tilting his head to the left showing a fake smirk of a smile. His voice was gruff, low, calculating. "The name's Jack Shaw," he continued extending his hand, having the hand tilted to the left having the top of his hand diagonal towards the ceiling. "I'm called The Handler," he continued with a smile waiting for a handshake.

If the shake came he would give a quick shake before placing his hand down. If one did not occur he would wait just a second before placing his hand down to his side. Either way the Doctor would clear his throat, and stand up straight with his hands to his sides. "One of my clients would like to use your network in procuring a series of books. These books appeared months ago during random occurrences when weird things happened," he continued while pulling out a piece of paper. "These were the names my client could remember," he said sliding the paper on the table.

When looked the paper said "Book of Gollum, Book of the Ghost, Curse of the Werewolf"

"My client is willing to make a deal, and has hired me to be the Handler of discussion. He also understands there is a fee in doing business with your Organization and is willing to purchase service for 10% of the books fee."

Athenas sighed, another slow day. Drumming her fingertips on the counter as she took mental stock of the shop. So filthy, maybe she should dust... suddenly, the customer bell rang, perking up her attention. Eyes brought front and center to the man entering, she felt no malice toward this man or no specific... bad gut feelings toward him. Seemed just like another person looking for something, just what she specialized in. Listening to the man's words she politely nodded when expected.

Putting up a finger at the man as if to stop him when he mentioned 10% of the book's price. "First of all welcome. Second, These books. How much are we talking here? Will it be worth MY time to put this information out there for you. I don't want no measly five thousand dollars or anything. Are these books worth some serious dough or am I going to have to ask you for oh say... fifty percent instead?" She asked, leaning over the counter to look at the man a little more closely.

[The Doctor]

The Handler narrowed his eyes. His mouth slightly open. He cocked his head to the left once more giving a little nod in his head. An eyebrow raised as the Handler straightened himself up and gave a little chuckle.

"My Client is willing to negotiate with 20,000 Ryo per book. All he wants is a little word to go out that these books are worth something to the write person," he answered to her, somewhat annoyed by how she spoke out but simply let it go. He stood there calmly, hands to his sides staring at her with a calm expression.

[Beltran]

Crossing her arms, Athenas gave it a little thought. Looking at the man as she thought of an answer. Twenty thousand dollars wasn't a bad deal just to spread information. Giving a nod, she reached out and slapped her hand on the countertop. "Twenty thousand each. Sounds fair for my time and resources." She bellowed out. "Do you have your client's fee? Upfront payment is a must, of course."

[The Doctor]

The Handler stood there, observing, watching. He glanced up and down at her gathering as much information on her out of a subconscious reaction. He waited patiently before she continued to talk.

"Twenty thousand each. Sounds fair for my time and resources." She bellowed out. "Do you have your client's fee? Upfront payment is a must, of course."

The Handler chuckled as he reached into his coat pocket and gave a half laugh. "Of course, what kind of Handler would I be if I was not given the money to make a deal right away," he said placing the Ryo on the table and sliding it over to the woman.

[Beltran]

Looking at the cash, Athenas thumbed through it counting it rather slowly. Sticking it in the cash drawer under the counter she removed a pad of paper. "Now... you said Book of Gollum... Book of the Ghost and Curse of the Werewolf?" Carefully she printed out the words, almost painstakingly slow. She wasn't a master of writing, but who really was? Ripping off the piece of paper she folded it up and handed it to her wife. "Make some copies of this send them to the normal place. We have a customer." She winked toward the wife who quickly did the requested deed. Turning back, she nodded her head toward the client. "Your information will be out by the end of the day, just come in and check with us every few days for any updates."

[The Doctor]

The Handler waited as she scribbled the names on the paper. He watched calmly, carefully as he tilted his head. "Yes those are the books," he said quickly in a monotone voice before taking a glance around. He licked his lips once and turned to see her giving the paper to her wife. It wasn't out of malice or there were no other forms of communication other than his lips were simply dry.

"Your information will be out by the end of the day, just come in and check with us every few days for any updates."

Without skipping a beat the Handler reached with his left hand grabbing the Fedora and placed it on his head. "Of course," he said answering her. "I will come back in a few days time. I hope business will be prosperous."

The Handler turned around and headed back out, leaving the station for the first time just after he placed his sunglasses back on. There was more the Doctor needed to do.

Wiggling a toothpick between his fingers, Trace waltzed into the shop on a pure whim. Checking out the bulletin board of information, something caught his eye. A request for a book he owned! Oh snap! "This is pretty good... Pretty good indeed." He muttered to himself. Yelling over to the desk clerk, Trace would mention the information. "Can you ring up this guy? I have this Book of Gollum thing and I'm willing to make a trade with him." He said in an elevated voice. "I'll wait for him to show up, I got nothing but time."

[The Doctor]

The Doctor came back after such a long time to the red brick exterior shop. He walked through the doors, eyeing the shelves, desks, and noticed a man at the end. He knew this man, the man knew the Doctor, but he did not know the Handler.

The Doctor entered calmly, with confidence. It was as if he owned the place. He was relaxed, hands to his sides, never in his pockets. He looked at the man in the front, eyeing him up and down getting a good feel of the man, sensing anything that may be wrong even though he somewhat knew who this man was. He reached up and took off his fedora hate and flashed a smile while giving a squint in his eyes showing a "real" smile as he raised his hands up to his sides as if mimicking to give a hug.

