Character Depth
Personality:
The Child- Despite being the age of 18, Ulyanin was and is still in the mental state of being a child; and as with any child in any part of the world, he exhibits an innate sense of wonder towards the world, and constantly finds many things in his immediate environment very fascinating, his fascination is such that he especially finds staring at anthills while on his hands and knees a very worthwhile pastime. Due to finding almost anything and everything constantly interesting, he will some times either be distracted or found in random places; and like most children, Ulyanin is very excitable and cheerful when finding some new and wondrous discovery that would incite a starry-eyed reaction from him. He is very trusting of others and is often the first to try to make friends with anyone he meets and takes a great interesting in knowing other people; when he is befriend by someone he has gotten to know, he is very loyal and is willing to help out his friends in almost any way or shape he can. When and if Ulyanin is made sad by any particular occurrence, he will often curl up in a ball and retreat inwardly and try to keep the outside world away from him as he sobs or mourns.
The Adventurer- Due mostly to his childlike nature, Ulyanin has a strong desire to explore the world he lives in despite the many hazards and pitfalls that may lie in wait for him. The childlike person's great urge to learn new things has him often popping up in every which a ways in any village or residential area he happens to be in; the consequences of learning the negative aspects of reality, or when encountering something he has no understanding of, has Ulyanin display mixed and often dramatic reactions in accordance to how significant an experience is. When witnessing something that he considers a wonder, he will often clap cheerfully in an infantile fashion much similar to a toy monkey clapping its small cymbals; however, when faced with something terrifying or simply to huge a scope to understand, he will usually run and hop into the nearest hiding spot he can find and stay there until he feels it safe. The only time when he stays to confront whatever terror or anomaly that is before him is when he is protecting others.
The Odd One- Much to the bewilderment of many who have encountered him, Ulyanin displays many strange quirks that can often garner him mixed attention. Opposite to his usually expressive mannerisms and enthusiastic gleefulness, he is very slow to anger and is usually peaceful; however, when provoked sufficiently for whatever reason, he will retaliate regardless of whether he is facing a much superior adversary. In times of hardship, or trials to better himself and expand his capacities, Ulyanin possesses an incredible amount of will and belief that he will apply to overcome the obstacles that stand in his path. Contributed by his curiosity and fascination of most things in the world, he will tend to appear in the most awkward of situations or simply by random chance observing what many would dismiss as trivial; to add to his list of weird habits, he is able to remember and understand certain details like events or acquired knowledge to a certain degree higher than most who are the same age as him. This keen and enduring property is what both compensates and accentuates the peculiarities that Ulyanin possesses, which makes up for his deficiencies in commonsense and his confusion concerning social cues and interactions.
Appearance:
The Child- Not only does Ulyanin have the mental state of a child, he also has the appearance to match, as his physical features, slight and thin physique, and his height makes him look much like a child of 12 years. Ulyanin has black puffy hair that often fluffs about almost every time he moves or is in windy areas, it is wild and unruly while it parts in the middle to frame his face; this abundant and free-spirited hair is like a miniature jungle in which his ears are lost in, creates the mystery of whether the odd little guy has free earlobes or attached ones. Ulyanin's eyes are usually seen as slits, which would have also raised the mystery as to what his eye color would be, except that his eyes are a brown color that strangely has a luminescent property about it; this eye color is evidenced as his left eye is open when behind a piece of eye wear, but it could very well be a much lighter shade due to the darkened tint on the lens of whatever eye piece he is wearing, which hint that Ulyanin has eyes that are sensitive to light. Also an indirect clue to his photo-sensitivity is his pale skin that has yet to be marred by by scars, and is oddly untouched by the blemishing effects of puberty and its developmental altering; otherwise, the only mystery left would be what his mouth looks like, as it is usually obscured by the high collar from his clothing of choice.
The Wardrobe- Adding on to the weirdness that is Ulyanin is the clothing he is usually seen wearing; these articles of clothing are a high-collared cloak, a strange brimmed hat, and a pair of flip-flops. The fluffy-headed explorer normally wears a cloak that is free-flowing and does little to hinder range of motion other than causing some air resistance; the sleeves are very broad and are long enough to obscure the hands, the trunk of the cloak reaches down to just above the ankles. With the cloak looking more like a large poncho, it appears to be somewhat ornate, as the majority of the cloak is dyed in a light brown color, with the high collar that covers Ulyanin's mouth is mostly white except for a light brown circle at the front with a black ring around it. The most distinguishing item is the childlike person's hat, which appears to be of a conic/cylindrical design, as the top of the large head wear is widest at the top and becomes narrower down the 10 inches of its height until being a radius that fits comfortably on his puffy head; it is then tapered by the brim that encircles the head and is 1.5 inches in width, allowing some measure of shading. For foot wear, Ulyanin wears a simple pair of flip-flops which are made off wood and is lined with a soft yet durable padding which provides comfort while walking; the slippers are held to the feet by strong yet thin and flexible ropes made by woven reeds. Overall, All of what Ulyanin wears is for the sake of comfort and isn't all too practical for combat.
The Illusion Mole- When using genjustsu, Ulyanin often has a general preference of being engulfed from the neck down by flashing lights or color when he chooses to be seen in the illusions he casts on his opponents, with his head popping out in the middle of the tripped up trap as his little signature; this unnecessary exposure often proves to be very risky and would provide his enemies a target to aim at. This habit was carried over when Ulyanin first used genjutsu as a way to entertain the people in any particular place he ended up in, mostly to buy food stuffs to keep his tummy full. Another quirk of notoriety that attributes Ulyanin to moles or other underground dwellers is his swimming in mud when he creates a mud field; in some sense, Ulyanin is subconsciously suggesting that the boundaries separating environment and inhabitant are illusory in his mind. A rather funny occurrence about Ulyanin when he swims in his mud field is that, every time he resurfaces to make quick tabs on his adversary or is about to cast another technique, he shakes hi head to remove the mud from his puffy hair; as a result of shaking off the soaked dirt, his hair becomes like new and just as puffy as before, like the mud never touched his fluffy head to begin with.
Background:
The Origins- Where Ulyanin came from and exactly who and what he is remains a mystery to this day. One day, an infant was left in the care of a traveling caravan of performers who were each former ninja who hailed from all over the world and from the different shinobi nations; the caravan was a nomadic bunch that traveled the lands in search of fortune, freedom, and to live life without being bound by the trappings and prejudices that all of the established nations held amongst themselves. In this small mixing pot was a fostered identity of self-sufficiency and free-spirited attitude which was then passed down to Ulyanin and his many adopted kin as they trekked and learned the crafts practiced by their Hodge-podgy family, with Ulyanin learning to unlock and use Earth Release to protect himself as well as some basic Ninja skills; when they were children were fully grown, all were given the choice to venture out into the world more thoroughly on their own and learn about the nations they left behind. Some stayed and continued to practice their talents for when they inherited the mantle of becoming the caravan; Ulyanin was among the others that decided to see more of the nations for themselves and decide where each of their fates would lie while they sought to satisfy their curiosity.
The Wheres and Whats- In his travels, Ulyanin learned from other street performers and a number of interesting characters in most of the villages he ended up in, most of whom were retired or washed up ninja trying to make a living, or were genin showing off what they learned; his first destination was the Hidden Rain village, where he first learned how to perform Water Release techniques while gaining an affinity for the element. The one who first taught him the points in how that pathway for ninjustu worked was a former ninja who was once a Chunin; this ex-ninja was unable to stand the level of stress and danger that being a ninja had entailed, having quit to pursue more artistic ventures until realizing that he was at a dead end, which made him resort to more shady means of livelihood through theft and burglary while using Water Release to help him escape. Appealing to whatever conscience the former shinobi still had with his naivete, cheerful friendliness, and trusting nature, Ulyanin was able to learn how to create and swim in mud fields as well as being taught the ability to absorb another person's chakra. The odd aventurer then went to the Hidden Leaf village, where he learned about Pattern Perception techniques from a genin who wanted to test out the skills she had just learned from members in her three-man cell; she made it up to the fluffy-headed person who flopped on his face by helping him cast his first Vertigo illusion herself after having tested it on him until she felt confident enough to have mastered it.
The Present Time (Immigration)- Having been seen popping up all over the Hidden Cloud Village for 3 years from the age of 15, Ulyanin is now a genin at the age of 18 running around and doing tasks; he had learned a lot since the time the Cloud ninja found him frolicking amongst and making friends with the animals near the local fauna that was present. Although the presence of foreign ninja and other working migrants weren't an uncommon occurrence, Ulyanin was a good degree more unusual than any recent visitor the village received; not long in his first week of being in Kumogakure, the local villagers found his unusual habits and silly antics as both a source of headaches and a source good cheer. It also helped greatly that this burrowing fluffy mole of chaotic happiness was a very welcomed spectacle for many of the children due to his strange clothing; the grown ups had also followed suit in befriending the infantile fellow after observing Ulyanin's trusting and harmless nature without his knowledge. As a gift for the puffy-haired weirdo, some of the people who lived hidden in the clouds petitioned for him to be adopted as a cloud ninja; they had also went and indicated the some low-cost apartment complexes where he could live. This was where the Ulyanin's true adventure would begin.

Rank: "C"
Skill: GenJutsu
Effect: Jutsu allows the user to perform Pattern Perceptions.
Special: ---
Drawback: ---
Description: Patterns, like Figments and Glamours, produce sensory impressions, and everyone within range perceives the same thing. Patterns contain an additional, mind-affecting element, and they can cause real, physiological effects. All patterns are Mind-Affecting Jutsus. While everyone sees a color spray, only some of those within the cone actually deal with its effects. Note: that a particular sense is required for patterns to have an effect. Sightless creatures ignore Color Spray, for instance. If you want multiple subjects to be affected by what they see, and you do not care if everyone perceives it happening, pattern might be a good choice.