"You know it is a damn shame I never got your name," he yelled out as he walked towards the front counter. "With that being said I hope to hear some news about an earlier business transaction?" he continued with a curiousness in his voice while placing his arms to his side carrying his fedora with his left hand.

Without skipping a beat he continued to walk forward while taking another quick look around. He looked interested in the items around him but really he was scoping the area, getting a feel around him as he looked up at the counter once more. "You know the decor reminds me of this lovely little place I ran into within the Country of Water, very relaxing, and very home brew," he continued reaching the counter. "Please tell me you have some kind of news of what I'm looking for."

[Infinite Swordsman Trace]

Trace raised an eyebrow as he looked at the man, almost suppressing a chuckle... for what reason, he really couldn't tell. "This guy over here's the one who has what your client wanted." The clerk behind the counter said and simply walked away to take care of some other pressing business, leaving Trace with the man.

"So, you want this?" Trace pulled the Book of Gollum from his bag almost disdainfully. "Some seriously weird shit in here ya know. I don't understand a lick of it though. But there's something I want... I want something to help my vision." the Chuunin rambled on, running his fingers over the spine of the book, his four others hidden under his trench coat. "If you bring me some herb or something that... I don't know. Lets me shoot lasers out of my eyes, give me four eyes or shit. Even let me see in the dark. And we'll be good. Do we have a deal?" Trace asked. Steadying a hand over his sword holster, just in case... He didn't really trust this guy a hundred percent, but why should he? He was a stranger in a pawnshop after all.

[The Doctor]

"So, you want this?" the man pulled out the book as he waved it around disdainfully.

The Doctor was able to get a glance at the name of the title noting it was the Book of Gollum. The Handler straightened himself some as he grabbed the hat with his right hand, holding it in front of him with both hands. The Handler began to gently tap against the rim of the Belt while hearing this man speak of something he would like.

He quickly licked his lips staring off into space, continuing to think before the Handler placed the hat on top of his head once again and flashed a quick smile. "I must speak with my client beforehand but I believe there may be something that can be worked with pertaining to Nightvision. If you do not mind waiting I can return with a more," he stopped briefly thinking of the right word to say. "Promising answer?" he ended with a question at the end.

He slowly began to walk backwards towards the door never turning his back towards the man in front of him noticing his hand against the sword holster. "If you are willing to wait, I shall return. If the answer is yes I will have what you seek, if the answer is no I will have some other form of compensation for your troubles," with that the Handler disappeared, exiting through the door and vanishing without a trace once again.

Giving a light shrug, Trace sat down, pressing his back to the wall. His eyes looking up as the man spoke, then back down to the book he was going to trade. "Hopefully your client has something that I want then." He gave a tilt to his head and cracked it heartily. "I'll be here until you get back. I'm going to take a look over this book a bit." Trace mentioned as he opened the book, which seemed to be bound in dark brown leather from some wrinkly skinned monstrosity as the man left.

Holding the hat with his left the Handler reached into his inner coat pocket with his right and pulled out a single dose of Bilberry Bush and held it up in the light for the man in front of him would see. "I spoke to my client," he began to speak while looking at it, watching the light shine through the vial. "He agreed to the terms and was able to provide with a single dose of Bilberry Mixture." He grasped the vial with his hand and put his hands to his sides staring at the man with the book. "It gives nightvision," he stopped briefly. "Forever" he finished giving a soulless look at the man. "So do we have a deal?" he asked curiously.

[Infinite Swordsman Trace]

Without any sense of danger and with frightening haste, Trace held out the book. "Nightvision? Forever? Fucking sold." The gleam in his eyes, metaphorically of course might as well have been literal as he pushed the book a bit further toward the Handler. "I guess you're not going to tell me who your client is, huh? Secrets and all?" Quickly after, he added."That's fine, we all have secrets. I happen to know that a certain villager around here enjoys a television show about cartoon ponies. But I'll never divulge that secret of who he is." He was prattling on, as he always tended to do.

[The Doctor]

He noted the excitement in the man's eyes as he saw the book be pushed forward towards the Handler. The Handler took a few steps forward while he extended his left hand out holding the bottle filled with the Bilberry mixture. In a fluid motion he would reach for the book with his right while handing the mixture with his left and slowly step backwards, somewhat ignoring the man comment about "Secrets".

The man chuckled and took a glanced around once more. "Well I don't like sticking around longer than I have to. I thank you for your business," the Handler placed the book inside his coat pocket, replaced his hand and glasses before turning back around, heading back out. "Oh, if you ever need something to be handled, don't be afraid to call for Jack Shaw."

He slowly opened the door, and exited the area once again, leaving with his book as he headed out once again.

Giving an appreciative nod, Trace made the transaction and watched the man leave. He swiftly left after with his vial of Bilberry, downing it as he left the door. Shuddering, he made a face. "Uh, god. That shit's bitter." He groaned out.

The old lady looked up from the papers and smiled at her customer. A smile grew as she looked over the documents. ”Oh, you are in luck sir. We indeed have the books and are asking for 100,000 Ryo for them.” With a grin, she placed her hand upon the counter and awaited what the gentleman wanted to do next.

The Handler's eyes widened slightly as his head tilted back some while still looking at the B.I.N.G.O. lady. "Well that is actually surprising because I actually happen to have that." he reached in, pulled out the Ryo and chuckled "Talk about coincidence don't you think?" he said with another chuckle.
